I remember that this was my first 10ml order. I love it! It smells like......... vacation! I live near Orlando, and whenever we make a weekend trip to the Florida Keys, I slather on Black Pearl when I first see the ocean. Tropical, coconut, savoury (more like the coconut milk of Thai food than that of the coconut Sunblock, but either one is Vacation-y). Definitely hazelnut too - real hazelnut, not candy-bar hazelnut. Almost salty. Perhaps if you added some coconut/hazelnut with some Jolly Roger. Pirate-y. Reminds me of sand and boats and isolation. One of my favourites of all time.

Y'know those "Werther's Originals" candies? Grog smells just like how they taste, with some rum thrown on top. Kind of like butterscotch schnapps. Exactly like butterscotch schnapps, actually. In other words - wonderful!

I had received this with a slew of randomly chosen imps, and I was going through them, assembly-line style. When I opened Jack (somewhat distractedly), I suddenly noticed a wonderful smell, and it didn't even occur to me it was from the imp! I even went into the kitchen to see what it was! Then I sniffed the bottle - how amazing! It doesn't smell like an oil or a perfume. It has a very strong "presence" as if it were something in the room with you. I'd say it's a hollow jack-o-lantern with a candle dripping wax inside, into which somebody has dumped a bin of Country Crock Butter and a sprinkling of "apple pie spice" (cinnamon, nutmeg - but very very faint). Buttery-yum! If you're new to BPAL I strongly suggest getting some Jack! It is one of BPAL's "Greatest Hits". It is one of the examples I'd use to show why BPAL is better than any other line out there - it adds whole new dimension. My sister gave me a big bottle of this for my birthday, and I gave her a big bottle for her birthday - completely coincidental - it's just THAT GOOD!

Ah, Tum - the only BPAL I have honestly NOT liked, hehe! My husband pinned it down exactly with a short story that started off with..... "When I was in school, one time I had a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich that I left in my locker over Christmas break, and when I came back......" It smells like old, yucky grape jelly that is waaay past its prime. I almost gagged! I've sniffed sooooo many BPAL oils, and have found a way to enjoy every one of them on some level, except for this one - I just can't describe it!

One of my favourites! Call me crazy, but it smells like VINES! If you are hacking away at kudzu or honeysuckle vines with a machete, trying to clear brush, etc. - it is that same greeny growing smell, I love it!

One of the first imps I tried, and one of the first 5mls I ordered! I don't pick up on the lemony scents that others have, I mostly just pick upon the creamy milky honey notes in there - it's a very rich smell, I think it would make a fantastic bath scent for salts, etc. When I hear the words "milk bath" I immediately think of this scent! There is kind of an oatmealy note in there too, which I might be imagining - I seem to pick up "oatmeal!" in a lot of scents, lol. I could very much see this as a right-before-bed scent too, for cozy dreams. Ah yes - there is a little gingery note creeping in - this is kind of like a ginger herbal tea with lots of cream and honey, that's what it is! The only complaint I have is that it does fade pretty quickly. It leaves a kind of clean, almost honey-oatmeal-soap scent on my skin after a couple of hours though, so it's not bad.

I just had to order an imp after reading the description and glowing reviews, and I'm so glad I did! Of course I automatically have an interest in anything involving faeries or otherworldly little people in general, so I may be biased, but I like this one a lot! Sweet, sweet, sweet! Sweet and creamy! Definitely can smell the milk, honey, and oatmeal in there. Somebody else mentioned maraschino cherries and I picked up on that as well. It reminds me a little of when I worked at Dairy Queen when I was younger - it smells a little like the soft-serve "DQ" mix we'd put in the machines, and the maraschino cherry connection too! So it's kind of a nostalgic smell for me as well. After wearing the notes all blur together more and tones down a little into a sweet creamy sweetness, but it's still very good. I could smell it about eight hours later if I sniffed hard at my wrists, so that's not too bad! Matt (my husband) thought it smelled kind of like the Little Debby Angel Food Cakes, hehe. I think I might just have to get a bigger bottle of this one!

I love it! I ordered a 10ml bottle of this one last night after trying the imp. Yum! I am a big fan of coconut, and this is perfect. It is a nutty, creamy coconut - not a sweet artificial coconut. It reminds me more of actual fresh coconuts, or coconut milk - almost like Thai Coconut Rice, lol. The hazelnut is definitely there too - kind of a toasted hazelnut, emphasizing the creaminess and nuttiness. Strangely enough though, I wouldn't classify this as a foody scent, nor a particularly sweet scent. Almost salty! It's even better on my skin, and it really stays with me - it's got more staying power than almost any of the others I've tried so far - I could still get wafts of it when I went to bed, having had it on a good 12 hours. It stays very "true" throughout as well - the notes stay pretty much the same after wearing. Love it love it love it!
