  1. This is a dry, aged Oman frankincense with saffron and rare woods.

Of all the Bloodmilk / Exquisite Corpse releases, Planchette called to me the loudest.
It was bound to be a winner. And it is!

Planchette takes you through the curtains of parlours and hoodoo shops where fortune tellers and gypsies reside. Opening with incense, it progresses into soft woods nestled in an amazingly smooth saffron. It is glorious! In the same vein as the original Mme. Moriarty, Planchette is a mysterious and deadly sexy scent! I must admit that I've been striking out recently with a few BPAL's (Pip, I'm looking at you), but Planchette warmly welcomes me back to the BPAL fold. It's classic Black Phoenix....filled with love, creativity, and inexplicable beauty..

  2. I just had to say that the lasting power of this scent is amazing. The champagne is light, fizzy, and Sprite/GingerAle ish and the opium is sweet, deep and gorgeous.

Shocking at first...sooo much champagne & fizziness but as time went by, and the opium started swirling, I became smitten. Plus the last power was over 12 hours for me. Can't wait for this one to age, but I'll get alot of use out of this one right now. :yum:

  3. CCXXVII - 227

    Sugared Cherries!

Wet this smells just like a cherry popcicle. Cherry w/ an icey/slush note.....it's summer joy! Not really a morpher, the cherry note deepens upon drydown but never ventures into the land of cherry cough syrup (which was my fear). This will be a lot of fun to layer (maybe w/ something darker for winter....perhaps something with sandalwood, incense or amber? :P )

    It's a keeper!

  4. Hi there!

I was wondering what 6 scents you think anyone new really needs to try.

    My first thoughts are:

    Snake oil

    Dorian

    Embalming Fluid

    Dana O'Shee

    Morocco

    and Alice

......oh but then there's Antique Lace, O, Perversion, Szepasszony.....so many more!

    what about you?

*come join us in the Adopt-A-Newbie thread....everyone is welcome*

    TIA :P

  5. Since I'm a lover of Snake oil and incense, it's really a no brainer that I had to try this blend. Sometimes notes can be deceiving....however, in the case, they are everything that they appear to be....glorious!

King Cobra begins with a soft powder note / orris(not baby powder), just a slight snuggly smell that causes your nose to adher to your wrist. Incense and resin are prominent throughout it's lengthy stay (which is around 6 hours on me / and my skin usually drinks oils).

A meditative and aloft scent that is also quite snuggly...who could ask for more?

    In short: :P

  6. Oh thank you so much!!! :P

I feel another imp order coming on!

    viva la incense!

I can't seem to find any solar oils....I must be looking in the wrong spot????

Could someone point me in the right direction? TIA!!!

    ***wandering aimlessly around

Whoops -- almost forgot! All of the Solar Oils seem to have a frankincense and amber base. :D

I think that t3andcrumpets is referring to the Stations of the Sun (Ra, Ahathoor, Tum and Khephra), which are in the Bewitching Brews category. Go to the very bottom of this page on the BPAL website.

  7. I find Amsterdam (Old Amsterdam) to be very fresh, soft, and romantic! It's green but with pink tulips in bloom! :P

I am looking for a soft, innocent, romantic floral scent. I want to avoid anything too heavy, dark, cloying or sweet. I am trying to find something youthful but not childish. I'm particularly interested in scents that feel "pink"...

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be delighted to hear them! Help me avoid the "old lady perfume" trap!
