Slushy snow, with mint and sage notes, and also redwood and warm amber. It's both warm and chilly at the same time. It is too faint, which is too bad. I'd love it if it were stronger.

Super heavy, heady floral. Not sure what champaca magnolia is, like compared to regular magnolia? I have tried other magnolia scents and not cared for them, but I adore this! It's so lush, and the honey blends in perfectly with the florals. There's also a smoky note that I'll attribute to the tobacco. Very warm, as Sheena said.

Patchouli and almond, such a great pairing! Bold, sharp, a tad bitter, but so addictive. I need to be on the lookout for more syrupy "aged" patchouli blends. I'm always a fan of patchouli, but this is made so unique because of the almond. I love it. I don't notice the cumin at all. Big bottle list. Would make an excellent room spray, too.

Yuzu! Grapefruit's more sophisticated and vaguely floral cousin. The thyme pops in, what an interesting pair these two notes make! And just a hint of hinoki wood. Not getting any cedar or carnation. Yuzu = happy! Go, yuzu! Don't need a whole bottle, though.

Smells like Christmas. Fir and pine, just like a fresh Christmas tree. Cool and crisp, yet comforting and nostalgic.

I think of this as a spray version of Hesperides, which I adored. Juicy apples and warm oak. The perfect autumn scent, reminds me of trips to the cider mill. I like to spray it on my sheets before bed, so cozy.

Oh, this is nice! Sweet pumpkin with a liberal amount of cinnamon and ginger. Similar to Pumpkin Queen and Pumpkin V 2007, both of which were heavy on the ginger as well. But those were too strong for me, while this blend is just right. A sweet, spicy, foody Halloween dream.

Orange tea! A big, bold tea scent. Actually kind of harsh at first. I'm not picking up any cardamom or cedar. It's suuuuuper citrusy tea, nothing else. Citrus amps on me so I should've known.

Woodsy and warm. The cedar and amber are lovely together. Wish I could pick out the saffron, but my nose isn't that refined. I really love it, reminds me of Incensio de Santa Fe cedar incense that I love. My husband swears he picks out a chocolaty note. The only downside is that it's not super strong, so I'd have to slather it on. Wish it came in a 5ml.

Vanilla and blackberries, with a background of honey and citrusy green tea. Sweet and tart. I love it because of all the honey and vanilla. It's a little fruitier than what I usually go for, but really pretty!

I purchased White Light along with Peace to help me deal with anxiety. Peace is more effective for me personally. White Light did not seem to do much during a social anxiety situation. I know it's not meant to be a perfume, but when I rub it on my palms, aside from making my palms warm, the scent is quite noticeable. And I think perhaps the reason it doesn't help me is because I don't really like the scent. It's a medicinal/herbal scent with hints of jasmine and cherry. I tried it a couple of times, but I think I will hold onto Peace, which is awesome, and pass this along to someone who can get more use out of it.

Lavender + black licorice. Herbal, really calming, scent's not too strong but definitely noticeable. I dab it on pulse points like a perfume, because I do love the scent and would wear it as a perfume. Instantly soothing, and also makes a good sleep blend.

Powdery lavender with tons of sweet vanilla. It's almost "Antique Lace + lavender." In the background, soft woods (sandalwood, oudh). I'm not noticing the chamomile or marjoram; it's not herbal at all for me. Such a calm, gentle blend. As an introspective introvert, it does suit me perfectly.

Sexy blood musk, smooth aged patchouli, and cocoa. Reminded me of some other scent, Midnight Kiss I think. I also agree with the Mme. Moriarty comparison. The red musk is strong, as it always is with my skin chemistry. There's a little spiciness from the tobacco. The musk isn't completely taking over, so I'm a fan. Vampy, feminine, fun.

An aquatic take on autumn. I love autumn leaves, but here they seem to clash with the rose. And the aquatic note is going sweet and cloying as it almost always does on me. Sorry, leaves. Not this time.

