    Tattered Lace

This one starts out smelling a bit like lemony tea while wet. After the dry down it morphs to a sister of Black Lace but without as much throw. It disappears pretty fast on my skin.

    Switch Witch Q&A - Fall 2011 Round

September 8th From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? I've tried a bunch already at will call -- hoping there will be even more at this next will call in September. I actually think I'm most excited about the two Forum Only scents -- Sprinklecake and Halloween: Las Vegas. Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I'm not super into nail polish, but my TOES are always painted. My son just stole my Blood Countess BPTP polish, so I'd like some more of that. Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? Yes -- many. But I can't think of anything right now except the funny ones like from Monty Python, The Tick, or Princess Bride. *facepalm* Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... I really love the Yankee halloween patchouli scented candle. And their other black candle that smells like men's cologne -- midsummer night or something. I actually make my own candles as well and have worked as a chandler for Sweet Spirit Candles. I used to sell PartyLite and have a METRIC ASSLOAD of 3 wicks, votives, tealights, etc. But I still wouldn't say no to more snobby candles. Because... flove. I even have the candle lamps that take utility candles. I am not picky about color, although I prefer them in my favorite decorating colors (black, white, grey, purple, blue, wine, etc.) I like a HUGE throw. I love pillar, jar, votive, three wick... I don't like scented tealights as much because I generally only use tealights for tart warmers and I don't want the smell of the tealight to compete with the smell of the tart. Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? Heck yeah! I love wrist warmers and long pointy shawlettes (especially like Hitchhiker or any of Martina's patterns. She is awesome with the really long shawls.) I like black, purple, blurple (blue-purple).. Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? sure! pickles, jam, beef jerky... and sweets too. Maybe if I had more options for non-sweet edibles? My mind is a blank. What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? The Velvets and pretty much anything on my wishlist, especially the TAL's, I could really use some TAL's right now. Yo, yarnies! Do you Ravelry? If so, who are you over thar? I answered this already in my initial submission, but I am misstwilight. I am a complete yarn snob hoar. Social Media? Pretty sure I answered this on my initial submission as well. twitter = mstwilighteyes, livejournal= miss_twilight Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? And if so, could you provide a link or a list? I included my wishlists on my initial submission (amazon, etsy, thinkgeek, etc.) and there are links in my signature as well (wishing & sw help, then click on sw help.) Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? I use a PC. I'm a unix geek but I also have windows 98, windows xp, windows vista, and windows 7. and an ipad. and an iphone. What is your favorite animal? I can only have ONE?! I love Friesian horses (and horses in general), bully breed dogs, ferrets, bats, rats, corvids... What are you going to be for Halloween? Like I think that far ahead? If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) I would know when I saw it... I have many examples of artwork that I admire on my etsy favorites list. I'm drawn towards dark gothy things and love celtic knots. Again with the corvids, ferrets, horses, bully breeds...and gargoyles! How do you feel about nick-knacks? meh. I have very limited space that is already completely filled with knick knacks and perfume bottles. What traditions (family, holiday, or otherwise) are important to you? All of my traditions are important to me! They help me keep track of the time of year if nothing else. In the fall I love to visit my favorite corn mazes, carve pumpkins, etc. Do you like going to the movies? Yes and no. I like to go on weeknights when no one else is around - I really am uncomfortable around a lot of other people and I get grumpy if someone is kicking my seat or blocking my view. or talking/crunching loudly. What are your favorite restaurants? My favorite large party restaurant is Buca di Beppo. I love various Indian, Thai, Ethiopian, and Mexican restaurants too. Do you play any video games? Sadly, yes. I have played Ultima Online for over 10 years, I love the Zelda games (started on Nintendo, last played Twilight Princess on the Wii). I have been known to play Guitar Hero occasionally. Do you like any anime? Yes, but I haven't watched anything new ... new being like the last 15 years. Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? I could use a case for my 1st gen ipad and I need some screen cling covers for my iphone. how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? It really depends on the jewelry. I have some jewelry in my etsy favorites. If it were from Stardust I would probably be pretty excited. I am NOT excited about dangly earrings, I only wear studs. How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? I *really* don't cook very much. I'd rather have something cooked and sent to me. Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I would die for more 9 drawer Ikea FIRA boxes. Or 5 drawer. Or any of the FIRA models. Or heck, I could use some more tea boxes. I have a few small boxes on my etsy wish list. Muppets: yea or nay? Murdered muppets, yay! Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? I enjoy Calvin & Hobbes but I don't have any special affinity for any of them. Favorite Mythological Creature?: Hippocampus, Unicorn. Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers I have a few gothy hair things on my etsy wish list. I could probably use some more hard headbands with teeth. Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now?? Right now my head is almost shaved so I really don't need any hair clips. September 9th Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? Yes! I would love to try more of the TAL incense; I have the Samhain: Sabbat incense. I can do loose/resins, cones, sticks, whatev. I might need some more self igniting charcoal and a bowl of sand though... I love all kinds. Patchouli, sandalwood, nag champa, nightspell, amber resins, all kinds of resins. - Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? Yes. And I'm pissed that Pottermore put me in HUFFLEPUFF. I wanted Ravenclaw or Griffindor. Pissed enough that I want to delete my account. *grumble stomp stomp gnash gnash* - If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Amazon is always a winner. Couldn't complain about Villainess, Scent Addict, Soap Box Company, or many other stores either. Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? ALL of them? I really enjoy reading the re-written fairy tales and I collect the colored fairy tale books. Oh, and I collect Arthurian fiction. If you RP, tabletop, forum, or otherwise... Do you have any original characters you'd like to see art of? If so, please give information! Even if it's a link to a web page or a profile or picture! I used to play a lot... some of my characters are now immortalized as test characters in GURPS Cyberpunk. I don't think I need any artwork of them. If you could see anything, what would it be? Can be a person, an event, a landmark or monument, an object, etc. And it doesn't have to be on this planet, or in this time period, or in this reality! Probably ancient Rome, Green, Egypt, and Britain. And Alexander the Great's horse. And lots of gargoyles on churches and structures in Europe. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? I curl up on the couch with a book, tea, and my snuggly doggies. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I really would like The Last Unicorn comic series as well as The Guild. And I'd love to have the hard cover graphic novel collections of Sandman. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? I used to play flute and violin. I started on Guitar but never took actual lessons and then my son stole my guitar back. I've always wanted to be able to play the piano. Does anyone garden? And if you do, what do you grow? If not, would a starter garden kit be something you'd be interested in? I would love to have my garden back. At one time I had over 50 different types of roses (mostly purple and all fragrant) and 11 different types of lavender. I love herbs. I want to have a nice knot garden, shade garden, night garden, kitchen garden, rose garden, butterfly garden, and of course a vegetable garden. I have a bunch of "seed bomb" kits on my Etsy favorites. I think I need to get a bunch of wildflower seeds to sprinkle everywhere in the woods... we have a lot of full shade and partial sun areas. No full sun. And since I hope to get some more honeybees, I need a bee garden too. And something for the hummingbirds. Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? I think my decorating is fun but my brother's (soon to be ex) wife always found it scary, so really I guess it depends on your religion and perspective. Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? Ankh, Eye of Horus, corvid (totem), wolf (totem), horse (totem), horse celtic knot, raven knot, ferret knot. I love swirls. Again, you will see some of the symbols in my favorites on etsy. I am at least consistent. Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc?: meh. Not really my cuppa. September 10th What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? I'm not really obsessed with anyone per se. I do like to look at cute actors such as Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, etc. I love Depeche Mode, especially Martin Gore. Lately I've been getting into Abney Park. Author wise, I love Robin Hobb, George R.R. Martin, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and many others. are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? I want them alllll in candle form. *sigh* If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? My dogs are on a grain free diet so that is their only restriction. They have their own wishlist section on my Amazon list. What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? I missed out on all of the Bat's Day scents this year, so those are high on my list. Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? I have lots of prints on my etsy favs but I don't really have a lot of room to hang *anything* right now. If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? I'd love a GC for Prescriptives but otherwise, my skin is totally sensitive and I'd prefer to buy my own things (unless I have it linked to my Amazon wishlist in which case, feel free!) Exceptions would be things like your favorite long lasting eyeliner (pencil, creme, liquid) in black or dark purple, mascara, eye shadow, etc. Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? I really prefer tea these days. I drink mostly black tea but I wouldn't say no to wonderfully flavored greens. Not a big fan of rooibos or white. I do like herbal teas to an extent but I dislike chamomile with a passion. Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) MP3 or actual CD. I'd love some Abney Park albums or any new albums by Electronic, The Cure, etc. I believe I have a CD section on my amazon wish list. Are you going away for any part of this round? Dunno yet. I'd LIKE to go to Disneyland for Halloween but since we had a bunch of emergencies this summer/fall already, I am teh broke. Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? I am pretty picky about my music but I have received some really nice mix cd's from BPAL folks, so I can't say NO. If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? Well, it depends on where they're going and what the souvenir is. Postcards? Sure! Trinkets? Not unless I specifically collect them, such as NMBC or Gargoyles. Or if they are something that I would absolutely love. Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? I go boating, quad and dirt bike riding, do agility with my dogs, huge fan of horseback riding, geocaching, hiking, etc. Wish I had a swimming pool because that and horseback riding are my fav exercise. Any witchee's with a ravelry account have any favourited patterns that cost money that would be a welcome gift? Oh yes they would be welcome. I have a lot of patterns in my queue that are "Wishlisted". Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? I do have a job in cubicle land and I love cube toys! Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? meh. Musical movies? Broadway shows? I like music from a few but I'm not an uber fan of any. Do you have an Etsy shop? Do you know of any Etsy shops that are Switch Witch friendly? My mom is setting up an Etsy shop right now - mostly spinning/knitting/crocheting friendly. Most etsy shops seem to be Switch Witch friendly, I've never had a problem with buying things for my Witchees. Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? I would totally squeal if it was NMBC or PotC related! Oh! And the Haunted Mansion! Anything Gothy is cool. I'll pass on the Twilight Tower knick knacks though. I bought the Mad Hatter tea when I was there in May. I would love to try some of the other Disneyland tea or cocoa. And their candy bars were the CUTEST but I didn't buy any for myself. I'm a huge Eeyore fan too. I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! As stated previously, I really like used books. I'm ok with antiques and things that can be thoroughly cleaned. I forgot to mention that I collect Starbucks Mugs, Starbucks Bearistas, and Neodymium glass, the latter being mostly depression era so found at second hand and antique stores. Not so hot about used clothes, shoes, undergarments, etc. September 11th what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? The Cadbury Mini import bags from World Market! As far as "grocery store" chocolate (which I am too snobby to eat except around halloween or easter, haha) I like Kit Kats, 100 Grand bars, the caramel covered apple pops, almond M&M's, Reese's peanut butter cups (although I prefer the Newman's peanut butter cups), etc. I can't think of anything else. I'd have to go walk through the candy section at Target. Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. Shower gel, emulsifying sugar scrubs, and really oily salt or sugar scrubs. I love the scrubs from Arcana, Paintbox Soapworks, Villainess, and Haus of Gloi. I'm trying to do no-SLS but I haven't found any really exciting shower gels without it and I still have a ton of LUSH shower gels, although I am out of Tramp. as far as soap bars go, I do love soap bars -- BUT I am a soaper and I make my own.. and I have a closet that is so full of soap that the soap is going bad. Especially the LUSH soap. I just can't use it fast enough. So *please* do not send me soap, I am still trying to use my huge stash. I need to start giving it away!! How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? Ohhh why must you ask this question now when I am feeling chocolate deprived?? My tastes go back and forth depending on stress and hormone levels. Chocolate bar wise: I love the "Naga" bar by Vosges Haut Chocolate, the "Hot Masala" bar from Dolfin (and their jasmine tea bar too, yum!), the peanut butter bar and the mint bar from Truffle Pig, the Cadbury Fruit & Nut bar, Crunch Bar, & Whirly bar (but it has to be the import -- not the fake Cadbury from Hersheys), the Seattle Chocolate Company "San Juan" bar or truffles (salted chocolate), anything from Cocoa Velvet but especially the rose caramels, Godiva's salted milk chocolate caramel bar, Milka milk chocolate bars, Rittersport milk or dark chocolate with whole hazelnut bars, Frango mints, the Honeycomb from Boehms (local), Fran's chocolate especially the salted caramels. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I also really really love drinking chocolate and cocoa (mostly the snobby kind, like the Vosges Parisian but also the Salted Caramel hot cocoa from World Market and Ghiradelli double chocolate cocoa. And Scharfenberger sweetened cocoa.) I have a ton of chocolate bars, chocolate truffles, caramels, drinking chocolate, etc. on my etsy favorites and on my amazon wishlists. My favorites are really the smaller batch snobby stuff, especially small local places. I don't normally eat Hersheys or Sees unless I am desperate for chocolate and it's right in front of me or the only thing available. Frango, Cadbudy (imported only!), Milka, Ghiradelli, Godiva, and Lindt are bigger companies but I think they are ok to good quality and I will definitely eat those. I am not so found of Dagoba anymore since they were bought by Hersheys but sometimes I'll get one of the Dagoba Chai bars to see if the quality has gone back up (it hasn't yet.) Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I don't really use beads. I have some yarn, beads, and crochet hook to make a scarf with but I am unmotivated about starting the project. Maybe someday I'll learn how to make jewelry and stitch markers after which I will want tons of skull and gargoyle beads. Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?!: FLOVE CARAMELS. Especially sea salt! As you will notice if you look at my etsy favorites. Anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek? Yep, I included my Think Geek wishlist on my sign up questions and it's also linked from my SW Help page. Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? I would love a huge wrap or table covering/runner. I love black, purple, blue, wine, grey... designs? swirlies! celtic-y! As far as fabrics go, I love things that easy to wash (assuming table runner/covering) but I also love natural fibers (acrylic = ick!) so... cotton? I do actually hand wash a lot of things too, so other natural fibers are also great. Silk, cashmere, wool. Does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? I do! And I love gemstones too. September 12th If you have kids, would you be interested in getting things for them? And if so, what are they interested and what sizes are the wearing now? My son is 21 and doesn't live with me. But he DOES love BPAL... he even has a scent locket. Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? Yes!! I have the kindle application on my iphone and ipad, but I also have ibooks. I can use .mobi and .pdf for sure. Would you be interested in a felted handbag? Do any of these styles appeal to you? http://tinyurl.com/3o2epzl (there's at least one guy-friendly style, too!) ooh! I love felted bags. My favorites are 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 15 and ESPECIALLY 12!!! DOMUKIN!!! I have a huge book of patterns for crafting felted bags but it seems I prefer to have people make them for me. Are there are patterns, motifs, etc that you especially like? I love swirls - like Tim Burtonesque type swirls. Celtic knots. Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? Perhaps, rabbit, perhaps! I do collect Starbucks city mugs so I have like 500 coffee mugs. But occasionally I find other mugs that I MUST. HAVE. Like one with a bat on it from Fred Meyer -- had to have. And the "Mr. Tea" ones from Etsy? Again, must have. Would especially love a special glass to drink out of. If you're a tea drinker, is there any specific tea you would like to receive, not just the kind/flavor but also the type/packing--i.e., tea bags, loose tea, compressed, etc? Honestly, I am a bit of a tea snob. I would REALLY REALLY like OMG LOVE YOU FOREVER if you sent me some Butterscotch tea from Mariage Frères or tea from Dammann Frères. (see edibles section on Amazon wishlist.) I like loose tea but sometimes I use bags (although the tea snob in me screams "LOWER QUALITY! LOWER QUALITY!" Sometimes you just gotta drink tea from a tea bag -- and I like a lot of tea that comes in bags, so ... I have to shove my inner tea snob into the corner and tape her mouth shut a lot.) I really could use some more gold filters (see amazon wishlist) to steep tea. I do work for an extremely large coffee & tea company so I have access to a lot of tea, but nothing as tasty as Mariage and Dammann. I drink mostly black tea. I love flavored -- butterscotch, chocolate, anise (!!), cardamom. I have some wonderful chocolate chili from a friend in Germany. She also sent me some Anise and I LOVE IT TO DEATH. She's the evil enabler who originally sent me the Butterscotch Mariage that I would LOVE to get more of. I'm hoarding my small amount like crazy. I also love the Aveda tea, Egyptian Licorice Mint yogi tea (I'm totally out! It's on my amazon wish list!), and sometimes I get a hankering for coconut flavored black or green tea (but I'm totally stocked on those, thanks.) We have a really nice tea store or two in Seattle - sometimes The Tea Cup on Queen Anne has Dammann tea. Sadly, since I work graveyard, it is hard to get there during business hours. I also love rose flavored black tea, jasmine pearls, mint, lavender... I could use some more Good Earth tea too (the original flavor, not decaf.) September 13th How would you feel about kitchen towels and other similar household objects, if they are pretty or a souvenir? I'm all over kitchel towels! How did you dress up for your last party or compulsory-formal-dress occasion? I don't really do formal dress. Most of the parties I attend are either full blown fetish-goth wear (in which case I wear a leather corset, black skirt, leather boots) or very casual, in which case I wear BDU's or something. Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) Not especially. I play with some online or on my ipad/iphone but I'm good with what I've got. Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? Nope. It would take a lot more than 10 words! How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? Heck yeah! I am obsessed lately with Honey flavored things. And Vanilla flavored things. And I love Butterscotch schnapps & Irish cream (buttery nipples!!) What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) YES PLEASE. But NO NUTS. I can't stand crunchy things in my fudge or brownies. Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? I can take it or leave it. Every once in a while I'll buy Mochi in the freezer section at our local Uwajimaya (usually red bean or green tea.) Does anyone like kimchi? Er.. I don't know! Can you believe I haven't tried it? Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? I have no idea what those are. Anything from the update ya'll are liking? You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? Sprinkle cake, Halloween: Las Vegas, more Samhain Incense, the Samhain Sabbat TAL oil, hair gloss (snake oil, honey, frankincense clove), the bath brews, and pretty much every single thing from the BPAL Halloweenies and BPTP. I'll have to go add to my wishlist when I have a free moment. Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? I don't have anything from the latest update, I love sorbetto. Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes? Nope. NOt into sports. I am "forced" to follow Monster Truck Racing (I guess that's a motorsport) because my DBF drives "Captain USA" as a back up driver. I don't mind watching equestrian sports. How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? Don't really need. Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? In between. It doesn't make me angry, but I don't hug it to my chest and dance around with it either. I do like glittery makeup, hair gel/spray, etc. Would prefer not to be glitter bombed by loose glitter in packages. How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? I like weird and unusual ones or amigurumi. I have some plush monsters from Monster Nursery, an amigurumi pit bull that dixiehellcat made for me, assorted ferrets, bats, etc. I have one of those cute pink cthulhu's with the big eyes on my amazon wishlist. They sell them at Dark Delicacies -- I squeed when I saw them. how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Sure! Except I have about 1500 bottles so how would you choose which to label? When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? Jamba Juice "Cold Buster" smoothies, Tea, books, fire, soup, sleep, sometimes movies, snuggly doggies, luxury socks (cashmere!), long hot baths with BPAL oil, blankie, fluffy pillows, and someone waiting on me hand and foot. OMG and the "Kiss my Face" brand "Cold & Flu Soothing Bath & Shower Gel" is the BOMB. I'd really like to try the BPAL Panacea blend ELIXIR XI: OOF too. I use GRR and BITCH a lot. What constitutes ultimate luxury to you? (go crazy!) Well, having my own private island, jets, helicopters, servants, servants for my servants, servants for my dogs, a stable full of friesians, and more money than I could spend in 10 lifetimes. Not having to wait line, excellent food, clean high thread count sheets, being pampered and spoiled. Having people be POLITE to you! (Seriously, customer service is dead.) Cashmere, Mead, Tawny port, high quality chocolate and truffles, really good cheese, etc. What do you really NOT want? Scarves and soap. Unless of course they are the best scarves in the world that were made by you in my yarn and color choices. Or the soap is my most favorite scent and was made by you. Or is Snake Oil soap. Or soap on my wishlist. Or made by Yewberry. interested in anything from Lush? I have a love and hate relationship with LUSH. I love a ton of their scents though, and would like to try some of their perfume. And I love their shower gel scents but dislike that they are SLS. I could use some more Ocean Salt and some more moisturizer since that didn't make me break out (I don't remember what kind, it's on my amazon wishlist under bath and beauty.) I love bath bombs and sugar scrubs - I haven't bought anything from Lush since last holiday season. Oh, I love the Silky Underwear powder too. And T for Toes. Would like to try the Vanilla powder. I'll add things to my Amazon wish list as I see them. FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY, PLEASE NO SOAP THOUGH. * I like beets in soup, such as borsht. I've never had them roasted, I might like them. I love other roasted veggies, especially carrots. I don't like beets steamed or boiled, or at least I didn't when I was a kid. (I used to try to hide them in my glass of milk.) But really, why do we bring up beets for every single switch witch round? Paintbox Soapworks still has the Beet It scent, just saying. I have it in Sorbetto in my shower RIGHT NOW. * I like the "petite" brussel sprouts from Safeway (safeway brand -- what is it called, president's choice?) - they are tiny and succulent and not bitter. I don't like really large tough bitter brussel sprouts. * I like anchovies in my caesar salad. Sometimes on pizza. And I love kippered snacks on crackers. * I like black licorice but the ikea salted fish shaped licorice is a little too much, kthx. I'm not really a huge licorice fan when it's the candy stuff filled with corn syrup but give me some anise flavored black tea and OM NOM NOM. anise caramel, anise fudge... In other words, please don't send twizzlers or anything with corn syrup as a main ingredient. I would be tempted to eat them but I really don't want corn syrup-y candy. * I am *not* a fan of marzipan. I will take most anything rose, lavender, jasmine, or cardamom flavored. I love the rose and jasmine pastilles! * I am not a fan of nuts in my chewey things, except for turtles and pralines and things that are *supposed* to have nuts. (ie, I don't like aplets and cotlets - those are like turkish delight, right? - because they have nuts in them. It could just be that I loathe and detest walnuts.) But keep the nuts out of my cookies and baked goods, kthx. * I like mushrooms. * I love olives, especially garlic stuffed olives and kalamatas. * I like goat cheese. And blue cheese. And cotswald. And gouda of all types. CHEESE, GROMIT! I especially love salad with fruit and cheese. Like apples, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, strawberries, etc. with blue cheese, goat cheese, or whatever pairs properly with said fruit. And candied pecans. (I think I am hungry right now.) * I like raisins in oatmeal raisin cookies. I don't like them in cinnamon rolls. ptooie. I second the golden raisins; I use those in my broccoli salad. And OMG SO GOOD IN THE MORROCAN COOKING. And in indian food. * I like ginger. I like pickled ginger, fresh ginger, ginger chews. Nom! (Not so much the Ginger from Gilligan's Island, though.) * I like fresh mango! And dried mango but prefer to stay away from sulfites as mush as possible. Which sucks because I LOVE summer sausage, ham, beef jerky, bacon, etc. But where I can avoid sulfites, I do, and there is dried mango available without it. We used to get canned mango in Panama (my uncle was stationed there for a long time. I got to visit.) NOM NOM NOM. * salted caramels and chocolate = yes. But I am kind of a chocolate/caramel snob, I readily admit it. Please don't buy me a bug of kraft caramels. *makes face* hand made caramels are the nom! especially the ones without corn syrup. * Sugar Skulls -- I've never had a "real" sugar skull, but I don't think I would eat it. I would happily accept the Vosges chocolate "Sugar skulls" or the skull lollipops. * garlic - yes please. fresh, roasted, in goat cheese, in chocolate chip cookies, pickled, garlic garlic garlic. I miss the garlic festival that one of our italian restaurants used to have every fall. Garlic chocolate chip cookies, garlic cheesecake (goat cheese), roasted garlic, garlic oil on pasta, NOM NOM NOM. * pumpkin -- YES. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin risotto (with oyster mushrooms!), baked pumpkin used as a shell for soup, pumpkin curry, gimme gimme. * spinach - yes! cooked, raw, baked in things, yes yes. I love it on pizza, in salads, in spanakopita, mmmm. * Not a meringue fan. * Cilantro is FTW. I would put cilantro on everything if I had it handy. I love it in sandwiches (raw), on pizza, in salsa, on mexican food, I use it when cooking anything that takes The Holy Trinity as a base (or mirepoix, soffritto, etc. depending on cuisine type.) I use it in broth. with corned beef & cabbage. indian food, thai food, rice. It's SO versatile!! * cupcakes are full of win. But I prefer spice, chocolate, lavender, etc. to plain vanilla/white. although I'll take vanilla buttercream frosting any day of the week over chocolate. I think the chocolate frosting is usually too heavy. Around here we have Cupcake Royale and Trophy Cupcakes that are my fav places, as well as Sugar Rush Baking Company. * Avocado - yes. especially mixed with cumin, red pepper, and garlic. Or with cilantro, onions, tomatoes, and lime juice. do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? That sounds yummy! Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? It depends on what it's made of. Flat paper or fabric? sure. The metal ones with beads? Not so much. I tend to just use a thick cardstock type paper bookmark most of the time. usually a postcard or something. Do you blog? Would you like a header for your blog, a layout, etc? No thanks. But my mom could use a banner for her etsy store. How would you feel about receiving a Groupon deal for something in your local area? If there is anything you WOULDN'T like, mention that also. Er, I usually buy whatever Groupons I want. Same with Restaurant.com -- when there is 90% off sale I get the GC's for all of the restaurants that I like. My suggested would be to just make a SOOPER SEKRIT switch witch e-mail address (gmail is free!) and send me questions about a particular item and I can say yea or nay. Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? I usually order out. I do make the dogs their own raw diet so I could use more measuring cups and measuring spoons. I am also on Team Mead and Team Honey. Seriously, I am down to about 3 bottles of mead. ACK! Thank goodness my mom brought me another gallon of honey in August, I was running out. I go through honey like woah. I would never say no to honey. This includes honey scented perfumes!! I haz a sad that all of my honeybees moved out of my cottonwood tree but I have my own hive now and we will hopefully get our apiary going someday. I have a full beekeepers suit and other necessities. I just need to order some bees. I would love to try a new variety of mead and honey! I haven't ever had Avovado Honey and I love trying unusual ones. Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? Yep. I put on the Stalking/Services spreadsheet that I'd be happy to be a postcard minion. I love receiving post cards too. How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? That falls into the range of knick-knacks for me. I don't carry around a lot of stuff and don't want to carry around a lot of stuff. I already have enough with my ipad, knitting, lip balm, etc. However, again, if it were completely customized for me with gargoyles, purple, grey, stripes, NMBC or whatever, I would probably squee like a little girl over it. So YMMV. How do you feel about maple syrup? Yes! I don't like fake-y syrup like Aunt Jemina or whatever it is that people use. I only use real maple syrup. (and I don't shop in large grocery stores, I stick to co-ops and small natural ones most of the time, so I am really behind on normal grocery store food.) Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? I am old enough that I can say I watched them all when they were new in theatres. I would watch them again, and I have. Many times. But I am really not the hugest fan of Star Wars OR Star Trek but I don't hate them either. I have a question, mainly general, and not witching related, but I have a few things that I do every Switch Witch round, would you find that boring and unoriginal? It's not like the entire package is the same all the time, but there are a few things that I try to include in every SW package I've done. It's not boring and unoriginal. It's TRADITION! (Wait, wait, he always waves at the gate.) Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) I'm watching it on Netflix right now! (starting with the ninth Doctor.) I get bored at work and watch a lot of Netflix. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? Sure! And someone mentioned Game of Thrones! Yes yes! Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. Flove beef jerky but not pepper. Regular, teriyaki, brown sugar, go for it. If it's encrusted in pepper? Not so much. Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work? I do actually do most of my updating and stuff at work, so if there is nudity I should probably be warned. Team Tofu? yes. I usually prefer to get tofu over meat at mongolian places and love tofu in my soup at thai places. I'm not vegetarian now but I was one for many years. I'm open to lots of tofu things. Anyone love Buffy/Angel? me me me. Wedon fan here. Firefly, yes! Witchee: How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? Most gummies are full of corn syrup, so that is a no no no. Witchee: How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? There is a TIPPR deal right now for skinit.com that I am seriously contemplating purchasing ($15 for $30 worth) because I want NMBC, PotC, and Alice skins for my laptop, ipad, and iphone. I haven't ever looked at Gela skin because Skinit already has the perfect ones. There are, like everything else in the world that I want, on my amazon wishlist. I'm a virgo. I organize. Anything I see that I want? I use the universal wishlist button and stick it on my Amazon wishlist. Seriously. And the wishlist is all broken down into categories. Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? Please no pumpkins. I am not a fan of orange. And I don't really like cutesy ghosts but I'll take anything raven, bat, or skull related, cutesy or not. I collect gargoyles and display gargoyles & skulls all year long; our boat is named The Jolly Roger complete with accompanying graphics. The DBF is named Roger and is incredibly positive and upbeat, so really it just fits. I love decorating with gravestones too. And I have skull cookie jars, salt & pepper shakers, skeleton hand salad tongs, silverware shaped like bones, etc. ALL YEAR. I collect NMBC stuffs and when I was at Disneyland I *really* wanted the Nightshade jar. Maybe I'll pick it up when I go back to California this October. My fairy tales are both dark and disney. Maleficent! How can you go wrong with black, purple, and dragons? I have Maleficent MAC makeup stuff. Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? Yes, I have double piercings in my ear lobes (I had more up to the top of my ear but I let them all close.) And my tongue is pierced. I'd kind of like to do my nipples again but the first time they never healed and it was a pita always cleaning the crusties off and adjusting my jewelry 500x a day (I'm sure people thought I was just playing with myself.) I wouldn't say no to another tongue barbell since I only have one that is plain surgical steel. I have a TON of cool body piercing wishes on my Amazon wishlist, sizes included. Other than that, I only do studs in my ears so please no dangly earrings of any sort (unless they are on my wishlist specifically.) How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? meh. Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? I am always looking for my fav movies on DVD. I have a huge amazon DVD wishlist and I don't mind getting burned dvds. Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? I have never seen Duran Duran (GASP, I know since I loved them growing up) and my BFF is giving me two tickets for next Friday! woo! Wonderland tea I purchased some of the Wonderland Mad Tea Party blend when I was at Disney in May. I'd love to try some of the other Disney tea blends, but I'll be (hopefully) going back in the last full week of October so if I don't receive any before then, I'll probably buy some for myself. Now... if my Witch could somehow hook me up with a reservation to Club 33 (HA HA HA! I KNOW! But I saw some people mention in the Disney thread that their company has a membership... so it can't hurt to ask. I'd like to see how they've changed from 20 years ago when I was last there!) or hook me up with some discounted 1 day passes to Disney and Universal, that would ROCK. I can get slightly discounted passes from "perkspot" but it's really not that great of a discount. oh WITCHEE (not that i have you yet) would you be interested in something like this? https://lostcrates.com/how-it-works Er, no. Thanks. how do you feel about lip balm? Love it! Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? - I prefer the regular size tubes. I hate the little tiny tubes that Haunt has. Oval or round are both ok. No tins please. Favorite flavors? - In the Better Botanicals I like the Rose Mint, Ginger, or Cardamom. Otherwise I generally like honey, rose, chai, vanilla, jasmine, and I can deal with mint. Lime might be fun. Flavors to avoid? - Chocolate in general. Not a huge fan of orange, grape, cherry, strawberry, or most fruit when it comes to B&B scents. Favorite brand? - Lately my favorite brands are Bunny Butt Apothecary (in my etsy wishlist) and I would LOVE some of the Better Botanicals Lip Balm, which I have linked in my Amazon Bath & Body wishlist. Better Botanicals is one of my FAVORITE EVER but my co-op no longer carries it. I can deal with Burt's Bees honey lip balm. I have a bunch of tubes from "The Morbid the Merrier" on my etsy favorites as well; they used to have the tiny tubes but it looks like they have regular ones now. I'd like Haunt if they didn't have the tiny tubes. I haven't tried Haus of Gloi balm but I was eyeing their Rose flavor. I'm also really interested in trying the vanilla rose cacao lip balm from Flying Bird Botanicals (favorited on etsy) along with their drinking cacao. Brands to avoid? - I *just* bought some Starborn Alchemy balm and it is grainy. Ick. I hate grainy lip balm. It's also on the "Too slick" side for me; I like buttery over oily. I also DO NOT LIKE "my lip stuff" - again, they are too slick & oily with not enough solid butters or beeswax or something. Do you need more right now or are you set? - yes I need more! Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? - I usually order a bunch and then order more when I'm on the last tube. But I don't think I could have enough unless by some chance it didn't have any preservatives and the oil went bad. Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? - No thanks How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? - Not interested unless by "art supplies" you are including yarn or knitting supplies. How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? - No thanks. If I were to let you loose with $20 in a drug store (CVS, Walgreens, etc - basically a pharmacy with an attached mini-mart), what would you get? - I rarely set foot in such places since I generally get things in bulk at Costco or shop at Co-ops. If I do stop by it's usually because I NEED cough drops or cold medicine, feminine products (although I usually make the boy go buy them for me, srsly!), anti-perspirant,a card for someone, or something that might be on sale such as Fair Scone mix or Pike Place Market tea. (Our Bartells always has interesting food things on sale. My favorite is the Pacific Creamy Tomato Soup that comes in a box.) If someone wants a particular kind of halloween or christmas candy then I tend to go in to a drug store. Or, duh, if I need a prescription of some sort. The last time I went into a drug store it was to purchase an eyeglasses screwdriver because my frakkin fairly freaking expensive sunglass screws keep unthreading. I need to put some super glue on them and screw them in with that. Most of the drug stores around here don't have B&B products that the co-ops have. Or high end chocolate. Although Bartells does carry the Seattle Chocolate Company stuff, and their San Juan bars/truffles are pretty good. Darling Witchee, would you enjoy farmer's market pickled veggies (green beans, garlic, asparagus, etc) or fresh canned peaches or something of that nature? Dill pickles and garlic! Yum! Although from experience, things like this are really heavy and hard to mail so I would understand if I don't get any. I love honey from markets too. And rose or lavender jelly! The West Seattle Farmer's market has spiced blackberry wine -- I keep wanting to go get (another) bottle but it's soooo hard to get to West Seattle by 11am on Sunday. Do you prefer color or white photographs? Nature or abstract? As a framed photo? I probably prefer black/white. I have a bunch favorited on etsy if you want to look. But again, I don't really have room for artwork right now. I wish I could put a bunch up -- it would be things like gravestones, gargoyles, crows, skeletal winter trees, etc. I may be going to the Chiles & Frijoles Festival this weekend. I'm not really sure what all I'll find (doesn't that sound promising), but I'm guessing lots of chiles and pinto beans and related things. Interested? Er. If they have the sweethots type chilies, yes! Amigurumi, yes or no? YES... as you can tell by my Ravelry Queue & favorites, assuming you have stalked me that far. What are some of your favorite paintings? (famous or undiscovered?) Feel free to link to examples! How about favorite prints? Omar Rayyan's "The Favorite" Jasmin Becket-Griffith's prints, especially the Notre Dame fairy/gargoyles such as The Secret of Notre Dame. I wish that Phantomwise still had her black/white tarot series in the etsy shop because I have always coveted The Lovers. There are some awesome etsy artists who do Pit Bull stuff to benefit rescue, such as this one. I've always liked Michael Parkes' Gargoyles. I was lucky enough to see the Van Gogh exhibit at the Smithsonian when I was visiting some friends in DC in 1999 or thereabouts - my favorites were Starry Night over the Rhone and Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette. Starry Night is nice too but isn't my favorite; I do like the swirls and colors but I wouldn't really want a print of it. I have a cool framed print from winning a contest at PhotoWOW. Here's Jake modeling with it, since it is of him! I'm sure there are more but that is just what I can think of now. If you could have an image painted for you - sky is the limit - what would it be? Hm. Hard to say. I love all sorts of things. Maybe my dogs looking at gargoyle-y with bat wings. This is my one of my favorite photos of Jake and Lela from a Bev Sparks photoshoot (www.dogphotography.com.) I've been considering ordering a much larger print of it (I only have a small photo.) Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? I'm pretty set right now for makeup brushes. Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? Nope. Three Favorite Kinds of Tea: Pretty sure this has been asked and answered already, but THIS WEEK it is: 1. Mariage Freres BUTTERSCOTCH black tea. 2. Aveda "The Tea" 3. Anise flavored black tea. (If we're talking about bubble tea, I prefer the Honey Milk Tea. Or Lavender. Or Jasmine. Or Rose. I like tapioca pearls.) Three Favorite Scents of Candles THIS WEEK. 1. Witches Brew from Yankee 2. Spiced Vanilla from Colonial Candles of Cape Cod (aka PartyLite) 3. Patchouli. (See #1.) what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Sprinklecakes and Halloween: Las Vegas. Maybe an imp or two of the new GC's. Thai & Ethiopian. I like Pad Thai just fine but my favorite noodle dish is Phat Si Io (also, Pad See Ew or Pad Si Ew) -- I freaking love the huge soft hand shaved noodles that most (good) places use. I also flove (vegetarian) ethiopian food. My favorite place ever is a little hole in the wall in Denver - they had the BEST ethiopian coffe and coffee ritual. I had a favorite place in Dallas too, I can only remember the name because it seems to be super common for Ethiopian places -- Queen of Sheba. (The Queen of Sheba in Seattle is not a place I will go again. ptooie.) So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I would say no. Sometimes it's hard for me to get myself into a frame of mind in which I am able to be social with other people. And my house sucks, I don't really ever want anyone to see it unless I have lots of time to clean first. It takes me a long time to let my walls down enough to be comfortable with someone unless they get me drunk, in which case all bets are off. (Or if I have a security blanket, sometimes in human form, with me.) I guess I am sometimes really good at pretending that I don't have social anxiety but... I do. Usually Will Call is a safe bet if you want to meet me, although I am not usually being social, I am usually being a minion and fetching things. Although if you wanted to meet AFTER the round at Knows Perfume or for coffee or drinks, that would be cool. Especially if I could drag my boyfriend or other people along to ease my anxiety. Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? Of course! Go back to school is one. Skydiving. Dancing. Exercising!! Traveling. Knitting ALL the things. Cleaning. Painting the upstairs and getting new carpet. Putting away or getting rid of all of the things in the house that we don't want that belonged to R's dad. Unpacking the shed with all of MY belongings and getting them put away in the house, especially my books, bookshelves, and gargoyles. Planting a knot garden. Getting more roses. Fixing the yard so the soil would be good enough for herbs/roses. Acquiring a horse again. More quad riding. Getting my motorcycle endorsement. Learning to play piano and/or guitar. Winning the lottery. Being more social. Going to Farmers Markets. Painting my BPAL boxes or having someone paint them for me. I could go on and on and on. All I really do is work, sleep, work, sleep, watch netflix, occasionally knit, read, and sometimes go out on weekends when I'm not sleeping or reading. Put your current mp3player (I am the anti-apple, so no ipod ), winamp playlist, what have you, on shuffle, list the first 10 songs: How about the LAST 10 songs from my iphone shuffle? (ok, 11 because I can't count and went back too far.) 1. Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars 2. Duran Duran, The Chauffeur 3. David Bowie, China Girl 4. Crowded House, Chocolate Cake 5. Coldplay, Clocks 6. The Art of Noise, Close (to the Edit) 7. The Cure, Close to Me 8. Tears for Fears, Closest Thing to Heaven 9. Kate Bush, Cloudbusting 10. Depeche Mode, Comatose 11. The Crystal Method, Coming' Back Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! I like druzy quartz type rocks... geodes... sometimes I pick up cool rocks. I like gemstones, polished or not. But just like a hunk of basalt? er. not unless it had some personal meaning. If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? I like super elongated scarf shawls. Like Hitchhiker or Trillian! I think most of Martina's patterns are elongated. I prefer purple, black, blue, blurple. I am allergic to acrylic. I prefer merino, merino cashmere, merino silk, etc. I am a total yarn snob. (Ignore the non-snobby yarns on there from Michaels or Jo-Anns, most of those were gifts or things I'll use for people who don't mind non-snobby yarn.) AND DANG IT. THIS ENTRY IS FULL!! I HAD TO MAKE A SECOND ENTRY!!

