    Selkie

IN THE IMP: An aquatic floral with a tinge of sweetness. I can smell the salty water. Slightly soapy. WET: The rose and green grass are noticeable. Fresh, green, aquatic, and a little soapy. DRY: Sweet green grass with a hint of soapy floral. I'm neutral about this, but I'd like to try it again sometime.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

Vanilla, two ambers, sweet pea and white sandalwood. IN THE IMP: Mostly spicy sandalwood, with some amber and vanilla. I think I'm really sensitive to wood smells. WET: The sweet pea starts to come out, and the sandalwood starts dying down, thank goodness. The vanilla is coming out a LOT. DRY: Soft, sweet vanilla with a hint of spicy sandalwood and sweet pea. Warm and sweet. Very pretty!

    Her Voice

Hyacinth, beeswax, wild roses, vanilla amber, lily of the valley, tiger lily, honeysuckle, carnation, and heliotrope. IN THE IMP: Fresh and green. There's some honeysuckle and carnation, and what apparently is the hyacinth. WET: A sweet, fresh, green floral. DRY: Soft, sweet beeswax and fresh, green floral. Nice!

    Mag Mell

IN THE IMP: Very strong lemon verbena, with grass and crisp ginger. This smells very clean. WET: Still very lemony; that bit seems to dominate anything else that might be going on. DRY: Ooh, this is lovely. Warm amber, sweet ginger, just a hint of lemon, rain, and a little fresh grass. It smells warm and golden, but muted, like sunshine, almost milky, with some green to it. I didn't expect to like this one so much!

    Love's Philosophy

IN THE IMP: Cheap vanilla, like a vanilla candle, with a hint of bitterness in the background. Is that the saffron? WET: Like cream soda, but a bit plasticky. DRY: Creamy, but cheap vanilla, a bit plasticky. Much later, it smells like vanilla ice cream. I'm so sad, I really wanted to love this one, and I've never had a problem with vanilla before. Is it the cream? The saffron? I think I'll try this one again another time.

    The Hanging Gardens

IN THE IMP: Very fragrant, with the scents of tons of fruits and florals bombarding your senses. Very rich and complex. WET: Gets a little less heavy and a bit more floral. One or two fruits are more distinctive than the others, though I can't tell what they are. DRY: Strong throw, very fragrant, a gorgeous blend of fruity and floral. Even when I was younger, I'd always loved the idea of The Hanging Gardens in history class, and smelling this, I realize that it's exactly what I'd imagine The Hanging Gardens would smell like. It's amazing, and very evocative.

    Fairy Wine

IN THE IMP: Sweet and fruity, with lots of berries. Honeyed. WET: Still very sweet and fruity. It's actually distinguishable now as currants and dandelions with honey. DRY: A bit softer, becomes less outright fruity wine and more fruity wine perfume. Definitely currant wine with honey and dandelion. This is so cute! It's bright and pretty, definitely something I can see fairies sipping on.

    Defututa

IN THE IMP: A sweet, fresh, lush floral, with jasmine in particular, and a hint of smoky vanilla and honey, and just a little kick from the cinnamon. WET: A lot of jasmine, with smoky vanilla and honey in the background. DRY: Mainly jasmine sweetened by the vanilla and honey, and the cinnamon adding a bit of spiciness. It's all sweet honey vanilla with a bit of cinnamon on complete drydown. Quite nice!

    Meadow scents!

I'd second The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. Maybe also Mag Mell? Though I also get a very golden feel from it. It definitely has the sweet grass bit, though. I'm not sure about the florals.

    The Dormouse

IN THE IMP: Floral tea with a few herbs. It's slightly lemony. WET: Floral (I suppose this is what peony smells like), with a lemon tinge. Not bad, but not what I'm looking for. DRY: Oh, too lemony for me. I really wish I had gotten more tea from this.

    Chanukkiyah

IN THE IMP: A really sugary, rich pastry and olive oil. With a hint of fig, I think. Interesting! And quite yummy. WET: The smell gets a lot less heavy. It starts to smell a little soapy? In a clean way. It's almost a little floral. Plus I can still smell the sugar. It sounds like a strange combo, but it's actually really nice! DRY: Soft beeswax, plus sugary pastry with a drizzle of olive oil. VERY nice!

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

Got this as a sniffie from Brianne! IN THE IMP: Fruity, sugary. I can tell there's guava, but mostly I smell Juicy Fruit gum. WET: The sugary-ness starts to come out more, and the fruit takes a backseat. DRY: Oh, that's definitely spun sugar! Sweet, with something fruity, and a tiny hint of spicy. Very nice, a lot less fruity than what I had expected! It's sugar with hints of fruitiness, in a sophisticated way. I wish I had more!

    Miskatonic University

IN THE IMP: Oh, wow, SUPER sweet coffee. Less like a shot of Bailey's in coffee and more like a cup of Bailey's with some coffee added in for flavor. WET: It becomes much a more subtle caramel coffee, and a hint of wood. And, uh-oh, some plastic? DRY: Mmm, sweet caramel coffee, with just a hint of wood. I suddenly have a craving for Starbucks. I love it! Yet another foody for my collection.

