    Fairy Market

wet, bluebells and sugar are the most prominent. there is the bpal grass note in the background, more like the after smell. dry, golden incense is in the background, but it is strong, a very nice grounding. this scent stays sweet, and i thoroughly enjoy this one.

    Fairy Wine

i was most looking forward to trying this one for the dandelion and sadly, i was disappointed. i havent yet found a grass note that has real meat to it--they all seem too soft and floral. in the same vein, there are so few bpal dandelion scents, of the few i've encountered they are brightened or floral-ized by other notes that i am not getting what i am looking for... wet, mostly sweetness in the vintage vein. this is possibly the honey but there is no dandelion here the fruit note that is here reminds me of noche buena. i agree with previous reviews finding an effervescent note. medium to weak throw for this one and the good part of the scent doesnt last more than 1.5 - 2 hrs. dry, this dries down weird on me..it turns to something like penny dreadful on me. hmm, good thing i only got a half-imp of this.

    Yvaine

i avoid bpal's lavender like the plague - it is way too astringent and diaper ointment on me. (one notable exception to that is one of my loves, bow & crown of conquest).... wet, yup- it is astringent lavender. but i am toughing it out cos previous reviews have said that it gets better dry, and it does get better. the lavender dries off to the background, out come the lush magnolia and crystalline-ness. it is rather nice - glad i tried it and i'll keep the decant but i wouldn't get a bottle of this cos of the initial terrible blast of lavender.

    Victoria

the rose is most prominent, its quality is most like peacock queen--all the brightness but less waxy. there is also a pretty nice vanilla element in here, it's kinda like the vanilla in Hope but it is not as heavily sugared and plasticized. if the lily is in here, it is contributing to the soft sweetness. oh goodness, i love this one! i tend to get all of the bpal rose scents, so i have a glut right now but when i get some disposable fundage, i am definitly going to buy a bottle of this!!

What do bottles and labels look like?

yep, I got one in the last couple of months and it was the standard GC label art. well alrighty then...thanks! bit of a disappointment, but then again, that would be only my second GC labeled bottle i buy too many LEs!!!

What do bottles and labels look like?

is the label for kitsune-tsuki the regular blue and lace white kind?? i thought that all GC was that way but then i got the bow and crown of conquest and was pleasantly surprised to see it had some art on it. just wondering if anyone has gotten kitsune-tsuki recently...please report!

    Coyote

the strongest note, which is by no means overpowering, is the doeskin--a slightly animalistic scent that i might have worried about if it was stronger but here it is interesting for its slight danger. that and the prarie grass, dried out in the sun for a day or two, so its not completely dry yet. on dry-down the grass note is the stronger of the two but the scent overall is light and forgiving. i love this!

    Nemesis

wet, a burst of smoke amkes way for cypress and patchouli, the combination coming off as spicy crayon wax to my nose. i dont much like patchouli and luckily the wax is stifling all of it from coming out. dry, i guess the wax was the fig note developing cos i detect that with the cypress as the strong notes (patchouli way in the background) with the dried rose, as in a bouquet of roses that was turned upside down and left to dry for a month. i love roses but in this dried form, it is not cutting it for me.

    The Jersey Devil

wet, i get alittle of the pine and more of the blackberry leaf (a la Glasgow) with a hint of the spice of tomato leaf ( scent i LOVE). all well balanced and not too sweet dry, the whole mixture melds together and becomes softened by an ever-louder cranberry note. this is comforting and i would prolly wear it close to thanksgiving. i never realised there was so much to my home state!

    Hi'iaka

wet, it is all vanilla-ed pineapple. very yum. dry, i smell greenery, like the passionate shepherd to his love, and the orchid dominating. a lovely sweet scent

    Sybaris

oh no, violet is pretty bad to me...and this one is no exception. sniffing my arms, i get an unflattering diaper ointment stew aroma. scrub it off now!!

    Ulalume

i received this imp in a random swap... wet & dry all i really smell is something sour with a whiff of faint peppermint lifesavers. i dont know if this one has been aged or something, but there isnt much here to give me a great impression of it.

    Wanton

wet, mostly a weak, sour rose that is intensely sweet--i am close to a sweet headache from it. dry, the sandalwood gives this an unattractive flatness, slightly spiced by patchouli, although i would not have called that spice patchouli had i not known it was there. not a winner in my book

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree

wet, blue lilac and white sandalwood are most prominent, giving a cool tone while honey grounds the whole thing. there is a hint of Asian pear (which is dissimilar to western pears) i cant really smellcherry blossom dry, this is powdery dry, like a pleasant women's deodorant. all in all, it is very nice, nothing offensive about it, nevertheless there are other cherry blossom bpal blends i would reach for before this one.

