Ooooh! This is lovely. It reminds me of the old perfume Chloƫ, but much more sophisticated. A Chloƫ for the grown-up, accomplished woman who doesn't take BS from anybody. Slight incencey and fruity, but so well blended that it's very hard to pick out specific noted. You'll have to pry this bottle out of my cold, dead hands, cuz this one is a keeper! ETA: because the poster above me says it fades fast, it's quite the opposite with me. I've been wearing it for a few days now and can smell it faintly the next day even. Wow!

Where is my order? What is Click N Ship? How long does this take?
Lunaliquid replied to Snow White's topic in BPAL FAQs
So am I (Strawberry Moon and a couple of Tikis placed on 5-10), but I'm not going to start bothering the Lab until sometime next week. I must confess that I worry just a tiny bit when I see people getting CnS's for orders placed 2 weeks later than mine. ETA: I got a CnS later that day. WooHoo!!!! -

I got this one on a whim, thinking it wouldn't work on me and I could send it on to my Switch Witchee. Plum rarely works on me, and burgundy wine turns to rotting grapes in my experience. Bottle arrived yesterday and the introductory sniff made me pretty convinced that Makhanitis would be moving on, but then this morning I made the big mistake of skin testing it. Back off, withchee!!! This here lady is MINE!!! Champaca and sandalwood, 2 of my favorite notes, are very much in the foreground with fruity middle and top note. I could have sworn Lady Makhanitis had been gnawing on a pomegranate before she took up residence in this bottle, because that's what I get. Oh, and this girl is S-T-R-O-N-G! One tiny little drop goes very far. Love, love, love in a bottle. The Lady hath spoken; she has put her galoches on, toured the ranch and decided to stay. She will roll up her sleeves and devise a plan to rock my world. What can I do but obey?

What's on my key ring? In addition to keys I have a braided piece of horse tail hair, wrapped in beads, and a black metal kitten. Arm measurements? Wrist 6 1/4 inch, right below elbow 10 inches Personal Good Luck charm? Hubby and I used to each have a "Croix du Sud" on a leather string around our necks. We trekked through Morocco for a month when we were dating. It was our first time away together and kindof a test if we could deal with each other. We're married now, so I guess we passed the test. We spent a lot of time in the northern Sahara desert with the Berbers and picked up the Croix du Sud from them. They use it to guide their way through the desert at night. Husband's broke after wearing it daily for about 6 years, but he still has it in a drawer. I lost mine. The Hogwarts Sorting Hat would say... Hufflepuff! Knitted wire jewelry? They rock! What's on my desktop? a picture of my firstborn...... goat, that is. Her name is Trouble (well-deserved name), and she is laying in black rubber feed trough looking really cute. What do I collect, besides BPAL? Other perfume oils, yarn, books. Animals (sigh) How do you feel about Lush? Anything you want to try? I keep hearing about Lush but have never tried any of it. I'm a sucker for yummy smelling hairproducts (although I never use any gels, mousses, or hair sprays), nice hand and/or body creams (Colorado dry weather is murder on my skin and especially notorious for giving me hangnails while I'm knitting), body butters and scrubs, shower gels and bath bubbles. I really enjoy dark resinous blends and fresh & fruity scents. Do you want to try the Will Call only Champagne scents? The only one which really intrigued me was Champagne and Cigars, and I have a bottle coming my way from Mr. S. If my witch was planning on surprising me with any of the Champagne scents, please don't. There are so many other people she could make insanely happy with those, and I'm all set. Would you please share your favorite e-card site? I am so horrible with e-card sites. I've just discovered the joy of sending e-cards, so I'm going by what other people have recommended, don't have any great finds of my own. Do you play on-line games? Which one and which server? Do you need any funds/equipment/help adventuring? I've never been able to play online games due to our slow rural internet connection causing too much of a lag time for that sort of playing. My favorite video games are Halo, Elder Scrolls, Tombraider, and Myst. Do you have traditional holiday movies you like to watch? Nope What are your "guilty pleasures" type movies? That you really secretly like but don't like to admit to it? Probably disaster type movies. What are