    All Saints'

all saints 05 in the bottle: roses and something a bit green wet: fresh roses as it dries it deepens, i get the frankensince and myrrh, w/ the roses. it also has a bit of a "dusty" type note. i love dusty roses. i still also detect a hint of something green not sure what exactly it would be though. anyway on me this is basically a resiny deep dusty rose. beautiful

    Dia de los Muertos

ddlm 05 in the bottle:wow there is alot of floral in here, more so then last years. all i can detect is florals, i am guessing it is cactus flowers but smells a bit like lily wet: holy hell, that is some floral ,strong, lots of throw last year i got a spanish rice type scent mingling w/ chocolate, and tobacco and a hint of floral this is the reverse. floral, then a hint of tobacco, not much else, and no saffrony rice scent (which i loved btw) as it dries it deepens a bit, the flowers are not all in my face, but it still is a floral scent, deep smokey floral, the scent still reminds me a bit of lillies, it is beautiful but i do prefer last years variety.

    Sugar Skull

sugar skull 05 Vibrant with the joy and sweetness of life in death! A blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits. in the bottle: sugary, slightly maple, a hint of something reminecent of tobacco, and a tid bit of something boozy wet: boozy tobacco scent, not tobacco smoke, but like fresh tobacco leaves and they be sugar coated leaves for sure. as it dries it sweetens considerable, and a hint of fruity booziness lingers, it is a deep rich fruit brandy type scent minglng w/ the boiling sugar this is a bit fruitier then last years version, i loved last years, but i actually think i like this years a bit better.

    Black Hellebore

in the vial: light florals w/ a hint of herbs wet: peony and lightly herbal this is a very light scent. hint of roses, bunch of peony, and a twist of dried sweet herbs. not really green sharp herbs, more sweet, no bite. this is a gorgeous soft scent

    Spirits of the Dead

dry tea leaf, linden blossom, papyrus, orris and coffin wood. hmmm in the bottle: tea leaves and a light floral wet: citrus? lime? huh as it dries, this is tea w/ lime. fresh squeezed lime it is crisp clean and not at all what i was expecting, it is actually almost a refreshing scent. not heavy in the least. i am not getting any woods, nothing deep. it is a light pale green scent

    Al-Araaf

in the bottle: fruity? hmmm must be the lotus wet: this is juicy, fruity, and floral as it dries, it is sweet, definitely "fae" lily sometimes has a tendancy to go to soap on me, this does not. it is fruity, and light florals, sweet, yet not foody i agree w/ ultraviolet it is a whispy scent. i believe this part of the prose sums up this scent yup that encapsulates this scent

    Evening Star

in the bottle an airy floral, like a nightime breeze throgh a flower garden. wet: hmmm sandalwood? none in the description, but i sense it. could that be orris? and moon flower as it dries this is a delicate, airy floral light, breezy, fresh. it is soft feminine, and fragile smelling.

    Alone

in the bottle: sandalwood, labdanum, patchouli wet: this is a spicey pungent patchouli blend dry down: what an intresting resinous scent, i don't detect even a hint of mandarin, i get alot of patchouli, sandalwood, and angelica (i have angelica root for bathing and it is very dry and brittle smelling, i definitely detect it in this blend) the cardamon adds just snough spice to warm it up and keep it from being all resin. this is deep, warm, and dark.

    The City in the Sea

in the bottle: aquatics, ozonish wet: fresh sea air this is somewhat cologne like, fresh, wet, oceanic, ozone in a bottle. i am not a huge aquatics or ozone fan, if you are this is for you it is very clean, almost misty.

    Annabel Lee

in the bottle: cucumber, and peony wet: what an intresting scent. cucumber, peony, sweet pea. but really it is sweet, almost innocent in nature. as it dries: this one doesn't morph a whole lot. it is a gorgeous blend of soft pink florals, not candy pink, but a soft floral pink. the cucumber lends it a juicy clean air. that keeps it from being cloyingly pink flowers. there is a hint of something i want to call aquatic but it is not water like. possibly this is the sea lilies? this secnt can be summed up in one word. soft. not soft as in barely there, but soft as in feminine softness, like a young girl just reaching womanhood, full of innocence, softeness, and hope for the future.

    The Sleeper

in the bottle: sharp, herbal, rosemary wet: the jasmine just will not play fair. jasmine hates me. i was hoping since it was night blooming it would behave. but nope it gets that harsh jasmine bitchslap that kicks my arse and makes me cry mercy. as it dries: the jasmine is still the little dominatrix bitch of the blend but, she is at least allowing the others to tramp around, i can detect a hint of lily and a breath of musk. i do believe the jasmine and rosemary are having a jello wrestling match of gigantic proportions. everyone else is caught up in their drama and kind of wondering around trying to stay out of harms way. all in all not as bad as it started off. but i don't know if i am woman enough to take the beating the jasmine dishes in teh beginning with

    Dreamland

in the bottle: musky, powdery, slightly floral wet: floral, i wish i knew just which one, it isn't the carnation, it isn't the tuberose, it does remind me a bit of gardenia. and there is a hint of muskiness as it dries, this is a soft pillow on a bed of flowers. for me the skin musk is the most obvious note, but not in an obnoxious way, the flowers are wrapped arund the musk. but it is almost impossible to discern where one flower begins and another ends. it is like a hybrid, is beth doing cross pollinization at the lab? i wouldn't say i would be the poster girl for soft, light, etheral florals. but this one i would wear. it is beautiful, wistful, and a touch of longing all poured into a beautiful bottle w/ a gorgeous lable.

