    Yggdrasil

In the imp this is a very powerful scent. It's woodsy and piney and has a little sweentess underneath it all. On this turns into a very very minty Christmas tree scent. Like a pie slathered in a very sweet mint, and something almost berry-ish underneath it all. After a while it turns into an herbal soapy powder scent. It smells like the smudge sticks my mum used to have. It was nice, but a little strong and would give me a bit of a headache after too long.

    Thalia

Upon first sniff I can easily identify all three notes, and they blend together in an interesting combination. It's rather unusual, because I can't tell if I enjoy this scent or if I don't. Very intriguing. As I put it on it's still an interesting scent. None of the scents are particularly jumping out rather than blending nicely. Again, I'm not sure if I like it are not Ok, I've decided that it's not going to work for me. After a while the white champagne kind of takes front seat pushing the pear and plumeria to the back, which is sad because it definitely does not really appeal to me now. I think I would have enjoyed it if it had stayed how it started out on my skin with a nice exotic blend of everything

    Ulalume

In the imp I get almost a very slightly chlorine-y lake-ish scent. The aquatic note dominates, and I can't really smell too much else...Pretty light and high-pitched if a scent can be so. On it immediately turns darker. Like the scent of a stagnant forest pond after a rain shower. Rather nice. After a while, that lovely scent morphs into rotting wood and vegetation That makes me sad

    Slobbering Pine

Out of the imp it's delicious wet and sticky pine. I love it already! Rather sharp though. Now I just hope that my chemistry doesn't mess it up! It softens immediately on my skin and I get a lovely earthy smell as well. Like a pine forest after the rain. Absolutely gorgeous. Overall a gorgeous foresty scent! I love it so much! Soft, dewy and lovely! I'm definitely going to need this one in a bottle

    Venice

In the imp the lemon is completely predominant. Not in a bad way though, just kinda strong. Underneath I get a little something floral, and I think the sandalwood... On my skin the scents mix gorgeously. It's still mainly lemon though, but I really like it. Overall it's like a lemony potpourri, that's what I'm getting. Very clean and lively. Definitely a keeper, but probably as an imp only.

    Magdalene

In the imp the scent is sharp and icky *a very technical term, by the way* to my nose... Not at all what I was expecting. I think it's the labdanum, but it could be the orchid that is jumping out, and just really not agreeing with me.. On, whatever was jumping out on first sniff dies immediately on my skin, which is really good. It smells now kind of like a medicinal tonic... I can't get any roses which is sad... Nope, still no roses. Almost like a faint tobacco shampoo. I know that's crazy, but like a faint whiff of cigarette smoke bottled into a shampoo. Gives me a little bit of a headache as well. Definitely off to the swaps

    Zombi

In the imp I get the scent of freshly turned earth, leaves, and little hint of roses At first the dried roses are very prominent. I can tell it's the scent of dried roses as those smell different from fresh ones I definitely think this is a keeper Oh gosh I love it! I get the memory of roses over a long forgotten grave. Soft and gorgeous, and I'm so glad! As soon as I read the description I just *knew* that this was going to be a special one for me, and I'm really glad my instincts/body chemistry has not let me down on this one! It just evokes a really strong emotional reaction, cause for some reason it reminds me of my grandfather's grave. Very beautiful and sombre and I just love it so bad!

    Phantom Queen

Upon sniffing I think it's pretty. I get what I think is the moss and some of the apple blossom, but I could be completely wrong here A very very clean and crisp scent. I didn't really like how it was on me at first. As it softens, something akin to jasmine in my nose totally dominates, which is odd, cause jasmine isn't one of the notes in this one... It smells like my Gram. Not like in a bad, smelling like old, but more like her perfume/lotion. Not really bad, and kind of comforting, but I want a scent that is more me and not overshadowed with thoughts of my grandma. Although I think that it does say that she has great taste in scents

    Ave Maria Gratia Plena

The lemon peel pops out at me first in the imp, but underneath the sage is pretty prominent. At first it is rather faint and delicate. A very clean and floral scent Sadly, this turns into a soapy floral. A delicate but soapy floral. Definitely not for me.

