Not really. I emailed them again a couple of days ago and got a sugar-coated slap on the wrist for being IMPATIENT and poking them after a week of silence. However, I was told that PayPal exists to serve, *giggles*, and that my "very real" concerns would be passed on to the department that is responsible for such things as character limits. This was possibly three days ago. I'm just rushing out but will find the proper details in a bit. I noticed yesterday that the limit is still 300 characters, unfortunately. I suppose, in the meantime, all we can do is try and condense orders as much as possible, or send payment with something like "emailed order to follow" in the comments field, then email it through to the Lab. It's just so bloody messy doing it that way, but I can't think of an alternative since it's the only payment option we have for now.

You may have a point. I think they did misread my original email to them because I did tell them that I put the entire order through, paid, and THEN noticed the problem. Anyway I did what they suggested even though I knew it probably wouldn't do a bit of good, and I've now sent them this email in reply: Here's hoping they get it now. *crosses fingers*

Okay. I find this difficult to fully accept since it seems several of us have had the same problem, but this is the reply I just got from PayPal. I've just copy/pasted it and removed my name so it's word for word. Like I say, I find it odd that this problem should strike so many of us at the same time, but I'll give it a go and see.

I'd actually put my order through before I realised what was happening. I make my order out in advance and just copy/paste it, and I was suffering from early morning syndrome so didn't check properly until too late. I had to email the lab with a copy of what had just been paid for since, of course, the money went through but the lab would have no idea just what I'd paid for. I also emailed PayPal and told them of the difficulties a drastically reduced character capacity in the comments field would cause to a lot of people spending a lot of money and asked them for an explanation. I haven't heard back from either yet, but it can take a couple of days for that, I know.

I've emailed BPAL confirming the details of my order. I didn't realise there was a problem with PayPal until I finished the transaction because I tend to write out my orders in advance, then just add the names of the Lunacy oils and copy/paste the whole thing into the PayPal comments field. I've also emailed PayPal asking them for clarification/explanation as to why they've reduced the comment characters capacity limit so very drastically. I haven't heard from either yet, but I'll let you know! Well... all I need from BPAL is confirmation that my order hasn't vanished totally into the ether so that's not such a biggie, but this is really going to cause hassle with big orders if PayPal are keeping it this way. Booo.

I noticed that, too! I could barely get an order for 3 bottles and an imp pack in there, which is a rather small order, really. I think it is permanent. Let us know what the Lab says. It may be that, in the future, we have to email the Lab our order details and then send the money through PayPal (which is such a pain in the ass for the Lab!). Will do! It does look permanent, but it's ridiculous. It can't just be BPAL and BPTP who process their international orders via PayPal. Like you say, it'd be a major headache for them. Rarrr!

I noticed today that PayPal seem to have drastically reduced the comment box character capacity to the extent that NONE of my order actually went through - although the payment did. I've emailed BPAL with the missing details (this is a $500 order, so it did need a fair bit of space), but if this is a new permanent thing with PayPal I'm a little concerned about how it bodes for future orders. Does anyone know any more about it?

Mine usually takes around five days to a week (to Liverpool), but I have heard of them taking longer - plus we've had a bank holiday so that's a day to add on, too. I'd say 12 days is a long time *consoles*, but not over-long.

I think they changed it because the postage prices went up, d00d. When I first ordered an imp pack, it was one item, but I'm pretty sure it's now two, and if that's what the website is saying, I'd go with that.Yeah, according to the Lab site, 2 imp packs are 1 item, which means you're covered up to 24 imp packs at the base shipping rate. This was confirmed to me by Bill when I was making my first ever Lab order last August and I'm sure nothing's changed since then. In an email exchange regarding an international shipping cost request about an order I placed recently, Bill the Customer Service Deity advised me that if I was not sure about whether or not an order would exceed the item limit, it is indeed permissible to place the order with the base $13 international shipping amount included, in addition to sending a customer service email to ask about actual shipping cost, especially if items included in the order are LEs that will be taken down in short order (i.e., Lunacy blends or any other LEs that are nearing their availability end-date). That way, the order gets submitted before the availability deadline passes, and if additional shipping costs are required, you can send them along in a supplementary payment after the Lab has gotten back to you about postage specifics.The direct quote from my email exchange with Bill is as follows: With regard to carrying out that suggestion, I have a couple thoughts -- mind you, the next two suggestions included in this post are my own, not the Lab's, but seem to be a good exercise in common sense:1. Include the particulars of your order (PayPal transaction ID, etc.) in your shipping cost request message to customer service.2. Include some sort of brief note with your payment/order, indicating that you understand shipping costs may exceed the amount you've included in your payment, and that you've sent a request to the CS email address for further info -- not necessarily anything fancy, something along the lines of "I've emailed for a shipping cost quote, please contact me if additional funds are necessary".Thanks a lot for that, hon. Ahhhhh... this is lovely, rich, dark soil. There's no dust to this dirt at all. It's the sort my dad loves to dig his hands in. I don't know how Beth makes up the Lab's earth/dust/dirt notes, but they're so wonderfully... RIGHT. Even if the smell itself doesn't appeal to me, it's still so perfectly evocative of the scent. THIS! Is wonderful. On my skin and right through dry-down (which is lengthy but I'm not complaining), all I get is the soil. There are VERY faint and occasional hints of background florals, but everything is so overpowered. It's not a bad thing. It's not a bad thing at all. Once dry, the florals do come a little more to the fore. No rose though. (Sorry, yeahbutnobut, I am trying to find roses, I swear). They complement the soil wonderfully. In spite of the gruesome little poem that accompanies this, this is NOT a mournful blend. It's not even remotely sad. I find it rather cheerful and it makes me want to regress to 9 months old and eat the soil from the plant pots all over again. ... not that I will, of course.