your favorite websites (i.e., the ones you visit every day, or almost every day)? Ravelry, NA, CP, My Yahoo, Wikipedia, Youtube, PandoraRadio, dutch and norwegian online newspapers. Oh, and BPAL of course. Anyone a fan of Goddess art? I like it, but I don't go out of my way to find any. Do you like coffee mugs? Travel or stay at home? How big? Do you like ones from Starbucks? I don't drink coffee, but husbeast does. We have a senseo machine, so mugs can't be too tall or else they won't fit in the machine. I have a couple of travel mugs, but they are collecting dust in the cupboard. Do you like tea? What kinds of tea (green, red, white, black, decaf, herbal infusions)? Feel free to get specific on brands and tea types. Loose or bagged? Do you need any kind of tea accessories? Pots/cozys/presses/strainers? Tea is my friend. It makes me pee a lot, but it's still my friend. I like all kinds of fruity teas and Earl Grey, but no rooibos or chai please. If you drink coffee, do you like whole bean coffee or prefer ground? What grind? What roast (mild, medium, bold, extra bold)? Do you like flavored coffee? See above. What is your favorite hot chocolate or drinking chocolate? Do you need Vegan or no? My Starbucks fix is hot chocolate. I always make them skip the vanilla syrup which they add to sweeten it up; I like my chocolate strong and a little bitter. Do you need any decanting supplies? Pipettes? Vials? How about any wand caps? Roller bottles? Some spray bottles (for oils mixed with alcohol?) I would absolutely worship the ground you walk on for some decanting supplies. Pipettes and vials would be awesome, and I'm really liking the wandcap that came with a swapped bottle, so yes please! I'm set on roller bottles and I'm not anticipating needing any spray bottles (mixing BPAL with alcohol??? the heresy!) How do you feel about home made lip balm, salt or sugar scrubs, soap, bath salts, etc? What kind of flavors and notes do you like? I would love to receive some. My fav lip balm is Blistex Silk & Shine, but I'm always game for expanding my comfort zone. I love salt and sugar scrubs (CocoaPink gets much of my mullah), I'm not that interested in bath salts, though (prefer bubbles). I love Vanilla Sandalwood, musks, patchouli, citrus and other fruity goodness. Sooooo.....if you were to receive a hand-knitted item, what color(s) would you prefer AND are there any types of yarn that you just cannot handle (e.g. wool, llama, etc.) I have never received anything handknit before and I would love to! I can wear all kinds of yarn, but mohair and angora sometimes give me sneezing fits if there's a lot of fuzz flying around. Fav colors are pink, purple, blue, naturals (please no orange, yellow, or green if it's going to be on anything above my knees; those colors make me look sick). So, in the spirit of such things, what is one REALLY expensive, completely outrageous thing you would LOVE to get but totally don't expect to ever get from anyone? I can't think of anything to be honest. I'm happy as a clam and there is nothing that says OhMiGawd-I've-Got-To-Have-It-Now. Who were your favorite Buffy and Angel characters? None of them, I've never watched the show Webkinz? Nope. I sense a theme here; it's the episode in which we all discover how tragically unhip Luna is when it comes to tv and web schtuffs. Any favorite cartoon characters? Disney, Sanrio, etc? Point in case. What's your favorite texture? A tough one. I like all kinds of texture; soft as silk, fuzzy as a kitten's fur, smooth as glass or ice. What's one luxury item you want to pamper yourself with but haven't yet? Honestly, I'm pretty fortunate and don't often find myself lusting for something. Of course, that was before I saw Champagne and Cigars. Crap! Alright witches, who is ordering the Moon of the Terrible oil? Don't think so, it sounds like it probably wont work on me, but the t-shirt will be mine thanks to the lovely Ahania who is adding mine to her order! MuaH! Does your forum name have a special significance? Refer to something or someone you admire? Reflect your interests? Come on, spill! Lunaliquid is my first and only screen name since 1997. I was feeling a little sad when I had to sign up with a name. It was a full moon and I was crying. Voila LunaLiquid. Later I named my farm and horse breeding business Agua de Luna (because andalusians are spanish horses, and llamas speak spanish too). Physical activities? Need equipment? I have the Wii fit with all I need and a gym membership that has been sorely neglected lately. What I need is a good kick in the