Pretty florals-I'm a fan of gardenia-so I am really enjoying this in the imp. As other reviews have stated, this is a very gardenia heavy blend-heavy and a bit spicy/bitter. Elegant-like an expensive fancy soap-not "soapy" persay, but very much like fancy soap. Probably a bit "old" for my tastes. Overall, this is a very nice gardenia scent. Mature and refined, with a somber depth. Rose haters, don't worry, the rose is barely there. Gardenia lovers must give this a shot.

Salty! A salty green scent. Very salty. Very green. The saltiness kind of chills out when this is on my skin. A very intense green/ferny scent though. Still aquatic for sure-not getting any wine though O_o Yep, this was an aquatic-y green scent through and through-no wine in sight! Not my thing, but it dries down to a lovely soft breezy kind of ocean greenery scent.

This is an interesting sounding blend-it has some notes I love-saffron, bergamot, mandarin and nutmeg, and a couple that are usually doom on me-rose and woods. And then there is amber, which has the tendency to go to POWDER on me. Hmm.... In the imp this is mostly sweet saffron and woods-a little to heavy on the woods >_< I hope it won't amp on my skin! I like the rest though-the saffron and amber...the rose is just barely a whiff. Hmm...rose is coming out on my skin...rose and woods. Booo! The sweet saffron is still there, but it is being pushed further back by the woods. The amber in this made it dry down SUPER powdery. It mostly sweet slightly saffrony powder and woods. Meh! Stupid amber!!!

Whooooa! Strong! Rum, almond and spices IN YOUR FACE. Hmm...on my skin something in this is a bit weird...I believe it's the bay. I like the clove in this-it could use a lil more sassafras though-it is similar to other spiced rum/almond spice scents...not identical to any, but similar for sure. This dries down nicely-not quite so much of that in your face thing I was capslocking about before. This is a nice clovey-almond-rum scent. I like it, but it doesn't grab me-I'm sure I will have forgotten what is smells like by tomorrow. Definitely check this out if the notes sound up your alley!

    Velvet Unicorn

My brain pretty much exploded when I read the description for this-it just sounded so amazing. In the bottle it smells like cherry cotton candy-sugary and airy and oh so sweet! Kind of like a mix of Pink Phoenix and Snow Angel perhaps? On my skin-oh my, this is just so good!!!! Bpal cherry sometimes misbehaves on my skin, but it's not going weird or chemically here-it remains the strongest note, but has a sparkly sugar quality that keeps it light and airy! This is burst of sweet candy goodness! If you want to smell BRIGHT PINK this is your blend! Yep, magical awesome sugary cherry goodness! Unicorn in a bottle indeed!

    Velvet Tiki

GThis blend is amazing-it truly is the epitome of golden tropical bliss-sweet tropical fruits, headed up by coconut and pineapple combine perfectly with soft tropical flowers. Tropical vacation in a bottle :wub2:

    Velvet Nudie

Oh gawd, this smells soooo sexy in the bottle...askdjkalsdj...soft skin musk and delicate, sweet sugar cane and a whiff of flowers. OMG. So gorgeous. I had sniffed this at will call and fallen in love, but now I get to test this from the bottle and really savor it on its own. I had waffled on the past two Vulva scents, and now I don't regret it, because this one is for me-on my skin, it is just perfection-just melds SO well with my chemistry. Soft sweet sugar and musk and flowers-maybe a touch of lemon. So simple and beautiful. So sexy. *sigh* Yep, there are just no words to describe how much win this blend is-perfect gorgeous skin hugging sweetness. :wub2:

    Wrath

In the imp, this is very true to the description-dragon's blood with spicy clove and cinnamon. Rawr! @_@ Oh yeah, you better like cinnamon and clove to like this-they totally overpower the dragon's blood-I'm not usually sensitive to cinnamon but this is a little tingly even on me O_O Really this is like 99% cinnamon. Only a teensy hit of dragon's blood poking through. Yep, this was basically a straight cinnamony blend on me-a lot like er, Inferno I think it was. Nice if you like cinnamon which I do, but not very unique-I have other blends I like better :X