    Szepasszony

At first sniff, this one is true to it's description. It is indeed chilly, thin and slashing and high airy notes. I'm getting a little apple and lemon in this as well. A very clean seeming scent. On it turns crazy sharp and a little fruity on me... Not too terribly thrilled with it... It softens pretty nicely, with a scent of rain. Nice and pretty, but probably not for me.

    The Death of Autumn

At first sniffle I get a lot of amber. It smells like a potion being brewed outside on an autumn night, with the smells mixing with the cool and crisp autumn air. Pretty nice At first it is pretty strong on me, and turns kinda icky, so I'm really hoping that it gets better, cause I REALLY want this one to work for me! Well, I didn't really like it on me at all, but it started softening out, and I keep catching whiffs of some underlying scent that I can't quite place that is absolutely gorgeous and is starting to make itself known. Soft, loverly and haunting on me! Definitely a keeper!
  12. FallDaze

    Nocturne

On first sniff, I get very very violet. Not quite catching any of the other notes... After a bit, the lilac comes out a bit under the violet, but the violet is still the dominating note. A little bit like shower gel... Either the tuberose or the blend of all the notes winds up giving me a headache.
  13. FallDaze

    Black Dahlia

In the imp, absolutely gorgeous! Smoky magnolias with an undercurrent of black amber. Delicious! On it's a gorgeous and smoky floral. The magnolia and jasmine totally dominate on my skin. We'll see how it goes... Overall, maybe a bit too much magnolia for me..it turns into a kinda heavy floral... It would be perfect if it were just a little bit softer on me...
  14. FallDaze

    Alice

In the imp, it smells pretty yummy! Some tangy scent that I just can't place and it's driving me crazy! After the tang has softened a bit, it's still there, but more of an underlying scent. I smell like a soapy baby! The carnation seems to have gone a bit icky on my skin. This has happened with scents containing carnation before. I guess carnation just doesn't work well on me...

    Darkness

On first sniff I get dark, deep, and smoky. What I'm guessing is the opium coming out to my nose. On my skin the myrrh starts coming out and blending with the opium, softening everything a little, still a really strong smoky smell though. After a while the softening continues, but it's still a bit too smoky and masculine for me, and it's developed a little bit of a clinical undertone to it Not really the scent I was hoping for. Damn you skin! Damn you!

    Wings of Azrael

This scent is a lot lighter than I expected. Not really bad, just lighter. In the imp, the juniper and cypress are the predominant scents. Not bad, but for some reason this combination always reminds me of Christmas trees. On my skin, the juniper dies down a bit and the lily really comes out to play. Which is a good thing, because I love the scent of lily, and apparently my skin does too. Like I said, a lot lighter than I had anticipated. After a while the lily blends with the violet for a slightly powdery scent, very light and comforting, with the juniper and cypress providing a slight undercurrent of destruction. Probably a keeper, but probably one I will only need an imp at a time of.

    House of Night

On first sniff, it's very green and sharp, and a little spicy. When I put it on, I get a scent like spicy syrup. Pretty, but it gets me thinking about pancakes, and the syrup is a little bit heavier than I would like. After a while, the spicy syrup scent stays the same, but with a greenish undertone. Pretty, but it gave me a little headache after a while.
  18. FallDaze

    Brisingamen

In the imp, the myrtle was pretty over whelming. I caught a slight whiff of spicy carnations underneath though. On, it turns a bit unappealing for me. Almost alcohol-y, but not quite. Not entirely what the note is that I'm picking up. I really don't think that the ambers work on me very well. After a while I get alcohol and carnations. I don't know what it is about me getting alcohol in scents. I guess it's just my unrefined nose Oh well, it is getting better I hope! Overall, not really a scent for me. Guess it's to the swaps for this one.

    Fire of Love

In the imp I got Herbs! Very strong and very herbal. A little hesitant about the herbs, but we'll see. On, the herbs kinda take a back seat and I get a little bit of a cleaning smell. Not totally bad, but not great either. After a while, the slight cleaning scent is gone, and I still get herbs, though the scent has sharpened somewhat. It reminds me of the smell of the herbs that my mum used to put in my orange juice when I was younger. I hated those suckers cause they tasted bad, so this is bringing up a not so good memory. The strong herbal scent never really goes away I guess this one is just not for me

    Black Forest

I had such high hopes for this and they were met with flying colors! In the imp, a sharp musky smell. I also caught a subtle hint of the pine and juniper mixed in there. When I put it on, the scent stayed pretty similar to the first sniffle. The juniper and pine became a bit more pronounced though. Still pretty sharp. I smell like a Christmas tree! Which is a very good thing, as I love the scent of them suckers! More like a forest of x-mas trees! On a cold, dark, winter night! The description for this was absolutely dead on for this one on me! Definitely a keeper in my book, but probably something I'll only wear in the fall and winter. Lucky for me those seasons are upon us!!