butt! are there any rare (or even uber-rare) scents that you'd really like to try? I want to know everyone's BPAL holy grail! ChampNCigs, original Hexennacht (to compare), Skadi, Mabon, Ivanushka, and Torture King. What are 3 places that you'd like to visit, or re-visit? New Zealand (the only place my mom lived that I didn't get to visit), Palau (always wanted to go scubadiving there but it's so far away), Antigua Guatemala (we got married there, and I'd love to go back and relive the moment). What cartoons did you grow up watching? Any animated shows you still watch? None! My parents didn't think cartoons were educational enough, so those were forbidden items in our house. Le Sigh. Once in a while I'd read a Donald Duck magazine if I was at a friend's house, but that's about it. Do you read graphic novels/comics? Which ones? Nope, see above. Favorite animals? Least favorite? ::Giggles:: Favorite animals are dogs, cats, horses, goats, llamas (but they're very hard to love since they're so aloof), all kinds of monkeys and apes, the Moose is my totem animal, tigers (I had a fun relationship with a tiger when I worked at the Amsterdam Zoo), dolphins (I got to swim for ages with wild dolphins off the coast of Bimini and it had a profound impact on me), and kinds of other critters. Least favorite animal: coyotes, only because they want to eat my cats and goats, but I can't really blame them for that. How do you feel about Heifer International? Or do you have other favorite charities not mentioned in your application? I love Heifer Intl. and we usually donate to them along with Salvation army, Red Cross, the BOS (Borneo Oranutang Rescue Foundation) and the Tso Pema Medical Fund. So for all witches of the shimmying types- would you like tassel belts/jingle belts/ ect and if so, how big are your hips? I'm not really a belt wearer. Most of the time I wear my BPTP yoga pants and on the rare occasion I get to go into town I don't really wear a belt either. Sorry. Do you like honey? Will you like to try creamy honey with black sesame or with cinnamon powder? Sorry, I'm not averse to honey, but it's not one of my favorite things either.... Who are your forum friends, person or people your witch can contact for ideas? I don't know that many people yet, but Ahania and Wildbriar have been to my house once for a Meet and Sniff. The person I used to communicate the most with is The_Witching_Hour, but she seems to have fallen off the edge of the earth and isn't answering my concerned PMs. If anybody knows her, please let me know she's okay? I be worried. Houseplants and/or things to put them in: thoughts? I have a green thumb and I love all kinds of plants. There are many big plants in my living room, and I grow my own vegetables both in my garden and in my greenhouse. I do have a multitude of plant containers already though, and for outdoor plants I need to make sure they'll thrive in my type of climate. My first year here I planted a dutch garden like used to have back home, and every single plant died due to the harsh climate. I live at 7,000 feet elevation with night frost as late as June, very dry summers with strong winds and big temperature swings. I'd really like a poinsettia this year, but with a new puppy who explores with her teeth I've been holding off on purchasing one because of their toxicity. I just bought an amaryllis yesterday so I at least have a little Christmas cheer in plant form now. This is also my first year with a fake Christmas tree! I don't remember if I already wrote this in a different answer, but I'm pretty set in my tree decoration; silver, glass, and white. No blinking, multi-colored lights and no weird rotating reindeer. Boring, yes I know. Do you like baskets, jars and other interesting containers? Filled or Empty? I have tons of little boxes that I was thinking of decoupaging and sending along... Boxes! I loves me some boxes! Imp cases! I have the witches BPTP imp case and use it every day. New question: Shoe size? Style of shoe preferred? Any interest in slippers? 