    Wanton

Pretty rose and sandalwood-I really like how this smells in the imp, but rose tends to go funky on my skin. ]: We shall see! Wow, on my skin this is basically SUP ROSE! Barely anything else. A bit of wood I guess, which I think helps this from going sickly rose sour-the perfect amount of sandalwood really. Just enough to ground the blend without being in your face. On full drydown the wood comes out a lot more balancing the wood and rose about fifty/fifty. This blend was alright-the rose never went weird or sour, which is great, but it just wasn't special or unique enough for me to warrant a bottle. Rose lovers should definitely check this out, especially if you are looking for an earthier kind of rose scent.

    Hemlock

Sweet sappy piney scent-really smells like super sweet pine sap to me! Not very evil or dark or herby! Wonder how it will be on my skin... On my skin this is lemony pine sap, lol O_o Yep, on drydown, same thing-super sweet slightly lemony pine sap o_O So bizarre!

    Fallen

This blend scares me-vetiver is my doom note-but so many other notes in this sound so good! Ahh...ok in the imp I get a HINT of vetiver, but mostly woody violets. Interesting and dark. Ooo, this is kind of sexy! Rich dark woods and violet-the vetiver is really just barely there and doesn't overwhelm at all! Mmm, I love the violet in this! Really makes the blend unique and blends so well with the woods. On full drydown I pretty much lose the violet (*sads*), and it becomes a dark, slightly dirty woods blend. The florals are just barely there and add a hint of sweetness to keep the blend from being too dark. If you are scared of vetiver like I am, don't be-it really isn't intense in this blend at all. Personally, I would have liked this blend a lot more if the violet held up longer. I cannot see myself purchasing a bottle of this, but I think it is a unique and interesting blend-I really do like Beth's take on the concept!

    Voodoo Lily

Oooo! Sexy! Juicy purple spiced lily-deep and dark! Very nice on my skin-dark and rich and spicy...I know I'm repeating myself, but I don't know what else to say-this is the definition of exotic sexy floral! There is something citrussy I notice when this is on my skin-kind of grapefuity O_o An interesting mix of sexy deep lillies, purple (YES ITS A SMELL >_>), spices and grapefruit (??). A very good blend-not sure I would seek out a bottle, but I can see wearing it if a bottle fell into my lap.

    Plunder

The scent of a pirate's bumboat, overflowing with stolen wares: tea leaf, cassia, cinnamon bark, clove, allspice, sandalwood, tobacco, peppercorn, and nutmeg. This smells like cinnamon tea! Cinnamon and spices and clove. Gah, whoa spicy clovey tea...damn I even get the peppercorn in there O_o It's maybe a bit TOO spicy actually-I have other cinnamon blends I like, and this one isn't quite as awesome as some of my favorites (Clemence is like, my ultimate spicy tea scent!). Overall, I liked this scent a lot-it's strong, has a good throw, and doesn't fade superfast. As it dries down the woodsiness comes out more and grounds the blend. If the description of this one calls to you, you have to check it out-a lovely spice mix blend-though not one of the most unique blends I have tried in this vein.

    Winter Maiden Bath Oil

I absolutely ADORE this oil. It is just beyond gorgeous-it's snowy, but not sharp or icey. Everything about this is very soft and muted-just perfect for a delicate winter oil. Rose fearers, the rose is not overwhelming at all-this has a floralness to it, but doesn't go sour the way rose can sometimes do. Ah, and the hint of blackberry...it is so hard to describe this blend because it is just so pretty and unique! I don't use this as a bath oil-I use it in the shower as a sort of body glaze I rub in and rinse off. Leaves me smelling SO good and my skin super soft. I will be so sad when I finish this bottle but at the same time excited to try more of the bath oils! I can't imagine ever living without this product!