    Harikata

IN THE IMP: Sweet, fresh, light floral. The only thing I can pick out for certain at the moment is honey. WET: Definitely white floral, which I thought I wasn't a fan of, but this is... nice. Soft and sweet. DRY: This is... very pretty. Soft, golden, light floral, with sweetness from honey and just a hint of ginger. My favorite of all the "soft, pretty floral" type scents I've tried from BPAL so far, I think.
  15. Because I have the bad habit of staying up into the wee hours of the morning to cram, I've found that a citrus scent helps keep me more awake and alert. I've heard that grapefruit is the best for that. The only grapefruit scent I own is Vampire Tears, and that's the one I use. I also wear it on the day of the exam, both to keep me awake and focused and to hopefully jog my memory by scent association. Unfortunately, because of this, I've started to associate Vampire Tears with stress. And while I liked it, it was never a favorite, so it's led to me feeling vaguely uneasy whenever I wear it in other situations.

    The Apothecary

IN THE IMP: Green tea and lemon. First impression was that it reminded of Embalming Fluid, except much more green and herbal. And not as light. There's a hint of ginger, too. WET: The lemon is gone. Woah, very green and herbal. And kind of spicy. DRY: Stays the same. Very light. Nice, and different from what I usually wear, but not in a bad way. It DOES smell like an apothecary!

    Hellcat

IN THE IMP: Woah, very strong almond and rum. Heady and boozy. Almost too rich and sweet for me, and I'm a huge fan of foodies. WET: Okay, the initial blast dies down a lot. It's still very sweet, but it's calmed down, and the almond is much more subdued. It's very warm and sweet and spicy. Like a Yankee candle or something. DRY: Just really warm and sweet and spicy. Quite nice.

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

IN THE IMP: Slightly vanilla-sweetened floral. It somehow smells both fresh and a little powdery/dusty at the same time? And uh, slightly grapey. WET: The vanilla starts to come out, and the blend becomes creamier. DRY: A soft, powdery, sweet floral with creamy vanilla. A bit soapy at first, but it goes away. Very pretty, but a bit... tame? Kind of reminds me of Regan in that sense.

    Dragon's Milk

IN THE IMP: Must be dragon's blood, because it smells like Tanin'iver did to me. Cherry-ish, with florals? And very warm, red-orange-ish. I'm not particularly fond of cherry scents... There's some honey and vanilla balancing the scent out. WET: Sweetened vanilla is starting to come out. DRY: Ooh, a warm, creamy vanilla with honey and a slightly spicy edge. Nice!

    Milk Moon 2007

IN THE IMP: This is... interesting. Reminds me of pina colada. I keep thinking there's pineapple and coconut even though I know there isn't. Sweet creamy milk, but the addition of fruit makes it smell a bit "off". I can pick out the white grape and what I'm guessing are the fig and date notes. WET: Same as in the imp. It doesn't have much throw, but when I lean in to smell it, it's very strong. DRY: There's less of the overwhelming creaminess. Same on drydown. Sweet, pina colada-ish. Not sure if I want to keep this.

    Croquet

IN THE IMP: Sweet and citrusy, with some nectarine. But there's something in the background I can't place. It smells almost dirty? Kind of green too, almost minty. WET: The citrus fades a lot, and it turns spicier and more floral. Hm. Kind of reminds me of potpourri. DRY: Sweet, still a bit fruity, slightly floral. Still reminds me of sweet potpourri. Hm. I'll have to try this again later.

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

IN THE IMP: Well, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this! Not that that's a bad thing. Sweet, juicy fruit that I can't pick out. There's some citrus, but there's definitely something else, I'm tempted to say peach? And I catch a whiff of vanilla in the background. WET: ... Oh my. This definitely morphed, and it feels like there's a lot going on, but I'll describe it the best I can. The grapefruit definitely comes out, but overall the scent becomes less fruity. The sweetness now comes from the smoky vanilla and sugar cane. And a hint of that ginger candy. DRY: Mmm, soft and sweet and warm and really lovely. I honestly don't know how to describe it. The only notes I can recognize for sure are the vanilla and ginger candy.

    Dana O'Shee

IN THE IMP: Strong almond, very much like Burt's Bees almond and milk hand cream. WET: The almond dies down a lot. It becomes a lot creamier, like sweet milk with honey and almond extract. I get a hint of the grains, too. DRY: Disappears pretty fast; I can smell a light, sweet almond milk if I sniff closely. It's a very soft, pleasant scent though, as someone else said, more like body lotion than perfume.

    Beaver Moon 2007

IN THE IMP: Some kind of really creamy, sweet dessert (almost cheesecake, but not exactly) with strawberries, and cherry cough syrup. I'm a bit worried, because I usually do not like the cherry scent... WET: Still a really creamy dessert, with lots of butter. It's also really fruity; the cherry note isn't distinguishable anymore, thank goodness, and it just smells like red fruit. I agree with some of the others that they smell almost floral. DRY: I don't know if anyone knows these, but the inside of one of those Godiva strawberry cheesecake truffles? This smells a lot like how that truffle filling tastes. Not an actual strawberry cheesecake, but very strawberry cheesecake-flavored, if my babbling makes any sense at all. Yummy!

    Alice

Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot. IN THE IMP: Creamy, sweet florals, with something powdery and spicy, which I guess is the carnation. WET: Slightly spicy florals with a hint of creaminess to them. DRY: Rose and carnation. It smells like Maiden, except a tad sweeter. While I like Maiden, I have no need for another imp of it.