    How full is full?

I bought some 2004-2005 bpal oils from a seller on another forum. She said they were "full". When I got them, they were all different levels. Blue Moon was both full to the shoulder. Lughnasadh was about 3/4th full. A few others were only 3/4th full. When I asked her about it, she got REALLY defensive, like personal attack defensive. She swore up and down that they came that way. *shrug* I once received a bottle of Glowing Vulva directly from the Lab that was less than half full. They replaced it. Mistakes DO happen!

    Weeping Branches Moon

Weeping Branches Moon was mostly plum on me. It smelled fabulous!

    Victorian Rose Milk v1

I love Rose scents. Love love love. This one is no exception! It definitely is a milky rose but there is something else with it that is almost fruity. Perhaps cherry or almond. Luckily that goes away pretty fast and this dries down to a lovely but strong rose fragrance!

    Switch Witch Spring 2011 Q&A

Baked Goods? Yea Nay? Yes please! If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? I really prefer my recipes online (allrecipes.com is my favorite) so I can change quantities, print them out, get them dirty, etc. Or view them on my ipad while I'm cooking! I'd love Meilin's e-books for crockpot recipes and garlic and other things! Here's a question If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) I would probably order Lemon Scented Sticky Bat or some of the BPTP Courtesans. And Spanked. And anything that I haven't ordered yet, like the new LE bath oils and room spray. Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I'm pretty set on seasonings right now but maybe some really interesting ones would be fun? I always see all of the different colored/variety salts and speciality things but don't purchase them. Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I usually prefer black tea. My favorite right now is an anise black tea that my friend sent me from Germany!! I'm sure it could be purchased in a larger size (mine is 2oz?) but I'm not sure where from. I usually buy my teas in smallish quantities from the yummy local tea stores. Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Lately my fav snack foods are the fruit/nut mix from Costco. Except I pick out the walnuts because I really don't like them! But the dogs do. I also do a lot of cheese (cotswald, sage darby, or something else tasty in the snobby cheese section), crostini, and sliced sausagey things. Or chips and mango peach salsa. Or ... another thing the BF brought home -- Cadbury's Mini Eggs!! OM NOM NOM. And beef jerky. And the crunchy green beans from Trader Joes. What level of nudity are you fine with on items? It depends on the item I guess! I have no room for artwork yet, but when I do I will probably be getting BDSM themed artwork for the bedroom. In which case nudity is perfect. I know the ?aire asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? I fine with gently used items of almost everything. Underwear or socks? No thanks! Would you rather have HUGE list of things your witchee wants to try or just a highlight list? Everything. The more you have on your list, the more likely it is that I will have it! Tim Tams? Yum! The black forest ones were spectacular and so were the toffee ones. The chocolate creme ones I'm iffy about. Caramel is good. If someone were attending Disney on Ice (Toy Story 3) with a bunch of Girl Scouts, would you want a patch/souvenir? No thank you. E-goodies? Er? Mix cd's? I still have about 6 mix cd's that I haven't listened to yet from other sources. I'm really picky about my music I guess. Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? I downloaded about 500 onto my kindle application on my iphone/ipad. All freeeeeeeeeeee! So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? I *would* actually like the Song of Ice and Fire and the Wheel of Time books. Because I read those over and over and over and over and my first edition copies are going to be destroyed. candles and/or aroma melts: I don't actually use melts that much (I would like a melt warmer that you PLUG IN, rather than one that you put a tea light in) but I would never say no to more candles and melts. Get your music player, what are the first 13 songs on Random? (This is my LastFM channel since my ipod is at home.) Covenant - We want Revolution VNV Nation - Illusion Dead Can Dance - The way an Eel Feel Eels Dave Gahan - Kingdom (Digitalism remix) Martin Gore - Never turn your back on Mother Earth XTC - Mayor of Simpleton Thomas Dolby - Radio Silence The Cure - Close to Me Apoptygma Berzerk - Love to Blame Depeche Mode - Strangelove Minerve - Clear Bruderschaft - Forever Anything Box - Carmen LiveJournal: miss_twilight Twitter: mstwilighteyes Ravelry: misstwilight FaceBook: I'm on the GUSP page and the TeamBPAL Fan page. You'll know my real name when you get my form. Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? Sadly I could use a couple more. I have a couple nine drawer Ikea Fira and four tea boxes but I'm spilling out everywhere. My fantasy one is on my etsy wishlist! http://www.etsy.com/listing/46068735/mamas-little-secret Would love another nine drawer Ikea fira but the last time I saw them on ebay they went for $60+ plus like $25 S&H. Ikea has discontinuned them for some odd reason. Do you have any blogs you regularly read? Anything that shows up on my google reader... the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? probably sleep. I never seem to get enough sleep. oh wait, no budget? like I am rich? I would probably shop online at yarn stores, bpal, villainess, etc. and then go to europe. or do the shopping on the plane to europe. Astrological charts and interpretation/ reports? would be cool except I don't know what time I was born. Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers? Lavender, sage, rosemary, thyme (no, not the song!), mint, etc. Many varieties of all. Love edibles. Used to have about 75 different types of roses but had to move and leave them all behind. Where I'm living now doesn't have enough sunlight or soil that is well drained enough for herbs or roses. *sniffle* I love anything that is highly scented. Dianthus, chocolate cosmos... I love bonsai (I had a 30 year old bonsai wisteria but when it turned into a stick in the window - I kept it outside of course - my "then new puppy" Jake chewed it off. Would love to grow veggies, but again - water table is WAY too high and not enough sunlight. Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? I prefer tawny port, ice wine, and sweet mead. vanilla rum or vodka. starbucks cream liquor. butterscotch schnapps. baileys. girly drinks. Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? yes, but prefer silver/pewter over bronze/copper/gold. have a lot of steampunk inspired patterns to knit. have many steampunk items on my etsy wishlist. need goggles. Favorite Artists - Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Notre Dame fairy/gargoyles. Omar Rayyan's "The Favorite", "Croquet", "Fluffy", and "The Faerie Child". (all on my etsy favorites!) I have some artwork (originals) from my friends, some prints from Van Gogh, Patrick Nagel, Gorey, and varied artists. I don't usually like EVERYTHING by one artist, it's more like one or a few piece wills speak to me and I'll want just those. Love artwork with ravens, bats, friesians, pit bulls, gargoyles, hippocampi, dark and gothy, celtic, etc. Would love some really nice BDSM pony artwork or large framed photo prints. Do you like those little crocheted dolls? You know the ones! They have a Japanese name! GAH! If so, who needs to be emulated as one? Yes, I like Amigurumi. A Johnny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow) Amigurumi would be cute! I have the most darling pit bull one from dixiehellcat!! I have a ton of patterns for various amigurumi on my ravelry and Loopy Ewe wish lists. Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? I love pirates the most. They should smell the best too, like the sea and sky, wood, leather... (I expect my pirates to bathe regularly and not drink too much rum.) Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I have mostly shaved hair but I do wear a plastic toothy headband to keep my bangs out of my eyes at work and I have some barettes/clips on my etsy favs. I would love to have more dreadfalls -- need a big wide cloth headband and some goggles to go with them. I have some black and white yarn dreadfalls but they are really heavy and don't stay on well. colors? black, purple... Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? I had five holes in my ears (two in the lobes on each side and one up at the top) but I took them all out except one in each lobe. They're probably healed by now - I might need to get them repierced. I'd kind of like to get my nipples done (again) but then I think about how they never would heal. Oh! And my tongue is pierced. I keep forgetting about it since I don't really notice it. I have all sorts of body piercing jewelry on my amazon wishlist. Otherwise I don't really like dangly earrings, I only wear studs and the types of things on my wishlist. Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) I am really bored with plain chocolate. I like interesting flavors in mine. I LOVE the Vosges Naga bar and the Dolfin Hot Masala -- CURRY! Love the Dolfin green tea jasmine. Don't really enjoy chili in my chocolate so much. I do like fruit and nut bars, caramel, lavender, rose, etc. Would love to try the Vosges italian truffles with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil, etc. I'm pretty snobby about my chocolate except for the Cadbury's Mini Eggs for easter. OM NOM NOM. For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I don't really wear a lot of tint or gloss, mostly just lip balm. Shimmer is ok! It's all about consistency for me... I don't like a balm to be sticky (gloss) or too slick. I do like the Lip Venom even though it's on the sticky glossy side. One of my favorite balms lately is Bunny Butt Apothocary (I get mine through the Soap Box Company.) I have been lusting over getting more from Better Botanicals for a while; they used to carry them at our local co-op but I can't find them anywhere (except online) now. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? I don't have just one! Ravens, bats, Friesians, pit bull type dogs, ferrets... DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? Eventually I'll upgrade to Blu-Ray so I've started collecting them already. Copied CD's or DVD's? Arrrrrr!! I'm going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, is there anything I can get you? *drools and makes grabby hands at NMBC items!! (Nightmare before Christmas!)* Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) yes! no footies, plz. I would kind of like some sock garters for thigh highs since my bpal socks tend to slip down. Y'know, the kind that go around at the top of the sock, not a garter belt. I like stripey socks but I like my socks to be a little on the thick side since I wear a lot of converse, docs, and unisex fluevogs. I don't wear very many girly shoes so thin socks tend to get holes immediately. I also prefer natural fibers to acrylics (I don't mind having a little nylon for stretch, but I prefer socks to be 70-80% natural fiber.) Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? I prefer quality over quantity (especially for things like candles, chocolates, yarn, etc.) but I believe you can find a lot of small reasonably priced things that are high quality. So I'll leave it up to my Witch! I'm hoping to do a lot of smaller yet high quality things for my Witchee because I think it's fun to get lots of little packages. But you know, it's also (for me at least) about the contact and knowing someone is getting to know you and paying attention to you. What? Attention hoar?? Sometimes I don't feel chatty back but I like being poked, even if it's just saying hi. Postcards and e-mail don't cost that much! Do you like pirate-related things? But of course! I love going to Archie McPhee and getting a ton of pirate-y things. I have the lunch box, apron, bath curtain, bath mat, garbage can, pirate devil duckies, mints, air fresheners, etc. Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors??? I will admit that I would like to try the Snake Oil soap, as well as the one I can't pronounce.. Otherwise my soap coffers, as it were, are overflowing with bar soap. I make bar soap myself so I usually have a good supply on hand. (HA HA) I'm even totally good on shower gel. I would, however, love to have more scrubs, both oily sugar/salt and cleansing ones, like smacks. I love the Arcana scrubs, Villainess scrubs and smacks, Paintbox Soapworks Sorbettos (I have quite a few on my etsy list!), etc. What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? I was always the science geek, not the art geek. So sorry, I am not into periods and don't have any interest in knowing art by period or genre or whatever. I know what I like when I see it and I like a LARGE variety of things. But I'm pretty consistent with my likes and I think I've already stated them enough times and given examples of some pieces I like, pointed people to my etsy favs, etc. I tend to like things with hues of silver, grey, black, blue, purple, dark green, dark red/wine/burgundy, bluish pinks, etc. I am not a fan of *anything* that is mostly copper/bronze/gold/yellow/orange/brown or pastels. This goes for jewelry, clothes, yarn, art, cars, mugs, boxes, tapestries, etc. -- really it's pretty universal. Would you like caffeinated lollipops? No thanks! I actually mostly stopped drinking coffee and only do a couple of mugs of tea a day. I don't really want to jack up my caffiene levels. Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? No idea what those are. But if you think I'll like them, sure. Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? I use a lot of "lap pillows" to rest my ipad/books/laptop/whatever on, and I usually have a pillow between my knees when I'm curled up on the couch. Plus the dogs and boyfriend are always stealing my pillows. So... large to cover the lap and firm to hold up things. Black, purple, silver are the ones that interest me most. It might be easier to look at what kind of pillows are available at places like Michaels or Joanns and then send a pillow case to fit such a beast, though. I don't think the pillows themselves are usually very expensive. I have pillows with Ravens and such on my etsy wish list. purses? bags? What style/colors? I really like Namaste knitting bags in Eggplant or Black. But they're pretty spendy. Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? No thanks, I'm a knitter, my friends are knitters, my family has knitters. Some have looms and do woven scarves. So I get a LOT of hand knit and hand woven scarves as gifts and I have a TON. Plus I'm more into shawlettes (smaller shawlettes worn as scarves) right now and I'm super picky about my yarn (yes, I am a yarn snob.) I guess this is a push button topic for me because people just don't get it and I keep getting store bought mass produced scarves (not hand made) as gifts. While I appreciate that someone thought of me and wanted to get me a gift, this is not it. Please! (The only exception would be really nice silk scarves that someone hand dyed for me or the HUGE scarves/stoles that are mostly black with purple, blue, or red celtic knot motifs that people sell at Renn faires or farmer's markets.) Of course if you really wanted to send me a hand knitted or hand woven scarf, those I would gladly accept. But I could probably use hand knitted socks or wrist warmers more. Anything hand made or dyed is accepted with glee. Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? If you love them and you think I would love them, I am open to trying whatever! With the exception of natural deoderant, that stuff never works for me. Do you like poetry? I'm picky. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? The boyflame hates foody scents and cinnamon type scents (I weep!) but plain vanilla seems to be ok. Even though I have a ton of the BPTP room sprays I don't use them a lot except on pillows and clothes; I don't want my dogs to have to smell them all the time and hurt their noses. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I'd love the Sandman collections in hardback... but those are way over the price range. And probably don't count as comics at that point. See below. Delerium is one of my favorite characters. Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? What kind of geeky things do I do? I play computer games... I've been playing Ultima Online for 11 years+ now? I love old dos computer games (infocoms, sierra, the ultima series, etc.) I downloaded monkey island 1&2 on my ipad and finished the first one while my boyfriend was away for the weekend. I knit! That seems less geeky and more mainstream these days though. I still call BBSes (well, now we telnet to them!) I haven't scripted for a while but I *can*. I would like to get more into camera geekery (my dad is the hugest camera geek on the planet and is always giving me his cast offs but I don't know much about them and haven't really taken the time to learn.) I organize all of my books, cds, perfume, etc. and document it all on spreadsheets, scentbase, librarything, etc. Did I mention that I'm Aspergers? I think that is probably the definition of geek. I used to go to all of the Sci Fi conventions but that dropped off because I moved away to Texas, then Colorado, and just kind of got out of the habit. Plus getting older = less energy & more responsibilities. sigh. I don't read comics anymore.. I did read a lot of them growing up. I love graphic novels though. I think I don't like reading comics because they are too short and my attention span is much much much longer. Same reason I don't like to watch TV (except on dvd/netflix/on demand) - I don't like being interupted with commercials. I'm not "obsessed" with anything geeky (am I??), for TV right now we are watching Dexter (streaming on netflix, again for me on S1/S2, first time for the boyflame), just finished watching all of Lost on Netflix streaming. Started to watch Dead Like Me but the bf didn't like it. I have all of Twin Peaks on dvd and most of Red Dwarf (up to S5?) and have been watching Red Dwarf streaming from Netflix at work since the BF doesn't like british humor (WTF?) When True Blood comes back on I'll have to watch that every time a new episode is out. oh!! And I'm very excited about A Game of Thrones coming to HBO next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love those books. I want a Game of Thrones "Winter is Coming" girly babydoll with the raven!! I saw some on the HBO Store website. I have worked in a geeky field as tech support or unix system admin since 1991 or so. I used to play RPG's... D&D starting in 4th grade (that was before it was AD&D ), Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Paladium, etc. I met people when I lived in Toronto because I (1) called bbses and (2) played RPGs. Being a hot girl didn't hurt!! Some of my characters are used as NPC's in some Cyberpunk games and many of my Torontonian friends are listed as test players in the GURPS cyberpunk (I was as sick as a dog for many months and couldn't test with them.) Played Vampire: The Masquerade when it first came out and was part of the Seattle Camarilla originally but that didn't last too long because I couldn't stand most of the other people. I gave all of my game manuals to my son who is in college now and running many campaigns. He has tried a few of his campaigns out on me and Pixiepetal (my friend Lisa, she has an account here on bpal.org but doesn't read or post much.) I do love geeky toys, I have a talking Tick doll, many Sandman & NMBC dolls & figurines, etc. I just don't have a lot of ROOM for things like that right now, so most of them are packed up in storage. Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? Everything of course. I'll know more after Will Call tonight. If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? No, I wouldn't be creeped out. I'm usually one of the local minions delivering things!! However I do have a lot of depression and anxiety, so I'm not always "up" for going out and being social. Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? I could use another Swissgold Tea Filter. Anything I want is under my "Cooking" wishlist on Amazon. Ninja cookie cutters.. Skull & Crossbone egg/pancake mold... skeleton hand condiment set.. bone spreaders.. skull cupcake pans.. all edges brownie & lasagna pans.. ingenuiTEA tea maker, electric kettle, just to name a few. I can always use measuring cups and spoons. Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? Silk and velvet are definitely favorites. Really high thread count cotton for pillow cases. It depends on the item?? However, if it were yarn-y, my favorite would be MCN (merino cashmere nylon) for non-socks, and merino with a little nylon for socks. or Merino-silk blends. Or heck, merino silk cashmere blends. Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? That would be super sweet! When I was younger the "best friend" matching rings/necklaces/whatever always intrigued me but I was a loner and didn't have a best friend to share such a thing with. My horse wasn't really interested. What three things are you craving right now? Right now? I'd like a cupcake, a winning mega millions ticket, and to go home and go back to bed. I guess that's not really "craving" other than the cupcake. paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. no thanks. What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) Pumpkin King or Noir, just to see what the fuss is about. Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) Nah. I would have said Beekeeping for Dummies if asked last week, but I already bought it. Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Haven't even looked. I haven't been able to afford new Villainess or Arcana from the latest updates and am not really a huge Violette Market fan. Easier just not to look. What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? Favorite type of wine is ice wine and tawney port (I think I already answered this somewhere.) With mead being my favorite really, although it's mead - not wine. Close enough!! I have tried to get more into wine and will work with my wine snob friends and do pairings with dinner or with fruit/cheese/bread/chocolate and I tend to like those, but I really just don't drink very often. I wish I could have more wine with "dinner" but since I work graveyard I can't have anything with dinner (breakfast?) and I don't feel like drinking a glass of wine when I get home at 8am. So I have it on special occasions. I have some lovely huckleberry mead that I've been saving. For staples I usually get Chaucers Mead, Warre's Warrior Special Reserve Port, Graham's "Six Grapes" Port, etc. mostly because these are plentiful and inexpensive. I can't remember which ice wines I buy, I would recognize the bottle. I usually buy from Costco or from the grocery store because, again, inexpensive. When I visit my friends in Portland who run Cocoa Velvet, I usually go along to the wine tastings that they participate in - they do pairings with their chocolate. The farmer's market has a booth with delightful spiced blackberry wine that I adore. I'd be up for trying something new, especially a new dessert wine. Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? I love the Vosges chocolate bunnehs (especially Naga but I haven't looked to see if they have that flavor this year, I can just get the candy bar after all.) Cadbury mini eggs!!! Starburst jelly beans. What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Snake Oil! O. Most of my favs are LE anyway (sigh.) Usually the GC's I love are for more than just scent: Baku, GRR, Bitch, TAL's, etc. so it would be really bad if any of those were to disappear.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I've added a few things to the BPAL Fiends flickr group - Wolf Moon, WILF (both bottles), Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse, Hispaniola, some bath oil, sprays, Dark Delicacies exclusives, etc.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I just got my decant circle shipment in the mail yesterday; haven't had time to take photos yet. I'll take some and get them up soon! All of the yules (obviously not Nutcracker or Christmas Carol) that I received are the same label except, of course, for the perfume name. It's a beautiful design!

