I don't understand the point of Haunt, truth be told. All this fuss over products that only like five people are able to get.

I like hemp. I do not like hemp when some idiot decides to store one of my giant balls of the stuff for the winter by wrapping the loose end in DUCT TAPE and then I have to cut off like 10 feet because it's covered in duct tape gunk and--ahem. Sorry. Flashbacks to unpacking inventory at camp. I like hemp jewelry, hemp soap, whatever. Good stuff.

What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours?

 

Any material is fine. Crossbody is preferable. I gravitate to bright and bold, and there is not a single fuck given about whether it goes with my outfit. My current purse is an absolute beast. Have I already talked about this purse? It's purple and has llamas on it.

I've read quite a lot of them, truthfully. And there are several more that I haven't read but own and am working toward reading.

 

I have just been enlightened to THESE. Are these flavors relevant to your interests?

 

Clove Cigarette, Dead Sexy and Rose Citrus are all very relevant to my interests. Also relevant to my interests: the Honey Blossom, Sweet Cream and Candied Violette bonbon lip balms.

Sooooo Witchees, have you ever taken that particular personality test? If so, are you an Analytical, a Driver, an Expressive or an Amiable?

 

I took it once and got Analytical, took it again and got Expressive. I'm ruthlessly organized and precise and nitpicky about things in the work environment, but I'm also very good at fixing people's personal problems and stuff. This summer, my boss would often be like, "...Go fix this for me" and I'd go and sort out problems for her.

 

Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside?

 

I am absolutely terrified by anything with more than eight legs. You know what I'm referring to. I had A Traumatic Experience with one of Those Things when I was a wee child, and I've never recovered.

 

...It fell into the bathtub with me. It had like fifty thousand legs and THEY CAN SWIM.

 

what level of contact were you hoping for?

 

I didn't really know what to expect. I wanted a witch who would contact me semi-regularly and just talk to me. I've got some things I'm dealing with right now that are kind of challenging, and getting the little ecards from my witch makes it easier to keep on trucking. I'm happy with my witch, though.

 

Are there any local museums/attractions you keep never getting around to going to?

 

I've never been to the NC Museum of Art. Or to Carowinds, for that matter.

Is there any kind of international candy you love or would like to try?

 

I had the most amazing candy from either Brazil or Colombia this summer--it was like these tiny little packages of super-silky caramel that one of the international staff brought. You bit off the corner and then could just suck the caramel out. Heavenly. I also adore Colombian coffee candies.

 

What is something totally random (yes, that thing that just popped into your head) that hasn't been covered by any previous questions?

 

I have fallen in love with Alexander Rybak. If you want to enlist an European nacho witch's help, Miss Witch, I would LOVE to receive him in my final gift. Not just his music--HIM. He's pretty. Make sure he comes with his violin, okay?

Get a tattoo. I had an appointment but chickened out. I was stressing about font choices and was also stressing about the cost. I am saving my money for a plane ticket, Miss Witch.

Mmmm. The white broccoli alfredo pizza from the Brew & View in Asheville--alfredo sauce, broccoli, onions, tomatoes. YUM. Or, if I'm eating meat, the Funky Chicken--barbecue sauce, red onion, bacon, chicken. AMAZING.

If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes?

 

Something for my Nook would be nice. I have a plain blue leather case for it right now. I'd love something with bold colors--literary quotes, perhaps, like maybe "To lose her heart" from "The Girl That Circumvented Fairyland In A Ship of Her Own Making". As far as design, it'd just need to be open on the bottom so I could plug in the charger cable, and open on top for the power button. And a pocket inside would be lovely. I have some hockey cards riding around in my Nook case right now.

Blues, purples, greens (any shade of those three, I love my cool colors), black/white/silver, pure shades of red/crimson/scarlet. I don't DISLIKE orange or yellow, but they have to be certain shades for me to go "Oooooooh" over--like, really warm peaches, corals, terra cottas, etc. Bold buttery yellows. I dislike the brownish-taupey colors. Blech.

If a shawl--something light and drapey. If a scarf, warm and thick. If using wool, please choose a blend with a little synthetic fiber mixed in so it's not quite as itchy. As far as colors go...my coat is a light ivory, so preferably bright and bold. I am fantasizing about bold reds these days because whenever I go yarn-shopping for myself I end up going berserk for the blues/greens/purples.

If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day.

 

Let's see...

Bath products: I use Wylde Ivy bar soaps (though right now I'm using some other random orchid-scented goat's milk bar soap). Herbal Essence shampoo (the blue coconuty kind) and conditioner (that AMAZING purple stuff for curl-taming). I mix up my own sugar scrub once a week on Fridays.

Face products: Burt's Bees's garden tomato soap and toner; Burt's Bees herbal blemish stick where applicable.

Tea: I favor Irish breakfast tea in the morning, that or a yummy chai.

Food: I go through gum and mints at a shameful rate.

Irish breakfast tea in the mornings.

It really depends on my mood. But when I am happy!Nikki, like really and truly happy, the song that best encapsulates my personality in that mode is BT - "Lullaby For Gaia". It has the same bubbly, effervescent quality.

Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts!

 

There's really not much I don't like with regards to trail mix and granola. I sincerely cannot think of anything. Well. I don't really like wasabi-flavored things. I was eating wasabi peas once and the wasabi was just something to be endured. I do like spicy things though.

 

Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever?

 

I love charm bracelets! It would really depend on what kind of charms were out there. I love my birth gem (pearl!), I love cats and books and music and microscopes and hockey and writing and birds (GEESE...and falcons) and water and camp and...yeah. It's not difficult to find things that I like. Shopping with me is an adventure.