Metallic cologne, lots of balsam. Green, clean, alert. One of the better cologne blends.

It seems like there have been a number of recent rose and honey blends. I love the lab's honey but this doesn't feel new to me. I do enjoy the addition of sweet myrrh to the rose and honey. It's pretty, for sure, just not a standout for me.

A soft scent, like wispy dark feathers. I mostly notice the woodsy resinous notes, oudh and guiac. The patchouli is also present, but it's understated. I'm not getting any grapefruit or davana. Not a "smoky" blend, but representative of the ephemeral, fragile qualities of smoke.

You can just tell this is a Yule blend. It's got that holiday, festive, potpourri vibe. But there's also tons of honey. Like, take a pomander, an orange studded with spices, and then absolutely drench it in honey. Oh BPAL honey, you make me swoon! And then maybe light a beeswax candle, because I could swear there's beeswax in this! Is that what linden blossom smells like? I don't know. Orange blossom is cloying on me, but apparently orange zest is just perfect. Well, anything is perfect if its doused in honey. I'm calling this a holiday version of O.

When first applied, it's fruit salad on my wrist. Apple, peach, lime, and oranges. OK, this is pleasant enough. But then a creamy note and an aquatic note appear. Or a creamy aquatic. Which is kind of gross to me...like, aquatic milk? I am starting to feel filled with dread. Sure enough, the fungal lichen rears its gnarled head, and it's dirty and earthy and kind of...poopy. Like the smell of mushrooms with the dirt still on them?! I had to go wash it off. So very not for me. What a totally odd melange of notes.

I worked in libraries for many years but this doesn't remind me of old papers, books, anything like that. It's SEXY INCENSE. Dark, heavy, with hints of sandalwood or cedar. It has that raspy, "wood shavings" aspect. There's a similarity to Midnight Mass. And just a touch of soft leather. So sexy! I just re-read Good Omens (hilarious!) so I'm very glad I discovered this decant in my possession!

I've had this decant awhile, tried it a few times, and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it. I guess I was hoping it would grow on me but that's not the case. Soft powdery orange blossom, super sweet and sugary thanks to the vanilla and the natural, cloying nature of orange blossom. It's almost like a syrupy treacle. Now, there are syrupy scents I adore (Kill-Devil!), but I think the combination of syrupy vanilla and in-your-face cheeriness of orange blossom is too much for me. Remarkably similar to Zarita the Doll Girl (which I didn't care for either, sadly.)

Bliss in the Pumpkin Patch
tinyvulture replied to Numanoid's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
Gosh, how gorgeous! Bliss + Jack (or Pumpkin Latte maybe.) Velvety rich milk chocolate and sweet juicy, butter, spicy PUNKIN! For the dessert-lovers, the foodie scent fiends! The cinnamon and cocoa combination is reminding me of some of my great loves, Feast for the Greatly Revered Ones and Centzon Totochton...with the wonderful addition of that big orange gourd, of course! -
Lavender and anise (or licorice.) Herbal and sweet, ahh. Seems like a perfect sleepytime scent. However it doesn't seem quite as effective as the other Somnium blends I've tried (Somnus, Oneiroi). Last night, instead of Baku eating my bad dreams, I dreamed my husband and I got in a huge fight! It also didn't really help me with falling asleep. Still, the smell is so nice, I'll hang onto it and try it some more.

Consecrated under the auspices of the Eternal Mother under nine consecutive full moons, this oil was created to protect, bless, and bring the light of good health, happiness, and sweetness into the lives of children and expectant mothers. As a perfume: nondescript in the vial, but as soon as I apply it to my child's pillowcase, backpack, or soccer uniform, it smells just like cotton candy! As more than a perfume: I feel like it's all about the ritual. Taking the time to slow down and apply it to my child's possessions, I am focused on them, I feel gratitude and think of all my hopes for them. It is a moment of meditation that, at the very least, helps me feel calm and loving towards my child.
