in the vial, definitely something burning wet: ash like cleaning the fireplace don't know if i can take this one. maybe if i layer it under something else. dry: much nicer, not nearly as offensive on my nose. now it is a hot incensey smell, very smoldering, and smokey yet the ashy smell has gone away thank goodness. i still think it is a layering smell for me but it is nice.

wow this one is very complex. i can't really distinguish single notes. it was pretty floral wet but dry down is not so much floral, it is definitely a dark smell, it gives me the same feeling as dia de los meurtos. I have no clue why but it is really reminding me of dia, which is good cause i love dia.

on me it is all coconut, hazelnut, and a touch of musk. beautiful blend

in the vial butterscotch schnapps wet: rich creamy butterscotch yummy and sticky yet w/ a rummy background. dry down, the butterscotch fades a bit it is a nice buttery rum. very very nice i love this one.

in the vial: smells like pur vetiver wet: wow that is some vetiver dry: ahhh so this isn't a single note it becomes a very nice, blend of spices and the earthy smell of you guessed it vetiver, but hey i am a vetiver fool. i was just telling a friend saturday how vetiver is a great note i want my dh to try this one for some reason i think it would be yummy on him. it is a good scent for my darker days.

in the vial: never smelled anything like it. not sure thsi wil be good wet: patchouli dry...wow how nice this mellowed, i don't get any orange blossom, it is a ginger patchouli blend that is slightly sweet (presumably from teh blossoms yet not distinguishably orange) me likes.

I must be a freak....I do not smell almonds. in the vial: light very light sweet honey milk, not milk like we get at the grocery store, but fresh from the farm up the street milk, but it is wramed up, sweetened wet: a creamy, sweet, fresh grain smell. very light and innocent smelling dry: wow i am not much into fresh light scents but i like her. it is a white, frothy creamy smell. is there honey in this one? and definitely a grain of some sort. very very nice.

in the vial it is way way fruity. wet: still very fruity ike tutti fruity drydown: awe much nicer, the wine is the front runner right now, i am thinking a berry wine not a grape wine. but I also am picking up a resinous smell? hmmm i love resins am i projecting it? i keep sniffing and i definitely get a berry wine, resin smell. simpley beautiful. this is a summery scent to me. eta: i got it...this scent was doin so mojo w/ my mind and i knew the smell was something pleasant that i remebered...hawaii it smells like my trip to hawaii, no clue why but that in itself is enough to get a big bottle who wouldn't want hawaii in a bottle...now to figure out why hawaii?

the first dragons blood blend i smelled was the beautiful sweet, dragon's milk. this is like a polar opposite it is very dark, sweet, yet sassy, an earthy, red, spicey scent not nearly as "cherry" as i feared. I love it.

hmmmm in the vial grapefruit wet: more precicely grapefruit pith dry: i still get mostly grapefruit, the floral is extremely light and playing peekaboo, it is a grapefruit musk combo on me mostly. at first I was liek ummm don't think so, but cheshire keeps luring me back for another sniff w/ that damn smile. definitely will use the imp, possibly buy more

A friend read the site description and said that one is definitely you. I love wine scents so I agreed, ordered an imp, wish I had ordered a bottle. in the vial: grapey sweet grapey not really wine more like fresh grape wet: still very grapey but the wine smell is starting to show up dry down: the wine is a lovely sweet wine, dark swirling communion wine. there is a floral background but the leather and wine keep it from getting to girly feminine the kind of floral i don't care for, this is a dark, marture (not old) sexy floral. this fragrance could be a passion for me. I almost almost can see wanda fifghting Tintagel for #1

Ths was a very clean, masculine scent, yet i can see me wearing it. I am not familiar w/ the story of Bluebeard so it has no negative impact on my relations w/ this one. I loved it in the bottle loved it on. Want the dh to try it. I can't really separate the notes it is just nice, but then again i have abt 15 different scents on right now so I could be cornfused abt the notes, but i do like it.

Beautiful! I get a slight slight hint of a clean tea smell but mostly a sugary vanilla, but very light super nice, I have had it on a few hours and it still is there which surprised me because it was so light i thought it would disappear I want a big bottle of this.

