    The Gladdener of All Hearts

Very odd...to me, this is spicy, cinnamon-y green apples It may be that I put it in the crook of my arm; maybe it would smell a bit different elsewhere. My skin may also be a bit weird right now, my hormones seem to be all out of whack. It's definitely not unpleasant but not what I was expecting at all. It has decent throw and lasts a good long while. Even if I didn't like the scent, I'd keep it because the bottle is so lovely - that same image of Lilith is my laptop's wallpaper

    Snow White

Ok, I adore Snow White. Love love love it. But only in the bottle and on my clothes. It starts out gorgeous and creamy and sweet on my skin. Seriously, I can't describe as anything other than creamy and sweet. No distinct notes pop out at me. It smells very much like CBIHP's Daffodil accord, but with pine instead of sunshiney grass in the background. After it dries a bit, it goes through a pine phase, which is totally fine - after all, I love Snow Bunny too. But then a bit later it just has this funky, musty, dirt odor that is completely unappealing. It's heartbreaking because I love this SO MUCH, just not on me. Like I said, it's great on my clothes and would probably work in a scent locket, but I don't wear chunky jewelry so I can't see that happening. Damn!

    TKO

I kept wondering what all the fuss was about for TKO...I thought, "surely it can't be that good??" WELL. I sniffed it at the last ECWC and immediately bought a bottle. Right after application it is a sharp, medicinal lavender with sugar lurking in the background. After 5 minutes or so, the lavender calms down and the vanilla sugar comes through. It's truly amazingly comforting. I used some tonight when I was having anxiety issues and it did help me to calm down. I've also been applying it every night. I don't know if it helps me sleep, but it is a lovely bedtime scent, and wonderful to wake up to.

    Snow, Glass, Apples

SGA is pure headache-in-a-bottle for me On me it is a very intense red apple scent with something amazingly sharp in the background. It lasted forever on my skin and had amazing throw but I had to wash it off after 20 minutes or so because I was getting a massive headache. I'm glad I got to try it, and also glad it's already found a new home where it will be loved

Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?

Exact same problem here, down to the fact that it's SGA and irreplaceable and the fact that an order that was shipped Monday arrived here today. Calling USPS is no help whatsoever. I'm more than a little upset about it edit: wtf I am in New Jersey too! Hmmmmmmm... A few months ago, the post office at Kearny held a BPTP package hostage/in limbo for like 2 weeks before they sent it on to my local. But to my best recollection, BPAL stuff doesn't have an intermediate check in point before going on to my local post office. Are you in Somerset county? Maybe something's going on with that 8/7 shipment. If I don't get my stuff, or see updated info, before the weekend, I'm going to officially flip and email the Lab. I'm in Bergen County...usually my lab orders go Santa Clarita, CA -->Kearny-->Fairview. Mine was shipped 8/8. And I already emailed the lab and was told that once it has left there is nothing they can do.

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

Chaos Theory IV: CLXXVI (176) This bottle must have been filled by hand, it's all sticky! When I first opened the bottle, I was assaulted by the odor of the flea collars we used to use on our cats. I wasn't hopeful However, on my skin it turns into an interesting vetiver/fur/resin scent...I really don't have anything to compare it to but I recognize the intense, dark green of the vetiver and the warmness of the fur in Fenris Wolf. There is some kind of resin or spice in there as well, making it a really dense, complicated scent. It works better on my husband than on me, but it's interesting nonetheless

    Strawberry Moon 2005

Strawberry Moon is a blending of strawberries and cream with light, dry lotus and soft ylang ylang and a touch of green tea and sage to bring it closer to Earth. This smells like...the 80's! As someone who loved My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake and all things artificial and scented, this brings back a lot of memories It's a plasticky strawberry but in a really nice way. It's something I think I would wear quite a lot, and it's something I would wear for myself as a comfort scent. I love it

    L'Autunno Bath Oil

Count me as another who slathered on the oil in the shower rather than using it in the bath It is incredibly caramelly-sweet in the bottle, but as soon as it was on my skin it was allll patchouli with a bit of resin in the background. However, it's a perfect, smooth, delicious patchouli, deep and mysterious. My bottle of L'Autunno is all wrapped up at the moment for a mini MnS tomorrow so I layered it with Chanukkiyah, and it is just amazing. All spicy, woodsy resinous goodness!

    Lampades

It smells purple. I mean, I'm at a loss for words here and I think I'll have to give it another go because all I think when I try to describe how this smells is "purple. it smells purple." However, I happen to like purple It's very fruity, and my nose interprets that fruit as grape. My imp is brand new though so it may take awhile for me to get the cranberry goodness that everyone else gets.

