  1. Oh, wow! Thanks for the list Edens Sixth Day!! I actually have a decant of Liz that I have yet to skin test.... Will have to try it now!! And Boomslang and Mme Moriarty. It's been so long....

I am afraid that for some odd reason The Antikythera Mechanism did not play well with me and turned really smokey... *sigh* I wish it smelled on me the way you describe it CaudaPavonis!! And Habu... Hmmm. And Judith Victorious? I don't think I have ever heard of that one! Need to give the Salon scents a bit more love!!

Do you guys think that aging is best for all of the Snake Pits? I did a small decant circle for them a year or two ago where I got to test most of them. I have to admit that after testing them once or twice I swapped them off pretty quickly. Might need to get ahold of some of those again.

Haloes!! I can't believe I forgot Haloes!! That one has the same glowing feeling as the others I listed in my original post. Where the scent just becomes something.... intoxicating! That really is the only way to describe it.

  2. Oh! Thanks, Hillary!

I am afraid that I can't do black musk though. For some odd reason, most every scent with black musk has turned to strange baby powder on my skin....

Huh, haven't actually tried Paduan Killer Swarm yet and definitely need to retest Mme Moriarty again now that tastes have changed! Hmmmm, I don't think I have tried Tamora either. Yay!! Thanks!!

  3. Okay, I have been on a scent lull recently. There just aren't many scents that appeal to me these days including some of my old favorites. It is quite disheartening, so I would love to go on the search for new scents that are in the same family as those that I still love to wear.

Wild Men of Jezirat al Tennyn: Fiery, primal, and precociously diabolical: red amber, Spanish moss, Indonesian patchouli, ambergris, red pepper, two cloves, and vanilla flower.

Snake Oil: A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.

Glowing Vulva: Cream accord, amber, teak, and lotus blossom.

Marquis de Carabas: A splash of bay rum, leather, dusty black wool, massoia bark, and opium residue.

Each scent is so rich and intoxicating to me somehow and I would love to find more.

    Thanks!

-ETA- I would also love to know what you guys think the category that each scent fits in to. Which families do these scents belong in? I just have no idea what to call them...

  4. Tea rose and gardenia are often death notes on me, but I had to try this one anyways for the jasmine and vanilla...

On the skin: Sweet jasmine. Not bad at all! Huh, I will need to try this one again. For some odd reason, I can barely smell it... Did my skin at it all up?

  5. On the skin: Wow, this is sweet. Myrrh maybe? A sweet resin with hints of pepper.

Huh, after a bit I start to smell some earthiness. It isn't bad. Not something I normally wear, but I actually quite like it!

  6. On the skin: I think I am mostly getting tobacco and the rum with a smooth sweetness that must be the tonka. Wow, this one is strong. Must have put too much on.

Huh, it is actually really growing on me. I think I need to try this one again only with more of a dab than slather.

  7. … Our Grand Guignol perfume is a shot of sweet apricot brandy; just enough to settle your nerves after a ghoulish, gory brush with the macabre.

On the skin: Fruity alcohol. Slightly floral. Whoa, after a bit this turns quite floral. An apricot blossom almost?

Huh, it's interesting. Not my thing, but interesting.

  8. On the skin: Strawberry and the scent of (what I believe is) red musk. Pretty much musky strawberries!!

After a bit, this scent gets a bit bitter. Must be the grapefruit.

This really isn't my thing. The bitterness is starting to give me a headache....

  9. Actually this is a very pleasant cherry booze. Normally cherry turns to icky cough syrup on me, but this is actually quite tasty. Makes me think of redvines. Yum!!

After only a short time, the cherry booze fades quite a bit and now I am getting an enormous rush of vanilla. Wow, this is unexpected! I wasn't expecting to like this one, but it is kinda growing on me.

Huh, this scent disappeared altogether on my skin really quickly. Ah, well. Not for me then.

  10. Well, I had to try this one even though I am kinda frightened of the cinnamon....

On the skin: Hmmmm, this is quite a tasty cinnamon, but still mostly cinnamon. This one isn't a harsh spice though. Very creamy and pleasant.

After a bit, the cinnamon fades and this scent is just generally spicy and pleasant.

I don't think this scent is really for me, but it is definitely nice.

  11. On my skin: The greenness of cucumber with the sweetness of cake. Maybe a hint of tea.

After drying a bit, the cucumber has faded a bit and now I can mostly smell cake and breadiness.

Even later, I can't smell cucumber, but I am definitely getting more Earl Grey.

Hmmmmm, I am afraid that even the hint of cucumber is throwing me off. It just isn't for me....

  12. Ooooh! Dark and incensey! Wow, this is good! No hint of smoke! A sweet incense (from the plum?) yet this doesn't smell fruity.

Hmmmm, I think I can slightly smell something a bit soapy (the amber?), but it is still pretty good!

I will have to test this one again!

    -ETA-

    Slightly soapy smelling incense.

    Not for me at all.
