    High John the Conqueror

I could certainly use some help through adversity right now, so I added this to my last order. Wet: Ew. EW! Oh, my god, ew. What is that?! Maybe it'll be better on. Wet, on skin: *gack* On me, it smells like cat pee and basement. I'm not kidding. Maybe it'll be better dry. Dry, on skin: Okay, now it smells like milder cat pee, but the basement and...pencil shavings?? are coming through. I've never had something react like this on my skin. I know it's just my chemistry. A friend tried it and it was much calmer on her. Me, I had to scrub my skin twice to get it off. WHAT is in this--someone tell me so I can avoid it in the future. Bummer, I really could use some good mojo! ETA: After re-reading everyone else's reviews, I wonder if there's something wrong with my imp. I get absolutely none of the notes other people are mentioning. I've given it to several people to smell and to try and it's unanimous. No grape, no floral, nothing sweet or green about it in any way whatsoever.

    Perversion

Okay, I admit it. When I ordered it after reading all the reviews I couldn't wait, but when I smelled it in the imp for the first time I wondered if I had made a horrible mistake. Did I? Read on to find out! (I know the suspense is killing you...) Wet, in the imp: Whoa. A little overpowering. I definitely smell the tobacco and the rum. It's...strong. Masculine, maybe. Not a fragile scent. Wet, on skin: Ooooooh, I smell that tobacco now. It's sweeter, though, kind of smoky. Heady. The strong perfumy-smell isn't quite so strong now. Dry, on skin: I'm in love. IN LOVE. The tobacco and the tonka work together wonderfully on my skin. You have no idea how hard it is to find a perfume that works on me. My skin lets it stick around for hours, too. The smell of the tobacco gets lighter over time, leaving just that smoky "edge" around the tonka. I don't know what the other ingredients are doing, but I assume they're in there, also adding that special voodoo that I love so well about this scent. It's now my signature scent. I've never smelled anything like it and I'm so delighted it works on me. It fits my personality too, surprisingly. It's a little...odd. But nice! I'm getting a big bottle.

    Schrodinger's Cat

Okay, my first review! Schrodinger's Cat is the most surprising perfume. I didn't order it, it was a frimp. I highly doubt I would have ordered it. There is NO WAY those ingredients sound right for me. Wet: Ugh. Ew. Hmmmm... Definitely grapefruit, but something pungent too. I think it's the reaction of the chocolate peppermint with the citrus. Wet on skin: Grapefruit comes through sharply, as does the tangerine. VERY citrus. Dry on skin: Lovely! It does smell grape-fruity, but not sharp. The pungent smell is gone, and something wonderful has happened with all the ingredients and my body chemistry. It smells light, exactly like what I imagine sugared grapefruit smells like. It's clean and crisp, citrusy but not overly so, with a touch of sweetness without being foody and a touch of perfuminess without being cloying. I'm getting a big bottle of this and am so glad it was included in my order! It's my second-favorite scent so far, and the one I wear to feel sun-shiny and confident. It has great throw, too. Hours after I think it's gone I get a whiff of grapefruit again. This perfume likes me. ETA: As time has gone on and I have gotten a big bottle of this, I like it even more. It's my "signature". I wore it today and was dancing around the house sniffing it. It's such a happy scent!