    Black Dahlia

In the imp this is super dark smoky JASMINE. Jasmine haters beware-the jasmine is front and center! Yeah, on my skin this is like 99.9999% JASMINE. A more smoky jasmine, with a hint of magnolia, but way super uber jasminey. Yep, smoky jasmine all the way through. Jasmine lovers-try this, jasmine haters-stay away. I like jasmine, but I like it more in the background and not so quite up front, so this blend is a pass for me.

    Eden

I have been dying to try this blend forever! In the imp this is sweet fruits and almond! Yum! Almost fruity candyish...like a Starburst? I don't know where I am getting that from, but that's what it is like to my nose in the imp. Yep, on my skin this is super sugary sweet almond, honey, and fruit. Unfortunately, something in there goes a bit plasticky on me-almost like fake strawberry. I have NO idea which note is causing that effect, it is so odd. Yeah, for some reason this blend went kind of weird/chemically on me-by the time the weirdness faded, most of the rest of the blend had faded as well, leaving me with just a soft sweet powdery scent. I can see this being gorgeous honeyed almond/figgy fruity bliss on some people, but it just didn't agree with my skin for some reason!

    Thirteen (13): March 2009

Mmm! This smells very good in the bottle-deeep dark chocolate with a nice mix of spices (reminds me a bit of Green Label 13) and underneath it all that rich cherry core-cherry doesn't always work on me-but it is very promising here! Oh yeah baby, come to mama! This is super sexy dark chocolate/cherry on my skin-this is what Vice DREAMS of being. The cherry doesn't go funky at all-and is just the PERFECT amount. On my skin the spice mix starts to come out a lot more-alllmost a bit too much! Where is my dark choco going??? Grr! I am going to see how this dries down-damn, what an interesting blend! Hmmm, on full drydown I lose the cherry almost completely! Nooo! It really ends up being almost identical to Green Label 13 from '08 on me ;_; So much so that I don't think I would need both! This is still a great dark choco/spices blend though!

This is such an interesting scent-shining is a good way to describe it. It feels so bright white to me-a wonderful mixture of white musk and tobacco flower, with hints of coconut, oakmoss and amber. But I am a bit worried this may to turn to powder on my skin... Mmm, on my skin a get a lot more coconut! This is such a cool scent, I don't think I have anything like this! Mmmm...white musk, sweet coconut, and tobacco flower...so unique and pretty! The oakmoss and amber are behaving at the bottom of the blend-no weirdness or powdery doom. Hopefully it will stay that was as it fully dries down. Yep, while the blend did fade a bit faster than I'd like, it stayed gorgeous all the way through-this one even got the -omg you smell so good!- compliment from my ma. Total win!
  19. My bottle is labeled CC. Not sure what number that is! The first whiff of the bottle is BAM-sweet, spicy cinnamon! Maybe an itty bit of red ginger? Maybe not? DEFINITELY cinnamon though-the honey may be what's making it seem extra sweet! I am so confused, because I thought they weren't using common allergens in the Chaos blends, but this TOTALLY smells like cinnamon red hots to me >__< On my skin it is still sweet cinnamony goodness, with a hint of something more earthy/woodsy underneath. To be honest, I would never have guessed this even contained O! I love it though! Mmmm, warm and spicy! As this dries, the sweet honey and soft powdery amber of O come out as the cinnamon calms down. Woohoo! There's that O I know and love. The O really is the backbone of this blend, once that initial blast wears off. Much more soft and subtle, but still with a spicy kick! This blend was a total win for me, and I will definitely be keeping my bottle!

