I'm thinking of getting himself a BPAL or two he's a clint eastwood fan; both dirty harry and westerns doesn't do aftershave normally likes vanilla hates cinnamon/clove/spice I'm thinking tombstone..... anyone got any thoughts or recommendations?

In the bottle this had a scent similar to burial or zombi; an earthy, greenish scent. Once I had applied it to my skin though it was a really strong sweet violet scent. Think parma violets sweets (were they just a UK thing?) deepened with something darker and bitter. For lush fans think of bathos used with middle earth

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)

apologies to mayfair as i haven't put your name on the quote I have to agree with starrykitten. Flying Fox and Youki-Hi have the exact same fragrance, though Youki-Hi is 10 times stronger. Siren is not even similar to me, I love Siren to bits but loathe the other two. I have not encountered any BPAL similar to FF/YH, but that could be due to the fact that I mainly try to avoid strong jasmine scents. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> phantasm when fresh this is EXACTLY the same as flying fox. when it's been open a while it becomes more of a lemon verbena/jasmine scent, but is still a really good companion to FF/YH -
i agree that in the bottle and when wet this smells just like almonds but once it dries to me it becomes porridge made with semi skimmed milk and loads of honey which is good btw lol

I would have called this post 'at last a cinnamon scent i can wear without going blotchy!' but it's been discontinued...... Loved this and will do my best to get a 5ml bottle from somewhere before it becomes more rare than pixie dust!

I was expecting to love this but both in the bottle and on my skin it is overly strong sandalwood. I like sandalwood but not when it is so overpowering! it actually makes me feel ill. I so wanted to like this given the vanilla (my fav scent ever) and the cocoa but i didn't get any of them..... I've bought about 12 5/10ml bottles so far and most were bought blind without having smelled the imps and only 2 of them have been ones I've not liked and wanted to swap so my ratio is still good lol

Apologies for not using the in bottle, wet and dry format but i am useless at describing scents when I frst applied this I got a strong coconut smell. Now that's not a bad thing at all but i didn't think it contained any coconut... Once it dried on my skin, it was theeeee most gorgeous warm (and gotta be said sexiest) smell ever. I can't describe any scents other than the coconut but it does have a leather smell. I adore this and a big bottle is needed

As soon as i sniffed the bottle i got a sense of deja vu........it took about 30 seconds to realise it smells exactly (ok, well, as near as...) like clarin's eau dynamisante this will be gorgeous in summer. it doesn't last long though

i am so glad someone mentioned dior poison. i knew this smell took me back to early-mid teens but didn't know why.....it is poison totally.....

this was my experience exactly.......i was in so much pain! pity really because I did like the scent.....I might try diluting it next time I'm feeling brave enough to try it!

I have recently found a love for jasmine thanks to lush's flying fox. I haven't tried the two together but I'd expect them to compliment each other well.
