    Sagardoa Soap

Beautiful appley soap. Bar soaps are usually not appreciated in my household but everyone loves this one!

    Bilquis

I get lily, rose, and honey (powder) from Bilquis. Too floral for me.

    Harvest Moon 2010

At first, this is shockingly green. Ivy and pepper--like green pepper or jalapeno pepper, very green and spicy. ... And then it stays there. That's all I get. WTF? I put a little more on, to see if I could coax something else out of it. I think I got a whiff of pumpkin and maybe some florals but it mostly stays weird and spicy and green. In the last stages, I can smell soapy floral under the green, which has softened a bit but not much. I don't know what to think about this.

    Harvest Moon 2006

This is pretty much the Harvest Moon of my imagination. Sweet apple, leaves, spices. It smells like a restrained Samhain. I'd like a stronger black cherry-plum-apple presence, but I think I might miss out on the spicy-floral mums that are anchoring it. This is really nice, I'm glad I got a bottle.

    Honey Moon

Well, BPAL honeys hate me, and I don't like most jasmines, so I'm sure you can figure out the ending of this story. The honeys went powdery and jasmine and thyme razzed me.

    Pink Moon 2005

Still not enough strawberry for me. Phlox, strawberries, sugar, yay! But then the honey does its powdery thing and stomps all over the prettiness.

    Sea of Tranquility

Too floral and sharp for me. I was sure I'd get the usual bubblegummy sweetness from the lotus, but no, just pale flowers.

    Snow Moon

Since I love Frost Moon and Cold Moon, I didn't hesitate to pick up some Snow Moon. Snow Moon is similar in feel to those other Moons, as well as some of the icy Yules. There's some pine/fir and some ozone notes, but it's got the same cold, snowy feel as the others.

    Strawberry Moon 2005

Sadly, the ylang ylang and sage kind of ruin this for me. I tend to like my sweet scents to be over the top, so I wish the strawberries and cream would have been stronger.

    Wolf Moon 2004

Cold and woodsy. Not as furry and wolfy as I expected. I think I'd like this one better if I didn't already have my cold/icy/slushy/snow favorites.

    Storm Moon

I thought I'd get more water and less ozone, but this is so dryer-sheet ozoney, I can't get past it.

    Peach Moon

I wanted a screaming peach scent. Instead I got peach tea and florals. It's definitely pretty and it is peachy, but its not the bright PEACH! I wanted.

    Schwarzer Mond

I wish I had the vocabulary to describe this. It's spicy in an unusual way, it's almost piney, but not quite--must be the terebinth? It's dark and earthy. I bet it would be really sexy on a man, but its a little too much for me.

    Blood Moon 2008

Musky and earthy. It smells like an October night. It's not really smoky nor ozoney, but it has that tang of autumn air. Not my style.

    Black Moon

I think I expected this to be a dark version of Blue Moon. Instead, it veers too far into floral-land for me.

    Blood Moon 2005

The feral scent of the heat of the chase, deep woods, undulating musks, brushed by forest herbs, crushed grains, and touched by blood-dimmed lunar oils. 2004's October moon wasn't great on me, but I'm not one to give up, so I gave Blood Moon a try. I like this better than last year's Hunter Moon, but this one is still too musky for me.

    Flower Moon 2005

You'd think I'd know better than to buy something called Flower Moon when I'm not a bg fan of the florals, but no. I had to have it. Not surprisingly, I find it too floral--I don't care much for violets, and iris and daisies don't care my for my skin chemistry. I'll send it of to a floral-lover.

    Harvest Moon 2004

The notes look so good but all I get is buttery corn and flowers. I think the "corn" might actually be the pumpkin, but either way, it wasn't good on my skin. I've since decanted away most of the oil but I keep the bottle around because it makes me laugh. I really thought it was going to be amazing and it turned out to be my first real BPAL fail.

    Holiday Moon

I thought I'd love this one, but do not. I love the Lab's tea notes, but Holiday Moon taught me that I don't get along with bamboo.

    Hunter Moon 2004

Wine and smoke and animal musk. Wanted to love this, my birthday moon, but no.

    Long Night Moon

Aw, I wish Long Night Moon would've worked for me. I like most of the flowers listed, but on my skin... too floral.

    Chrysanthemum Moon

Resiny spicy floral. I get a weird syrupy-sweetness, too. And incense smoke. I want to like this, but it's just a wee bit off--I don't know what is in it that I don't care for, but I'm going to have to swap this away.

    Chaste Moon 2010

Chaste Moon 2010 is pretty white florals. I don't get the milkiness from '05, which is disappointing, but I feel like this one fits my idea of Chaste Moon better.

    Black Butterfly Moon

I should have trusted my gut on this one. In spite of the beautiful name, I let this one pass me by and then I ended up having second thoughts and grabbing it off of eBay. I shouldn't have second-guessed myself. It's nice enough, but it's not my style. It's dark and incensy/perfumey. No currant, no gardenia, and it makes my nose feel sneezy.

    Candles Moon

Eh, I wanted blackberries and milk and got smoke and wax.
