I've had a gift imp of Shadow hanging around since last October that I hadn't yet tried! Last week I swiped it on and: oooh. It's perfect with my chemistry! The wood notes grow and go almost resinous, the lemon verbena provides a very subtle edge, the patchouli is spicy, and it all blends smoothly with nothing overpowering the others... It also seems to last a fair amount of time. The scent itself is evocative to me of sultry summer nights, lusty looks, and breathy anticipation. And best of all: I feel damned attractive wearing it! I can't quite put my finger on it. And yet, I'm comfortable enough wearing this during the day at school. I really, really love this blend and wish I had tried it sooner.

Wow, I did not expect this one to be so damned nice! When first applied it's all honey, all the time. Once it dries down, however, I'm left with a spiced sweetness that lasted for hours and hours. The patchouli gives it a sort of electric edge, while the ylang ylang sweetens the deal. The honey lingers as a backdrop. On me, all the notes blend so nicely that I had trouble (not that I'm great at it in the first place) picking out any of the notes -- once I got to school I couldn't remember what was in it other than honey. This is such a winner with my body chemistry: delicious ("what's the yummy smell? Oh, it's me!"), good strength, and long life. I did not expect to fall in love with this one!

My order arrived today and I immediately grabbed this imp and slathered a bit on my husband's neck. I have to agree with the two previous posters: this is a lovely dry/warm scent. The amber gives a sort of golden "glow" to the overall scent, and the musk comes out all supple and yummy. It reminds me of the outdoors, or rather, the memory of the outdoors, if that makes any sense. This coyote's lying in the tall grass, his fur gently warmed by the afternoon sun. It's a comforting and engaging scent. It's not my sort of scent at all but it's really lovely on him!

I received an imp of Black Rose as a freebie in an order, which really was the only way I would have tried this blend -- I had considered rose to be too traditionally girly for the likes of me! -- and once again I'm amazed at Beth's psychic giftimp-choosing powers because I fell deeply and unquestionably in love with this one. It's rose all right, but it's not "pretty" nor delicate: Black Rose is dark and heavy and sexy. Think plump and fertile blossoms blooming on a hot, moist night and you're close. This is the scent of rose at its prime, full and direct in scent. It's past the strained scent of first bloom yet has not turned to the overripe decay of a dying blossom... I find this to be a somewhat "mature" and powerful scent. I cannot stop sniffing my wrists when I am wearing this one.

Black Cat was a gift imp in my very first order, and I am so glad to have tried it (I have a 10ml on order, actually)! That mint note isn't just any mint: it's catnip! My cats don't seem to react, but I do -- I feel like I should be stretching out on the floor, burying my face in a catnip mouse, and purring. On me, Black Cat is a lush, sultry catnip-heavy scent that feels like it is enveloping me but is not overly strong. I wear this one to bed, or when I'm feeling stressed out during the day -- it's very grounding/comforting to me. I'm not very good at picking out individual scents, so to me the background of this scent is a "warm" blend of oils... This blend is all about the catnip for me.
