I was hoping this scent would be more candy, strawberry, and grenadine than gin - but no such luck on my skin. It's definitely got a sweet element to it.. but it turns out to be mostly gin on me. It's nice, but strongly boozy scents just don't work well for me.

From the imp I get a lot of honey.. Hmm.. on my skin, it smells very similar to Dana O'Shee. In fact, they're almost exactly alike, even after a few hours on my skin. Dana O'Shee is actually one of my favorite scents.. but, yeah, I already have it!

It's leather! Really.. not much to say about it. It's definitely leather on my skin, but it doesn't come off as too strong.. I would not say this is necessarily a very masculine scent either, at least not on me. Very nice, and I'll definitely be keeping the imp.. Seems like it may have some nice layering properties as well.

In the bottle: Mmmmm, caramel, butterscotch, with a hint of apple.. On my skin it smells like butterscotch candies and apples, with a hint of something slightly floral floating around. It is a very light scent on my skin.. It eventually turns very floral and almost fades away.. (I'm thinking I may have to try this one again a bit later in the month.)

In the imp: patchouli.. On me: This is a dry, woody scent. A fragrant wooden box which holds incense. It's also very light on my skin, however. Interesting.. I'll keep the imp, but I'm not sure I'd seek more out if I used it all.

In the imp: Yep, that's frankincense and myrrh! A deep resin scent, thick and slightly sweet. Sadly, it morphs quickly into a sour powdery scent.. damn skin!

A light, invigorating floral and citrus blend. Tuberose, lotus and jasmine with a hint of lime. I can smell limes from the bottle.. not much else. Flowers have a nasty habit of going powdery on me. This blend is not an exception.. on my skin this ends up smelling like a bitter baby powder with limes. Not that great..

In the bottle it's very sweet, caramel corn and peanut brittle are very clearly here! Oh no, why won't this work on my skin! It's plastic, and it fades quite a bit. After about an hour it morphs into.. celery. Yes, that's right. Celery. What? I don't know.. *sigh*

In the bottle it's a sweet scent, slightly floral. Wet on my skin it's a little like bug spray, but that fades as it dries down. There is something in this that is similar to Thalassa or Thunder Moon.. something slightly ozone or aquatic.. Hmm.. At times it does get a little powdery on my skin thanks to the florals, but it never stays in that stage. This scent reminds me of a hot summer night, it is thick (yet light on my skin at the same time) and slightly sticky, yet light and airy from the florals and incense as well. It's a very interesting, sweet scent. Great for the summer months.

In the bottle I get a hint of something plasticky.. On my skin, it's a horrible plastic with a hint of vanilla. I had really high hopes for this, but my skin hates it (and to be honest, something about it just makes me stomach turn even when it is not on my skin). This scent broke my heart.

The scent is not bad, I rather like it actually, but I don't wear it for perfume, just a drop on each chakra point as instructed. I wear this when I know I will be meeting new people, or just when I feel as if I could use an extra boost. I'd say it helps my mood about 75% of the time.

In the bottle it's all chocolate. On my skin it's creamy chocolate and vanilla, sometimes with a hint of spice, sometimes with a little sweet floral.. mostly just chocolate, however.
-
In the bottle it's a heavy, boozy, sugar scent. On my skin this smells like burnt brown sugar. It ends up turning very sour/bitter and smelling rather nasty.. Makes me so sad..
-
In the bottle I smell mostly wine. On my skin this is a very thick an dark blend. The wine and incense are both strong and very bitter, there is a faint metallic feel in the very background. It turns into something very sour and bitter.. It's interesting, but not something I can see myself wearing.

The Wild Men of Jezirat al Tennyn (2006)
ShadowsDance replied to Heretic's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
I was expecting this to be a hot and spicy scent, but it doesn't come across that way at all on my skin. At first it is somewhat peppery, but it very quickly becomes a powdery somewhat-floral scent. Not what I was hoping for, and not something that really works on me.. -
The scent from the bottle has quite a throw, it's spicy patchouli, somewhat musky as well. On my skin I get the scent of a lightly spiced tea from afar. When I smell my skin from closer it's very faded and powdery however. This isn't really working for me..

In the bottle it is a light and sweet scent.. slightly floral, yet fruity at the same time. It's a very light scent, very perfumey. It's a very clean scent, and reminds me somewhat of shampoo or soap (without being soapy). I would put this in with my florals rather than my aquatics, I'm not getting that at all from it.

It smells a bit like cherry coke in the bottle.. Wet on my skin it smells like maraschino cherries. Oh! I bet that would be the almond, actually. For some reason, something in this is reminding me of sweet and sour sauce? I like sweet and sour, just not sure if I want to smell like it..

In the bottle: This is a dry powdery scent.. On my skin it is baby powder and lemon. And it stays that way.

As with all my other Atomic Luau Lounge scents I ordered this from the lab when it was live. Unlike all my other scents this one had not seen a lot of wear time.. Enough to slap on a "foody" sticker with it's name on the lid, and that's about all. Well then, lets give this a go.. Mmm.. rum, coconut, and vanilla all from the bottle. Spicy, warm, a little fruity but not exactly sweet. Cinnamon isn't listed in the notes, but there is definitely something like cinnamon on my skin. Maybe it's a spiced rum.. The vanilla starts to come out after a while. Sadly, it's somewhat of an artificial scent.. I'm not sure this works well on my skin because of this, but since I do love the scent I'll be keeping it for a locket or perhaps for my hair. It would be perfect for a day at the beach, or a hot summer night. Edit: Hmm.. so this does morph out of the artificial vanilla scent, and it turns into a warm cinnamon/clove and slightly vanilla.. which reminds me exactly of Pickled Imp. Strange! I'll have to try these two side by side one day..

In the bottle it's sharp, a somewhat spicy musk? On me I get a lot of musk, and it turns slightly woodsy.. This isn't a sweet scent at all, as I was hoping it would be. It's more of a dark and slightly powdery scent.. Ah well.
-
In the bottle: Sweet, and a little spicy. Rum and fruits.. On my skin there is a hint of something like generic perfume, or no.. maybe cologne. Just a tad in the background, which makes it somewhat interesting. It is mainly a fruity scent, though.. grapefruit and lime. Pineapple..? Yep. Sweet and tart. There's some rum as well, but not enough to make me really view this as a boozy scent. The ginger adds an interesting bit of spice as well, keeping this from being a super sweet scent.

Gift with purchase of the forum-only Election 2008 scents. No description available. Blah, sniffing the imp literally made me gag.. what is that? It's sharp, a bit floral, on my skin. Hmm.. is that myrrh? It gets a little minty at times, as well.. Definitely getting something that reminds me of The Organ Grinder, sarsaparilla I think. It eventually turns into a sarsaparilla and vanilla sort of scent, warm and a bit dry. It was okay, it grew on me a bit more as I wore it, but in the end it doesn't really seem to work out for me.
-
Hmm.. this was a somewhat spicy scent on me, heavy with something like patchouli. It does settle down a bit to become a more woodsy scent, and there's definitely a feel of mens' cologne.. meh, not really for me.

Huh, it's bug spray in the bottle.. On my skin it's a very warm scent. The olive blossom and sage are quite clear. It fades a bit on my skin, but doesn't totally disappear. It does make it hard to pick anything out, however. It's very much a warm resin and floral type of scent.
