    Temple of Dreams

For use when working with the many Gods of Sleep, Dreams, and Nightmares. I just put this on, since I am needing to retire to bed and I just got this today, so I figured I would try it. In the bottle Whoa. Sharp, bitter herbs. I am scared to put this on - the smell is very strong and not one I like. I get no lemon or lavender. Wet on skin Still bitter and biting - rosemary and some potent lavender. Dry on skin It does soften after some time, even though I did not think it would. It is not what I would call a pretty scent, yet, by any means. A little pine-like. And, well, it burns a little. Conclusion: I guess I will have to tell you in the morning. Let's see if this can unlock the mysteries of my sub/unconcious mind. ETA: They should really place a warning on this like sleep medications do "Do not use this scent unless you can commit to a full night of sleep" and "Please be prepared with pen and paper to write down bizarre dreams" Now, I am usually a cynic when it comes to new age-y stuff like aromatherapy and stones and chakras, etc. However, I am turning into a believer and this only further enhanced that belief. I usually sleep 4-5 hours, wake up for an hour, then sleep again for 2 hours. I put this on at midnight. Woke up at 10am with only one interruption @ 5 b/c DD was crying. And I had several vivid, intricate dreams. This worked so well, I am actually kind of spooked. The cynic in me wants to blame the "psychosomatic" effect. But.....

    Kabuki

Tested and reviewed 11/13/07 In bottle Cherries and licorice. But NOT cherry licorice (like Twizzlers) Wet on skin Sweet and spicy plum - wierd since that is not a note in the blend. Dry on skin Sweet fruit smell settles down and softer musk tones come out. The more I smell this the more intoxicating it becomes. Conclusion The word that comes to my mind is sumptuous. This is a lovely smell, but it is not one that I see myself wearing often. My scents have moods, and mostly I wear them to cheer me up, sex me up, clean me up, or calm me down. But the smell is beautiful - the scent remains a dark red/plum color for me. I may not buy a bottle, but I think I will use the entire imp. (8/10)

    Titania

Tested and reviewed on 11/13/07 In the bottle Ripe, green grapes hanging off the vine at night with sparkling dew drops hanging from them. Wet on skin Peach, pear and sweet pea. Gorgeous and ripe - not too sweet on me. Dry on skin Lovely. Gorgeous summer scent! Light, airy, bubbly without being a silly little girl smell. I adore it! Conclusion I will definitely need at least a bottle of this. I want it in lotion, shower gel, and body spray. I want to bath in it - I imagine that if I did, I would be followed by a trail of pixies, spreading glitter everywhere. OK, clearly I need to get some sleep 9/10

    Leo 2007

Fixed Fire: the essence of pride. Egyptian amber, walnut bark, chamomile, frankincense, and saffron. Tested and reviewed on 11/13/07 I would define this scent as orange - not just the flavor/scent of citrus orange, but it evokes in me a golden orange feeling of summer. In the bottle Sweet honey orange amber Wet on skin The chamomile comes out to soften the mouthwatering citrus. Dry on skin The complexity in this grows, so that I can feel the warmth of the saffron and franckincense. It reminded me of trips to the beach in high school, not the oceans, waves, sand and surf, but the smell of shopping at the beach. Not being a Leo, and not knowing many, this is still what I think of when I think of Leo. In bottle is a young Leo child, playful and fearless. As the smell grows, and as a Leo grows, they start being more and more complex, but still proud and bold. Good throw on me, and pretty long lasting. I love it! Almost makes this Scorpio want to be a Leo. Almost. But I might be interested in another bottle. (9/10)

