  1. Unreleased prototype, no scent description given.

From the bottle, this is a citrus (at first I thought orange, then lemon) and metallic blend.

On my skin, the citrus comes to the fore and is very tart. Today I thought lemon, then lime!

Unfortunately it didn't last very long but I also only put on a teeny amount. Will test further with a heavier amount.

  2. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
    -- Matthew 11:11

The birth of John the Baptist coincides with the Summer Solstice, and in keeping with the eternal rhythm of the universe, John understood that as the sun’s strength begins to wane after the Summer Solstice, so did he move aside after preparing the way for the Winter King, Christ.

Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

He must increase, but I decrease.

    -- John 3:28-30

St. John’s holy day is full of holy significance that is so primal and archetypal that it transcends any one faith. It is a merging of the rituals of Midsummer with symbols of Biblical faith. On this eve, prayers to God for bountiful harvests and fertility are said over St. John’s blessed bonfires, a leap over the sacred flames brings good fortune in new undertakings and unions, and the waters of rivers and lakes bring renewed strength, vitality, and spiritual cleansing.

A summer bonfire, with frankincense and myrrh, bay rum, and white rose.

In the bottle: Smoky bay rum and frankincense.

On my skin: The white rose and myrrh both come out and sweeten up the smokiness without being overpoweringly floral. This remains a darker, smoky fragrance with a hint of spicy sweetness. Very nice!!

  3. In the bottle this is a pretty tart strawberry.

On my skin the green comes out a lot more -- almost overpowering the initial strawberry but it also sweetens it up.

I love it and it's beautiful of course. But I'm not sure if I like this one quite as much as the original. But since I only have an imp of that....

  4. Unreleased prototype, no scent description given.

This version is very different from the previous version that I was lucky enough to get an imp of.

In Egyptian mythology, Set was the god of the desert and necessary chaos.

I am getting vetiver, red musk, myrrh, tobacco, black orchid, maybe some fruit gums??

After the intial vetiver blast retreats from my skin, I am left with a dark fruity floral.

Cinnabar, derived from Greek kinnabari, is a mineral, mercuric sulfide, occuring in red crystals or masses. Used as a pigment (bright red or vermillion). Also a red resinous juice of a certain Eastern tree, which was believed to be a mixture of dragon's and elephant's blood.

A light yellow oil, this one is interesting and very different. It is spicy, like caraway, but not really foody. On the skin, a more medicinal fragrance appears but I can't pin point exactly what.

    Medium throw.

If this is not the correct place to put Hearth, since it did eventually become a released scent, please let me know.

I haven't smelled the released version of Hearth, but this one doesn't seem like it is very close.

This is pine, winter berries, and snowy notes. It actually reminds me quite a bit of Skadi.

Astraphobia, also known as Brontophobia, Keraunophobia, or Tonitrophobia, is an abnormal fear of thunder and lightning, a type of a specific phobia. It is quite common in humans (particularly the young), and especially dogs and cats. Ceraunophobia is specifically the fear of thunder, but not lightning.

I was expecting something with ozone but what I am getting is eucalyptus and menthol.

  8. Unreleased prototype, no scent description given.

The first thing that came to mind upon sniffing this was the little teeny bottles of perfume that my mother or grandmother gave to me. I believe they were Avon samples. Arsenic totally reminds me of the Hawaiian Ginger.

Sniffing next to Marae, they are very similar in feel.

I'm guessing some Coconut Oil, Monoi tiare, Gardenia, Ginger, etc.

  9. Unreleased prototype, no scent description given.

I think I expected more honey or floral, possibly jasmine or ylang.

Instead what I am getting is a very green floral. It's very fresh. I want to say possibly aloe and green tea, perhaps some melon, and lotus or lily. Possibly freesia?

  10. Unreleased prototype, no scent description given.

This was my favorite of the two unreleased Eve versions available.

This is sweet golden apples. Not tart in the slightest. I get a vision of golden delicious apple slices dripping in honey. There is something almost floral in the background, perhaps apple blossoms.

Edit: Tested this one again today and while is does remain apple, there is a floral that is coming up as well. Could be some white rose and again I want to say apple blossom.

  11. This oil is a very dark brown in color. It's thick and a little sticky.

I like it much better now that I did when just sniffing the bottle at DD.

In the bottle, it is a dark earthy smell. A sweetish dry patchouli, tobacco, musk, amber, darjeeling?, benzoin?, lavender?

Reminds me in feel of blends such as Uncertain Horror or Scattered Gloom, Lunar Eclipse, Penumbra, On Darkness, etc.

  12. A tetramorph is a symbolic arrangement of four differing elements. The term is derived from the Greek tetra, meaning four, and morph, shape.

So I'm trying to smell for four different things but not coming up with them!

Beeswax and possibly a little of a woody note. I mistook it for sweet incense at first.
