This is really delicious. At first I get spiced apples, with lots of cinnamon. Lots and lots of cinnamon. Then suddenly there is a strong woods element that comes into it, someone mentioned a damp forest, and that is what it is like. It's apples with cinnamon, fall crispy leaves, damp forest. It's strong, as well, it last a good while on me. After a few hours, there's a hint of powder, so I think there might be a bit of amber in it, but if there is, there isn't enough for it to destroy everything else as amber usually does on me. This is fantastic. And I can't wait to layer this with Harvest Moon. I'll just lay in bed and sniff myself all day....

This is for the '04 version: Yes, I smell plummy, dark purply juice and something sweetly floral. It has good staying power on me, but I don't know how much throw it has. I've never had a sugar plum, so I can't say that this is exactly what it would smell like, but it seems wintery yet cheerful.

This is just gorgeous. It's a floral, but lightly aquatic as well. It's very powder blue, if it could make a colour. I can't pick everything out, since it's well blended and just wonderful. The only thing sad to me is that it just isn't me, or, it is *me*, but not the SO who is prone to migraines and this would send him right over. There isn't anything sharp or unpleasant about it, it's crystal clear. If you love florals or aquatics or both, you will love this scent. It's truly beautiful.

I'm finding that lillies do something odd on my skin. They get very waxy, almost as if someone had created a lilly candle scent. I usually love florals, but this one goes weird because of the waxy lilly. The jasmine is quite strong and this blend is very very sweet. While this isn't for me, I can see this being a favourite of someone whose skin can warm and exude these beautiful blossoms.

At first when it was on my skin, it was like a cinnamon floral. Delicious! There are so many ingredients, I can't really tell what is what. I could swear on the cinnamon though. Unfortunately, about five minutes in, it gets kind of soapy. I don't know what goes soapy on me, this is my next skin chemistry o'Julilla study. I'm very sad though, because if it had stayed cinnamon floral on me, I would have loved this forever and ever. Damned skin chemistry!

This is soft and pretty. I don't necessarily get a laundry type smell, but I get a very crisp not overbearing flora. I really have to sniff hard to smell it on myself, so I think it would be perfect for those who are looking for a light, uncomplicated scent. Did I meantion that it was pretty? It really is. There are no jagged edges to this one, no jarring spice, just smooth, light and simple goodness.

A lot of us trying to figure out what is in this, it seems. On me, it's vanilla, musk, and I could honestly swear to a molecule or two of coconut. There's a smell, not "green" exactly, but maybe the scent of raindrops caught in a leaf. This is just gorgeous. It seems like a more traditional perfume, almost commercial without all the alcohol and other chemicals. It is another tour de force!

Tulips, peony, fresh flowing water and crisp green grasses. I'm going to be terrible at picking out the notes in this one. On first sniff, I just closed my eyes and smiled. Soooo good! It's so pretty, pretty, pretty. It's gorgeous, lovely, a mildly aquatic floral. Almost a little waxy at first, probably the tulip? My skin devours this, which is a fabulous excuse to get a big bottle! If you like florals, you *have* to get this one. There aren't words.

I was almost loathe to put this on, because in the imp, it is pure butter. Not a stick of butter, though, a pot of hot, melted butter. Woah, Nellie! It did seem like it would be too much. Thankfully, about five minutes after putting it on, it smoothes into a mildly cinnamon/clove sweet not butter scent. I don't get the pumpkin though! It's like someone made pumpkin pie without the pumpkin. It's got all the spices and the crust...odd. It smells delish though, even sans pumpkin to my nose. I like it a lot, and I'm sure it's layerable with all sorts of delicious things...I'm thinking Harvest Moon....

This smells like pine forest to me, with a scattering of pine cones and needles thick on the ground. It has a creek running through it, with tiny little flowers on the bank. There's a little bit of a chill in the air, barely brisk. Imagine that, now smell it. That is this fragrance. Gorgeous!

The mint and violet are what comes out on me the most. It does seem "chilly" somehow, almost like cold metal. It reminds me of a violet breath mint. It's really lovely, and I think it would great as a layering fragrance as well. It's sharp at first, but smoothes down pretty quickly. Glad I ordered this one, it's a keeper!

Ouch, vetiver! Ouch, ouch, ouch it's poking me! I can't smell the other notes at all, just a hard as nails vetiver that is making me sad. I wanted cinnamonny 'chouli goodness. I don't think my skin plays well with vetiver, but if yours does, I'll bet this is fabulous for you.

A sultry and unruly blend that emulates the ambient scent of the markets in ancient Bengal: skin musk with honey, peppers, clove, cinnamon bark and ginger. Yummy! Super spicy, cinnamon and ginger really come out at first, then it smoothes into a spicy honeyed musk. This is a fave, for sure. It does die out on me after an hour or so, so I'm going to age this little puppy, because it can only get better!

