    Wolf's Heart

In bottle: Clean, sharp, masculine, fresh. On me: sexy, subtle floral. Swipped hubby's poker cash with it and BPAL High John and he came back a winner

    High John the Conqueror

There's grape there and some frankincense maybe(?). Some sopyiness as well. I am used to different formulations of High John in terms of smell (one with frank, myhrr and dragonsblood with a hint of cinnamon and another that's just plain sweet), but in term sof magickal efficacy--i put some on my husband's cash before he went to a poker game and he came back with 4.2x the amount he put in the pot, plus his original money. I also touched the cash with some Wolf's Heart, so it wasn't a 100% controlled experiement, but I'm not complaining.

    Block Buster

Sweet, slightly spicy, inspirational. The cinnamon make my skin slighty tingle Looking forward to dressing candles with this and wearing it for it magickal purposes--it seems very effective so far.

    Ave Maria Gratia Plena

Very adult, mink coat and pearls scent. Expensive, luxurious, floral with citrus and faint spice. Someone mentioned "dept store perfume, not that that's a bad thing" and i have ot agree--very high end, not like Not what I expected, reminds me of my religious art poster, Maria Dolorosa de Monte Calavario, who is surrounded by jewels yet weeps. I would wear this when I want the sales staff at Barneys, Gucci or the Porsche dealership to pay attention even though I'm in jeans and a tee shirt. In other words--screams: MONEY
  5. LaLisa

    Magdalene

First whiff: made me want to weep--sorrow in a bottle, but in a good way, evocative of devotional tears and a spiritual edge. On me, smokey and rosey at the same time. Very sexy and spiritual. Great for meditation. Would def annoint candles with it and meditate on my Departed Beloveds--excellent I feel for reaching across the veil to those who have passed.

    Hecate

Magnificent three-faced Goddess of Magic, the Dark Moon and the Crossroads. She is the Mother of Witches, and the midnight baying of hounds is her paean. Her compassion is evidenced in her role as Psychopomp for Persephone, and her wrath manifests as Medea's revenge. Deep, buttery almond layered over myrrh and dark musk. I smelled this both in bottle and in an imps given to me my a friend. My first thoughts were "Who the almond--somewhere between marizpan and cyanide. And I so don't think of Hecate Herself as sweet nor almondy." But then I put it on. The almonds disappeared almost immediately, and I was left with just the faintest dark spicy smell that empwered and intoxicated me--the dregs of sweet wine ("must") used in the baking of Her ritual cakes, pehaps... I actually really like Hecate the scent and will use up the imp and then order another. ETA: My husband smelled my wrist and said, "It makes me feel woozy." ANd he's right, there's a definite intoxication to the smell and a sexualizing component as well.

    Rose Red

Very wet and green, with a full rich rose, not too sweet. I don;t care for most rose scents, though I adore the actual flowers and grow a variety of them, because they are just toooooo cloying and stinky sweet/old lady or chemical smelling. HOWEVER, Rose Red has more than just rose to balance out the flower's lush fragrance--it is the essence of holiday red roses, a wreth of greens studded with red roses. I detected some apple and spice as well, but my friend maria who also has some said it was pear, and after i went back and sniffed it--bingo--pear--a spicy ripe pear nestled in the greens roses. Delightful.

    Snow White

I bought Snow White at the urging of a grown up, and while in the bottle it smelled weird and plasticky, there was also a very beguiling and seductive almost musky lure to it. I also bought Red Rose, but that's another review. My husband, like the guy who suggested SW prefers SW to RR. For the first twenty minutes or so of wearing Snow White I smelled a weirdly sexy plastic smell, which I finally recognized as narcissus, aka paper whites, those lovely bulbs that flower now until spring--plus I figuredout why I associate them with plastic KIDDLES--does anyone recall those two inch high soft platic dolls that came in lockets and were named andscented after different flowers? At a certain point they all smelled the same and with man-made material underscent. Anyway, back to the review: My friends and spouse loved the way Snow White smelled on me, so I decided to keep at it, and throughout the day would sniff my wrist, pleasured by the faint muskiness and the narcissus which seemed to be heightened with a cool green. I really love this as a winter and early spring scent, it has a frostiness that melts into heady passion and I'll def be wearing it lots this season.

    Baku

Lavender and a dreaminess coupled with the crisp nightmare chasing of astringent (lemon? ecualyptus?) with the must mentioned licorice or fresh fennel maybe. Perfect pre-bedtime.
  10. LaLisa

    Banshee

Clean, awakening, bright, crisp. Not what I'd think of from the name at all. I'd love to use this as a room scent or in a pep-me-up bath; it's not a scent I would wear, but it's a scent i love! Sharp greens, eucalyptus, citrus with a sweet floral undertone. Really brightening and uplifting.

    Libertine

Very decadent smelling in the bottle--sandalwood, bergamot with the heavy sexy florals. On me, sexy, sweeter than my normals scents, slightyly spicy (the chamomille) with a whiff of post sex voluptuousness. Something I would wear again.

    Val Sans Retour

One of my favorites so far because of its light fresh scent Citrus with delicate florals, not overwhelming, I would wear this in summer definitely, it's seems really wholesome (the citrus notes) but on me the florals come out and subtly seduce. It's a keeper!

    Juju

Just a tad smells floral spicy with a sopy undercurrent, but more than a whiff is overpowering, musky. I put a drop on my wrist and had to wash it off wiht soap and alcohol because of the heaviness. However, I'm using it, not wearing it, so I'm more concerned with results than scents!

    Traveling with BPAL

Make sure each imp is labeled as perfume and sealed with tape; put them in a bag with all your other lady-items that you WON'T open on the plane--deodorant, tampons etc. Keep the stuff you need on the plane in your purse, while the other stuff is packed in your carry-on. Dress as straight as possible. But this is no guarantee you won't be searched. One of my girlfriends who looks NORMAL NORMAL NORMAL always has her bag checked because she packs a Hello Kitty change purse and a ton of make-up; guess Homeland Security wants to see what the hip colors of the season are. When we travel together we factor in 15 minutes for a cosmetic Q& A. Who knows if they'll confiscate the imps. Ship them to your sister's and save the hassle and worry Airplanes are closed environments, so I try to keep perfume, oils, scented products to a super-minimum. What I love and think smells great could really annoy the person (who then starts sneezing) a couple rows back.

    Paris

Super sweet in imp, so much so I couldn't bear to put it on. Friend of mine who is a floral/sweet freak thought it was sweet as well, but tried some. She wasn't thrilled by the way it smelled on her, but after about 20 mins it was okay for me smelling it on her (she handles florals well), but she still didn't like the way it smelled on her. We LOVE lavender, so not sure what was up, maybe the lotus just took over from the spice and lavender...
