SW Help

Since I can't quite figure this whole blog thing out (like, how to make seperate entries for each day), I'm just going to keep editing this one post with all of the questions. Blogging for the blog challenged! Here are all my answers so far.   September 14th   Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? Absolutely not. I can probably sum it up in one word (me!) or 100+ words, but not 10 words that would have any description to them.   How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? I'm not really a drinker, though I don't tend to turn down mixed drinks--I just don't know enough about alcohol to be able to request anything.   What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) Love them both, any type. Bring it on.   Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? What it is? I just looked it up and I still have no clue what it is or what it would taste like.   Anything from the update ya'll are liking? BPTP UPDATE I like pretty much everything, especially the Snake Oil or Honey hair glosses. Candied Pumpkin sounds good, as does Fruitbat Fruitbath, Honey Pumpkin Stout (soap and bath oil), Marshmallow Pumpkin, and Sugary Spector. And Sugar Skull soap! But I think I'm passing on everything as far as decant circles go.   Does anyone like kimchi? No, no thank you. I don't really get along with any type of Asian food.   Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? Yes, please.   You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? No spending limits? I like the idea of trying everything, just for completeness' sake. That thought makes the obsessive in me very happy.   Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? I've never tried them before.   Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes I'm going to feel like the biggest stereotypical girly girl when I say this, but I don't do sports. I really just don't get it.   How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? I like it all. I'm horrible, though--I don't tend to actually use them except for work to keep my notes. I need to start writing again!   Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? Closer to the angry side--it gets everywhere and in everything and then I have to clean it up.   How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? They're okay. Nothing I particularly want (I'm more of a pillow girl myself, instead of stuffed animals).   how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Like these that I did? Totally cute, but I already have labels on my bottles.     September 13th   How would you feel about kitchen towels and other similar household objects, if they are pretty or a souvenir? Considering I'm moving soon, I'd love anything like that.   How did you dress up for your last party or compulsory-formal-dress occasion? I don't typically go to those things. It's kind of sad, actually...   Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) Nah.   Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? Love it! I have a minicollection of mugs already.       And the others, not sorted by date.   I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! For instance, I'm a little squicked by used clothing, but I don't mind any other used goods (i.e. books, glassware, games, DVDs, whatever.) I like the idea of thrifting, but I’m much too impatient of a person to do it myself, except in used book stores, if that counts. I’m not a huge fan of used clothing (except outerwear), but I’m fine with used scarfs, jewelry, books, games, DVDs, etc.   Do you have an Etsy shop? Do you know of any Etsy shops that are Switch Witch friendly? No etsy shop. I craft, so everyone keeps saying I should open on, but I haven’t so far.   Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? It would make me smile, but it would make two of my friends utterly squee, so I’m good with them.   What are your favorite types of Halloween candy? Halloween candy! I love Halloween candy. Anything really except red hots, but I particularly love caramels and candy corn.   How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I like chocolate any way that it comes—milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate. I like it with nuts, peanut butter, caramel, mint, dried fruit (but not the fruit cream, like in the Valentine’s boxes). It’s a slight obsession for me.   Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I make jewelry, so I use beads all the time. Yes, please. The only ones I don’t tend to use are lampwork beads.   Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! That sounds divine.   Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? I love scarfs. Unfortunatley, I live in the south, so I have no real need for scarfs, but I tend to wear them anyways. Solid, printed, it makes no difference for me. I really would love a light peach/pink scarf. I also like multicolored granny square scarfs. I prefer light ones since I live in the south. This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? If I can use them as a focal point for jewelry, fine. But if they’re too oddly shaped to be easily wire wrapped, they’re just clutter. Pretty clutter, but clutter nonetheless. What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? Actors: my newest actor crush is Benedict Cumberbatch. He’s good. Real good. And I kind of adore Zachary Levi, even though I’m sure he’s a fake nerd. He’s just too cute to hate. Authors: Megan Whalen Turner. She’s severely underrated. Music? Regina Spektor. are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? Uh, yes. The whole thing, especially Just Right and Discord. If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? No pets that I’ll have with me. I’m moving in the beginning of the month. The dog I have now is my dog, but she’s about 14 years old and she thinks she’s my dad’s dog. And he loves her to death and I’m afraid if I separate those two, she’ll die of a broken heart.   What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? I want more Sugar Skull room spray. I really, really do. It’s impossible to find, though. Same with Jonathan's Coffee House. And more Storyville. Yeah, I like impossible wishes!   Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? My wall is pretty blank right now and I love black and white or sepia photography of random buildings and places. Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) I can’t think of anything that I need that I don’t already have, but I’d love a mixed CD of songs that someone would think I’d like based off of my preferences in my questionnaire. I don’t care about format as long as it’s not a record.   Are you going away for any part of this round? Well, I’ll be moving into a new place on October 1st. I just need to decide which one it’ll be. Ack!   Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? Love it! If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? Why not? Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? I’m not really an outside person, but I do run on occasion when I get the time to do it. I work with children, so I do a lot of running around after them.   Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? Yes!   Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? They’re okay. I like going to any type of show, though.   Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? I’m not a huge fan of incense—I prefer room sprays and candles.   - Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? I’ve read the books but I’m way behind on the movies. I’m definitely Ravenclaw, though. Perhaps with a smattering of Hufflepuff. But mostly Ravenclaw.   - If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Lush, Villainess, Sephora, or amazon   Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? I’m a fan of Grimm’s fairytales and Greek mythology (I was practically obsessed with it in 6-7th grade, until I discovered Star Wars and let that take over). My personal favorite story is The Goose Girl..   If you could see anything, what would it be? Can be a person, an event, a landmark or monument, an object, etc. And it doesn't have to be on this planet, or in this time period, or in this reality! I’d really like to the Great Pyramid.   When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? Eat chocolate and popcorn and put in a movie. Usually Star Wars. If that doesn’t help, though, I choose Newsies—singing, dancing Christian Bale always cracks me up!   What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I’m cool with comics, but I prefer books. They left you use your imagination more. I’d love the try the Sandman comics, though. I’ve only read the first one.   Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? Nope. I did when I was younger and a lot of band teacher tell me I have a knack for keeping a beat. But I don’t have the discipline for an instrument.   Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? Yes! I love vintage and old looking scary decorations. I also like silly fun, cheesy decorations.   Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? Not particularly, though I love porcupines and peacocks.   Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? PC   What are you going to be for Halloween? I don’t tend to dress up for Halloween. I tend to do the chocolate, popcorn, and a scary movie with friends thing.   How do you feel about nick-knacks? They’re okay—I prefer my nick-knacks to be useful, though instead of true nick-knacks—candles, boxes, etc.   What are your favorite restaurants? Italian restaurants and sandwich shops   Do you play any video games? Not really, no. I don’t have the time, but I do have a few on my amazon wishlist.   Do you like any anime? I like what I've seen so far. I’ve only see Fullmetal Alchemist (and FMA: Brotherhood, both of which I LOVE!), Death Note, and Black Butler (which was eh, IMO). I’d love some recommendations to get into more.   Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? nope   how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? Like, over the moon excited. I love jewelry!   How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? Sure. I need to figure out how to cook (especially for just one person) and I already like to bake. Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I do need a box for my imps, but I have one for my bottles.   Muppets: yea or nay? I like the muppets fine and plan to see the new movie, but I’m not a huge fan or anything.   Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? Nah.   Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers? Yes. I just cut my hair into a short (for me, at least) bob and I’m looking for fun things to do with it.   Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? Nope, I’m more of a book book type of person.   If you have kids, would you be interested in getting things for them? And if so, what are they interested and what sizes are the wearing now? No kids yet!   Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I’m not picky about brands, but I’d love a grey polish that’s not too shimmery. Or a nonshimmery tan. For some reason, glittery/shimmery colors seem like spring/summer to me and matte colors seem like fall. I also like purples, pinks, reds, blues—anything, really.   What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? The Bow and Crown of Conquest. I don’t wear it often (thus not getting a bottle), but always think it’s amazing when I do wear it. Now I’m scared I’m going to find out that it’s already discontinued. I also love The Rose, but have Peacock Queen and Rose Red, so don’t feel the need to get a bottle, yet would hate if it left.

More SW ketchup