I am definitely a late comer to this one. This is hard to describe, except as a place. I've never been to Morocco, but this scent is warm, spicy and a little dusty. It feels like laying out on a very warm beach, but all alone and content to do so. There is nothing on the agenda, nothing you have to do anytime soon, no emotional baggage, no dramas, upsets, responsibilities. Just you, laying out on the warm, spicy beach. And it just feels so damned good!

This is really unique. It's pretty complicated, with a mix of beautiful layers. At first, I smell the chocolate and fig, and then it moves down, mellows out. It turns into a spicy, dry cocoa-fig with a hint of something floral. This is sophisticated, and reminds me of something an intelligent, yet bedroom freaky woman would wear. It's very captivating yet smart. This is really a beautiful scent.

This is why I love BPAL. For these sorts of moments, when you swipe something along the back of your hand and sniff deeply. Something happens deep in the brain, something that made me cry out "OMFG are you kidding me?!" because Harvest Moon '05 is just so delicious to me, it's so extraordinary, it's so unique and it smells so damned good that I kept sniffing over and over and over again until I got lightheaded. What smells so good? There are a lot of ingredients in this one, and I can't really pick out any particular overwhelming note, but at first I get a spice, like cinnamon. It's warm and a little hot smelling, almost "Atomic Fireball" scented, but without the candy aspect. There's a sniff of wine, but it isn't boozy or too much. There's an apple scent, but not a sweet overripe apple, a crisp, almost dry apple, maybe like the dried apples you can buy at the Farmer's Market. The floral mix is very subdued on me. It's underneath everything, but the top of it all, the thing that makes it so scrumptious without being 'foody' at all is the cinnamony dry apple'ish crisp autumn'ness. It is just so good on me. I love this. I wish I'd bought more than one.

OMG, this is awesome! If you'd just been sucking on a grape Jolly Rancher and walked into the local been-there-for-twenty-years occult shop, you would know just what this smells like. I'm not talking about your fluffy frou-frou angel statue sellin' power of pyramids New Agey thang. I'm talking about a place that has stuff in canisters that you've never heard of before. The kind of place that has ten cats running around the store, a goat skull on the counter and an employee writing down a hard ass curse for a customer. Oh, hell yeah. That and a little candy. Genius.

I love roses and they get on well with me...except for this one. It went very soapy on me. I can't think why, but alas, it did not work. In the imp, it's divine!

This is one of those interesting blends that freak out on some people and lay down and smooch with others, it seems. I got no fruit, pineapple, citrus or anything like that out of TN. I got hard, dark, pounding incense. It really wanted to kick my ass, I think. On the positive side, I did not get 'cat pee'. Honestly, just dark incense through and through.

Catching up on reviews! Oh, Bliss, you are bliss. This type of chocolate scent smells to me like brownie batter after it's been mixed up and is ready to be baked. It's not super milky, nor is it super dark. Yes, it's chocolate. On me it stays true and really lasts. I can wear this alone, though not usually, what I usually do is layer this like a madwoman. It gives a double chocolate dose to Velvet, Spooky and I've even tried it with Tomstone. So...what d'ya want? Straight up or mixed Bliss? It's all good!

I can't believe I never reviewed this, it's one of my faves! This is an amazing blend of delicious chocolate and sandalwood. It somehow manages to be innocent and sultry at the same time. As it warms up on my skin, the sandalwood comes out more and the chocolate becomes a rich undertone. It has good throw, lasts a long while and as the day wears on, the chocolate and sandalwood seem to play tag with each other. I think this is masterful.

This was very sweet in the imp. For some reason, I get no pepper at all out of this, or tea. It really worked it's way pretty quickly into a light, powdery floral. If I sniff really hard, I can get the linen, but on my skin it's really drowned out by the powder. Oh well, there are other tea scents for me out there, I am sure!

In the imp this smells like a 50/50 blend of roses and straight up cinnamon. I love roses, so I got very excited. The second it touched my fingertips, the "Curse" hit. I've never had a rose go powdery on me before...this is sad and possibly horrific since I love roses. I will pray that there was a secret waft of amber in it so I won't blame the rose...

I'm so sad about this one. I love roses and my skin loves roses. This sounded like a kick ass Wanda type fragrance, and since I love Wanda, I couldn't go wrong. In the vial it smells just like what the description says, leather and rose. It's absolutely scrumptious and seductive. Unfortunately for me, the "Curse" hit and this dissolved into baby powder almost immediately. I want new chemistry!

This is definitely not for me, but let me tell you why this is beautiful. This is a very deep patchouli, and the undertones of cinnamon and cedar are definitely there. In other words, it's not a "dirty hippie" kind of patchouli. It's the way patchouli should smell, I think. Very complex and really very sexy on the right person. It's all about attitude, and sadly, I don't have the attitude to pull this one off. For those of you who do....wowza. Fortune favours the bold!
