  1. When I opened an order from a fellow forum member my kabuki imp spilt slightly and it smelf amazing!! I thought I was still in love and kept sniffing it, falling for it again and again. Then I tried it on and I loved it but randomly throught the day the scent got to strong for me and made me feel nausious. Whether or not the nausia was from my head ache or Kabuki I couldnt really tell but now whenever I smell it I just get nausious. *sigh* So strange...love to nausia.

  2. The dragon's blood in thsi blend goes a bit floral on me and I've come to realise that dragon blood has a slight powdery, baby powder scent on me. This smells a lot like how Pool of Tears smelt on me....and has a sunscreen smell to it. I really had high hopes for this blend but...alas, that sunscreen smell is intolerable for me.

  3. Sometimes I go into those stores that sell statues of fairy tale creatures as well as incences. This embodies those stores perfectly! Its all I can think about whenever I get a whiff of it off myself. Its not a bad memory but it is kind of weird having random flashes of statues in your head throught the day. I dont think its bottle worthy for me yet but it is growing on me but sometimes it makes me nausious if its to strong.

  4. I do loovvee the black currant from Eat me so I had to try this out, despite that my rose scents are kind of growing eek!

In imp: a mix of the roses and blackcurant.

On: the rose and the blackcurrant go back and forth before the blackcurrant eventually diminishes and it becomes a rose scent. This is one of the rose scents that are absolutly free of going powdery on me.

  5. In the imp: Well, hello there day at the beach, complete with sunscreen smell.

On: ugh, the sunscreen comes out more, much to by disapointment. I'll hold on the the imp but I dont know about getting another. I do like the beach reminesence that comes with the scent but I cant see myself wearing it.

  6. Mad Hatter, you make me happier then you will ever know! I was going to buy a 5ml of this no matter what because it has penyroyal in it which means natural bug repelant when I go do the Disney program in Florida in a few months.

In the imp: Blissfully lovely lavender, reminescent of cheshire cat and a minty freashness that I love!

On: Doesnt change much and everytime I breath in that freashness it makes me feel a slight chill, so lovely!

    Definently bottleworthy!!! 5/5!!

  7. In imp: Well hello there buttered popcorn smell. It reminds me of going to the movies :P

On: After a while there almost seems to be a vanilla undertone, which happens a lot on my skin but still. The tart comes out and a bit of a custard tone to it and the butter smell isnt as powerful in a couple hours.

Rating: I cant really decide on it. So perplexing. I like it though so 3/5

  8. I used to get mine at Nature's Gift, because I could go pick them up and not have to pay the usually very high shipping charges for those things. People sell 1 ml or 1/32 oz. sample vials semi-frequently on ebay too, that's where I got my current lot (about 1800 vials!)

There's also a thread in the BPAL FAQ's on this general topic that I'm probably going to be too lazy to go look up and then edit this post about.

Thank you, I'll go look there.

  9. Where does one find the little vials? The little plastic vials the imps come in, I mean. I checked Michaels and it wasnt there :D

Yeah, none of the craft stores seem to carry them. I get mine at sunburstbottle.com. I'm not sure where to get them other than that site.

    Thank you :P

I searched around a bit and couldn't find any container around 1 ml in size/capacity. Is there a specific url?

  10. I bought this as an imp from the lab a month or so ago, dissapointed that it didnt have that coconut scent to it like I was hoping for. But I've worn it recently to find that coconut has finally surfaced.

Before all I got was the iris, which I dont hate but I'm not a real floral person unless theres something else non floral-esq in the blend. Now I get coconut, iris and everynow and again hazelnut, something I didnt get at all before. I also think that my skin sucks up certain musks and I think white musk may be one of them because I only got maybe a small hint of it before wondering if I actually smelt it at all, if that makes sence.

I'm definently getting a bottle of this when I can because the older it gets the more amazing and beutiful it seems to be. 4.8/5

  11. Anyone know how many variations there are of the Tiki Queen and King labels? Personally, I wish they would stick with just one label. I hate to be disappointed when I want one label but get the other. Anyone else feel this way??

I think there are only one label of each? I haven't seen a different version posted at any rate. My Tiki Queen looks just like one other I saw posted as far as I know

Same here. I got the one with the hula dancer on it and its the only one I've seen.

  12. This is going to sound kind of odd but....this scent reminds me of my Grandma, but not in a bad way or anything. She just loved Gardenias and would keep them in her refrigerator to make the flower last longer and make her frige smell nice ^^' While I'm not a big floral person I do have to love just how realistically it all smells. The Gardenia and the jasmine go back and forth on me for dominance so it provides a nice variation. I dont think I'll get a bottle but I will hold on to this beautiful imp.

  13. On me this just became cheap lemon cleaning spray, which I'm starting to wonder if lemon just does that on me (like with the 3 other lemon scents I've tried). I was really hoping for the green tea to be more prominent.

  14. In the begining when I put it on it smelt like vetiver, and just that then it ligthtened up into sweet grass. It was the weirdest thing....as though you got to smell the hot wind during the summer and the lovely fresh scent in the spring. Then after a bit Scarecrow began yo-yo-ing back and forth between grass and vetiver.