    Midnight

wet, there is an unpleasant vinegar (is that the catchfly?) coupled with soft white flowers. the sourness is sorta like cereus but more tangy and painful. dry, the tangy goes away but the vinegar aftersmell lingers. the soft flowers are much like the evening star but are ruined by the vinegar. this is definitly a night flower scent, not bright and sunny at all. luckily there is not much of a throw to this one. so disappointed...

    Brisingamen

apparently, i am 'blind' to this one, as all i smell is a vague sweetness. not much else to this one for me....

    Desire

wet, neroli, black musk, bergamot, and teak are the full, bottom notes. spme of the apple, rose red and vanilla peak through. surprisingly, i like it so far cos usually i cannot take the heavier, darker scents, especially those with neroli, blakc musk or patchouli dry, oh no no no the black musk and patchouli have come alive and stomped on all the other notes. this is way too heavy and black for me. i am going to try and age this one and see what happens

    Prague

i know the flowers crocus and snowdrop, i dont know their scents, if they have any. this is sweet, with a hint of the lab's snow note. a lily note softens it. not too complex, pretty and great for spring!

    Moscow

wet, rose and jasmine are abbreviated by bergamot and slight bit of tangerine. very well blended, all the notes are there and each softens the other. dry, more of the lily comes out, but the strongest note by far is the jasmine, a la LUSH's Flying Fox. rose (a la Rose Red), bergamot, and tangerine are present and accounted for; carnation isnt immediately apparent, it seems to contribute more to the lushness of it all. very nice and very very sweet. definitely not for someone who cannot tolerate jasmine though! ETA: i've read elsewhere that the jasmine calms down after a bit of aging. i am going to try this cos the second time i wore this, the jasmine was screaming loud. it was too upsetting--time out for you, moscow!

    Schlafende Baigneuse

wet, this is a "tonal" scent so well blended it is impossible to say what this smells like, except to say this smells yellow, in the tones quite like the painting. i smell yellow rose, a hint of mandarin and chrysanthemum on the edges. dry, pretty much no throw. a sweet, almost too sweet, but clean, "yellow" scent.

    Monna Vanna

wet, i smell rose, slightly sour--prolly the mimosa. the sharp sour-ness fades and the rose blooms; it's very alive and regal, like Peacock Queen but less dusty than She. the violet is coming out more and i think i am learning slowly (esp. after Melisande and Hope/Faith) that i don't like violet as much as the idea of it. violet becomes too 'urinal cake' on me. it's mostly a rose scent, tempered by violet. i dont really smell the other notes in here, but i am sure they do color the tone of this lively rose scent. ---- i like bpal roses and this one is nice. ....but, the violet comes out enough that i am going to keep the imp and forgo the bottle.

    Bat

wet, bat has the soft creaminess of moonflower & grey musk made sunny by honeysuckle, stock and orchid. this is very refined, light and clean. dry, this doesn't morph much...the different notes meld together wonderfully. it is a very beautiful, soft scent. this would be a nice daytime scent. i would eventually buy a bottle of this, but not just yet..as long as the salon doesnt go away anytime soon!

    April Fool

i am finally starting to learn my lesson and give the oils a day or two to rest. i think the journey across country just does something to the oils cos when i first got them, i smelled april fool from the bottle and it was just WEIRD--it was like pickles and vinegar. but now, after it's settled into its new home: wet, i get the softness of huckleberry and the mere hint of white rose, all fizzed but the tangerine. therer is an overall light, airy greenness to the scent. but not like grass, lighter than that. as it dries, i get more of the "lime green" scent i would envision from the label (which is GORgeous, btw). this reminds me of a less tangy calyx by prescriptives. overall, very nice and perfect for summertime. i am very glad i sprung for the bottle!

    Hymn to Proserpine

i wanted to like this one cos of the amber and what i suspected would be pomegranate, as part of the fruits. and while the two notes are in here, they come out wrong for me. the pomegranate is so thick, it turns sour and the amber gives the sour some staying power. then it dries down to what has been described as a resin, which to me means it is a scent that i just cant get rid of. it's all just too thick and bloody red for my taste. for me, there are better pomegranate scents to have and to hold: fruit of paradise (bittersweet without the heaviness) and swank (sparkling alcohol w/pom).

    Earth Rat

despite all of the notes listed, this one turned out to be rather straightforwardly melon. wet, earth rat is a very juicy honeydew. it is sweet and pleasant enough but i guess cos it's still pretty chilly in new jersey, i dont much feel like smelling this sort of thing yet. dry, the peony note comes out a bit giving the fruit a slight floral hue but this is still mostly melon. its ok, i will enjoy the decant and glad that i saved the money in forgoing a bottle of this one.