I'm sort of in a quandary over Dragon Moon. Not that I don't like it. QUITE the opposite. My main problems are: - There are so many wonderful ingredients in this blend and all I get are the lavender and peppermint with PERHAPS the teeniest hint of Dragon's Blood in the background. Now... this is a GORGEOUS scent, but I like a lot of the ingredients in it and I'd have liked to have got a few more of them with, perhaps, the final settled results being this. It's definitely beautiful - I can't stop sniffing my wrist. - It doesn't have a long wrist-life. This saddens me. It's FAR too lovely to fade so quickly. Perhaps it'll last longer at certain other times of the month. I do love it. I love it enough to get another bottle of it. And maybe, when it's aged a bit, the other ingredients will come through.

My query's similar to hadaverde's from a couple of months ago. Could somebody in the UK give me some shipping cost advice if ordering over 12 items? I'm looking to get moving on CD blends over the next few months, starting with this one. I HAVE emailed the lab a couple of times over the past week, but they're naturally up to their eyeballs with stuff so I don't want to poke at them any more. What I'm hoping to do is order CD sets over the coming months until they go away. I'm going to be able to get free orders on a couple of them, but not all and, for the most part, the sets are in quantities of 13+ bottles so they're just outside the $13 shipping rate. In a rambly way, what's the next price up and up to how many bottles from 13 will it cover me for? Thanks in advance!

Well, root beer's not so widespread over here, so I can't say it smells like that to me. However it does smell very very much like dandelion and burdock - and that's NEVER a bad thing so far as I'm concerned. It doesn't seem to have a madly long life, sadly - three hours tops - but this is just another justification for me to get a scent locket or four. I have NOTHING negative to say about this at all. It's lovely. Sweet and dark and just... lovely. This entire category is an utter delight.

Wow. Just... WOW! This reminds me SO much of Rose Red, It has a very similar edge to it in the "green" part of the blend. It's sweeter, but it's definitely a relation - perhaps a younger cousin. This is lovely. Fresh, natural, long-lasting and with a REALLY good throw. This entire category is leaving me incapable of much in the way of analysis. I'm completely blown away by them all.

Honey is not one of my favourite notes. It's a VERY risky one for me to try. But I saw the new Pharmacopoeias and had to have them ALL, unsniffed, as 5mls. Still, my beating heart! Besides, it had tea in it which has never failed me before, and wasabi which... well, I had NO preconceived notion how it would smell. It would seem that my faith has been reciprocated by this blend. In the bottle and wet on the skin, I confess I was a little crestfallen. Not because of the honey but because it was SO FAINT! BUT! It still wasn't going to let me down. As it dried... oh, my. The scent REALLY kicked in - and what a lovely blend. I can hardly get any honey at all, and what's there is blending beautifully with the tea and wasabi - which is a pretty damn good ingredient! It's lasting really well and, while the scent has died back very slightly, it's still MORE than satisfactor after four hours. I think this will last some time yet. I have a feeling the Pharmacopoeia and I will become very very VERY good friends indeed. What a superb category!

Oh squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Now, to explain. A few months ago I got sent an imp of Wilhelmina Murray. Then I got some more, and a bottle of it. Now ALL the imps after the first, and the bottle, smell nothing LIKE the first imp I got and although I do adore Wilhelmina Murray anyway, I was sad at not getting the same scent. THIS IS IT! Whoever did the decant of my first Wilhelmina got it mixed up with Asphodel. And I cannot TELL you how delighted I am to have ordered two bottles of this, even if it was only because of it being discontinued. This is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful, pure hyacinth scents I have EVER smelled in my life. I mean pure in a "virtuous" way, not a single note way (although there really isn't much else here at all). This does have something accompanying the floral. Possibly myrrh and/or ylang ylang. I'm thinking more myrrh, which would actually fit in with the background for the scent. Regardless, I LOVE it. I'm SO delighted to have found THAT scent which I never thought I'd get again, and I'll mourn its passing almost as much as I will my beloved Phantom.