  15. Spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla.

In the bottle: Rum...but a creamy carmel kind and coconut. This is kind of what I wanted a pirate scent to smell like. If I breath in real deep I can smell the vanilla. So far I'm really enjoying Upa Upa and I havent even put it on yet :D

On: ....I think I may need a backup bottle of this. Its really simply amazing. The pineapple becomes more detectable, the vanilla stepps forward more and the rum and coconut fade a bit into the background. I cant stop sniffing my arm its so amazing :P Its not as foody as I thought it would have been so I think that food lovers and non foodies will enjoy it as well.

    4/7/08
Now that the bottle has lost its shipping oddities and calmed down a bit the rum isnt as strong and the pinnaple comes out more. It also lost its slightly cinnamon like scent.

  16. Monoi de Tahiti, vanilla, white coconut, tuberose, ylang ylang, white musk, red hibiscus, and neroli.

First off the label is preaty cute- not what I was expecting (an actual tiki on it, instead of the little hula dancer on it) but still, I love it.

In the Bottle: :P Cheshire Moon? But...sweeter. I actually grabbed my Cheshire Moon and compared them and Tiki Queen just smelt sweeter, so it must be the red hibiscus I smell. I dont get any of the coconut or vanilla like I had hoped. And if I take a real deep breath I smell....Sweet Tarts.

On: Sweet Tarts. But....an amazingly good Sweet Tart. I'm sorry that I cant say more in this review of the scent but to me it really smells Sweet-Tart esq with a touch of floral underneath but I enjoy it all the same. It has a decent amount of staying power before dissapearing. Even though Tiki Queen has coconut in it and some vanilla and smells like Sweet Tarts I'd say this definetly carries a more floral scent then foodie.

  17. Valentine Of Rome is a must-try for lovers of frankinense!

Word to that! It's beautiful, smoky & exotic & the Yum.

Dracoo9, did you get a chance to try Morocco since your last post? I'm curious what incense scents you've tried so far, maybe we can narrow down what it is that amps on you... I'd avoid Scherezade, Anne Bonny, and Penitence - all gorgeous, but very heady. Perhaps Bastet or Xiuhtecuhtli would work for you... the Lion is spectacular, all amber rather than incense...

No, I havent tried it yet. So far I've tried Dee, Harlot (it said its based on an incense blend so I dont know if that counts but for having so much rose in it, it deffenently did not smell of rose), Uruk, and Death on a Pale Horse became pure incense on me even though it wasnt listed. And I know this isnt a very big list of scents I've tried with incense in it but thats due to the fact that after the second try I've kind of ruled it part of the 'stay away from...' list along with more earthy and wood scents.

  18. Form: Frimp from the lab.

In the imp it smells a lot like Strangler Fig yet..different if that makes any sence.

On it smells syrup-y sweet with a cherry smell like medicine. Luckily that medicinal note dissapears for a bit before popping up for a moment later on and so forth. Other then the medicinal moments it smells like chocolate cherries with a woddy sort of tone to it. I cant tell what I think of it..I like it but I dont know if its bottle worthy. And those medicinal notes it has....is rather unpleasant. i'll hold on to it and see if that note will dissapear for good.

  19. My Port Royal imp is strangely what I imagined Chimera would smell like :P

PR becomes a very spicy blend with a lovely driftwood scent in the background. I dont get the prostitute perfume though, which might've made this more floral for me but I love this nontheless. Its amazing and I'll be getting a bottle in the future (evening out all of my sweet vanilla blends :D )

  20. Strangler did the weirdest thing of all earth/plant blends. It became foody-sweet! I had to ask around on the forum a little to check and make sure that the imp I had was correct. I have never been able to tolerate anything 'dark, woody and green'. This is very lovely. The woody-ness is very soft in the background where the rest of the scent is a sweet scent. This could possbly become a bottle for me :P 4.5/5

  21. When I first recieved this imp from the lab in December I wasnt impressed with it at all but I hung on to it. In four months' time it is now incredible! I can smell the sweet pea now when originally I couldnt. The vanilla comes out more on the dry-down while the amber plays softly in the background while the sandlewood gives it a deep and warmer tone to it. MLST is trully amazing but I'm still debating its bottle-worthyness.

  22. Form: imp from the lab

In the imp: Mostly orange with patchouli.

Ravenous is the only scent that has had patchouli in it and didnt go out of control dirt smelling on me. At first I did get a dirt smell the most from it but then it mellowed down and I could smell the orange a lot more. It almost becomes a slightly vanilla-ey scent on me. I think I'll hang on to it and see if I'm tempted to get a bottle later.

Edit: Eep! This has become Dragon's Milk on me. Very strange....But I like it :P

  23. I have no idea why I never thought to try this before. My deepest gratitude to the labbies.

In the imp I can smell the sweet vanilla and I love it already! Its almost slightly remenescent of Antique Lace (another favorite of mine).

On: It does smell very similiar to Antique lace on me only the vanilla is a lot stronger. I dont really detect any of the musks in the scent but there is a slightly darkness that adds an edge to the vanilla. This really is amazing!

    5/5