8.5 - 9 (european 39) depending on the shoe. I practically live in my crocs. Other favorite brands are Ariat (mules, boots), Uggs and Dansko. I've been eyeing the Fluvogs, but need to save up for that. I knit my own slippers. how about everyone else-what jewelry do you wear everyday-or do you change jewelry all the time? I only wear my wedding band and other rings when I go out. Rings tend to get in the way when I'm doing my chores. Usually I wear 2 silver bracelets, earrings (either small studs or dangly ones) and I do wear a necklace du jour or lavalliere (I have the BPTP brimstone locket and love it!) New question: Does anyone get help from significant others, children, or others not involved in the forums on their Switch Witch? Nope, husbeast rolls his eyes at this stuff. Would you like a handmade piece of calligraphy as a gift? It would be cool, but I don't know if I'd know what to do with it though. How about a short - or longer - piece of fanfic? I'm not sure what fanfic means..... here's one for my fellow switch witches: What is the weirdest and/or most practical thing you are not buying for yourself right now? The thing that you probably should be buying, but have been putting off in lieu of something else? That's a tough one. The faucet in my kitchen is giving me the fits, but that's more a deal with getting the husbeast to fiddle with it. I've never gotten around to getting a decent bra fitted. I hate bras, but I have to wear them. Can't stand underwires, but I need more support than what a wireless (LOL) bra can give me. Question: do you like to cook? if so, what? Would you like things like spices, cookbooks, recipes, tips? I love to cook! My spice cabinet overfloweth, and if it wasn't alphabetized (OCD?) I wouldn't be able to find a single thing. I'm the proud owner of hundreds of cookbooks, but only use them to gather ideas most of the time. I really love to "wing it" in the kitchen. It turns out great most of the time, but once in a while it becomes a disaster of epic proportions. You live and learn. I'd love to get recipes on just about anything What Winter Holiday do celebrate? I celebrate Christmas, or "Jul" as it's called in my house. It involves LOTS of food on Christmas Eve (pork roast with the skin still on, which becomes nice and crispy under the grill, cooked potatoes, red cabbage, brown sauce, 13 different types of cookies, etc). We open our gifts on the Eve after dinner and cleaning up the kitchen. Then we hit the table again around noon on Christmas Day and spend the whole day eating (herring, spareribs, ham, salted and smoked leg of lamb, etc etc). Yeah, just stick it right on my hips! Now that it's only husbeast and my mom and myself we'll not go terribly overboard, but still. It's a lot of food. Burp! Do any of you like puzzle books? In theory yes, but I've had the same sudoku book in my bathroom now for over a year and don't really use it. Are there any other forums that you frequent? Ravelry, Nocturne Alchemy, CocoaPink, Lush. But other than Ravelry I'm not that vocal. And ARGHH I just googled Lunaliquid; there's pages and pages of liquid soap dispensers, a few impostors using my name (srsly, I've had this name online since 1997), and porn What is the biggest problem or sad thing in your life? Of course, I mean the saddest or worst thing you can confess here. Uhm, about 2 years ago I herniated 3 discs in my back. I've seen several neurologists and they all want me to get 3 levels fused, but I'm not really keen on that right now. It made me have to close my practice (I'm a veterinarian) and I haven't been able to ride my horses in quite a while. My daily life on the farm has its challenges since there's no way I can avoid having to schlepp around with a couple hundred pounds of hay on a daily basis, or scoop up wheelbarrow loads of poop. I was doing pretty well with a personal trainer a while back, but she pushed me too hard and injured both my shoulders. Now I have the Wii Fit and could probably use a witch who would give me a kick in my butt to actually USE the darned thing. I just have to be really careful with what I do and how I do it. It doesn't help that I had all my plumbing taken out when I was 33, and I'm coming up on 10 years now without any hormones in my body. My body is old, but my mind isn't! Other than my health I'm actually pretty happy and content, and I'm not a person to sit around and mope. I guess I'd love my witch to be a motivator and a random jokester? Christmas music? In small doses. I would probably have to tear my hair out if I worked in retail this time of the year. Favorite drinks to keep myself warm and toasty? No coffee, chai, or mochas for me. My whole life I've wanted to me able to drink that stuff (it would have come in so handy while I was pulling allnighters to study) but alas one sip makes me puke. However, I have the biggest tea collection this side of China and I love unsweetened hot chocolate (at Starbucks I get them to skip the vanilla syrup they usually add to their hot choc.) Foreign music? I like some french music (Les Charmeurs, Guesch Pati), spanish music (flamenco, Paco de Lucia, Paco Pena, etc.), african music (yussuf n'dour, etc.) and middle eastern music (ofrah haza and middle eastern inspired trance and chillout music), but I don't really enjoy chinese and japanese music. My mom used to live in Hong Kong and I traveled quite a bit in that region. Love the food, but not so much the music. Sorry. Unless it's the tibetan monks' throaty chants. Those are cool. Handmade jewelry or the beads to make them myself? Tough one. I have a pretty sizable bead collection but rarely take the time to sit down and make something. I'm also not that good at finagling those tiny joins. But I love beaded jewelry and would be very happy with something my witch made for me. Please make sure though, that it won't pull out the hair in my neck. I've made a few chains myself that ended up tangled horribly in the hair and I finally had to cut some of my hair off to get my freedom back. So you see, I'm not terribly skilled in jewelry making. What I would be absolutely squeeing for joy with receiving is funky buttons. Art buttons, polymer clay buttons, glass buttons, norwegian pewter clasps, etc. Stuff that I can incorporate into my knitting designs. Candy/sweets No cinnamon candy please (what's with this odd fascination of americans to put cinnamon in gum and candy? Don't y'all know that cinnamon should only be used in real food? Like in cinnamon rolls and stuff? ) I LOVE dubbelsalted licorice (dubbelzoute drop in dutch), turkish pepper (salmiak), haribo's gummibears, and all things sour. Caramels are a particular weakness, especially the ones that are covered in CHOCOLATE! Steampunk? Not really my style, sorry Cat hair? I see cat hair, they're everywhere! With 4 cats and 3 dogs in the house I'm pretty much covered in it, and I didn't have the wisdom to at least pick 4 cats of the same colorway, so it shows on absolutely everything. Come to think of it, it might be a good idea to not make my witchee a person with allergies. I vacuum almost every day, but it's impossible to remove all evidence of my furbabies. D&D/roleplay? Not really into it. Which witches would like hair accessories: clips, scrunchies, hairsticks, headscarves, etc? Me, me, me! I have almost waist length very thick hair and I always need to put it up, up, and away. I found some really nifty hairclips that I'm itching to try http://www.flexi8.com The only thing I haven't had success with is head scarves. Either I don't know how to tie them correctly or I'm just doomed to look weird wearing them. Yarn Heck ya! I do prefer natural materials, and I can't really knit with cotton without it really bothering my hands. Hand beaded jewellery, yay or nay? Yay! To make up for the fact that I probably won't be able to send my witchee homebaked goodies, will Tim Tams in any number of varieties be an acceptable replacement? I've heard them mentioned several times on the forum, but don't know what they are made of. If they're made with malt or mocha then probably not, but if they're fruity, chocolaty and/or caramelly then I'm all in! Is there any time during the holidays (or the rest of the round) when you'll be away from home for a significant period and it'd be best not to send anything by mail? Nope, stuck at home. I have my mom here visiting for 6 (gulp) weeks, and she has emphysema and heart failure. I have the sneaking suspicion that she wasn't really honest with me when she said her doctors had given her they thumbs up and "gave their permission" for her to fly from Holland (which is below sea level) to Colorado (I live at 7,000 feet). So yeah, I'm kinda stuck at home for the foreseeable future. Don't get me wrong; I love the fact that she is able to visit, but I'm scared out of my mind that she won't survive this stay. Would you like to receive ATCs (artist trading cards) or would you prefer something more usable, like bookmarks or something? Bookmarks would be great. I always have a book or two in progress on my night stand. What witch would like a cloak? I would love a cloak! Since we're talking about warm winter wearables, who likes hats? Mittens? Arm warmers? I've knit a million of those myself, so I'm all set for now. If your witch were to send you cookies, what kind of cookies would you like? I love chocolate, and I love almond. I absolutely would squee if I were to receive coconut macaroons. Who likes tshirts? What about homemade tshirts? Heck ya! XXL to fit teh beewbs. Can't wear yellow, green, or orange as they make me look like death warmed over, my favorite colors are purple, grey, pink, naturals, and black.

