  1. If you have ever had Lapsang Souchong tea, this smelled a lot like that in my hair--apparently I amped the smoky vanilla note, and it was a very smoky scent (the tea isn't present, just the smoky note from Lapsang) and then I get a little coffee and pumpkin. This was interesting to try but I don't know it seemed like actual pumpkin latte on me.

  2. This is a beautiful mixture of blueberry, which burns off quickly, and fresh greenery. It's sweet greenery, most likely the magnolia is what I'm smelling, and it's just overall a very fresh and sweetly beautiful green floral-ish scent with berry. And it's fairly strong on me too, as some of the others were pretty light and dissipated nearly immediately. I will likely get a whole bottle of this one.

  3. I love carnation. I love patchouli. This is a lovely carnation dominant scent on me. I don't really get much corn chip paws, but there is definitely something kind of warm and snuggly in with the carnation. Beautiful. I wasn't sure about this at first but I kept going back to it more and more. Will be picking up a full bottle.

  4. I've tried Coconut Vanilla Tiare, and that one was fairly strong on me and heavy on the tiare. This one is much, much lighter. Unfortunately, so much lighter that I put it on and minutes later it disappears :( It's more coconutty, which I love, but not strong enough for me.

  5. This one starts out smelling a lot like Strawberry Moon 2009 the perfume oil, but quickly the strawberry recedes on me and it's really mainly the vanilla sugar portion. It's nice, but it's not the strawberry blast I wanted it to be, and so I guess I'll use Enveloped in Silk for that :(

  6. I can't really figure out what this smells like yet. People above were saying red musk but it doesn't strike me like the Lab's red musk (I usually don't love it) and Smut, but it's not really Smutty to me. Nor is it like Formula 54, which is one of my favorites. It's just ... awesome. I keep catching little whiffs of it and thinking it smells really, really good. About the closest thing I can think of is an atmo spray called Thriambus that was "shiraz, clove cigarettes, tobacco, spilled absinthe, latex, vinyl, and artificial fog." The feel of the two is similar--the smoke/club/red smell. Anyway, if you like smelling like smoky musky mystery, this is for you.

  7. I really enjoyed the smell of this--I could smell the buttercream predominantly at first, but thankfully it burned away quickly (I don't do well with the slightly soured milk note the lab's cream usually turns to on me). After the buttercream fades, it's a beautiful smooth cinnamon, much like a craft store at Halloween or a fall-scented candle. But in a really good way! Sadly, my skin burns at the hint of cinnamon so I can't wear this; even in a scent locket, there was a red spot where my locket sat against my skin. Bummer.

  8. NEVAR
Black plum and opium poppy with violet leaf and petal, white musk, indigo incense smoke, olibanum, vetiver, and cacao.

I usually like scents with a lot of deep, dark notes, and I'm a fan of incense and plum. I picked this one up on the hopes that it would be in the Mme. Moriarty/Misfortune Teller v3/Snake Charmer family. It's not, really, so the plum here is really not dominant, at least on me. What I'm getting most of is violet and incense. In fact, what this most reminds me of is if I lit a stick of Japanese violet incense--not super smoky, a bit faint, but light and slightly sweet. Definitely in the same light vein as Pursue Rabbit, this one is a close to the skin kind of scent. I don't smell much vetiver at all and I can usually pick it out if it's too heavy.

This scent visually reminds me of a light purple smoke. Very pretty and not what I was expecting at all.

If you liked the Convergence scent B340, with its violet notes, you will probably like this. They are very similar.

  9. Inspired by one of Gail Potocki's extraordinary interpretations of the Cheshire Cat, and created exclusively for Century Guild! An enigmatic blend of vanilla-infused sandalwood with wild black tobacco, white tea leaf, matcha, white musk, orange blossom, pale incense, and opium tar.

I tend to go for things with opium tar, sandalwood, and orange blossom, so this sounded right up my alley when I first saw it! I just got my bottle today (along with some nice postcards from the Century Guild event/other companies with Fragmented Alice items like Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics). Of course I had to immediately slather some on and see!

My first impression, now that I'm looking at the notes, is a little odd: Lime! I'm smelling something citrusy, something that strikes me as lime.

I've let it settle for a few minutes and I'm still getting drifts of citrus and a sort of opium-smoke note underneath. This scent is medium to light throw on me, and when I describe it as smoky, it's more like when you light an incense stick in another room and you can now and then catch the scent on the breeze as it wafts in to other rooms. It's not heavy or overwhelming at all, just light and wafting occasionally like smoke.

It's a somewhat sweetish scent to me; maybe that's the vanilla and/or white musk. Everything seems well balanced here, with no notes overwhelming the others. This is really fantastic and if you're a fan of incense notes or light citrusy floral type notes, this would probably be up your alley. It reminds me of the prototype Butter Arsenic, but a lighter, sweeter, less heavy-handed one--it retains that delicious opium tar/smoke feel but here, unlike Butter Arsenic, it's just like smoke wafting past you and you grab impressions of it as it moves under your nose. Edited to say it also strikes me like Stormclouds over the Midway from Carnaval Diabolique: I think it's the incense and opium tar that makes them feel similar!

Now I wish I had more than one bottle as I know this one is a keeper and if and when it runs out, I'll be sad :(

  10. This was the one I was least expecting to work on me--in the past, the champagne and effervescent scents like Geek Goth, Champagne & ____, etc. have sadly fallen flat (no pun intended) on my skin.

But this one is just ever so slightly fizzy, not overly so. It's "clean" like others have said earlier: sweet, a slight bit soapy maybe? It reminds me of lathering up with a peach-scented shower gel, honestly. It's nice, with a medium throw. And yes, the labels are adorable. Thanks to my lovely pickup fairy for hooking me up with this!

  11. This didn't smell very lemony on me at first, but as it dries down it's becoming more and more like a citrusy floral. The floral is definitely there, and it occasionally walks close to that laundry detergent line, if you know what I mean--a floral that smells a little soapy? But mostly it stays sweet and in the background a bit, letting more of the lemon scent come to the forefront. This is a very gentle, light scent on me. I could see it being a good before-bed scent. I'm glad I picked it up.
