imp: hmmm...? vetiver? that's not listed in the notes... wet: this smells like a light, smoky vetiver over dusty fruits. dry: okay... now it's smelling more like amber or myrrh with fruit rather than smoky and ashy. unusual.
-
imp: myrrh and musk. sexy. wet: damn, here comes the rose to ruin it all... it's a rosy myrrh scent, not bad but not great on me. dry: not too bad once dry though the rose does go very powdery rather than soapy for once. it is still quite heavy on the myrrh though.
-
imp: fresh lilac with sweet woods. this is remarkably light and pretty. wet: this is a very soft lilac scent on my once applied, the woods are light and pretty as well. very springy! dry: the lilac gets sweeter as it dries. this would be a very pretty first date perfume. it has a flirty feel to it.
-
bottle: pepper, ginger and jasmine. wet: unusual. the ginger and pepper are still in the foreground with the jasmine . however, there is a strong background of fruits. dry: very nice. the pepper and ginger over-power the jasmine by the time this is dry and the fruits provide a sweet background. lovely.
-
bottle: fruits! i get the same cherry scent i get from bloody mary with lots of tropical fruits and citrus. wet: guava, pineapple, peach, apple, orange... this is so sweet and pretty! dry: pineapple, guave, mango... this is utterly sweet and charming. a new love.
-
imp: a nice, sweet violet. wet: i'm getting the rich sweetness of the vanilla, the prickliness of gardenia (it always feels prickly in my nose) and the syrupiness of violet. this mostly just smells like violet ice crem garnished with gardenias. dry: the gardenia is far more pronounced and along with the vanilla, the violet gets a little smothered. this is an incredibly beautiful perfume, i just don't think its quite right for me. i would love to sniff the person that it is right on though.
-
imp: rosemary and eucalyptus. wet: a hint of lavender with deluge of rosemary. dry: lavender. i'm gonna try wearing this one to bed tonight.
-
imp: i suppose i expected this to smell like lily... but it doesn't exactly... it's smells like a spicy, mysterious lily of night. wet: a wonderfully spicy floral. almost a tangy feeling to the scent. dry: this dries more tangy than soft, a nice tangy, spicy lily.
-
imp: sweet, flowery woods. this is far more delicate and pretty than i thought it would be. wet: mmmmm... cypress. this is a very soft, sweet cypress with a background swirl of florals. lovely. dry: this dries to a very soft, sweet cypress. very lovely if you like woods. i think i may get a bottle.
-
imp: vetiver. this is just like a vetiver single note to me. wet: this is a brutal patchouli scent, burnt by vetiver turned glorious by the blood orange. i never would have expected to want a bottle of this. dry: strong patchouli with just a hint of vetiver and a blazing streak of orange. bottle-worthy.
-
imp: let's see... i love pomegranate and i hate rose nd this smells just like a pomegranate rose. wet: the rose is overpowering my beloved pomegranate. i smell like guest soap. dry: soapy, awful rose. will rose never love me?!
-
imp: sort of a cinnamony/apply/honey/herbal scent. wet: this smells like a cinnamon apple incense once applied. dry: this is a soft cidery scent once dry. an apple scent that i didn't know about! looks like a few bottles are in my future!
-
imp: yep, bubblegum and lollipops. i'll be getting a few bottles of this one. wet: sweet red cherry lollipops. i swear this smells so exactly like the real thing it's like someone is sitting right next to me sucking on one. dry: cherry lollipops. i'm absolutely getting at least two bottles of this with my next order.
-
bottle: a very sharp sweetness. wet: there's the candied charcoal scent, it's quite unusual. i get violets and a dusty charcoal scent. it's pretty in a sad sort of way. dry: this dries to a faint, sweet violet. this is only the second violet scent that has ever worked on me and i couldn't be more pleased. now, to swap for a back-up bottle!
-
bottle: a very brown sugary amber and honey scent. this is sweet and rich and warm. wet: oh wow! the pomegranate and fig added into the brown sugar scent make this absolutely swoon-worthy. why did i wait so long to buy a bottle? now i'll have to swap for a back-up! dry: this dries warm and rich, like a yummy fruit pastry of some sort. definitely a new favourite.

BPAL for headaches, pain, colds, seizures, sickness, illnesses...
hkhm replied to Tesseljoan's topic in Recommendations
i also get car sick and awful lot. i do take ginger tea to help me through the worst of it but the scent of strong mint (usually peppermint) helps me as well. i use grr for this purpose (it's also great for it's intended purpose of headache relief). -
imp: a swish of violet and lavender. no wonder the first thing i thought when i sniffed it was: "mmmmm... purple..." wet: the vetiver is, for once, behaving. the violet is a hint, the lavender is a breeze, the vetiver is an accent while the musk ties everything together. my husband has informed me that he will be using the imp next. dry: the lavender is the topnote once dry but there is still a lingering touch of violet and vetiver. off to the husband's imp pile it goes!
-
imp: this is the scent of my most favourite scratch-n-sniff sticker when i was little. (*adds bottle or two to basket*) this is a creamy, nutty patchouli. the sticker was of a trick-or-treating skeleton. wet: (*eyes roll back in head*) yep. this is such a memory jolt i must buy a bottle asap. creamy coconut over gritty patchouli. dry: this is a very deep, dark patchouli, the coconut is much more a hint once dry.
-
imp: leather. almost a smoky sort of leather. this will be okay on me, but fantastic on my husband. wet: a more smoky leather. this puts me in mind of cowboys sitting around a campfire. dry: a touch less smoky once dry, still very leathery. my husband has laid claim to the imp now that i'm done reviewing it.
-
bottle: icy, green night. this really smells like a startlingly cold night in the woods. not quite as piney as the snow storm, more snowy. wet: more piney once applied. this is a very deep green, chilly scent. dry: this dries very similar to the snow storm but where the snow storm is more sharp, this is more smooth... like untouched snow between ancient pines with air so cold it hurts to even breathe. this is still and quiet as opposed to the flurries evoked by the snow storm.
-
bottle: very light florals. i'm not even getting a hint of anise, myrrh or pomegranate. wet: ahhhh... wisteria! it's a lovely, soft floral with a suggestion of spiciness well-hidden in the background. dry: this dries to a very interesting spicy scent with florals in the background. i'm happy that my sign has such a wonderful scent!
-
imp: lemon balm and lavender and... somethine else kinda herby, almost minty. wet: this has the smell of antique candy, like old fashioned lemon drops or something. i can't wait to wear this to bed. dry: tangy lemon drops.
-
imp: yup, violet and rose. wet: even without going soapy this smells like guest soap on me (it is turning soapy though). i like the violet in the background but the rose is just too soapy and overpowering to make this smell nice on me. too bad. dry: not as bad once dry, the violet is a bit stronger but the rose... alas, will i never find a rose scent to suit me?!
-
imp: super-sweet dragon's blood. i'm sure it's the honey or vanilla or both, but it doesn't really smell like either of those. just sweet. wet: now i'm getting some vanilla. this smells incredibly floral, lots of sweet gooey vanilla and dragon's blood. quite feminine. dry: this is amazing! very thick and creamy smelling, sweet and spicy. if i hadn't received this as a frimp i never would have tried it...
-
bottle: apples. definitely a cidery apple. wet: this is a mildly spicy, fruity apple scent. sweet and crisp. dry: sweet cidery fruit, the apple almost stands apart from the cider scent. this is autumn in a bottle.