Is it not funny how Beth's oils are so different for each of us? In the bottle this reminded me of dried herb store. I couldn't distiguish any notes. wet: interesting combination, I get a neroli scent but something selse i just can't place. dry down: ok lavender, neroli and cinnamon peeking out from behind them to say yoohooo and then running away just as I look. This is a very beautiful scent. Nice! And it didn't burn or wely my ultra sensitive skin at all.

I do not get the old dried rose smell form this. I agree that it does remind me of ouija's big sister, it smells of a fresh rose, and rosewood, It is beautiful.

Perfectly enchanting! An irresistibly sexual, utterly rapturous blend of three roses, radiant amber, and sensual red musk. in the vial: dark roses, i know this smell.....from where.... wet: nice, I do not get hippie shop (love hippie shop smells but I don't get it at all), dry down: I get a deep dark red rose, it is very moist maybe, late at night say the last rose of summer, there is a smokey feel here too, absolutely goegeous scent, I do not get the old lady comparison I feel sexy and powerful w/ this one on. The funnies thing (I believe I have brought it up before) I always hated rosey type smells, but Beth has a way of blending them w/ something dark and mysterious and it makes me crave the dark rose goodness, I find myself reaching for these time and again and it still shocks me.

i bet it smells lovely on you. I didn't get any chocolate, no sweet, it was a very weird smell for me, maybe I will get another imp and try it again (I swapped the other ) maybe it was an off week, and you don't have to worry about the animals they are all tame, the kids tho, they are savidges -
reading the reviews for this I start to get a glimpse of this scent, it is different things to different people. And what I mean is teh emotional aspect not the smell part, which often varies. in the vial it had almost no smell, I really really had to sniff, almost snorted up the liquid. I had smelled sacred whore right before this so that could have something to do w/ it. wet: it is very very faint, a clean soft, very comforting smell, how can a smell be comforting like this? dry: I almost always go for dark heavy spicy scents. But this one almost calls me, I keep sniffing it, I do not get any green from it, it is a soft soft flower, I think I smell lily, but there is more then lily if that makes sense, if a white puffy cloud had a scent I think this would be it. It is almost like wearing your boyfriends sweater after he leaves, and you can smell him and it is like he is still hugging you. I am definitely getting a 5ml

In the vial, i didn't get any floral or vanilla or cinnamon, I got something sharp that felt like it singed my nose. Kind of a metalic something. wet: the sharpness is still there but the floral (yup gardenia) is starting to grow. drydown: much much nicer, whatever that sharp note was, it was almost painful, but only lasts 5 min or so. Then it i a nice, musky, smokey, cinnamon, wine, gardenia, all of these notes seemed balanced and none are right there alone, it is very complex, very beautiful, lots of throw, it is very sexy and womanly, a naughty sexy type smell, I love it! It surprised me because wet I was tempted to wash it off, I am going to try it a few more times, before I commit to buying a big bottle because I do not like the first 5 min. But then again dry it might be worth it.....argh decisions.

I am so thankful for ebay, so I could get this one. in the bottle: weird and very masculine, sharp woodsy smell but not juniper something else wet: this was masculine in the bottle?? juniper, roe, beautifl dry: sigh I adore tintagel, which i bring up often , this is very similar in feel to me, it is more floral (the rose i guess) but the juniper, winey smell mixed w/ the roe is just too good. I adore this one. I hope one day it i released again so I can get more. I get hints of all the notes, taking turns tempting me, the dragon's blood, juniper, ect it is just simply devine thank you Beth!

Oils with the strongest throw or sillage - the most noticeable scents
shelldoo replied to lunalight7's topic in Recommendations
I would say samhain for sure I had a mishap w/ my retainer cap and a rather largish drop sprang forth. It was a day I had about 6 imps to mail off for swaps, the lady at the post office kept asking what the smell was, then when it was my turn (yes she was asking when I was quite a ways back in line ) I said I was sending essential oils, and she said ahhhh it must be you I smelled so lost of throw. -