    Highwayman

Stand and deliver! Vetiver with gardenia, blood red rose, night-blooming jasmine, a dash of cinnamon and a faint hint of leather. VETIVER! That's all I got as soon as I opened the imp. This would be the first time for me smelling vetiver, and I have to say, it was a bit strong, and I'm not sure I'm totally loving it. As I put it on, it's still all vetiver. Not a single hint of the jasmine, rose or gardenia. I do agree that it seems to be a very masculine scent. After a while, still no pretty flowers Just vetiver, and I've decided that this strong, it's not really my cup o'tea. This was one of those that I was interested in trying, but a bit hesitant about ordering. I have to say I'm very glad that I got this a frimp in my first order instead of ordering it myself. I hope that doesn't make me bad

    Black Opal

In this imp, this smells a little like vanilla chap-stick to me. It made my nose all tingly, like, not in a bad way, just tingly. I pretty much knew this was not gonna work for me on the first sniff, but I wanted to give it a fair shot anyways. So after I put it on, I get a vanilla-coconut scented vaseline like scent. After a few minutes, the vaseline-tinged scent is gone, and I'm left with creamy vanilla coconuty smells. Not a bad or horrible scent at all, in fact, it really smells how I believe that black opals would smells! Kind of iridescent and creamy. Lovely, but I'm just not a fan of strong vanilla scents. Mixed with something, vanilla is fine, but not when I get it as a main sniffle.

    Dragon's Eye

Upon first sniff with was nice in the bottle. Pretty sharp. Not quite sure what I was smelling though As I put it on, it smelled like suntan lotion. Not really a bad, stinky thing, but then again, not really something I want my perfume oil to smell like on me. After a bit, the suntan scent faded, but all I get it a nice lilac. I guess my skin just kinda amped up the lilac and left everything else out It's a soft and subtle scent on me, not at all the piercing sent I was hoping for. Oh well. It's still very pretty, just maybe not for me.

    Bayou

So hailing from Louisiana, the Land o' Bayous, and having moved away and into Texas for the past several years, I was naturally quite eager to try this one! Upon first sniff, the scent was pretty sharp, and the aquatic note combined with the other notes hit me as something stuffy and I got a sickly floral underlying the aquatic. Almost like overripe bayou flowers. Well, since I've learned that usually what I don't like right off the bat from the imp usually turns out wonderful on my skin and vice versa, I decided not to be too discouraged. At first it went really floral on me. Still nice, but more something I would expect an aristocratic woman in Old New Orleans to be wearing rather than a bayou rat like myself After a while, it started to soften out quite nicely, and I get the swamp flower blooms and earthy scents over the aquatic note, and it's really quite beautiful on me. A teasing whiff of sitting outside at dusk after a long day, just relaxing, with the scent of the earth, blooms, and a faint scent of a swamp a little ways off. True to it's name and description, I've found that this scent makes me a little homesick , but then it also helps with my homesickness in bringing a little bit of it back. Scent is a very powerful sense, and this one brings back memories

    Midnight Kiss

At first, I almost didn't try this one, but I have to say that I'm really glad that I did! Upon first sniff, it was slightly berry-ish to my nose. I'm not too great at picking out individual notes yet though , so I'm not too sure what it was. Then I got a whiff of the cocoa, and it quite frankly just did not agree with my nose. I decided to give it a go anyways, seeing how everything I've tried so far has morphed for good or bad on skin contact, and it turned out wonderful! The sandalwood and patchouli *I'm guessing, but I think that's what they are* came out, and mixed beautifully with the cocoa, which had calmed down a bit. It left me with a really nice almost spicy and slightly incensey cocoa that I thought was a little strong, but is apparently rather subtle. This is not a scent I normally would have picked out to try for myself, but it turned out wonderfully!