The Ifrit - how I love Thee!!! Got to sniff a bottle at a M&S but was too shy to ask for a skin test. It smelled so good that I just had to order a bottle even though it contains notes that usually don't work on me at all (pepper, ginger, and especially cinnamon). Based on the note description The Ifrit and I would have been ships passing in the night for all eternity. I'm thinking back 13 years. I'd been with my boyfriend for a couple of months and we decided to take a trip together to find out just how compatible we were. Off we went to trek through Morocco for a month. We rented a Renault 4 and headed for the northern part of the Sahara desert. The area is so desolate that we had to check in at guard posts along the way (complete with the wonderful tea ceremony) so they would know if our car broke down somewhere and come to our rescue. The Ifrit brings back memories of sleeping on the roof of a boarding house in the middle of nowhere under a full moon and millions of stars. It takes me back to a small oasis called Tata where we got invited inside for a traditional meal by a regular family, just because we walked past their house. It reminds me of scorching sand under the hot sun and the intriguing smells of a caravan. And finally, it makes me smile because this vacation was the perfect start to my wonderful marriage to my husband. Beth; thank you for creating this olfactory journey down memory lane!

I'm posting this hoping that someone in the know might be able to shed some light on something that popped up today. Back in December of 2007 I ordered a couple of bottles from Dark Delicacies. One of them was The Pit & the Pendulum. As it turned out, I didn't really care for the blend, so when I had the opportunity to swap it away I leapt at the chance. However, the recipient just PM'ed me today that the bottle she received is nothing like she expected (i.e. totally different from the original version). Was the formulation changed at some point? I had tested it twice, cleanly, and the bottle was stored in a cool and dark place in a smoke-free home. I went to the review site and couldn't find any mentioning of a difference in formulation. Luckily my swap partner is being very nice about it, but I still feel really bad. Since I haven't smelled the original version (honestly, I didn't even know there was a previous version, so it didn't even come up in our conversation), I can't tell if the difference is due to a different formulation or if my bottle was mis-labeled. TIA ~ Luna

I'm going wild for the Wilde! Apparently I really love what's considered male type fragrances on my skin. I received a frimp from the Lab in my latest shipment, and I'm sold on it. In the imp I smell a slight and mellow citrus, but once it touches my skin it amps up and becomes a lovely bright and shiny floral citrus, quite heavy on the top notes. On drydown I smell a hint of patchouli, but not in a smack-in-your-nostrils kind of patchouli way. It deepens the blend, grounds it. Wilde has some serious staying power, which is how I love my perfume. This will definitely be a bottle purchase for me with my next order. Thanks Labbies, for picking out the perfect scent for me!
-
Oh wow! The Robotic Scarab was a "fill up the imp pack pick" based on the notes listed, and I fully anticipated it heading to the swaps pile as soon as I got it. I couldn't have been more wrong! I love the smell of leather, but I like my leather to be on a sweaty horse and not on my skin, thankyouverymuch. However, this time the leather behaves beautifully on me. It stays close to my skin and is enveloped in a warm glow of frankincense and star anise. The top note smells like a very expensive perfume - if that's the polished metallic notes, I want more. I've been avoiding anything with metallic notes just from the description, but I think I need to rethink that phobia. All in all an excellent blend, absolutely bottle worthy, and a total surprise! I can't wait to dab this one on right before I go to the gym today. I have an uncontrollable urge to smell like a sweaty horse..... (just hope the other patrons won't mind too much)

Oh, this is made of WIN! In the bottle Reminds me somewhat of a cough syrup I took as a child. Now that I'm starting to learn how to pick out certain notes, I definitely smell the red musk (which I adore), and a fruity top note. Wet Fruit is still in the foreground, with the red musk anchoring the scent while vetiver remains shy and barely noticeable. I can barely detect the tea (it is definitely not as prominent as in Theodosius), but the lavender rears it's head unfortunately. Dry Oh wow! This mellows down into a lovely mixture of fruit and red musk, with tea and smoky tobacco. Vetiver and lavender have completely vanished and I'm pleased. The smokiness reminds me to some degree of Black Lace although the scents are nothing alike. Like previous posters have said; it is not a very persistent scent that hangs around the whole day, I have to reapply after 4 hours or so, but I don't mind reacquainting myself with this one over and over again. Definitely worth hoarding. I'll stock up on this one before it disappears. YUM!
-
In the bottle Wowza!!! As previously mentioned by many; this is vanilla frosting in a bottle. Nothing more, nothing less. Wet Oh no, plastic. Say it ain't so! Dry Thank the goddesses, this dries down to become the most gorgeous, well-rounded, and simply put ravishing of scents. It's very much like a more subdued version of Black Lace on me, complete with the smoky and boozy elements of Black Lace. WIN!