October 9th   Is there anything you would want from NYCC, something you'd like your witch to ask me to pick up? Wait, did I read that Mark Hamill is at NYCC? Luke Skywalker Mark Hamill? The Joker Mark Hamill? Fire Lord Ozai Mark Hamill? An autograph would make my life. Or just have them tell him he's awesome for me. And if you want to put Seth Green somewhere in my package (he's small, I'm sure he'd fit), that would be fun too. He's funny. Everyone else can keep James Marsters--I was all about Spike in seasons 2-5, but seasons 6 and 7 left me very, very bitter.   The best thing I ever ate...: my grandma's mac and cheese and chocolate chip cookies. I don't know what she did to those (and, considering she now has Alzheimer's, she doesn't know what she did to them), but they were both amazing.   October 6th   Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? Nope, not a licorice fan.   Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? Nope, sorry--I'm not an audiobook person. I have trouble listening to and focusing on things without other stimuli present.     October 5th   Are there any DIY / Crafty / Free / Budget items you'd love to get but haven't noted yet? (Or, maybe you'd just like to emphasize something you may have only noted in passing?) I’d love to get scrapbook paper with interesting textures or patterns. Now that I have a little bit of free time on my hands (or will, when I’m finished with the packing/unpacking part of moving), I plan on getting back into making collages. Same thing with beads—once I have more time, I plan on making more jewelry. My creative side has seriously lapsed since starting my board classes.   Do you own a DSLR camera? Are you interested in a minky camera strap like these? What about anything from Photojojo? Nope, not really a camera person. Is anybody else into film photography? Interested in receiving film, supplies, etc from Lomography? I can take a nice picture, but I’m not a huge photography person. Are you musically inclined? Do you play an instrument or sing? If so, what? Sadly, no. I’ve been told by band teachers that the raw talent is there as far as being able to keep a beat and understanding music goes, but I don’t have the inclination or discipline to do anything with it.   October 3rd   Does anyone else like collector Barbies? Nah, not really my thing. What small everyday items would you like, that you keep forgetting to get? Measuring cups. I guess I need to get a set before I move.   Tarot Not for me. Tell me about something you like, and why you like it. Reading. I can’t remember not reading in some way, which is funny because no one else in my family is a reader. But I love it—visiting other places, thinking other thoughts, getting trapped in someone else’s (fictional) life. It’s cliché and cheesy, but true. On top of that, there’s the pretty paper and fonts and the book smell. I like the book smell. Would any witchees be interested inQuinn Popcorn? That would either be amazingly awesome or not good. I love any kind of popcorn, though. I’d like to try the lemon and sea salt and the parmesan and rosemary. MMmmmm.   October 2nd   Who likes silly items from Archie McPhee??? Not really. They’re funny, but they just hang around collecting dust. Nocturne Alchemy's NAlloween Pt. 2 update is live here! (And for a few days, last month's update too.) What do you want? No thanks.   What are you drooling over from the Sock Dreams Halloween stuff? The candy corn socks are cute! But I’m really lusting after the Sock it to Me Koi Fish socks.   Luck charms? None. Does anyone want anything from... here...? Now why did you show me that? I want ALL THE THINGS! Everything. All of it. I don’t even know what Tiramisu is (I’ve heard of it and that’s it) and I want those marshmallows. Damn, now I want to go bake. For those of you that like candles, do you like stuff from Yankee Candle? And if you had to choose, tarts or candles? I like Yankee Candle. I prefer their foodie scents. If I had to choose, I guess candles. I don’t have a tart burner, but I’d get one if my witch wanted to send me tarts. Would you be interested in getting a custom necklace fromhere? All of that sure is pretty, but I doubt I’d ever wear it. It’s something I’d admire on someone else. Is there a movie you want so badly that you don’t own now? Labyrinth! I own it on VHS (yes, I still have a VHS player), but not DVD. I keep telling myself that I need to buy it, but don’t. Is there a song on Itunes that you haven’t downloaded yet? None that I can think of… Is there a rare book you’ve always wanted? There’s a version of the Thirteen Clocks that my library has that I’d love. It has beautiful illustrations. But I just searched amazon for that certain one and couldn’t find it. The one that I just wishlisted is pretty too. Is there anything you want to buy yourself but have been too embarrassed (R rated or pg)? Uuummmm….no? Have you seen the Lush holiday update? Do you like the look of anything from there? I’m behind on my Lush—when did they put out Halloween stuff, much less Christmas stuff? Cobwebs bath bomb sounds good. As does Magic Wand, Chilli Tingle lip tint (though that might be painful…), Celebrate lip tint, Golden Wonder, Rocketeer, Three Gold Rings, Superstars, and the Melting Snowman. I apparently need a Lush order soon! if you were my witchee, would you want some of my hot nuts my candied nuts my nuts covered in butter and brown sugar candied walnuts? Why, yes, I do want your nuts.     October 1st   Is there anything you either didn't like or had never heard of that you're now curious to try thanks to the discussion in this thread? Those damn chocolate bars. And now Quinn Popcorn and tootsie. Reveal? Yes, please, unless you really don’t want to. I’d hate for you to do something you don’t want to, but I’d like to have someone to thank personally.   Would you be interested in the #occupywallstreet scent? If the patchouli played nice, it would be wonderful and amazing. But sometimes the patchouli doesn’t play nice. Do Paintbox Soapworks' Goat's Milk Hand and Body Creams sound like something you'd like to try? I’m up for trying anything, really. September 30th   Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? Ooh, the Caramel Popcorn and Caramel Apple lust sounds good, as does the Golden Pumpkin, Burying Tree, and Coffee Fiend sugar polish.   Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? It sounds nice, but nothing I need a bottle of. You get a package in the mail containing 3 things you have really wanted more than anything else you've mentioned so far in this thread. (they are all reasonably priced of course! ~$20 or less apiece). What are they? 1) those DIY chocolates, 2) a Villianess smack, 3) a lost crate box (or whatever you would call it). That was cool. Crap, just looked it up. It’s not under 20. Let’s try that again. How about the Dead Sexy Lip balm. Or the Salted Caramel lip balm. how do you feel about hemp? jewelry, soap, etc? It’s not really my thing. Is there a magazine that you DON'T read because you can't find it near you, but wish you could? I’m not a huge fan of magazines anymore—too many ads, not enough content. Describe your sense of humour. Kind of sarcastic, kind of absurd, and kind of silly and punny. According to my test, I'm the Wit. My sense of humor is clean, complex, and dark. Sounds good. Do you like reusable grocery bags? If so, do you like the kind that fold up (ie Chico Bags?) Yes, but I use them to lug around all my toys for work. I'm about to make an order from Sephora (nothing off of my wishlist, witch, so don't worry about that). Is there anything for you that you would like to accompany my order, if you're my witchee? LORAC Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick - Iconic or Tarte Lip Service Limited-Edition LipSurgence™ Collection But those are expensive and very much not expected, witch. They’ll come home with me later...     September 29th   What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? I really have no preferences when it comes to purses, except I like to be able to put a paperback or a small notebook and my planner in them.   julep maven monthly boxes: Ooohh! I got an American Beauty. I can take it.   Like commercial socks? Barring neon colors, I like any type of sock.   What kind of bear is best? Sugar Bear, my old german shepard/lab mix dog. He died within days of my black lab, his best friend. It would be sad, but they were so old that we knew it had to come sometimes. But he was a very sweet puppy. Other than that, polar bears, because they're cute.   Is anyone interested in reading The Night Circus? It's been added to my library list.   Hershey's Pumpkin Spice kisses? No thanks.   I have a not-so-secret love for The Broship of the Rings. Are there any prints from her store you'd like? No thanks.   Who here likes Stephanie Pui-Min Law's artwork? It's okay.   Do you drink wine? I don't actively avoid it, but wine goes straight to my head and I'm not a huge fan of being tipsy. I'll drink it socially, but that's so rare that it happens maybe once or twice a year.   Is it just me who is nervous at revealing herself to her witchee, and finding out who her witch is?! A little. I want to be liked.   Witches, did you lament NOT getting one of the condom case/imp cases that got released with the courtesan series??? They're pretty, but not in my budget then. I don't regret it, but I wouldn't mind one.   I recently saw candy corn in non-candy corn flavors like CHOCOLATE and CARAMEL APPLE. It's not a fancy brand, I just saw it in the drugstore, but who here would like something like that? I prefer the pumpkin candy corns and original candy corn. Mmmm.   September 28th   JONES SODA CO has LE soda packs for The Guild, Buffy, D&D, So Cute, etc. Would you be interested in these, Witchee? No thanks. I don’t tend to drink coke (yes, I'm southern--everything's coke).   It'sBanned Books Week! Are there any books on the list you'd be interested in checking out? Don’t even get me started about the idea of banning books. But, strangely, none of these interest me.   I have just been enlightened to THESE. Are these flavors relevant to your interests?   Mmmm. Dead Sexy Lip sounds good, as does Salted Caramels.   September 27th   What is something people are always surprised to learn about you? That I’m a nerd. Not just someone who is academically inclined (most people tend to pick up on that quickly), but I like sci-fi, fantasy, horror books, and cult movies. Apparently, female nerds are supposed to dress all boy-ish or geek fetish-y, not like a girly girl.   So who else watched Babylon 5? I’ve been meaning to watch it, but never gotten around to it.   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? Going by the traditional way of doing it, Truffles Mikom. Boring.   Sooooo Witchees, have you ever taken that particular personality test? If so, are you an Analytical, a Driver, an Expressive or an Amiable? Apparently I’m a driver. Odd—I figured I’d get analytical (that’s the introverted thinker from the Myer-Briggs, which fits me to a tee). But I see it. I think the difference is that the test specifically said in a work situation. I’m extraverted there--I have no choice but to be, but introverted every other place. Years of training has determined that.   Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside?   Wooden dummies and porcelain dolls. Ugh. I’m fine with the porcelain dolls during day, but I don’t want to sleep in a room with them. Dopplegangers—not twins, but look alikes—freak me the hell out.   what level of contact were you hoping for? My witch is doing a fine job—life gets busy, so I don’t expect much.   Your favorite restaurant or type of food to eat out. Would you use a restaurant.com voucher? Groupon? I love Italian food. I’m moving the 18th, so I don’t know what I’ll be able to have access to when I do move off the top of my head.   Are there any local museums/attractions you keep never getting around to going to? Local? There’s nothing here for me to be attracted to. Hopefully, that’ll change once I move.   September 26th   Is there any kind of international candy you love or would like to try? I love Cadbury chocolates more than I should.   What is something totally random (yes, that thing that just popped into your head) that hasn't been covered by any previous questions? Nothing that I can think of right now…   Is there any cheesy/non-cheesy Canadian stuff you'd be interested in? Not that I can think of. Anything cheese is good, though.   If you were to go here and create your very own chocolate bar, what might it have in it?   Oh my god. Why did you show me that?! I’m now dying to trying something. Dying. Milk chocolate, pecan halves, and dried strawberries. That sounds amazing. So does white chocolate and lavender (though, maybe not). How about dark chocolate, sliced almonds, and white chocolate chips. Sounds like PMS dream food written all over it—either that, or something horrible.   say you stumbled into Camp Half Blood (or whatever the Roman camp ends up being named <bounces in anticipation>), which god claims you? Athena.   