    Scorpio 2007

tested and reviewed 11/12/07 I will heartily admit that I purchased this only because I am a proud Scorpio and indentify with anything having to do with the sign. Including this wonderful, orgasmic blend! As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew that I would need several bottles of this scent. In the bottle Deep, dark velvety resin with a crisp undertone of pine? herbs? Take another whiff - sweet then bitter, but not bittersweet, if that makes any sense. Wet on skin Smoky - but not in a way that smells like smoke. Hazy blend of warm fragrances with no note dominating, but all blending nicely. Threatens to start smelling like "hippie" with a scent reminiscent of patchouli, which I can barely tolerate, but it subsides and develops into a painfully beautiful kiss of incense. Dry Deep musky, dark and solemn on my skin. Stunning. This blend has staying power - I can put it on in the morning and smell wafts of it throughout the day. I have to be really careful not to overdo it - a little goes a long way and a lot increases the chances of smelling like a head shop - which is fine if that is what you want. Conclusion This scent reminds me of everthing that I know about Scorpio personalities: Intense/Dominant - not at all coy or subtle Passionate - this is a sexy smell, oozing sensuality - the Scorpio IS ruled by the genitals, you know Dualistic - either you love it or you hate it (or rather, the Scorpio loves you or hates you) there is little in between Interested in the Occult - with the hint of incense and smoky resins, you can imagine yourself getting your tarot cards read to you in a dim room by a toothless old woman (OK, so that is not particularly sexy, but definitely mysterious) Mysterious/secretive - keeps you guessing - what is THAT smell? What is coming next? 10/10 for me. I have 2 bottles and definitely want to hoard some more! This scent was so perfect for Scorpio, I am committed to getting each Sun Sign oil - I have a few and love them all so far!

    F5

In the bottle F5 is the definition of clean and crisp smelling. I can't really differentiate any notes - just adjectives come to mind - sunny, breezy, aquatic, crisp sheets and sunlight with french doors open to a sunny overlook of the Pacific Ocean - with clothes drying on the line. Northern California or Oregon in summer. Wet on skin Smells precisely like Irish Spring without any associated false soapy smell. Like, what a bathroom smells like after someone has taken a long shower using Irish Spring. OR sundried laundry - but not the FAKE bottled detergent smell of fresh linen, etc. but what clothes REALLY smell like after drying on the line in the early summer sun. Dry Still fresh. I got no musk, mint or aloe and just a touch of green tea. Mostly the verbana and seaspray, with a little lime. Conclusion While the smell is lovely, I do not think it is one for me. I might break it out when I simply want to smell clean all day long. This would be a great product to use to freshen a room or linens I think. For general usage/likeability of scent: 8/10 For personal usage: 6/10

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

In the bottle bubble gum/cotton candy and white wine. actually, it kind of smells like wine cooler. Bartles & James fruit punch, the kind that you snuck into gatorade bottles, or fruit juice bottles before going to high school football games so nobody would know you and your friends were drinking ( oh, was I the only one that did that ? ) Delicious to smell, and dangerously sweet to drink as a teen, but not appealling as a "grown-up" (whatever that means). Wet on skin More complex. Sugary smells fades and light apple blossom comes out. Fresh and light smell. I do not get much fruit - surprisingly since it was so strong in bottle and for others. Dry on skin: Quiet whisper of sweetness. Slight dash of the white pepper. Very light and airy. I love how this smelled on me, even though in the bottle I feared it! Luckily, I bought a half bottle (I love the art on the bottles!) because unfortunately, fades way too fast on me to buy another bottle. Final Grade: B. Loved the smell, and think my body chemistry interacted well, but it also just soaked it all up. I might try to layer this over a stronger single note, but I do not think I will be in the market for another bottle (although, for the right price/swap, I might consider it)

    Dragon's Musk

I am not really sure what Dragon's Blood is supposed to smell like, but in the bottle Dragon's Musk is spicy and fiery, which makes sense. Wet on the skin, it is a bit strong and aggressive for me - a little definitely goes a long way. For some reason, I get an undertone of patchouli, even thought it is not listed as a note in the description. I feel like Dragon's Musk is wafting around me in a warm, fragrant cloud. As it dries down, it softens and the musks become more prominent. I wore this on an evening out and felt like it gave me an air of confidence and sexiness. Not sure if this merits a bottle for me, given the multitude of choices, but I am definitely glad I have an imp to use when I need a little boost in my confidence.

