One of the deadliest mushrooms to ever pop through Gaia’s soil. Papery white notes evoke the grace of this fungi, grounded by thin, crisp soil. A Lab order frimp: In the imp: Dirt, more dirt and paperwhites - a very sweet note Wet: The dirt is still there, but the paperwhite have come to the front. Dry: At first the paperwhite was pretty strong,with dirt in the background and just a hint of mushroom. As time went by, the sweet faded a fair amount and the mushroom also got stronger; I don't smell much dirt anymore. It faded fairly fast and had very little throw - I'm holding my wrist up to my nose to smell it. I like this, and I didn't expect to.

It's really important that Freeway eat. I even resorted to making Holly a tasty blend of plain yogurt, small pieces of cooked chicken, Fancy Feast and aluminum hydroxide; I'd throw it all in my mini-chopper to blend it. Are you giving him anything to settle his stomach? It may be that he's nauseous all the time and that's affected his appetite. Another thing to check is his mouth. CRF cats seem to be prone to mouth ulcers; they're not hard to heal and they make it painful for a cat to eat. Good thoughts to you and Freeway! Anne

In the vial: Lurid doesn't smell fierce or savage to me. It smells exactly like my grandmother's cologne. Sweet and floral - not my favorite. Wet: I wanted to like this - there are so many interesting reviews. Unfortunately, it still smells like cologne. Dry: Better. The sweetness seems to be toning down, and the lavender is coming forward. Later: It has become a less overpowering scent, but it still reminds me too much of the cologne. Verdict: Lurid doesn't work well with my chemistry. I'm not experienced enough to isolate what it is I don't like, but I suspect the resin.

In the bottle: This smells mostly of mint, but with a hint of musk. Wet: Musk and mint, with citrus in the background. Just a hint of tea is detectable. Dry: The tea is coming on stronger, and the citrus is gone. I'm getting tea and musk with a touch of mint. Later: A soft tea, slightly musky and with just a suggestion of mint. It doesn't have much throw. All in all, this is a light, clean scent.

When I smelled this in the bottle, I didn't particularly like it; the only way I can describe it is that it smelled "off" to me. On my skin, I loved it! The main note is tobacco - like pipe tobacco. There's an underlying note of sugar cookie; fortunately not strong, just enough to cut the sharp edge of the tobacco. As I wore it longer, the tobacco is going away and the lime is coming to the forefront, still with an underlying sugar cookie note. I never did smell the rum. The throw on this is stronger on me than about anything I've tried. All in all, a keeper; in fact, I will keep my eyes open for more.

13 (Jan. 2006) smells to me like milk chocolate in the bottle. On my skin, it smells more like cocoa and some vanilla, with a background hint of something artificial. On my skin a little longer, I can smell a slight note of mandarin, but it’s almost overwhelmed by the cocoa. And the chocolate is starting to change into a more fake chocolate scent, like I smell in cheap chocolate-flavored lip gloss. It does seem to be lasting well. I really, really want to like this just from the description, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work well on me. I'll try it again, though, because I really want to give it a chance.

In the imp: Sweet - bubblegummy. The sweet overwhelms other notes. On my skin, wet: It's sweet bubblegum with a hint of floral. On my skin, dry: The sweet is going away and it's more complex now. There's something in it that tickles my nose and makes me want to sneeze. I am starting to pick up just a hint of something warm - amber? Final Thoughts: I like it much better the longer it's on my skin, but it makes me want to sneeze. It seems to be fading fairly fast. Final, final thought (2 1/2 hrs. later): Now I like it - it's faded a lot, but whatever made me sneeze is gone. It's mildly spicy and warm.

Hang in there! My cat Holly developed renal failure at the age of 19. The first time I gave her subQ fluids, everything went wrong - I dropped the needle on the floor, I didn't get the needle in right and the fluids went everywhere, she was scared because I was scared - but we got through it and it became almost routine. A few things that I found that helped: bend a wire clothes hangar and make a hanger for the bag to go over the top of a door - if it's up high, the fluids flow faster. Warm the bag of fluids - I had a large 2 gallon freezer bag in which I would place the fluid bag; I would leave that sitting in a sink full of warm water for a few minutes so it was more comfortable for her. I also gave her a treat after each fluid treatment. Are you using aluminum hydroxide as a phosphorus binder in his food? If you haven't joined the Feline-CRF-Support group on Yahoo, I would advise you to do so. There are a lot of helpful people in the group, who are willing to give hints and advice. Holly lived for eight more months, until her liver, not her kidneys, gave out. I'm sure the fluids made her more comfortable and extended her life. indybear