What do bottles and labels look like?

Got my first Yule order last night and uploaded photos today to the BPAL Fiends Pool on Flickr. If you have a flickr account, please feel free to join this group and add your bpal related photos! I haven't organized them in my own photostream yet. I've been up since 1pm Thursday... thinking it might finally be time to sleep.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I have a bottle of Shub from 2009 that doesn't say Picnic in Arkham: I could look at Knows Perfume's stock when I'm there Sunday to see if theirs omits "Picnic in Arkham" or not?

What do bottles and labels look like?

I just got a CNS for the first half of my decant circle; I'll post photos once I get the bottles! Probably on Friday!

    The Ides of March 2009

The Ides marked an auspicious time in the Roman calendar. Depending on the month in question, the Ides fell on the thirteenth or fifteenth, and usually marked the Full Moon. As we all know, it was not an auspicious day for Julius Caesar, nor was it fortuitous for H.P. Lovecraft, who also met his maker on this infamous day. Tu quoque, Brute, fili mi! A mixture of Italian greenery, gleaming metal, and classical Roman cologne: rosemary, bergamot, lemon rind and vervain with costus, balsam, benzoin, gray amber, dittany, white narcissus and iris. The Ides of March 2009 In bottle: Bergamot and lemon. On skin: Helllo lemon! Oddly I am getting none of the greenery, metal, or cologne. Perhaps my nose is broke. Must refresh nose with time and coffee, then come back to this. Edit: Ok, the lemon has gone into hiding and the greenery is coming out to play. I don't smell any rosemary, which can be somewhat overwhelming on me, but the description of metal and cologne is happening.

    Arsenic v2

Unreleased prototype, no scent description given. The first thing that came to mind upon sniffing this was the little teeny bottles of perfume that my mother or grandmother gave to me. I believe they were Avon samples. Arsenic totally reminds me of the Hawaiian Ginger. Sniffing next to Marae, they are very similar in feel. I'm guessing some Coconut Oil, Monoi tiare, Gardenia, Ginger, etc.

How much older are you looking for? Most of the graphics are still visible if you go to the "new" section at the Black Phoenix Trading Post. Looks like it goes back to at least October 2006!

I tried to take cell phone photos of Sibyl last night and you just couldn't tell what was on the label, so when I got home I used my decent camera to take photos. Here is Sibyl on flickr! Finally took photos of a bunch of older bottles too that had been languishing in the photo line. You can see them in the BPAL FIENDS group.