    The Haunted Palace

in the bottle: blood orange, amber, a touch of vanilla wet: creamy blood oranges as it dries it is a sweet mish mash of vanilla and blood orange, amber grounds it giving it an etheral quality, and rose just peeps up to say hi everyonce in a while. but the musk. the musk is what makes this scent for me. and i am not one to look for musk as a must have.but this needed the musk to compliment, to perfect. and it does indeed touch perfection this is sexy, warm, juicy, almost lickable

    Lenore

i was dying to get this one. not so much because of the notes but because i am a HUGE fan of roman dirge's lenore. who was inspired by poe. so in a roundabout way it is connected anyway this is one i was so so hoping to love. in the bottle: the most obvious note is the vetiver, which is not bad, several scents i like have vetiver wet: vetiver, patchouli, smokiness. as it dries it sweetens a tad i get slight wafts of plum, it is still a very resinous scent, but it sweetens and gets a hint of musk. it is indeed a dark, i would even say dreary scent. but for me that is great. i love dark, deep, dreary, melancholy. yippee for beth this is just what i wanted it to be. thank you.

    Pumpkin Patch V (2005, 2006)

in the bottle: resinous, and green, and a touch of pumpkin wet: deep rich woodiness as it dries, it remains mostly resins, but there is the faintest breath of pumpkin, i don't get spice, and i don't really get greenery or ivy. this is like teh gourd of a pumpkin sitting on a freshly sawed log. not an evergreen type or cedary log but a hardwood. maybe oak, or maple this would be my second favorite of the set

    Pumpkin Patch IV (2005, 2006)

in the bottle somewhat smokey pumpkin wet: yup sandalwood, and pumpkin as it dries it balances out very nicely. it is smokey sweet incensey, like a holloween incense. there is a certain "dustiness" to it also. and i am thinking this is actually my favorite of the patch it is just comforting, beautiful, deep, and somewhat dark

    Pumpkin Patch III (2005, 2006)

in the bottle: fruity pomegranate wet: wow almost all pomegranate, if i sniff hard i can detect a hint of pumpkin as it dries it remains mostly pomegranate but w/ a grounding pumpkin note, to keep it from being over the top sweet. it is juicy, and fresh w/ a warm mushy background that completes the whole thing beautifully

    Pumpkin Patch II (2005, 2006)

in the bottle: chocolate yumminess wet; pumpkin appear seemingly out of no where as it dries it is chocolate covered pumkin. yummy and decadent

    Pumpkin Patch I (2005, 2006)

in the bottle spicey pumpkin wine wet ahh there are the apples, and mulling spices, this actually smells of a fresh granny smith, slightly tart apple this is almost all apples and spices, but the apple is a fresh juicy wet apple, amazing how beth does that, there is the slightest hint of pumpkin, that gooey squashish smell, but it just deepens the fragrance. just lovely

    Trick or Treat

in the bottle:hmmm i am not getting corn like real corn, this smells just like candy corn (i believe it is trick or treat also) candle from yankee. it is sweet candy yumminess wet: strong sweet candy corn scent, like sweet icing, maybe some vanilla but mostly sugar as it dries this is exactly what i expected. pure candy corn, uber sweet, cavities in a jar. i love it.

    Devil's Night

this one simply *had* to work on me, there was no choice. having said that.... the bottle is gorgeous. i love the vintage postcard idea. in the bottle: sweetness, reminecent of gingerbread poppet or shub, an alcoholic tinge, like s deep sherry scent not a cheap booze scent and what i think might be a touch of pumpkin or pumpkin spice wet: stays very true but a hint of smokiness is now mingling w/ the sweetness. as it dries it lightens much, it is a soft second skin feel that the musk must add to the blend. this is sweet, smokey, gingery, w/ a touch of alcoholic beverage. it is a fall night for sure, it reminds me of a child that samhain and shub would have if they mated. this is gorgeous. and i definitely need more.

    Samhain

ok, i was dying to get my 05 samhain as my 04 has only about a ml left, and it is byfar my most favoritest bpal EVER i have worn it nonstop since like august just yearning for fall. so fast forward, i get a cns the day of my wedding, dying to get the scent i momentarily consider not going on my much awaited honeymoon to salem. but my dh threatens to leave me at the altar so i decide the precious can wait. all week i was anticipating coming home to samhain. got home yesterday, tore into my box, opened it: in the bottle it is a bit more medicinal then 04, not as sharp as 03. but still a hint of teh samhain i love. i begin to worry i will have to sell my soul to get some 04. put a bit on my hand and immediately it starts to bloom, i can tell straight away it will morph into my lovely. it is woodsy, deep, moist, fall in a bottle. i am in awwee and lust w/ beth when i sniff samhain. it dries down to be very very close to the 03, and 04 versions on me. the drydown is all that matters to me, and i like medicinal anyway so the start doesn't bum me overly much.