    Block Buster

I hope Blockbuster is efficacious, but if not it sure does smell nice! I don't get any spice or apples; to me it smells very strongly of wisteria, with maybe something buttery or creamy in the background. I happen to love wisteria, so this may yet be a big bottle purchase for me, efficacious or not!

    The Candy Butcher 2006

This is a gorgeous creamy chocolate in the imp and when I first apply, but it goes the way of so many others, ie it develops this weird dirt-like scent on my skin. It's not totally unpleasant but it's not really what I want to smell like, either.

    Masquerade

Masquerade is amazing. When first applied it is a very strong patchouli scent, but not in the nasty, headshoppy way that I usually associate with patchouli. It's a soft, friendly patchouli. Ever so slowly the carnation and orange blossom peek out. More than anything it reminds me of spiced oranges, and is incredibly sexy.

    The Knave of Hearts

I'm not one for foody scents or a lot of roses so I was skeptical when, in the imp, this smelled of buttery, flakey pastry. However, a few minutes after application it dried into a really lovely buttery/rosey/currant-y whisper of scent. It was sweet but tempered by the sharpness of the rose. This one reminds me a lot of Annick Goutal's Eau de Charlotte but in a softer, more complex way.

    No. 93 Engine

Right out of the bottle and on my skin I get sweet, warm resins. I absolutely adore this scent, it's sexy without being overtly "womanly" and my husband and I can share it. It's a cup of mead sweetened with honey and herbs, it's sacred resins in a shadowy stone temple, it's the wax cone of scent atop an Egyptian princess's plaited wig, melting in the sun and scenting the air, light yet rich. It's genius!

    Bruised Violet Compound

I wanted to love this but it smelled of body odor and rotting vegetation when I put it on. The scent is very deep, dank and green...I got no violet from this.

    The Antikythera Mechanism

OMG this is amazing Seriously, best BPAL so far for me. It's a gorgeous smooth, creamy, woody smokey scent. It's "strong" without being masculine, and just a little sweet without being feminine. And the tobacco doesn't smell like a dirty ashtray on me, hurrah! And it lasts and lasts, far longer than any other oil I've tried thus far. I am definitely going to be buying a big bottle of this, because not only do I love it, my husband does too!

    O

This smells like the kind of person I want to look like - beautiful, warm, sexy...it's almost like gorgeous warm sweet skin that just smells nice on its own, with no perfume. It's subtle and sweet without smelling like any one thing, except honey in the very begining. It's really amazing!! I can't wait for my big bottle to arrive.

    Saturnalia

I had really high hopes for this but it smells like beef jerky and cheap booze. I can't be walking around smelling like I've been boozing it up and chowing down on Jack Links.

    Cairo

I'm not usually one for sweet scents, and Cairo is certainly sweet, but I love this! It smells like Lemonheads candy with maybe a hint of some kind of blossom in the background. Lovely! ETA: it dries down to an almost rosey-incensey scent with the spicey lemon lingering in the background. I seriously love this blend; it's what I wanted Morocco to be. It has just the right amount of sweet, citrus, and spice.

    Jezebel

And here I thought I hated roses...Jezebel is all honey-rose deliciousness, but light and airy instead of staid and oppressive, as I usually find roses, and the sandalwood doesn't poof out into powder.. this is a little sweet for me to wear very often, but it is a gorgeous scent.

    Eclipse

I wasn't expecting anything other than almond extract, based on the scent wafting out of the imp, but on my skin it quickly morphs into a lovely almond/vanilla/cinnamon scent...I'm in love! And I'm not normally one for foody scents, but this smells like the most scrumptious cinnamon cookie. I wish it didn't itch though
  23. ElinaMakropulos

    Fenris Wolf

What a gorgeous, warm, male scent! It smells like antique quilts that have been hanging out in a log cabin and hung out in the sunshine to air. Just lovely!
  24. ElinaMakropulos

    Lyonesse

All I could smell was buttered popcorn, in the imp and on me

    Morocco

I really, really wanted to love this one, but it smells overwhelmingly, cloyingly sweet on me...and exceedingly generic, like a Britney Spears perfume or something What the hell, skin?! It also smells, as I pointed out in another thread, like the perfume this gawdawful temp we had at work would wear and so I can't sniff Morocco without thinking of her. I was hoping for something spicy and exotic, what I got was the perfume aisle at Walmart I'm going to give it another try in a couple of months and see how it goes...I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!
