In the bottle: Can make out the cumin but otherwise I would have to say it just smells like cologne. On my skin: I can tell it has the same origins as Dr. Henry Jekyll but this is a lot darker and muskier. The blood note is a little sweet, or maybe that is the bourbon? That note reminds me a bit of John Barleycorn. I'm not getting any of the tobacco. I think I like this one better than the Doc!! Uh oh. As it dries it does get a little bit sour, perhaps the sweat note peaking out. But that interlude seemed brief and it went back to it's musky, cumin, sweet blood & barley scent. edit: after a while this is starting to smell like leather! A beautiful dark suede leather jacket smell. *peers at notes, looking for leather and not finding any.* Leather and cumin. It's FANTASTIC.

In the bottle: Vetiver. Black Musk. Resins. As it dries on my skin, the vetiver recedes and the smoke comes out, then the wood. A faint whiff of leather. Predominately musky, smokey wood. Resiny. The smoke is receding into the background. Wish I had a guy close by to slather this on, I can see it being VERY sexy.

First impression in bottle: Katrina Van Tassel. Honeyed rose. On skin: Still honeyed rose. A little bit of tang from the rosehips and possibly the nectarine. This has a darker depth than Katrina, which must be the wheat. I'm not getting very much myrrh, but that could be contributing to the darker bottom. As it dries, I am getting small whiffs of the nectarine and it reminds me a teeny bit of Gaoler's Daughter but without the gardenia. However, the rose is predominant on me. Didn't think I would find a honeyed rose I loved more than Katrina... but I'm thinking this is it!! Might have to procure more before they sell out.

Woah. In the bottle: Dark musk, Vetiver, frankincense. Smoky and earthy. On my skin: Smoke! Eek! Burning nose! Vetiver! ouch! Dry on skin: Whew. *feels nose* Back to the head shop. Dark, musky, smoky, incense. Well blended!

In reference to the version from Clearing Out the Cobwebs: Dark Delicacies Trunk Show, 2/8/09. Dear Black Orchid, Where have you been all my life? *This* is the scent that I love so much in the Dark Delicacies fragrance! Dark, sweet, earthy in a patchouli fashion but not a dirt smell.

In reference to the version from Clearing Out the Cobwebs: Dark Delicacies Trunk Show, 2/8/09. In the bottle this is a dark fruit. Sweet and smooth, a little creamy. On my skin it morphs. Now it is musky. Still a tinge of fruit but way way shoved to the back. We were lured into her hut with the fruit candies and now we can make out scents wafting from out of the bottles and jars stacked everywhere. There is a teeny hint of dark floral in here as well. A small bit of spice with some herby medicinal parts poking out. Still sweet too, and almost a little green. Fantastic scent.

Lush green and fresh as the others have noted, but this isn't the bright green grass of A Blade of Grass. This feels darker and wetter. There is a juicy bottom note. Maybe a little ozone or chrome sneaking in there too. As it dries down, the musk comes out. Not red, not black. A much lighter and very sweet musk. The grass is only a teeny whiff of green now. I was iffy on it wet but the drydown is amazing.

On first sniff from the bottle, I can smell some of the same wood from Wood Phoenix. But there is also a really strong almost alcoholic-medicinal scent. Wet on skin: my nose is still smelling the same thing. Maybe the medicinal sharp bit is Birch? (Birch IS in the Oak family for those who are unaware...) As it dries a creaminess comes out. I want to ascribe it to vanilla or tonka. Sweet. I would describe this as a sweet creamy woody birch beer with a sharp bite. *Edit* As this dries even further, my leanings towards birch are solidified. So birchy it is almost wintergreen.

Got my Dark Delicacies today too! Those and the Prototypes and Vintages are up on flickr.

Ooh, pretty. My vintage and unreleased/prototypes were put in the mail to me today.. once I receive them I will put up some photos. I'm still waiting on my two remaining lupercalia orders (now with agape) .. still a week off at this point I am guessing (snake charmer being back ordered and all) so no photos of Agape yet on my end. Soon!!

