  1. HTF= Hard to find

    HG= Holy Grail

Tarted imps= Really old imps whose labels are handwritten and were tied on with black raspy twine.

Event Exclusive= Perfume(s) that are/were only sold at a specific event (ie Comic-Con, or Bats Day, etc..)

Retail Exclusive= A scent blended for a specific ®etailer, which is only available from them (ie Haute Macabre, Think Geek, etc..)

WC= Will Call, which is an event at a brick-and-mortar store that has bpals to test and buy.

WCWC or NEWC= West Coast Will Call (at Dark Dels) and New England Will Call (at Healthy Living) respectively.

Wandcap= a cap for your bottle that has a glass rod attached, and is used for easier application.

Also, "cobalt" bottles signify the scent is at the latest from 2008 ( it think?), since it was during that year the lab switched to the current amber bottles.

Amber and cobalt bottles were both used as far back as 2004. :)

  2. I am currently a CNA, I wear lighter, sweet, and/or fruity scents. I haven't had a complaint yet, I apply sparingly, and like calivianya, I apply it on my chest so I get the waft of fragrance but do not overwhelm my residents.

I save my heavy and earthy scents for days off, or when I get home from work. Some of my favorites for work are Poisoned Apple, Alice, Mad Hatter, Grog, and Dragon's Milk.

  3. Yay! Finally I have my hands on a decant of this. I love the hair gloss, it makes my hair really silky and manageable. This scent is lovely, gorgeous dry frankincense with a drop of spicy clove, it goes along great with perfume oils like Anne Bonny, Penitence, and Cathedral.

  4. I am wondering, would anyone be able to guess what year it was from by the label? :wub2:

I haven't been into BPAL long enough to know if there was any overlap between the use of the new and old style labels, but one of the blends I have, Severin, was disconned in '09 and has the new-style label, so I'd guess your Eat Me has to be at least two years old.

ETA: Your bottle can't be more than 6 years old, though, because the lab was still using Cobalt bottles then.

The amber bottles have been around since I started buying in 2004-2005, though they used to be rare to get one, especially on GC blends. Eat Me was released in 2006, it could be as old as that, I know I got amber bottles in 2006.

  5. At first this smells like October, which was bad, October and I did not get on, but then it shifts. It turns to a lovely vanilla/green scent. The vanilla is slightly sweet and a bit nutty, and there is a woodsy tone to the blend. The musk is very light to my nose. It also reminds me of the perfume that is in the Norway pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World.

  6. In the bottle I get sharp orange over a creamy butterscotch laced hot apple cider. I feared skin testing it, but, the orange burns off quickly leaving behind a creamy apple spice scent, with a hint of fruitiness from the orange.

  7. Dark smooth sandalwood, with light hints of incense and spice. Not overly smoky, and I smell no pine at all, which is good, as pine usually becomes pine cleaner on my skin. I was hoping it would be reminiscent of the original Hexennacht, but the sandalwood is too prominent for that. It is a lovely earthy scent though, very evocative of bonfires in a field, with cold woods surrounding them.

  8. Gorgeous.

A walk through the woods, deep, damp, and dark, leaves rustling underfoot. It is what I wanted Black Forest to smell like. It is similar to Samhain without the fruit and spice.

I just got back from a walk. It is definitely autumn in NY, and as I was walking I realized this blend captured the smell and feel perfectly. It is the scent of autumn in New England.

  9. In the bottle, vinegar.

Okay, do I really want to put something that smells like vinegar on? Of course, it is BPAL! :D

On, sweet and tart berries, a rich sweet honey musk, a very light hint of orange blossom. The fig is very light, it just lends a sugary sweetness to the blend.

  10. Earthy and sweet in the bottle, once on my skin I get the dreaded vanilla = burnt plastic note.

I had such high hopes, I love Garden Gnomes so much. I will let my decant age and settle a bit and see if it changes!