In the bottle Hello Jasmine! It's pretty much pure jasmine to my nose. I happen to like jasmine, so it's all good. Wet Oh my! One of my cats used to pee on my old stove. It was hard to see when she had done it, and it happened more times than I care to remember that I would turn the stove on and my house would fill with "eau de burnt cat pee". The Presence of Love goes through a brief stage reminiscent of those good old days. Dry Gone are the memories of feline body fluids burnt to a crisp. Jasmine forms the base, but Rose has made her appearance along with her little sister Grapefruit, who remains very close to the skin. It has become one of my favorite Lupercalia's so far. Edited to remove funky triple posting.......

PEACOCK QUEEN 2007 In the bottle Smells like a pure rose, sans stems, leaves and thorns. Wet Where Rose Red was all things rose (stems, leaves, and thorns), Peacock Queen is limited to the petals. I picture myself stomping in a big vat of rose petals as if I'm about to make rose wine. Dry This stays pure rose petal, no addition of greenery (as in Rose Red) or coconut/pine (as in Snow White). The scent stays pretty much the same from wet to dry phase. Verdict Delicious. I feel like I've just been tumbling about in a big vat of expensive roses. These are the petals of dark, almost black long stemmed roses. Peacock Queen should actually have been released as part of the Lupercalia catalog due to the wonderful romantic aspect of the scent. This is what my house would smell like if my husband would remember Valentine's Day. Le Sigh.......

SNOW WHITE 2007 In the bottle Faint rose, VERY faint. Nothing else. Wet Still very faint rose, but now I smell a little fresh coconut meat as well. Dry The drydown is the most interesting phase. I get the faint whiff of roses bygone, but up pops a smidgen of pine resin, as if I've just brushed a pine tree and gotten some sticky sap on my wrist. The funny thing is that I would expect this to cause the scent to become cold and distant, but it becomes a nice, warm comforting scent. I want to snuggle up on the couch in my favorite oversized woolen sweater and huff my wrist for the rest of the day. Verdict Very nice. If it wouldn't be a travesty to do so, I would love to transform this scent to a dryer sheet and make all my warm, snuggly clothes smell like this.

ROSE RED 2007 Bottle Sharp, tangy, almost peppery rose. Wet Oh wow! A very true rose, full of thorns, stems, and leaves. It is as if a herd of elk broke into my greenhouse and trampled the roses and I'm stuck cleaning up the damage while crying bitterly over all the beauty lost. Dry More of the above, but now it seems the elk trampled my lemon geraniums as well. There is a soft whisper of slight peppery lemon (a scent which I associate with rubbing the leaves of my lemon scented geranium plants). Absolutely fabulous! Verdict Love it, love it, love it! It is the perfect scent for me when I want to feel like summer in my garden while the world outside is perpetually frozen in ice. It gives me the promise that yes, this winter shall pass, and soon it will be just a fleeting memory. Brava!

Oh Angeronalia, my love! This is what I want to smell like when I'm feeling joyous and carefree. I received this bottle from the lab, and while I had placed the order, the husbeast had snagged the package, wrapped it and put it under the tree. It took a while for me to try it on. One day I put Angeronalia on one wrist and a dab of a newly received imp of Snow Moon on the other, only I forgot which I put where. Standing in line I kept sniffing my own wrist, reveling in the lovely smell surrounding me, much to the amusement of other post office patrons. I was convinced the lovely smell must be the Snow Moon of which I only had a small imp, but HOORAY!!! it turned out to be Angeronalia. In the bottle: Very faint, reminiscent of a lovely bouquet of sweet pea flowers. Wet Stage: Smells like a large bouquet of spring flowers. It is a very white, elevated scent, with a hint of citrus. I get absolutely no hint of patchouli (I happen to like patchouli, btw). Dry Stage: This one doesn't morph much on me. It keeps that wonderful spring-like flowery quality, it stays strong and lasts for about 4 hours. I'm a dabber, not a slatherer. Just placed an order last night for 2 more bottles, and have another imp coming from a forum purchase. 5 out of 5! I'm usually a more earthy type of person (Lucifer, Scherezade, Snake Oil, Voodoo, etc.) so this is truly a surprise. ~ Lunaliquid