  22. (most of the other questions were updated in the thread -- poke me if you want me to post them here!) 9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Probably some of the TAL's -- energy, white light, bastet's laughter, anthelion, peace, etc. I am only decants of them (except anthelion) and would love to have 5ml's. What are you going to be for Halloween? That would require PLANNING! I always want to be Frank the Bunny but I don't have enough money to afford the outfit. 9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? The Pacific NW is a myriad of scents, the most prominent being GREEN and RAINY from September to July. But there are many many more depending on where you hang out. I would add clove (clove cigarettes and oil mixed with henna on hands/skin), roses (the rose garden), lavender (tons of lavender farms), honey (lots of beekeepers; I had honey bees in my back yard in a hollow cotton wood tree!), apples (tons of apple orchards!), chocolate (I know many Seattle based chocolate companies), coffee (duh!), patchouli (lots of hippies!), sandalwood (tons of incense stores), and wow -- I'm not sure this would smell good. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I wouldn't mind a couple of small roller bottles, especially in cobalt, purple, or green! Ooh. And maybe some larger ones for my bath oil since I don't actually use it as bath oil very often. 9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? I have a ton listed as Favorites in my ravelry queue. The fabulous Dixiehellcat made me a pitbull (!!!!!!) I'd like a equine type creature, hippocampus, ferret, cthulhu, or whatever! Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? I would love local 20z "City mug" from Starbucks! Or a Bearista with your city name! I collect Starbuck's City Mugs and Bearistas. I don't wear t-shirts very often, so no shirts please. I do wear zip up hoodies! Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? I'm not going to look. LA LA LA LA. Those don't exist! Hush! Venomous Villains? Yes! But I already ordered mine. Of course if you were determined to shower me with MORE how could I say no? I ordered most of the Maleficent line except the lip stuff. Which I am kind of now wishing that I ordered. Last Unicorn? ZOMFG yes. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) I like Maleficent -- how can you go wrong with black, purple, and dragons?? Was the new Tim Burton "Alice in Wonderland" disney? I really liked Alice in this movie, especially how she didn't feel that she needed a man to be successful or happy. Too many Disney heroines equate men/love with happiness/success. Although I did like Belle in Beauty and the Beast initially since she (1) knew how to handle a horse properly (2) was a book worm and (3) wasn't interested in the guy just because he was hot and had muscles. Don't get me wrong, I love men and my boyfriend. But my goals were never just to get married and pop out kids. Which probably explains why I'm still not married. 9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I love love love gemstones. I would like some stones that are beneficial in overcoming depression, sloth, anxiety, etc. and promote happiness and energy. What's your favorite Halloween Music? Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. And "Everyday is Halloween" by Ministry, although I suppose it's an everyday song. 9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? No. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? No. See part about no more veins for more addictions. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I would feel weird if someone bought me used shoes and new shoes that I like would be too expensive. I think I answered the shoe size question in my original questionnaire but I'm a US size 10 womens. I mostly wear Fluevogs and Converse. I have a pair of Birkenstocks for loafing around the house and a pair of slip on sandals that I wear all summer. I wear aquasox and tevas when boating. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? No thank you. Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? I loathe heels with a passion, mostly because I can't walk in them and they hurt. I like knitting handbags but otherwise prefer messenger bag type bags. But yes, I like my traditionally girly things to be either geeked or gothed up big time. What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? Winter by Tori Amos. And Crucify by the same artist. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? YES. But I think I have a fairy. If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? A box would be sweet. Gargoyles, friesians, bats, ravens, pit bulls.. purple and black and grey. I'm easy. Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? Er. I don't know? What would I make with it? Would it fade to white? I hate white. If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Friends! I loves the people. Things are just things. But I have a super box that is painted with purple and grey in kind of a celtic knot pattern, love! And socks and arm warmers! And a cool pendant that I have in my car to ward off stupid people! A cool yarn bowl! Silver snowflakes and cookie cutters! TOO MANY COOL THINGS. 9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? I love garlic! I used to always go to this italian restaurant's garlic festival and have garlic chocolate chip cookies, garlic cheesecake (not really cheesecake, but shaped like one -- goat cheese with tons of garlic!) om nom nom! I eat it raw, roasted, cooked... Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Meh, zombies. I have a Zombie Haiku book that I treasure because it's from our beloved VoodooCatWoman and I've downloaded World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide.. but not really a HUGE fan of zombies. 9/20/10 If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? I have already purchased a few bottles (or preordered from SoapBoxCo.) How many bottles of BPAL do you have? Um. I'll have to look when I get home since I destashed quite a bit. Scentbase still claims around 1200 regular sized bottles. Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? I'd kind of like to learn yoga, maybe belly dancing (I already have some cd's and books), and lots of martial arts of various types. Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? candles are good but I'm a little snobby about them. I like really high quality candles that are smooth and melt nicely. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? Who? What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. Honestly, I don't have any of my own art on my walls (except a calendar and a few framed photos of my dogs) because we were living in the basement MIL apartment of the BF's dad.. and dad had all of his framed photos of planes everywhere. He passed away in May but we haven't taken anything down yet... eventually we will take it all down, get rid of the nasty wood paneling and sheetrock, mud, paint, etc. And then I have a ton of gargoyles that will probably go up on the walls and *some* framed art, mostly made by my friends like the ones on Slumberland.org that say "collection of S. Walker". do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind? Yes. Samoas and Thin Mints. What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Yum! Sure! 9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I luuuuuuuuuv fantasy. Epic. Fantasy. I have most of the fantasy that I read except for the unreleased ones. Although I have pre-ordered the new Terry Pratchett book already, I am WAITING on pins and needles for a bunch of the unreleased books on my amazon wish list, all are marked HIGH PRIORITY. Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? Yes, I like soap. But I make my own cold process hand milled soap so I don't ever purchase any. I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't draw. Nice pens are probably wasted on me but I do love purple pens that write smoothly. For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? YARN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need some blocking wires and pins. I can always use more gothy stitch markers or cute stitch markers with gargoyles, bats, skulls, pit bulls, or whatnot. I prefer stitch markers in a range of sizes from needle size 2 up to 11. Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? Nah. Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I love incense but I have a TON of it and never burn it because the other half coughs and chokes pathetically. Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? No. 9/18/10 Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? eh, my hair fluctuates between being shaved and awkward to do anything with. The only hair toys I really love are dreadfalls. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Dog safe but not child safe. In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? I love wrist warmers! I don't really like cowls so much, even the ones that fasten instead of just slipping over the head, and I have a few already since I knit, my mom knits, my friends knit, etc. Slippers might be fun, I have some felted slipper patterns in my favs on Ravelry. I don't wear knitted hats. I could use a knitted headband maybe! Lately I've been into little shawls worn around the neck like scarves. How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? Not really one way or another. It depends on the item I suppose? I love reusing cute little tins for things but when someone says upcycled clothing, I think of Regretsy. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? Haven't looked. I have been gifted things from Violette Market but I haven't purchased any on my own and really, do I need another drug?? I'm out of veins! And Money! What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) I like temperate bordering on cool. We have all sorts of fun things in Washington and I like it all - mountains, desert, rain forest, ocean, other forest, plains, canyons... What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? There are a lot of sweaters that I want to knit. Oh, wait, I have the supplies and know-how, just not the time. Um. Hm. Maybe things like Saddles. Oh, and I'd love to do silversmithing and make lockets and rings. Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Nope. Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? YES. The one coming up at the Book Fair. *whine* Anyone need address/phone type books? No, thank you. 9/17/10 Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? I have Red Dwarf seasons 1-5 and would like the rest. I'd love Ranma 1/2! There are a lot of movies that I would like to have on DVD but of course I can't think of them off the top of my head. I love used dvds (or burned.) Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? Please don't buy me any Possets. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) MY LITTLE PONY! I'd love a My Little Cthulhu pony! And altered Breyer Horses into Hippocampus or Friesians are favs of mine. Barbies would be ok if they were altered into something severely BDSM related. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? I don't really like Hersheys but I'd be willing to try small samples of odd flavors. Anne Taintor, anyone? Who? Which web comics do you enjoy? I used to read "Not Wild, Just Crazy" and "Something Positive". And something about the Devil's Panties. But I don't read web comics anymore, just don't think about it. 9/16/10 If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? My mom always makes me super long skinny ones so I have a lot of those. I'd actually prefer shawlettes or a big shawl. Or a rectangular wrap that is wide enough to wear like a shawl but could also double as a head covering or scarf. Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? Yes. How do you feel about recipes? I need someone to cook them for me. What kind of a cook/baker are you? One that doesn't ever spend time cooking or baking if possible. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? No one delivers to where I live, but I don't eat most prepackaged food from the grocery store either. Usually we eat out or I have to cook. Or we grill. If I send you something home made would you like the recipe for it? Sure. If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? WHAT? WHO WOULDN'T WANT BAKED GOODS??? How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? Meh. I would probably NEVER use it, honestly. if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? Black. Flavored is good. I have enough black coconut right now, but I love smoky teas, and ZOMG I'd love some more butterscotch black tea from Mariage Frères in France. I love many blends from The Tea Cup in Seattle! 9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Eh, I have enough clutter and no place to put it all. Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? I have a stack of books to read (YAY!) -- Just started Bite Me by Christopher Moore. Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? I have watched Anime. No, I don't need anything related to Anime except possibly dvds. Sure, if my witch thinks I might like something, bring it on! If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? Sure! Especially food! OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I like cotton, MCN (merino cashmere nylon), merino/silk, ... I like longer than ankle but not all the way up to my knee. I'm open on patterns. How do people feel about word magnets I have tons of them and no place to put them, so no, please god no. If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? Dang. I can't think of anything exciting off the top of my head. Most of the time I'd need the person's body to go with the costume or accessory!! How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. Meh. I can take or leave them. What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I want a set of both Trick and Treat and then single items including the pumpkin one, licorice bats, ginger skulls, and the root beer trick one. Yes, I'm too lazy to go look right now. 9/14/10 Chocolate or other types of candy? Mmmm snobby expensive chocolate! Most other candy is loaded with corn syrup which I am trying to avoid, but I would probably nom it down anyway because I'm weak like that. I would love to try Wine Gums or interesting candy from other countries. For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Loose leaf is generally higher quality tea but I use tea bags too. If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? Shawls! Shawlettes! Socks! Wrist warmers! Yay! Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? again with the question I would have to think about. Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? I could definitely use more measuring spoons. My local Target had a place for purple ones but they were SOLD. OUT. *weep* Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? Studio. Explicit is fine. If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? Friesian horses, Bully breed dogs.. Love ferrets too. Ravens, bats... Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? Lavender (I had 11 different varieties in my yard at one time), roses (especially purple extremely fragrant roses like Royal Amethyst, Love Potion, Sterling Silver, etc.), scented geraniums, most scented herbs. I have a purple hibiscus bush in the yard. Love butterfly bushes. Anything that butterflies like and that bees can use the pollen from for honey. I love night blooming flowers. Jasmine. Honeysuckle. Wisteria. I would LOVE to have a mimosa tree. I love all types of mint, thyme, rosemary, sage, catnip, etc. I need a huge herb knot garden!! And a hedge maze! Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. Again, hard for me to come up with things without extensive thinking. What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) Noir? Pumpkin King? ha ha ha!!! Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) My child is 20 and doesn't live with me, but if you wanted to spoil him I could send his address. He loves to get mail, has bpal and a scent locket, role plays, etc. Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that I hesitate to google what a cat macro is. MP3's are always good. Amusing videos are good. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) Another thinking question. This is bad at night when I'm in the middle of doing a software conversion and just want to bang out some questions and people keep interupting me!! lol. Um, probably some kind of meat roasted in honey and spices, spiced mead, fresh fruit, crusty bread, triple cream brie and lots of other cheese, deep dark rich chocolate, port... or maybe I'd crave something else that night. My food tastes change depending on time of month or day or mood or what I've had to eat lately or season or.. NaNoWriMo? No. 9/13/10 Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? I chose in my Q&A that I would like a high to medium contact witch, so hopefully I was matched appropriately! Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? I try to keep it up to date on Scentbase. Do you like maple sugar candy? It's good, I'll eat it, but I'm not super crazy about it. What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? It's not something that you eat when you're craving chocolate. But really the bacon just adds a salty smokiness to it! I have the Vosges bacon-chocolate chip pancake mix in my wishlist, for example. If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? No, sorry. Most stuff that I want or need, srsly, is on my extremely extensive amazon wish list. Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? Tarragon (for salmon), granulated garlic, pepper. Microsoft or Apple? Microsoft for PC's. But I do have an ipod, an iphone, and I'd like an ipad. But I don't really like itunes. Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Vacation? What's that?? I can't even remember where my last "vacation" was. We travel for business (monster trucks) but... I am going to say that the last time I went somewhere fun was the monster truck show in Portland, Oregon. Because I got to go stay with my super wonderful friends who run Cocoa Velvet (chocolate truffle/caramel company) for the weekend!! And I learned to make ganache. I love them dearly and love Portland. We went to some wonderful tea places (The Tea-Zone and more), super snobby chocolate places, some fetishy stores for valentine's day shopping, super awesome hole in the wall ice cream places, and they made cheese fondue for me, which I had never had. The only fly in the ointment was that it was Valentine's Day that weekend. (but they made me heart shaped pancakes for breakfast!!) Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? I love getting postcards! I like getting handwritten letters too, but e-mail is just fine. Do you hate any food things with a passion?? I don't like scallops... I don't really like lima beans either. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I don't subscribe to magazines. Don't really want a digital version either! what interests you from the latest lab update? I run decant circles so I've already ordered everything from the lab update except for the forum only scents, which I will probably order on the next full moon. How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? I love pens and office things but I don't really have a plane for stationery/notepaper. Pens I can find a place for. Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated vegies, pickled onions, chilli jam?) YUM. PLEASE. I loooove pickles. I just picked up lavender jelly at the farmer's market and am going back for rose jelly. If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? yes! Would you like something you have to make yourself? I do a lot of make-it-myself and love it! Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? It really depends on the item. Food? Sure! Jewelry? Of course! Soap/bath stuff? Bring it on! Yarn? Heck yeah! Who is your favorite soap etailer? I make my own soap! I am my favorite soap etailer! (giggle) I rarely use soap from other companies. Tarty sent me a sample from Paintbox Soapworks and it was lovely! I have some Villainess that I need to open and try. What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? vintage gargoyles FTW! teacups? um. I only use 20oz mugs and I have about 500 of them since I collect the Starbucks City Mugs. With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I would like the slow build up but since I already received a huge Villainess GC which was totally awesome, we've started off with a bang!! And I'm not complaining! What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I just switched from Prescriptives to M*A*C. I just pre-ordered all of the Venomous Villians that I want so really I'm pretty set with makeup. I'm not a huge makeup person really (I rarely wear eyeshadow and am horrible at applying it) but I'm always looking at the "smoky eye" tutorials and I could probably use some really nice makeup brushes, especially for eyes. I like black/grey/purple eye pigments/shadows. I don't like matte; I love the frost and glittery shimmery ones. Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with ) Without actually meeting them, no idea - personality is SO much more important to me. Based on just looks, accents, and roles? Vin Diesel, Gerard Butler, Alan Rickman (in his younger days), Ewan McGregor, Martin Gore. Not in any particular order. 9/12/10 Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to last.fm immediately and create an account! Download the scrobbler! Link us to your account! If you reject this assignment, maybe just tell us what your mp3 player says you listen to a lot? But I already have a Pandora account! Fine, I created an account and did all of that. http://www.last.fm/user/misstwilight/ Any countries you're interested in? I have been to Spain and Italy -- LOVED THEM. Next I'd like to visit the UK, Germany, France, etc. The boyflame wants to go to Australia. Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Yes!! If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? Of course! I'm not perfect and sometimes I make mistakes in my knitting or whatnot. I'm also a virgo and overly critical of my work. Are you a foodie? I think so! Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? The only sports I watch are canine/equine: dressage, 3 day eventing, grand prix horseshow jumping, agility, etc. The boyfriend mostly watches Monster Trucks (motorsports! it's a sport!) and since he's a driver, I have to say that my favorite is Captain USA. Or he'd pout. For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? I would like to start decorating now that we have the house to ourselves. I need to dig out the halloween stuff! I don't like crafty/folksy per se. I like more elegant/gothic? Do you like journals/notebooks/sketchbooks? I have some friends that make beautiful coptic stitch journals and leather covered journals. I love them! But I don't draw or write in journals so they are wasted on me. 9/11/10 Cake truffles? If YES! Cake/icing/chocolate type? I have no idea what these are, but I like cake and I like truffles. I prefer dark chocolate. I like buttercream icing? Not sure what my options are! are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? I don't really travel a lot, so no. I tend to "save" things like that for "someday" or "just in case" until they go bad and I have to toss them. Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay? Meh. Disliked Twilight (and they RUINED MY NAME and my business name!) But I watch True Blood and have read the Sookie Stackhouse books. If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? I have a wii and an xbox 360. I wish there were more Zelda games - I started playing Zelda 20+ years ago. Finished Twilight Princess. Want another. How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? I wish I had a gardener to come plant a ton of lavender, roses, herbs, etc. I would have a knot garden, a huge rose garden, and all sorts of themed gardens (shakespeare, night, butterfly, etc.) But our yard is not really set up for any of this and I'm unsure where to begin (and get overhwhelmed just thinking about it, yay autism!) so... um... no. I kill plants in the house. I have no place really for drawings, art, or pressed flowers. I do use dried flowers sometimes in sachets (mostly lavender and rose petals.) How do you feel about marzipan? ick. If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? Queen of Spades, F54, Pumpkin King. Well, you asked! More realistically: Yvaine and any of the BPTP World Cup scents since I missed them all. Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? I love Mariage Frères butterscotch tea. A friend in Germany sent me some and I've been hoarding it ever since! I love yarn from other countries as well, prefer merino - or at least soft squishy yarn. If anyone was able to go to the Wollmeise store in Germany, zomg! Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? I haven't ordered anything yet but I'll probably get one (at least) of everything if I can afford it. If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Yarn is always welcome but I am super snobby about it; most anything you could buy in a Jo-Ann's or Michaels is not yarn I would want. I do have yarn options on my amazon wishlist if you want to get me yarn! Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? Sea of Sin (Depeche Mode), Black Metallic (Catherine Wheel), Sunday Bloody Sunday (u2), The Carnival is Over (Dead Can Dance), Down in it (Nine Inch Nails) Soundtracks you'd like? I have most of the soundtracks that I like and can't think of any I want. If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? I have the feeling I'm getting to old and curmudgeonly for concerts. I see Depeche Mode every time they come to town but I no longer enjoy standing up throughout the concert or the hard seats, crowds, lines, etc. So I'd really rather not see a concert. 9/10/10 Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples? I'll have plenty, thanks! (tee hee!) If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivies/allergies to any materials? Blurple! Black! Grey! Stripey! I'm allergic to acrylic (ok, not REALLY, but.. eew.) My favorite yarn right now is MCN (merino cashmere nylon) and I live merino/silk combos too. Gift Certificate: physical or email? email is awesome. I'm all about the instant gratification. Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? I love the Witch's Brew patchouli seasonal yankee candle scent. I have some Yankee Candle things in my Amazon Wishlist under the bath and beauty area. would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? Raven, Coyote, Deer, Bear are the ones I probably need the most, meaning wise. And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? no thank you. What places to do you visit that you'd like a gift card to? Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, B&N, a favorite restaurant or clothing shop? Starbucks, Amazon (I have Prime), M*A*C cosmetics, The Loopy Ewe (yarnz!), Soap Box Company, Scent Addict, Villainess, Haus of Gloi... Cake or Frosting? I am so boring, I know, but it really depends on the cake and frosting. I like really moist, rich cake with buttercream frosting. And I try to have a good proportion of each in every bite. 9/9/10 What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? Night Wing. Kind of funny since I like bats and vampires. I think Jaws might have frightened me as well, but I actually wanted to LEAVE the theatre during Night Wing. Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one Ravelry, Echo Bazaar, Twitter, UniCreatures, Flickr, various blogs and shopping sites. Do you like the Muppets? Which is your favorite? I'm not especially into the Muppets also I watched them millions of years ago when I was a kid. My fav were probably Animal, Beaker, and Swedish Chef. If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? I'd love to have more ferrets (but I can't afford the vet bills, litter, etc. and don't have energy to clean litterboxes) and I'd like to have a horse again (a Friesian, Andalusian, or Warlander) but again -- not enough money or energy right now. Imaginary: a winged ferret, dog, horse, would be most awesome. Comfort Rereads?: Harry Potter, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, Robin Hobb's Fitzchivalry books (starting with Assassin's Apprentice). Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch? I don't think we're going out of town during the round. If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) I'm not currently in school but I'm considering going back for network engineer certification and maybe some other certs. What animal would your daemon be? Alternately, your patronus. Favorites would be raven, ferret, pit bull, or friesian. I still love deer, bats, and dolphins too. But I haven't really read up on which would be good daemons. A friesian for my patronus would be fun. What's YOUR favorite word? Mine? Probably depends on the day. Today: . Steampunk, yay or nay? If yay, what part appeals most? Yay, except for the sepia tones/copper/bronze/brown. Ick. Corsets, of course. And gears. 9/8/10 Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? Lots. Ankh, Eye of Horus (or Wedjat), Ravens, Epona symbols, Celtic knots of all types but especially with dogs, horses, ravens, and ferrets. Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff? I could use another 9 drawer Fira box from Ikea but they are discontinued!!! I have extra ammo boxes for my imps so I don't need any more. If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be? That requires more thought and brain power than I have right now. If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why? That requires more thought and brain power than I have right now. Favorite Halloween Candy/Treat? vanilla tootsie rolls and caramel apple pops. But one a year of the latter is enough, really. otherwise I snack on the mini-chocolate bars of all types (except mounds/almond joy, ick) but especially 100 grand, kit kat, twix, whatchamacallit. I look forward to the chocolate skulls from Vosges Haut Chocolat. Love kettle corn and look forward to going to the corn mazes and pumpkin patches in order to get some!! What are your favorite baked goods/homemade treats? Brownies (with no nuts). Lasagna with lots of spicy italian sausage, dry cottage cheese instead of ricotta, tons of melted cheese... cookies (oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, snicker doodle, peanut butter, thumbprint, gingerbread, sugar, spritz... you name it!) Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart? I have always been interested in having mine done but I don't know my birth time. 9/7/10 Socks? Sock Dreams? Anyone? I have one pair of hand knitted socks and would love more!! Otherwise I usually wear basic black socks that are a little more on the thick side. I rarely wear thin socks as those don't go too wear with my unisex fluevogs/docs/converse. Would love stripey socks (ala GothSocks type yarn.) Can't wait to knit a pair of Merino Cashmere socks! What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? Tea, scent, warm soft blankies, books, and my pups snuggled with me. Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books Anything Tim Burton. I like campy-horror films too. What would the name of your custom blend be? The description? No idea. I have a really hard time coming up with good names and descriptions. See Aspergers Syndrome. COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? I would like the Sandman absolute books (on my wishlist on amazon!) I haven't read comics in forever and not sure that I have patience for the format anymore. Graphic novels I can get into sometimes. Warm drinks? yes! I drink a lot of tea (mostly black tea with cream and sugar.) love mulled mead. 9/6/10 When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? It really depends on the item. If I have pumpkin bread or salted caramels on my list and those are sold, I sure wouldn't mind getting pumpkin bread or caramels from some other seller! But if it's a particular piece of art, scent, jewelry, etc., then I'm more picky... Do you wear make up? Yes. I used to wear Prescriptives but since they have gone out of business I switched to MAC. Waiting with baited breath for the Venomous Villains; I need most of the Maleficent line. Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? Yea for Disney movies! My favorite animated ones are Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and... NMBC!!!! Loved Pirates of the Caribbean of course. Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three? We have a VCR/DVD combo but the VCR portion doesn't work so well. Hoping to get Blu-Ray but I think we need to upgrade our tv first. Would you like custom icons as a gift? Not high on my list of wants but I wouldn't turn it down either. 9/5/10 What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? probably chips and mango/peach salsa with cream cheese. Ebooks sure, but I'd prefer free ones or pdf format. I don't have an ipad or a kindle yet, but I do download free kindle books and read them on my iphone or computer. Nail Polish: I'm not hugely into nail polish. I'm waiting for the BPTP purple to come out and have Smokestack and Blood Countess. I have some nice OPI polish but I mostly wear it on the toes. I *rarely* wear polish on my fingernails. Soft/plushy things: I have some soft plushy cthulhu things on my wishlist... What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? Needlefelting and spinning. I have supplies for needlefelting. For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones?: Creepy cute. Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed (by yours truly!) ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock? I have enough candle powered tart warmers. I don't need any napkin rings. I love handmade items and beautiful glazed things. Gargoyles especially. Ravens are good. Maybe a functional bowl? how do you feel about mortars and pestles I have a marble mortar/pestle packed up somewhere! Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? I don't have any real phobias I guess. I wouldn't appreciate it if people sent me feces, urine, bugs, etc. 9/4/10 Are you into Austen's books? Nope, haven't ever read any. I did recently download a few free Austen books in the kindle format for my iphone but they're pretty far down on the list. I have seen some of the movies based on the books. Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? No, I don't read Tarot Cards. I'm too autistic to do things like that! I love some of the artwork though. So for those of you who are into Harry Potter at all, which house do you think you'd be sorted into? Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? True Blood is the only show that I watch regularly (and Hung, simply because it's on right before or after.) I did watch Breaking Bad because someone gave it to me on a thumb drive. Otherwise I usually watch movies or Netflix streaming through my wii. Since getting Netflix streaming, I've watched all seven seasons of Buffy, re-watched Firefly, watched five seasons of Lost (six isn't streaming yet), all of Sanctuary that was available (two seasons?), and now I'm watching Angel. Occasionally I watch Legend of the Seeker (not really certain what time/channel it's on so that is hit or miss.) Oh, I watched all of The Riches on hulu. If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? Don't really dress up anymore (man, I'm getting OLD) except for fetish gear and halloween. Can't think of anything I want/need that isn't on one of my wishlists. Celebrity crush?: I love Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge but not so much otherwise. My boy is a celebrity of sorts (local, small fanbase) - does that count?? oh! I've had a crush on Martin Gore forever (member of depeche mode. Love his voice.) Knitted things?: YES PLEASE What about [mixed or otherwise] DVDs? sure DVDs: Do you prefer widescreen or formatted? widescreen Music: Any preference towards MP3 or CD? both are fine. I listen to cds in my car and my ipod in the house (and in the car if I remember to bring it.) Do you like scented tarts? yes! I really would like an electric tart burner, though. Lip balms? I'm pretty picky about my lip balm. For instance I do NOT like balm to be too "slick" and therefore I can not stand the balm from "my lip stuff". I have some lip balm on my amazon wishlist under Bath, Body, & Fragrance. I do make my own lip balm but I'm out of tubes. Do you have any body mods? If so, do you need any new jewelry, o-rings, plugs, etc (and if so, what size, length, etc)? Do you like pro-body mod stickers? I do need new body jewelry. It's on my amazon wishlist under wearables. Gauge and size info as well as color/type of beads is in the comments on the wishlist. Booze. Do you drink it, would you like some I do drink booze! I like sweet mead, ice wine, vanilla vodka or rum, malibu rum, goldschlager, butterscotch schnapps, baileys, starbucks cream liquor, etc. What is your favorite artist or art style? (including if you have links to favorite pictures/paintings/photographs) That requires more thought and brain power than I have right now. 9/03/10 Hallowe'en plans? We usually dress in fetish gear of some sort combined with a halloween costume and hit the clubs. The boyfriend usually wins the costume contests and I must endure having our photo taken 5,000 times. Mix CDs? Usually I say NO but scarletgenesis made me some pretty cool mix cds. I'm pretty picky about my music. Girlyness level? I answered this in the thread, I'll have to find it. 9/2/10: Gifts for other household members / pets? It's now just the boyflame, three canines, and myself. The boyfriend would probably love baked goods (he nommed down MotherKat's chocolate chip cookies from a PIF in record time) but the canines have a special diet in which they do not get any grains and I prefer to only do beef and fish proteins. So the safest thing anyone could get them, food wise, is probably just freeze dried beef liver or lung. But they love their planet dog orbee balls! I have toys and stuff for the dogs on one of my amazon wish lists and I love people who spoil my babies. Home made goods? yes please! I don't like nuts or crunchy things in my caramels/fudge/cookies/brownies but I do like flavored nuts on their own. (It's a texture thing.) My aunt in Texas used to always send us huge bags of pecans in different flavors -- cinnamon sugar or whatnot. om nom nom! Love pumpkin seeds too! and salted caramels!! Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? I'm not sure that I even necessarily need bpalz, but I'm ok with whatever my Witchee wants to do. My tester list is pretty small and is going to get smaller because we now have a BPAL retail location here in Seattle where I can go sniff and test things. Note to self: go edit wishlist. Names on other sites: If you add me, tell me who you are or I'll probably block you. I don't like "Twilight" fans adding me willy nilly. IT WAS MY NAME FIRST. twitter: mstwilighteyes (and sorrow_spider for those of you playing echo bazaar.) livejournal: miss_twilight ravelry: misstwilight unicreatures: miss_twilight facebook: http://www.facebook.com/X.swalker.X would you like to receive Groupons or similar deals/gift certificates from your Witch? Er, no idea what those are. I am going to be a party pooper and say no. How about tshirt/bottoms sizes? Wasn't this covered in the SW questionnaire? I don't like t-shirts unless they are sleep shirts. I do wear babydolls (XXL) and camis (also XXL). I can't imagine that anyone would be purchasing bottoms for me!

    Set v3

Unreleased prototype, no scent description given. This version is very different from the previous version that I was lucky enough to get an imp of. In Egyptian mythology, Set was the god of the desert and necessary chaos. I am getting vetiver, red musk, myrrh, tobacco, black orchid, maybe some fruit gums?? After the intial vetiver blast retreats from my skin, I am left with a dark fruity floral.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I put some photos of the bottles (from will call) up on the bpal fiends flickr group! Pomegranate Patch, Mnemosyne, Gothic Literature, etc. They are pretty bad photos, though. Boo for my phone's photos.