Ooh -- ALL of the Labbies? What about the goblins? I added Bony Moon and Earth Ox today to flickr. And Blood Moon '05 from a trade.

As soon as I opened the bottle and smelled this, it made my mouth water. Wha...? I can smell the Vanilla Tea and Coconut, but it seems like there is some kind of creamy fruit involved. Almost lemony except not tart -- very sweet. Interesting! The exhale yields a teeny bit of rose fragrance. I can't wait to layer it with Red Rose!

Wow, I am hardly getting any rose at all. Not surprising I suppose, if you read the other reviews! This is all musky clove and amber on me, with a teeny waft of rose. Love!

Wow, Lupanar is AMAZING. The honey reminds me completely of Mead Moon or O but with a teeny bit of almond and a deeper darker scent that seems to ground it. I can't really distinguish either Myrrh or Ylang (and I thought I was pretty familiar with each!) The bottle I have is for a circle -- I am seriously considering getting my very own bottle. Even though I have 18 bottles of Room Spray from the Post right now. Srsly.

Tramp, you always get your oils so fast! What is your secret?? I just got my BPTP order today and added photos of Unity and Lupanar to the photo stream.

In the imp - vanilla, rose, sandalwood, jasmine Wet on skin - sandalwood, vanilla, leather, tobacco, rose. Dry on skin - Rose and jasmine. And sugar. This is a very nice sweet purple jasmine. Rose is backing off as Jasmine takes over. So far, full of win.
-
In the imp, ylang ylang and some myrrh. On my skin, medium dry not sweet patchouliiiiiiii and myrrh. Dry on skin, sweetens up a bit. Maybe the clove helping the patchouli out? The ylang, myrrh, and patchouli have blended enough now to not be single notes. Yum!

I was hoping for a bit more spice but on me this is all Rose Rose Rose! Not a red rose, like Rose Red from the Yule series, but more of a traditional victorian rose perfume. I am getting the color pink, which is silly -- as someone who had over 50 types of rose bushes at one time (mostly purple, pink, black, or two toned (stripes, splashes), or unique scents (myrrh for example) -- roses come in a LOT of scents and colors), I know that color has nothing to do with scent. But still. Pink. Sweet top with a musky bottom note. I like it, but was still hoping for the spice.

This is just as lovely as the Holiday Stress Relief perfume given out at Will Call. The geranium is what I smell the most of, with the mint and clary sage in the background. I can't really smell the lavender, this is really a very well blended oil. I haven't used this as an actual bath oil yet -- I take a shower and then apply the oil to my damp skin and can smell it for hours and hours. The oil is very velvet-y and soaks in without making my skin feel greasy.

In the bottle: Not as black of a licorice as I was expecting. But not overly sweet either. More of a fennel smell, if that makes sense. Wet on skin: The anise comes out a little more. Dry on skin: Still anise and vanilla. A very creamy subdued anise, but more anise than vanilla on me.

In the bottle: Woah there! Coffee! It almost smells like someone spiked it with Bailey's Irish Cream!! No chocolate. Wet on skin: Deep dark black black coffee. Bailey's smell receding. Chocolate coming out. Dry on skin: Black, almost bitter, coffee. Chocolate - very dry and dusty chocolate, similar to Gelt. Hm. Might have to let this age and try it again during a different time on my cycle.

In bottle: Hm. This is really well blended. I am having a hard time picking out individual notes except that this is thick, dark, and sweet. Wet on skin: Incense. Deep, dark. Woody. A little smoky. Sweet. Still VERY well blended. Dry on skin: Not a morpher on me. Same as wet. Love.
-
In the bottle: Deep, dark, slightly sweet and dry. Resins. Woody. Wet on skin: Dark yet sweet incense. Lovely! The sweet really balances the dark resin and wood. Dry on skin: Hasn't morphed much from being wet. Very very nice.

In the bottle: Evergreen. Berry. Wet on skin: Cinnamon? Teeny bit of fruit. Dry on skin: The evergreen is peeping back out and mixing with the cinnamon spice and fruit. Very VERY Christmas-y.
