    How Doth the Little Crocodile

imp: yep, chocolate mint. this smells more realistic that the usual chocolate scents do to me. wet: oh well. the chocolate goes weird. sorts of a dusty, powdered chocolate-flavored drink mix scent. with mint. pretty much this smells just like bliss but with a smooth hit of mint. dry: i know this will be lovely on other people but it's a choco-cardboard disaster on my skin. glad i got to try it though, it smells great in the imp.

    Whoso List To Hunt

imp: bark. this is spot-on bark. it's brown and crumbly and... bark. wet: the moss and bark are so woodsy and beautiful, the musk makes this smooth and mysterious, the amber is bright. the rose is sweetening this a bit but it's also on the verge of going soapy. still, this is wonderfully evocative. dry: the rose does fade after a while and it leaves a very rich sweetness behind, it almost smells honeyed. this smells like overgrown, moist woods that have lots of towering oaks and mossy rocks. the amber and musk really tie this blend together well.

    Berry Moon 2009

bottle: raspberry musk and it is strong, strong, strong. wet: musk with berries. this is insanely strong. i knew i amp musk a bit but whoa! i would swear i've got some crumble baking... dry: yum. as this dries i get more and more fig with just a touch of the honey until this is a warm fig/raspberry cobbler cooling in the afternoon sun.

    Wolfsbane

imp: woodsy, green vetiver. wet: thick, resinous vetiver. this is not smoky as vetiver usually is, nor burnt. like a rich, syrupy vetiver. this is almost like a lighter version of horn of plenty. this may be bottle-worthy. dry: on the drydown this differes from horn of plenty in that it doesn't have that sticky-sweet, almost fruity, backnote but it is intensely similar in many other regards. this is all sublime, resiny goodness.

    Cherry blossom

i was going to suggest neo-tokyo, even though it's rare because it's just so perfect. i just sniffed it again the other day and it is beautiful.

    The Flower Girl

bottle: a jumble of florals, this smells very similar to a chaos theory blend i got except no jasmine. wet: there's a sharp greenery/grass scent above the florals that is quite strong initially but fades after a while. this has the feel of lovely blooms that have been drenched by rain. the flowers are not cloying, they are rich but not distinct enough to my nose to name. i'm not getting rose, though, as this has not turned soapy at all. dry: i'm not a big floral person, but when i get as much greenery as flowers i am very interested. the flowers here smell poisonous and wet and this scent lasts and lasts and lasts.

    The Confectionary

bottle: whoa! fruity cotton candy marshmallow overload! wet: this gets a creamy-ness once applied, it's still a slightly cherry-flavored-cotton-candy-covered-with-marshmallow scent but there's a vanilla frosting scent in the mix now too. dry: not exactly like beaver moon 2007, but there is a similarity. there is a thick creaminess underlying the sugar notes and a teensy fruity something that makes this smell very pink.

    After the rain has fallen

i second what ivyandpeony said: garden path with chickens gives me that exact feeling you describe.

The scent of a sexy vampire...

wow, really? my bottle of perversion is thick and rich and sexy, but it's a pretty old bottle.

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent

i totally forgot about agrat-bat-mahlat. it is such a creamy, sexy apple scent.

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent

yep, agapē definitely has a creamy apple scent. pumpkin patch #1 form 2006 is very bright apple on my skin as well, i get almost no hint of pumpkin. creepy is probably my favorite apple scent, followed by sugar-slathered candied apple, fearful pleasure and punkie night. shango is in my top three from the general catalog. hmmm... looking over my collection, i guess i have quite a few apple scents in my favorites.

The scent of a sexy vampire...

i would layer zombi and bordello for this effect. zombi has crushed rose in it which gives it a depth that graveyard dirt lacks. and bordello smells like a dark, sexy woman to me... even more so as it ages.

    Fire of Love

imp: this reminds me of the scent of my mother's ancient desk. that is to say: faded oak, rosewood and patchouli with long-faded potpourri and incense. wet: there is a dusty scent here but i can't put my finger on it. it's dry and faded and beautiful. this is a very evocative scent and is sending me into wonderful nostalgia. dry: this just gets drier and dustier and yet richer as it dries. strangely, this gives me wonderful childlike feelings of adventure and joy.

    Egle

imp: light piney aquatic. wet: this is very like a snow scent on my skin... the aquatic scent has turned snowy and with the pine has a cold feel to it. this reminds me of the snow storm a bit. dry: yep, i'll be needing a bottle of this one, this is a little brighter aquatic than snow but it's exactly the kind of aquatic i like. it's not overpowering but sweet and clean. that plus pine is lovely on me.

    Hairy Toad Lily

imp: sweet, green and woody. wet: this has a very fresh sweetness to it, a planty sweetness but there is also something sharp alongside it, also planty. dry: i think this might have a touch of rose because there is a tiny hint of soapiness behind the bright green planty scent.

    Shoggoth

imp: sweet, watery flowers. wet: the lemongrass jumps out pretty strongly, it's pretty much overpowering all the other scents at the moment. dry: the lemongrass just won't fade on me, it's not as strong as it was but it's still the thing i can smell most strongly. darn.

    Havana

imp: that sharp leather cologne scent. wet: a little woody, a little tobacco-y but the leather had vanished. dry: this is much nicer once dry, it's tobacco and woods notes are beautiful.

    Sybaris

imp: very strong violet and clove. wet: the violet is fresh and bright on my skin, the clove is just a hint in the background. dry: this is pretty equally split between violet and clove once dry, there is a nice, warm creaminess in the background which i suspect is the tonka.

    Intrigue

imp: dark, rich woods. wet: the wood notes here are very dark, almost dusty-dry, with a touch of something sweet (likely the fig, though it does not smell like it). dry: a very nice woodsy fig. this is still dark and rich and mysterious, just sweeter and earthier.

    Crossroads

imp: incense and dusty florals. wet: there is an initial scent of dirt but it's quickly overpowered by rose. where the rose in zombi is very dry and dessicated, this rose is far to in-my-face and fresh. dry: there is more moss and dirt as this dries but the rose is still very fresh and strong.

    Cathode

imp: moss and mint, brighter than it sounds and very clean smelling. wet: this is pretty much a tug-of-war between mint and moss. luckily, i love both notes and really like this scent so far. dry: this dries down to a bright, fresh moss scent and a minty feel in the background.

    Undertow

imp: yup, lotus, mint and juniper. wet: this is so pretty. it has a pine feel from the juniper but the scent is mostly lotus and mint on my skin. dry: this is quite bright on my skin, the mint and lotus stay strong and sweet throgh the drydown and the juniper stays piney-crisp in the background. i may be needing a bottle.

    Thalia

imp: very faint pear and plumeria. very soft. wet: this is almost entirely plumeria while it's wet, not bad, but i wanted more pear. dry: very nice, there's much more pear once this dries and it seems very equally pear and plumeria, the champagne is definitely in the background and not at all boozy.
  24. hkhm

    Dirty

imp: light, clean, softly floral, airy. wet: very slight citrus, clean rather than abrasive, still some light pretty florals. this really does smell clean. dry: this really does give the impression of clean laundry, the scent is so light just like laundry smells when it's just pulled off the line. probably not bottle-worthy (though time will tell) but i love it nonetheless.

    Banana Peel in a Graveyard

bottle: very strong dirt with a light hint of ripe banana in the background. wet: this almost smells like dirt and patchouli when applied, the sweet banana stays in the background. dry: the banana scent vanishes leaving this a dark, brooding dirt scent.