    Bewitched

In the bottle - green - like moss and English Ivy, grass and sunlight. Interestingly enough, I get NO berries. Wet on skin - still green, more sage-y though Dry - the berry makes its appearence - subtley at first, then gets stronger, but not too sweet. Simply fresh and unadulterated, like smelling berries on the bush, not in a cake/candy/sweets form. Overall, this would be a super fresh late spring early summer smell. The throw is good, even though the scent is light and airy. Damn it! This went from being OK to being incredible, and now I have to add it to my bottle wishlist. Crap.

    Count Dracula

In the bottle: all I smell is tobacco and ginger - this one definitely has bite! The ginger does have some heat to it to me. Wet on skin: wood comes out a little more, and the bitter clove lives up to its name. As it dries: the spices blend a little more, each note developing until it becomes harder to tell them apart. But there is still a smokiness behind it. No patchouli is noticeable to me - which is good because I cannot usually wear it. Dry: This is the sexiest thing I have worn, moreso than any of the Love Potions I have tried. This is like, rip your clothes off and ravage me sexy. While, yes, I do think that this would be spectacular on the right guy, I was surprised at how incredibly sultry and feminine this smelled on me. Husband got one whiff of it and whispered, "wow, you smell good" with a familiar twinkle in his eye. I will definitely be using this bottle up and searching for more. Throw was good, but it did not last as long on me as it has on others :-(

    Endymion

In a daring mood - and in a hurry - this morning, I pulled the first imp I could get my hands on out of my imp box and slathered some oil on. I figured, very few things have not worked for me so far. At first, the scent was sweet - I did not realize it was pear, but I can see that now. It smelled lovely, at first. As I was driving to work, and the oil was drying, the sweet, musky smell on my wrists that I was up in the air about turned into the cloyingly floral smell of cheap laundry detergent. It was as if I had spilled an entire bottle of laundry detergent on me. Not a repugnant smell - at least people would think I was clean :-) The floral notes in this completely overpowered the fruit, and the musk - which is usually the most prominent note in any scent on me. Maybe I will give this another try on another day - but so far, this is a swapper.

    Jailbait

I absolutely loved Jailbait - not thinking I would at all. It is fresh and giggly. I did not get pink bubblegum from the imp, I got a string whiff of Juicy Fruit. And yes, it took me back 15 years or so. Wet - Juicy Fruit Drying - More scents popping out, some cherry, some citrus. Mouthwatering and yummy, but not really foody. Dry - soft and sensual, light and airy like a first kiss. I can understand why it is called Jailbait, since it is so sweet and seductive, but for me it mellows into a much more innocent and flirtatious smell. Really, it reminded of what it feels like the first time you have a young crush - falling for a boy a few years older. He finally calls and you go on that first date. You kiss and you are walking on air. This would be an INCREDIBLE summer smell on me - worth many bottles - if my skin did not just devour it. Within 20 minutes, it is just a whisper (much like one's first true love...lol)

    Fae

Most light smells either get soaked up in my skin right away, or "turn" on me somehow. Fae was gorgeous. In the bottle, it smelled like a sweet wine. Crisp and bubbly and golden - a little peach, maybe nectarine. Wet - white musk/fruit. Dry - simply sparkling. Gold and green, like other posters have said. A great spring/summer scent. Definitely enjoyed - might be up for a big bottle. I have noticed that any scent that has ANY musk in it, the musk pops out right away. I love musk, and normally I would not mind, but it overpowers the other smells so that they do not stick around as long as I would like :-( 4.5/5

