    Knockout Drops

Mint and lemon dries down to vanilla with a faint minty edge. I like this, but I think it's too light for me. I like my foody scents to waft around me. Knockout Drops is hardly there at all.

    Young Pine Saplings

I'd love a creamy clove but instead I get GINGER! I don't know that I'll even bother to let this one age a bit because I don't think anything will silence the screaming ginger. Too bad, I had high hopes for Young Pine Saplings.

    Good

I feel neutral about Good. It's okay. And I realize it's meant to be layered, and I'm sure it's great in combination with other oils. On its own, though... it's a pale, quiet vanilla musk. It's something I'd let my 6 year old wear, but not something I'd choose to wear by itself. I'll have to try to collect some other RPG oils as my budget allows and test out some combinations.

    HalĂ´a

I like this better than I remember liking the previous Haloa. It's really sweet and cakey, with a background of smoke and a twist of pom.

    Lovers in a Carp Streamer

I find Lovers In A Carp Steamer to be OK. I smell cranberry and cedar and tobacco flower. I like all of those things, but I'm not really wowed by this combination. It smells fine, but I'm just not sure how often I would reach for this one.

    Croquet Claw Polish

I don't know that I've ever used polishes as flawless as the ones from the Lab. They are amazing. I used Croquet over the weekend and my nails came out near-perfect. I'm not a great manicurist, so I tend to use glitters and such in order to distract the viewer from my less-than-adequate painting ability. Croquet needs no such embellishments. One coat gave me near-opaque coverage, two was gorgeous and even with NO bubbling. I can't believe how great my nails look! Colorwise, mine look just like Jenn2D2's-a perfect Barbie-bubblegum pink.

    Forbidden Fruit

Usually I like lotus, so I don't know what went wrong here. I think there's jasmine in this, and *that's* where the real trouble is. Can't find citrus, and I don't think I smell amber, either, just the bad jasmine sort of scent, with lotus underneath. Dries down to a powdery (there's the amber?) lotus and jasmine. Meh.

    Roses, Pearls, and Diamonds

Oh, this is so beautiful. I don't get along with orris, but I don't really smell it here. I get glistening roses and coconut. This could easily be called Roses and Opals, because it seems more glowy and lusterous than pearls. This is not at all my type of scent, but it's still very pretty and I will keep the imp around. I really love the coconut the Lab's been using lately, it's not as overwhelming as the coconut in say, old-school Spooky. I like this softer, sweeter coconut.

    Lolita

I had forgotten how much I liked Lolita. Lemon verbena is dominant, with sweet honeysuckle and sparkly heliotrope supporting it.

    Alice

Alice! Why don't I give you more attention? Alice goes on really sour--the milk and bergamot smell spoiled. But after that, it's sweet and powdery and innocent. The carnation really stands out, and I love carnation, so that's a plus. It's not as clovey as I would normally like, but it's unmistakably carnation. Very light and pretty.
  11. Lemon-lime, red currant, musk. As has been said, Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues is a really green scent--but green in the 51/Alien Invasion way, not really in a planty way. Just green. I really like this.

    Croquet

Croquet never smells like I expect it to smell. I expect lime, and I get lime, but also flowers, which now make sense, looking at the notes (and thinking about the context). To me, Croquet means flamingos! and I don't really think about the actual croquet game. So. Lime and flowers (not roses per se) and grapefruit and bergamot. I've never noticed patchouli, which is strange. Croquet is bright and spring/summery, with a good balance of fruit/floral. I've used up and entire imp and am on to a second, so it might be time to grab a bottle.

    Mahana

Aw, Mahana. Sweet and fruity at first quickly turns to almond (cherry) syrup and then it goes sort of floral and perfumey on me. It's not bad, but I love pineapple and always have high hopes for any blend that includes it. I'm usually disappointed. (I think my skin doesn't like pineapple. )

    Brown Jenkin

Aw, it's so cute! Sandalwood and just-right coconut and incense. This is surprisingly soft and snuggly and comforting.

    NGAGL5

Bright cherry turns to cough syrup cherry turns to candied apple coating on the stove bordering on caramelization, turns to perfect cherry candy. Reapplication only intensifies the good, sweet cherry bit. I can't shake my image of candied apples, though. I suspect there may be a slice of apple here, and maybe a spritz of lemon a la Treatsy. I was hoping for Jolly Ranchers but I really like what I ended up with. Is this Neil Gaiman American Gods Laura? Or Loki?

    IXHV37

There are a lot of different opinions here! I thought I was smelling coffee, and maybe there is some here, but I definitely agree on pumpkin. It makes me think of Pumpkin Latte with the pumpkin and spices, so maybe it's just phantom coffee because of that association. But then I get a sort of piney note? It's almost like a cross between Pumpkin Latte and Samhain--it smells sort of autumn-outdoors like a bonfire with damp wood and burning leaves. Maybe some fruit is there, but I'm not really sure. As it dries, it goes a little fruity/floral (blackcurrant?) incensy. This is so strange but so good. I want to keep reapplying so I can keep trying to figure out what's in here.

    AF6

This is so floral when applied--smells to me like both gardenia and jasmine, in a bad way. It calms down to a lovely gardenia and peach scent, like a reverse Josie. I feel like I get a sort of sourness from this, but I don't know what it is. A side-effect of the flowers? The green leaves of the trees? The grass the peaches crushed as they fell to the ground? After some time, I decide there are peach blossoms here, too. It could be the blossoms causing the sharp edge. In any case, this oil screams springtime to me, which is exactly what I needed on this hideously chilly day.

    CD: Tilt v4

I love Tilt v4! First off, I smell spearmint, like Wrigley's gum, but underneath, there's fruit. Melon surely, but I can't really pick out anything else. There's a bright, almost-citrus smell--it actually smells quite a bit like lemonade to me, but more like the lemonade-flavored powdered drink mix. But that's good! It smells great! There may be some tart red currant in here, too. Oh, I'm in love!

    Kitty Bath Salts

I was most looking forward to the Kitty bath salts, and I don't think they'll disappoint. In the bag, they're scented with strawberry and vanilla cream musk and I think they'll be brilliant in the bath.

    Celeste Bath Salts

Funny. In the bag, this smells almost exactly like the perfume oil to me. I think the salts are a little warmer and spicier, but very similar.

    Virginia Bath Salts

In the bag, this smells fantastic. It smells like spicy vanilla sandalwood. I like this much more than the perfume oil, it's much simpler.
  22. Gin

    Celeste

I get mostly vanilla orchid from Celeste. I can see where the vanilla cotton candy/cotton candy musk impression comes from. I think it almost smells boozy.... and I like that.
  23. Gin

    Virginia

Virginia is my given name, so despite iffy notes, I had to give it a try. On my skin, it's... good. Not amazing, but not bad. Musk, incense, sweet florals, sandalwood. I think I'll give this one the benefit of the doubt and keep it around to see how it ages.
  24. Gin

    Kitty

Kitty was strawberries and buttery cake at first. Is it French vanilla that does that? I don't care for that much at all, but it doesn't last long. When that goes away... Fabulous. Strawberry, vanilla, orchid, and sandalwood. I wish the Lab would do more strawberry--though an abundance of strawberries might make them seem less amazing when they do come around. And that would be a shame, because Kitty is amazing.

    Castitas Bath Oil

So lovely. Castitas is light and ... virginal sort of scent. I don't want to say 'girly/girlish' because that conjures up images of sweetness and candy. Castitas is refined, flowers and vanilla cream. It's gorgeous!
