This smells cold and melancholy. Cold marble halls, cold flowers. In spite of that, it's quite pretty. It smells a bit like carnations on me.

Mmmm, apricot. I love apricot. I wonder if there’s a bit of cedar in this one? Something smells a bit like pencil shavings, and cedar tends to do that on me. I like Depraved in spite of that, though. The apricot is very sweet, like dried apricots, and the patchouli smells like black earth. Fabulous!

When I first applied Delight, I was taken aback by how sour it seemed. Frangipani tends to do that on my skin—go sour at first but then blossom into lovliness. Sadly, Delight doesn’t deliver, and instead lets the jasmine run rampant, creating a sweet, powdery, air-freshener type scent.

Neroli! Desire is at first, neroli over dark musky patchouli, but it doesn’t strike me as being dark. The vanilla, bergamot, and apple rush in to keep it light. Desire has the same sort of warm feel I get from Haunted. As it dries, the neroli and apple fade, leaving me with a very nice musky vanilla.

This is going to sound completely bizarre, but what first popped in my head when I smelled Highwayman was mayonnaise. Once I get past that, I smell the leather and the gardenia and the vetivert, and it reminds me of Scorpio a little bit. I'm very pleasantly surprised.

This is very acrid on me. It smells like fire. There's something really dark in this blend, but not like sexy dark, more like menacing, creepy dark.

Oh amber! This is quite lovely. At first, the best description I can come up with is clean and Aveda-like. I suspect it's the apple blossom that's giving this a clean/soapy feel. As it dries, it loses some of that clean feeling and is a sexy apple-amber, with a hint of carnation. Very nice. A bit like Verdandi on my skin.

My preconceived notions were way off on this one. I think I did selective ingredient reading and only read "honey" and "clove". On, there's a green edge at first, and I can smell the honey and ylang ylang and it reminds me of Lush's Flying Saucers. I get a hint of fig, which is pleasant, but I went into this thinking it would be sweeter with a clove edge, and that's not what I got at all. Not disappointed, just surprised. The final stages are a kind of honey "skin scent", which is quite nice.

This is very floral on me, with a touch of musk. The florals are lush and full-bodied. It's like burying your face in a cool, fresh-cut bouquet.

Mint! But not sharp mint, layyyzy mint. Sit-a-spell mint. Southern mint. As it dries, the booze becomes more apparent, and there's a powdery element that I can't quite place. It makes me feel lazy and relaxed. Perfect for summer and sitting on the veranda all afternoon with some sweet tea (or a mint julep, of course!). Well done, Beth!

Grape Single Note I love this. It is artificial in a candy-sweet way, like grape Tootsie Roll Pops, but that's why I like it. It's different and fun.

Rose Single Note This is a pink powdery feminine rose scent. I found it to be lovely on its own--much better than some rose perfumes I've smelled.

I prefer PayPal. Like t3andcrumpets, I've heard that PayPal has lower fees and gets the money to the Lab faster. Also--and this is purely selfish on my part--with PayPal, I can have my order all typed up and ready to be sent first thing on the update day. I have it in a Word document, and then I can just cut and paste. (But be warned, should you choose to do the same, PayPal does not accept cut-and-pasted apostrophes or dashes. If you've used them, you'll have to delete and re-enter them before the order will be accepted.)

Chaos Theory XI Also reviewed by grrrlennyl, who graciously sent an imp my way. I feel foolish because something in this smells very familiar, yet I can't think of what it is. I can't pick out any notes. It's just soft and warm and slightly green-floral. There's something in the back that almost gives the impression of chocolate, though it doesn't really smell like chocolate. Maybe tobacco? It's very comforting.

You read my mind, tart! Titania is nice as well, but not as sensual as Tamora. I have high hopes for Aglaea, which I just ordered, and Yerevan, which I will try for the first time today.

Yup, pine and berries and snowflakes. It's the scent of Christmas tree day, when we go into the forest and pick a tree to cut. The pine is strong and cold at first, but then the berries begin to take over and the scent warms. This is a very festive scent.

This is warmth in a bottle. Warm and golden, there's a hint of cinnamon, a bit of spice, and tea. And warm, tall, sun-bleached grasses. Very nice, very subtle.

The Lily of the Valley is is in the spotlight, with the vanilla, mandarin and sandalwood giving it an incredible backdrop. It's sweet and floral and a bit powdery, anchored by the opium and sandalwood. Quite lovely.

This is soft and sweet. I can pick out the amber, but instead of "murky black musk" it seems almost lemony. This doesn't seem dark at all. Instead, it's buttery yellow and cozy. Edited to say that by the time I had finished writing down my thoughts on it, Haunted changed on me. It intensified and got darker. I like this quite a bit. Haunted is a perfect name for it as well. The scent lingered for quite awhile on my wrists and on the sleeve of my sweatshirt and even longer in my mind.