    Voyeurs Among the Cherry Blossoms

This is very pretty in the bottle-soft cherry blossom and moss with a touch of the vanilla musk-very lovely and extremely delicate. Hmm...on my skin the moss goes kind of weird on me-almost cedary/pencil-y. I love the cherry blossom and the vanilla musk, but unfortunately, I think the moss just goes a bit off with my chemistry. Overall, I can see this being an amazingly soft gorgeous blend on some people-it really is a well blended mix of the three notes. Unfortunately for me, moss doesn't always work, especially in a blend where it is more in the foreground than the background!

    The Zieba Tree

Ooo-this is super pretty in the imp! The musks, lemon blossom, orange blossom, and white peach are the most obvious to my nose. Soft and lovely! I'm not noticing too much sandalwood or resin. Oh, this is sooo gorgeous! Musky fruity florals! So beautiful. Almost reminds me of a more citrussy Hanami, as odd as that sounds! The only downside of this blend is that it fades rather fast. And if you were looking for a sandalwoody or resiny blend, you may be disappointed, since I scarcely noticed those notes. To me this was a beautiful musky sweet fruity floral-if you like lemon/orange blossom and peach, you really have to try this! My favorite of the garden so far!

    Shoggoth

This is an interesting white floral/lemony smell in the imp. The green coconut meat is quite apparent as well-what an interesting scent! Not your typical light lemony fragrance! It does go a bit cleansery on my skin though. This some of the flowers are going a bit sour and the lemongrass is a it overpowering. There's some note in here that is just turning a bit weird on my skin-I'm not sure which one. This was super strong lemongrass for a while, but by the hour mark, that had faded into a white-ish floral with hints of lemongrass. A little powdery-probably the amber. Very clean and fresh. An interesting blend, and definitely different than the other light lemony bpal scents I have tried.

    Gomorrah

O_o Ok, in the imp I don't smell anything except black herbs. No fig, date or currant. Just a gritty patchouli/herb type scent. WTF there isn't even patchouli in this blend. Ok, on my skin I get more figgy/date-iness and just a hint of currant. Thank goodness! This is very interesting-the herbs are still the strongest note on my skin, but the underlying richness of the figs/dates keep this unique and out of the blah-range. But within about 30 minutes-poof!-entire scent is gone O_o My skin just swallowed it up! Overall and interesting take on the concept but not for me!

    Olokun

HOLY AQUATICS BATMAN! >_O Yes, this is sweet salty aquatics IN YOUR FACE. VERY strong. Oh my god, yes, on my skin this is *SO* strong. Super potent! This is a slightly sweet aquatic-but basically just straight up aquatics-if you are fan of other bpal aquatics (Jolly Roger, Anne Bonny), you will want to check this out for sure.

    Boomslang

Hmm. I have been holding onto this decant for a long time. Boomslang was described to me as Sex Brownies. Now, when I was a bpal baby, I wasn't too fond of this, but didn't want to give it a true review until I was more well acquainted with bpal. I'm still a bit of a heretic because I don't wear Snake Oil *DUCKS* but I have grown very fond of some snake oil based blend (eg Lilith Victoria/Green Tree Viper), so I think it is worth a shot now! In the imp, this is still strong on the snake oil, with cocoa (not sweet/creamy chocolate, this is straight up cocoa) and teakwood and rice milk-every note is noticeable in this blend when sniffing from the imp. Ok, on my skin, the scent becomes far more intense, the cocoa and teakwood especially. I can definitely see how one might describe this as sexy snake oil brownies. Very rich cocoa and snake oil-a little intense up close, but quite gorgeous from far away. I am going to give this blend some time to settle on my skin. I'm still torn...it still may be a bit snake oil heavy/teakwoody for me... Hm, this has a very nice dry down-it really does smell as you would imagine from the description-very rich and sexy! The teakwood does calm down for me in drydown which I like-not too overpowering. Sex brownies is a good descriptor for sure. I am still not sure whether or not I will need a bottle of this, but I know I can't get rid of the imp yet. I just keep waffling-if you are a snake oil fan and a cocoa fan though, YOU NEED TO TRY THIS!!!
