Well I got something totally different! IN THE BOTTLE: Sugared apricots, with maybe a very light alcoholic drizzle. WET ON THE SKIN: Very soft apricot-rose scent (there's a few roses out there that smell of apricots, damn me if I can remember a single name of one right now) that deepens as it warms up. Picks up distinct greenery--ferns, I think--& violet notes after about a minute, then a hint of carnations. After 5 minutes, this is one of my favourite smells in all the world--a high-end florist's. It makes me all teary-eyed for my floristry days! ;_____; A smudge of apricot-scented geranium after 10 minutes. There's a lot of greenery in this--but it's not herby (by that I mean "foody" greenery) at all--although, yes, you can eat roses & geraniums, I know. ^^ But you get what I'm saying. Even the apricot is a "flower" rather than a "fruit" scent. DRY: Gets a bit strident after about an hour, but as long as I keep my nose away from my wrist, it's not overwhelming. It tones down after a few hours, thankfully, & the scent stays steady & never morphs into anything funky. I never did get a boozy note at all. Throw was low-to-medium & duration was about 9 hours. VERDICT: Oh my stars, it's my second Keeper! Not something I'd want to wear constantly...but sparingly, it would be a wonderful & nostalgic scent to have on hand.

IN THE IMP: Grapefruit. I don't like grapefruit. Not sure I even want to put it on. But I like aquatics, whatever that has to do with grapefruit, so... WET ON THE SKIN: Grapefruit & the palest white musk. A wave of very fresh water-scent has washed over this, though, after about 2 minutes. Grapefruit still poking out now & again, becoming stronger after 10 minutes or so, eventually challenging & overtaking the water, then receding gracefully after about an hour. DRY: A mild, pleasant water scent, vaguely soapy but not too...more "clean" than "lathery soap"...& the very faintest undercurrent of grapefruit is adding a nice sharp citrusy "glow" to balance the water--not at all grapefruity. Low throw & medium duration--about 8 hours or so. VERDICT: Hellishly dark it is not, but it's just the sort of aquatic I've been looking for. I'm keeping it & when it's done I shall definitely be buying a bottle! (this is my first keeper, BTW, after long searching!)

My first review! Hope it goes OK. IN THE BOTTLE: Irish coffee & butter-pecan tarts. Very rich. WET ON THE SKIN: Buttery Irish coffee, same as in the imp. A hinting of oak underneath as it warms up. DRY: Buttery Irish coffee, but that oak undercurrent has soured slightly. Medium throw & lasting power--about 8 hours. VERDICT: This is the closest to an unchanging, one-note scent that I've tried so far--if you can call Irish coffee one-note. ^^ I like Irish coffee & I enjoy smelling it--but I don't want to smell it for 8 hours straight. The concept of this one had me so intrigued...I'm disappointed that I didn't get the full effect of the description. I wanted the old-book smell! Stupid body chemistry.