    The Death of Autumn

I tried this on without reading many reviews, and my experience was similar to so many of them.... When I opened the bottle, all I could think of was "ummm, this is so NOT going to work." The first scent that I almost choked on when opening the bottle. Someone previously said it smelled like dirty flower water. Absolutely. The kind left over when the flowers have been dead a week, you have been on vacation and forgot to empty the vase before you left. Wet on skin: Pure smoke and bitter dead leaves. More palatable, but still not something I want to smell like. Drying: All the different scents and tones revolve in and out. It reminds me of the smell of trash burning at my grandmother's little house in the Poconos in the middle/end of fall. Smells come and go - bitter, savory, sweet then bitter again. How is it possible for something to change smells so often? Dry: (after 5 minutes) beautiful. mulled cider with cloves. playing outside in the fall leaves while the grownups cook Thanksgiving dinner. much gentler a smell. subtle. The only drawback to TDOA is that the end result is so gentle and soft, if you want others to enjoy, you would have to put a bunch on and go away for 5-10 minutes while it calmed down. I would be afraid to use so much because the wet/drying stage is so overwhelmingly pungent.

    Sugar Skull

I had to get the nerve to try this on my skin - the sugar smell from the bottle was so strong. I thought it was like smelling vanilla extract straight from the bottle. My husband said - yummy - when he smelled it out of the bottle. I was not so sure. Of course, I accidentally got the oil on the tip of my nose last night, so all i smelled was warm sugar for hours - not so bad. Tried it this morning on the skin. It goes from burnt sugar to warm sugar to maple syrup on my skin. I never got any spices. It reminded me of early spring in New England when the maple syrup is being made and you can go to Sugar Shacks and get brand new freshly tapped maple syrup. The process makes the whole house smell like this oil. A great smell, just not for me to wear - it would make a great house smell. DH loves the smell on me. Can't stop sniffing. Daughter likes it too.

    Crow Moon

I received a sniffie/testie imp with an Ebay order today, and I thought, at first, that it was Murder of Crows. Regardless, I was intrigued. Put it on right after a shower. I can only think to describe Crow Moon like this: It is one of those late night talks with someone you love, or used to love, or want to love. You and he (or she) go for a late night walk through the woods on cold dark February night at 2am. Snow that fell 2 days ago is still on the ground, but is crunchy and almost all melted in little piles around the roots of trees. He lights a cigarette and the smell of the acrid smoke cuts through the freshness of the night. Sharp but not unpleasant. You keep talking and walking. There is crying, there are hurt feelings. After a few hours, and a roller coaster of emotions, you realize this is not going to work out. But, it is OK. The sun is coming up, and it is getting warmer. You and he have worked through a lot, and are better, as friends, for it. But, you are exhausted, your head is spinning and aches from the long, emotionally fatiguing night. You continue to walk, home? to, and you see some flowers budding through where there had been snow just hours earlier. In less Emo terms, I got a string, sharp whiff of smoke when I opened the imp. Dark Green and Muddy Browns. Definitely ozone and mint of a cold night. Foresty. Wet: Herby, woody Dry - same as above, but after 20 minutes, the soft musk creeps in (finally) very nice, very soft. Earlier, this was described as "aloof" - absolutely. Haunting and sad, but with hope. While I would not have thought I would have liked this - it smelled delicious on me. Not a scent I would wear often, or need a bottle of, but it was awesome to get to try it. It does smell like an (expensive) perfume that I know, but cannot put my finger on.

    Fire Pig

Disclaimer - I do not usually like fruity, sweet smells AT ALL. HOWEVER, I love Fire Pig. Even hours after application, smelling my wrists makes my mouth water. It is sweet and tart. Just smelling it from the bottle enhances one's mood - you simply CANNOT be grumpy if you smell this. I am happy go Lucky. Better than Prozac. The smell right out of the bottle is ripe, luscious fresh summer fruit. Wet on skin, it turns more floral. I usually do not agree with florals but this is a soft sensual floral - it was described as tropical and I would agree with that. I also got a brief, lovely waft of candy necklace. Drying, it softens and turns warm and soft instead of so bright. Makes my heart race. Even if the brightness and loudness scares you out of the bottle, you should give Fire Pig a try!