Like you, I have acid perspiration. I don't wear metal watches either, my glasses need changing annually since I strip the colour from the metal, and silver and I react beautifully, turning each other glorious shades of black (it doesn't matter HOW high the silver content is, it still happens. I've gone through so much silver polish, ehehehe) Saying that, I haven't had the Play Doh problem, so I don't think it's down to the acid perspiration. Which is a GOOD thing! That means you can carry on testing and many many will work for you. I think, perhaps, you just amp almond like I am inclined to amp rose, cinnamon and patchouli. I also have fairly permanent and constant chronic urticaria all over my body for which I'm on twice-daily medication. This controls it somewhat, but doesn't keep it away completely. I can say though that NONE of the BPAL blends exacerbate it, so that must mean something since it takes next to nothing at all to cause an outbreak (it's not brought on by hayfever or any of the normal triggers - I just drew the short straw unfortunately). So yes. That. My advice - carry on regardless.

There are two star signs with which I have no association whatsoever. This is one of them. However, it's necessary to try these things, so I did. In the bottle this is a lovely light creamy floral. I don't get any of the ozone (but then ozone is still only something I THINK I get. The jury's still out on that for sure). The astrological blends have been a little hit and miss on me so this bodes REALLY well. Wet on the skin: Ooooooh... there's SOMETHING here that puts me in mind of Sagittarius - and that's SO not a good thing on me. I'd put it down to the dandelions in Sagittarius so that necessitated a rapid flight to the list of ingredients to see which was the one it shared with Aquarius. The search was fruitless. They have no ingredients in common. I'm THINKING it might be the anise interacting in an odd and not-good way with the myrrh maybe (since myrrh is normally one of my VERY good notes, this is alarming), but by the time I've looked all this up and realised it... the bad note has gone. I'm VERY relieved. Dry: Ahhhhhhh, that's MUCH better. In fact, that better than "better". That's very very good indeed. It's a very delicate scent on me (it actually didn't last until the 2-hour mark, sadly), but it's lovely while it's here. The wisteria is gorgeous, the myrrh is as wonderful as ever - which delights me to UNSPEAKABLE degrees. The anise has died back a lot. I can't comment on the galbanum since I'm still not fully sure what it smells like. Likewise with the bryony. But the pomegranate is definitely there - rich and juicy and utterly lovely. Oddly, and very faintly - but there's something that reminds me of coconut hiding in the background. I have NO idea what that can be. *sniffs again* But yes. Definitely the merest hint of coconut.

Eh. I don't know what all the fuss is about. ... ... I'm joking, of course. Although I SO wanted to have that reaction since I know there's no chance on EARTH I'll ever own a bottle of this. I must admit, wet in the vial it seemed pleasant enough but nothing special. Certainly not special enough to open a vein or pledge a firstborn for. Initially, my impression of "Ooooh very pleasant yes, but..." continued while it was on my skin. Then I got clove. Then I got the merest hint of vetiver. Then I got tobacco. Then I got... ooooh, I have NO idea but I kept getting more as it dried and now I can't stop sniffing at my hand. Damn. There's STILL no chance I'll ever be lucky enough to get a bottle of this for myself. Apparently though, I need to start with Velvet and see where to go from there. MAD thanks to Ahania for running her decant circle, otherwise I'd never even have got THIS close to this incredible blend.

I ordered a bottle of this on checking the description after it was announced as to be discontinued. I thought it sounded quite lovely but, if it didn't work on me, I'd have no trouble finding it a good home. I won't be looking to offload it. This... isn't one of my favourite blends, and I doubt I'll be getting a second bottle, but it will certainly get some wear. It's lovely, a real woody frankincense with a non-sweet floral playing around in the background. I imagine it will only improve with age. ... perhaps I will get a second bottle after all. It's a lovely daytime blend. Hmmm.

This is a scent that doesn't change at all. It smells exactly the same in the imp as it does on my skin. Dry is the same as wet and the only change I experience is as it gradually fades. That is FAR from being a bad thing. Lydia is the most glorious floral. Beth is a genius anyway, but her florals are truly amazing. This definitely has jasmine - but there are one or two others lurking in the background here. It has a really good throw in the early stages, but it does fade quickly and is all but gone in around three hours, which is a shame. I MIGHT try and find a bottle of this for myself, but I need to see just how much they're going for. It's lovely. (And yes, I also find myself singing "Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" with this - albeit in a Kermit the Frog voice)