September 25th   Stuff you've been meaning to do: Organize my work’s training materials. Wow, I really am boring. But it’s all over the place in my drawers and it’s killing me.   Would you be interested in regional jams, jellies, or other preserves? Yes, to anything.   Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? I think the routine goes something like this: wash face, brush and floss, get in bed with a book and read a couple of chapters, then go to sleep. Sometimes, I replace the book with fanfic.   Are you interested in today's/any recent Tee Fury shirts? Cute, but I’d only wear it to sleep in.   Princess Bride? Yay or nay? Yay, of course. I think I’ve determined that people don’t dislike Princess Bride—it just depends on how much you like it.   What's your favorite classic fairytale, witches The Goose Girl.   September 24th   how do you feel about ethical animal fiber, i.e. wool and the like? I’m good with it.   What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel? It would just depend. So probably not.   Look down. What are you wearing, right now? A marigold skirt, a chambray shirt tucked in, brown belt, purple sandals and wood earrings.   Kerchiefs? No thanks.   It's the weekend, and you find yourself without a single chore or responsibility for a few hours. Right this very moment, what's the one thing you would do if you could do anything? Find a good book and curl up into it.     September 23rd   Is there anything you'd like from the Mütter Museum Store? Honestly, it all looks cool, but I especially like the conjoined Gingerbread cookie cutters and all the posters. I visited a friend from Philadelphia and tried to convince her to go there with me, but she wouldn’t. I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? I’ve never tried any Cocoa Pink, but I love to try anything. Apple Cinnamon Funnel Cake, Black Apple Noel, Black Marshmallow, Black Sugar Cake, and Cinderella’s Carriage all sound really good.   what's your favorite kind of pizza? I’m boring. Pepperoni. who are your style/fashion icons? Icons, as in people I wish I could dress like, but can’t? Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Cate Blanchett. People that I actually feel like I can dress similar to? Reese Witherspoon and Zooey Deschanel. Are there any food items you're craving/aren't able to find around your area? Yes, but I doubt you can help. The closest Macados, the sandwich shop/restaurant that I love is 2 hours away. No Macados for me.    September 22nd If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? I don’t really need one except something for my itouch. Ideally, it would be cute and functional—perhaps fake leather?—and have a nice design on it (queen anne’s lace, peacocks, swirls) yet have all the holes for my headphones and the plug. Would you like a photo collage based around your interests/favorite colors/favorite themes? Yes! I do things like this for myself, but I love to see what other people make! If you're crafty, are you interested in spoonfeather? And if so, what things there delight your eyes? I have no clue what spoonfeather is and a google search didn’t help. I feel hopelessly out of the loop.   Colors! What are your favorite colors and what colors do you not like? Pictures and links, people! Favorite colors? Blue, teal, purple, green, peacock green (and peacock blue), golden/marigold yellow, navy. Too many to count. I like jewel tone colors. My least favorite colors would be neon colors or pastel, washed out colors.   What is your favorite word? Idiosyncratic. Say it. I-di-o-syn-cra-tic. Isn’t that fun? What are the feelings on arm warmers? Color, style, texture, length? I don’t particularly like them. Do you like tarts? tealights? jar candles? votives? How about all of the above? I don’t have a tart burner, so I guess those are out. What's your favorite flavor? Sour, sweet, bitter, salty? Sweet! But when I have too much sweet, salty. When it’s that time of the month, both. So, are there any online gaming witchees who covet purchasable in-game items or other gamer-y stuff? (yup, geek question) I play the Sims 3, but I don’t know if you buy custom content for that or not. It just happened to come out while I was taking the classes for my board certification (on top of a 40-50 hour a week job), so I don’t—and haven’t—had a lot of time to play. I take my final board this Monday, so I see me playing it more often after that. Anyone doing anything cool for Mabon (or the start of fall, if you aren't pagan? Moving on the 18th? Does that count? No? Then, nothing I guess. What is your favorite coffee blend at Starbucks? If you don't have one, what is your favorite roast of coffee? I don’t drink coffee, but I love chai lattes.   September 21st   Cthulhu: yay or nay? Nay. I’ve actually never read Lovecraft. It saddens me. Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? Give up procrastinating.   Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? And if you did (or plan to), you should share what you're getting. Nope. I just ordered decants from a decant circle for what I wanted in the BPAL update. So you’re good to get anything from either of them. Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! Geodes, sure! I like any semiprecious stone. Just rocks, like go outside and find a rock? Nope. If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? I love scarfs! I live in the south, so light and drapey sounds perfect. No particular color preference. Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? Nah. I’d never use them. How do you feel about terrariums? They’re cute, but I kill anything that’s green. What's your favorite horror movie? Original Psycho. Or original Halloween. Or original Nightmare on Elm Street. Man, they need to quit remaking my favorites. Current movies? I really liked Black Swan, if you want to consider it horror. It was the right amount of over the top cheesiness and actual quality. If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. Lush’s Herbalism or Coalface. I also use either a Villianess Smack or Smooth every couple of days. Any lip balm--I'm constantly putting that on. Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? Nay. They say you’re either a Austen girl or a Bronte girl. I’m a Bronte girl. I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? I’ve often told myself that I need to put “All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was.” somewhere in my house to remind me to quit doing that. But I figure it’s kind of insane to put a rebuke for a fictional character somewhere near me just to remind myself to stop doing that. But it sure does fit. All you have to do is change it from he to she. Yeah, I'm a Luke Skywalker type. FML. Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? Yes! I pretty much like any period except the 70s-present. If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? HHmmm. I like some, but very little—I’ve read some Batman (but, wow, try to read all of those!), Fullmetal Alchemist, and Death Note. Mostly like either the characters or the plot. I’m not huge on the art work. If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? Marshmallow, Expresso, Chocolate Mousse, and Coconut Milk. if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? I’d probably either get a scent for Soul of the Rose by Waterhouse. I figure it would be a rather watery, “blue” rose. Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Yes! Tell me how to do it and I’ll try anything. What's 'your' song/your theme song? I feel so odd. I honestly don’t have one. When I was a teenager, it was “I am a Rock” by Simon and Garfunkel. Now, nothing, I don’t think. What would be your superpower? Teleportation, without a doubt. I constantly commute and that would make life so much easier. Of course, I also want telekinesis--mostly so I wouldn't have to get up to find the remote/phone/whatever electronic thing isn't within my reach. Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? It’s nothing that I’d buy for myself (my work is very specific about what we can and can’t wear, and tshirts with any sort of advertisement, slogan, or design is out), but I’d wear it happily around the house and to bed. Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! Sure. I’m not allergic to anything, but I don’t particularly like raisins or cranberries. The rest, I’m okay with enough to eat. I love anything that's chocolate. Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? I like charm bracelets and necklaces with charms. As far as charms go, I like queen anne’s lace, peacocks, owls, feathers, anything like that.     September 20   Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. I actually have and use those, so I’m good without anymore.   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? I work with children who have autism. For some reason, lots of “my” kids love those little things. So, yes, that would be awesome. I admit that I love the lego movies in the videogames. So darn cute!   Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Hmmm, let’s see what I can get away with. First, a bottle of Pumpkin Princess because I’m pretty sure it’ll work on me. Then a backup of Dorian, because I’m almost out (my first bottle that I finished!) and imps of Horse Chestnut Honey, Laurel Honey, and Oleander Honey. True confession: I so just went to the lab’s website and mocked that order to make sure that I got every penny I could spent without going over $50.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? Love and identify with? Let’s see. Jane Eyre and Luke Skywalker. Just love? Hello, Sydney Bristow and Eric Northman. Identify with—eh, I think I covered it with Jane and Luke. A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? I’m crafty (I can sew, make jewelry, and decoupage), but it’s more of a monkey see, monkey do sort of thing. I see something that I like, then try to make it to my taste and budget. Decoupage is the only thing I tend to actually create off of the top of my head without ripping it off somewhat (as much as cutting and pasting can be considered my own). I usually just spread everything out around me and go from there and put together what looks good.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? nah So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? Nah. Honestly, I kind of hate entertaining and meeting new people. My degrees are in psychology, so I’ve taken a lot of those personality tests (Big Five, Myers-Brigg, etc.). The one thing they always agree on is that I’m not only introverted, but I’m unusually introverted. According to the Big Five, my extraversion is in the 2nd percentile. I don’t think that’s correct—I’m not that bad—but it doesn’t hugely surprise me. So, no, please don't do that.       September 19th What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: Nothing I can think of off the top of my head. Fancy chocolates? How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? I had to look it up to see what it was, but I do this all the time. I don’t care too much for glitter or anything like that, but I’m all for different, fun colors. I really want a perfect teal or peacock blue polish--not too shimmery or blue (or green). Or a perfect coral (not too orange, not too pink).   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I love lip balm and gloss. Anything to put on my lips, honestly. I don’t care what kind or what flavors, though I prefer Philosophy lip glosses to anything in the world, except maybe just regular Blistex. Korres lip butter is awesome too.   Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? (I know I have a wishlist on JetPens and just love using fountain pens in my artwork) No thanks. -For those interested in watercolors, how would you feel about getting a palette filled with paint from my watercolor tubes but not getting the paint tube itself? (kind of like this but without the covers for the compartments and bigger http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream) I have absolutely no gift for drawing or painting. Decoupaging, I’m your girl. Decorating, I’m good at. Actually having to draw something? I can’t do jack.   -How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? (copic markers, watercolor, brushes, paint, sketchbooks etc.) See above. Scrapbooking and jewelry supplies are more of my speed. -How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? I honestly only tend to wear true t-shirts if I’m sleeping in them (well, lounging in them before I go to bed). We have pretty strict rules about what we can and can’t wear at work and tshirts are out. Most of my clothes are work compliant, so I don’t tend to wear tshirts much. They’re cute though—I think I could wear Knotty and Nice or something like that and get away with it at work. If you were turned loose in a basic drug store (CVS, Walgreens - a pharmacy with attached mini-mart, basically!) with a $20 bill, what would you pick up? Probably a lipstick or lip balm, a nail polish, and/or a book. Darling Witchee, would you enjoy farmer's market pickled veggies (green beans, garlic, asparagus, etc) or fresh canned peaches or something of that nature? Fruits, yes. Veggies? Probably not. Except maybe corn or broccoli. Would any of that stuff really be good to get from the mail, though?   Do you prefer color or white photographs? Nature or abstract? Either/or. I really like pictures of interesting doors and windows, though. I visit some place and I come back with lots of pictures of buildings for some reason. New Orleans is the best place for interesting doors and street signs, lamposts, etc. would you be interested in something like this? https://lostcrates.com/how-it-works Now that’s cool. I’m half tempted to do one for myself.   Amigurumi, yes or no? No.   I have a question! What are some of your favorite paintings? (famous or undiscovered?) Feel free to link to examples! “Summer” by Mucha and “My Sweet Rose” by Waterhouse. If you could have an image painted for you - sky is the limit - what would it be? A peacock. Name your 3 favorite scents for candles. 1) vanilla, 2) lavender, 3) something foody—I’m burning Marshmallow Fireside by Slatkin and Co. and it’s the best thing ever. Name your 3 favorite types/flavors of tea. 1) chai, 2) vanilla, 3) iced sweet tea (yes, I’m southern and considering that a type of tea   September 18th Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I don’t tend to wear tshirts unless I’m going to bed. How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc.... Love it. Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin? Never heard of it before, but they’re all kinds of cute. If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. Nothing that I can think of besides perhaps Cadbury chocolate. Yum. Dear witchee, if you answered 'Mac' to the Mac/PC question previously issued by another participant, please tell me what kind of computer you have, what peripherals you own (like the wireless trackpad, wireless vs/wired keyboard and mouse), and whether you're interested in Apple-related items (stickers, keychains, other things with the logo, etc). I’m a PC kind of girl.   SOCK PREFERENCES? I have none. Seriously—I’ll wear anything except perhaps over the knee socks. If I’m going that high, I might as well wear tights. Which I do. Is there anyone here who likes toe socks? You know, those socks with a place for each toe? Yep. I love any type of novelty sock—for some reason, the dichotomy of wearing a rather professional-ish outfit and something crazy on my feet cracks me up.     September 17th Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? None that I can think of at the moment…I’m using youtube to get my fix of Star Wars deleted scenes (and don’t own a bluray player besides. As far as DVDs go, I tend to buy what I want pretty quickly (but that’s not a lot). The only thing I can think of is buying the Dexter box sets, but I’m pretty sure that’s just because I’m finally catching up on last season of Dexter. Perhaps a DVD of Labyrinth--I still only have it on VHS--and Disney movies that I didn't buy because I was too busy being mad that they didn't release Sleeping Beauty on DVD for a while. So I think that would be Beauty and the Beast and Mulan. I hate the Disney vault. Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? I’m not a huge postcard fan. I don’t live anywhere cool, so I won’t be too big a help in that direction.   Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? Sadly, no. I’m moving in less than a month, so everything is going towards that. No fun concerts for me. Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? When I was a kid, I loved Star Trek: The Next Generation (I think that’s what it’s called). I had a pretty massive crush on Patrick Stewart until I realized that he looked like my grandpa. Not just a grandpa, but my specific grandpa. Crush killed instantly.   September 16th Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? I’m more likely to do microwave food and ready prepared food than actually cook or order out. I’d like to start learning to cook…it just sucks to cook for only one.   New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? It’s good. Nothing amazing that I’d freak out over, but really good. How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) it’s just something else I’d have to lug around in my purse, along with the rest of the stuff. Cute idea, though. Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? Look at my user pic. I love Star Wars. Original trilogy only, though. Don’t get me started. But the original trilogy was a game changer for me—it made me realize that I was going to be a nerd and just embrace it. I finally had something that I liked more than I liked what people thought of me. It was wonderful. Favorite character? Leia when I was younger, for being everything a princess usually wasn’t. Now that I’m older, Luke. I’ve always found the pure hearted hero more interesting than a scoundrel with a heart of gold, and watching him grow up is probably the entire reason that the original trilogy still resonates with me. Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene)? Nope. Not a jerky eater. Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. I don’t mind them, but warn me in advance if it’s dirty. I work with children and often use my laptop near them. Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) I feel like the world’s worst nerd for admitting this, but I’ve never see Doctor Who. I’m seriously ashamed. Anyone love Buffy/Angel? Yes-ish. I love season 1-5 of Buffy but could fill up an entire forum on my rage about season 6-7. Unfortunately, that rage kind of bled into my Angel watching as well, so I only saw the earlier seasons. How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? Nah. I’m not a huge fan. It’s the texture.   How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? Neat! I have an itouch and a laptop. Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? I like it all—cheesy or creepy. I’m cool with creepy, except true ghost story kind of stuff. That freaks me out, though I’m not sure if I believe it in or not.   Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? Only my ears are pierced, but I’m cool with all kinds of earrings. I'm particularly partial to posts at the moment, but that changes constantly. How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? Never had one. I just learned that it’s a southern thing from this forum. Now I feel like a bad southerner. Are they the same as Moon Pies? It sounds like it. Because I love me some Moon Pies.     September 15th interested in anything from Lush? I love Lush. Do you blog? Would you like a header for your blog, a layout, etc? I don’t blog.   Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? I love books, so yes! do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? would you want to get some from your witch / nacho witch? Never had it, but that sounds really good. How would you feel about receiving a Groupon deal for something in your local area? If there is anything you WOULDN'T like, mention that also. I’d love it. There’s nothing particularly that I wouldn’t use. do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? Not really.   Who here adores meringue? It’s okay.

SW 2012

Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? Yes. A lot—my recent favorite is Nutella s’mores. Mmmmm. Nutella. They used to have Hershey S’more candy bars that you could find around Halloween, but I haven’t been able to find them in a long time. Those were the best, though. What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. Someone, about 5 years ago, so I’m not sure who, frottled me a Yvaine bottle. Considering I love Yvaine, I was pleased as punch. She also gave me a postcard which I decoupaged as the focal point on a box that I keep my office supplies in. I wish I could remember who, but it’s been a long time and the community’s full of great people, so things like that happen often.   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example). Spices, yes, especially if it'll taste good on fish or chicken. Colorful kitchen gadgets, not so much. I’m not a huge cook. Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? Yes yes yes. I love that kind of stuff. I wear a L (except perhaps at Old Navy, where I sometimes wear a M in their pajama pants). What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? Honestly, as long as it doesn’t have bacon, any kind. I love chocolate. It’s an issue. I just don’t get the bacon/chocolate combination. Or really any sweet/savory combination. I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I live near a Whole Foods and Trader Joes, but I don’t know what a Penzeys is. I love Trader Joes Lacey cookies. Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? As long as they looked half decent and edible, I think I’d happily eat them. I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! I don’t tend to do Walmart, but I’d easily spend it in Target. Nail polish (something in a nice fall color), candles (anything sweet and foody and fall like), lip and cheek stains, and lip balm.   What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? I’m a huge fan of Italian, Greek, and American food. I’m not a fan of anything Asian (Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean, the whole entire continent—I don’t like any food from there—yes, I know that’s odd). Favorite restaurants: Chilis, IHOP, Mellow Mushroom, Substation II (though I think that’s just a SC thing). I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? I like maple syrup. Can you send me free healthcare? That would be nice. :/ what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? My true fandoms? Star Wars (original trilogy only), Sherlock, Fullmetal Alchemist, Avatar the Last Airbender (the cartoon only—I apparently need so many qualifications). Other things I enjoy? Labyrinth and Lord of the Rings. I like sleeping in geeky tees, but I can’t wear them to work, so I don’t tend to buy them for myself unless they’re really cheap.   Do you have an eReader and if so which one? Yes! A kindle fire, which I mostly use to download apps for reinforcers for my clients. But I do have several books on there. Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? Honestly, I like anything that smells good. I prefer foody scents (caramel, cupcakes, cookies, etc) and what I consider “warm” scents (leather, honey, outdoor scents, amber). I’ve consistently burned Bath and Body Works’ Salted Caramel and Marshmallow Firesite my favorite) this last week.   Marzipan? I don’t know. I’ve never tried it. I’d try it if it was sent to me. Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? Sure. It would cut down on me buying papertowels often.   Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? I’m not really a drinker.   If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? I’ve never had either, but those both sound amazing. If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? I have several knitted necklaces on my etsy wishlist that I’m dying to figure out how to make. And I love any type of socks/slippers. Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? Nope. It’s just me. Last year, my wonderful witch Alethia adopted a bat for me from batworld.org, a bat rescue and sanctuary. Bat's World Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name? Aww, bats. I like bats. How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box? That would be cool. Kind of like a minivacation where you get tons of souvenirs without the actual vacation part. Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Maple syrup, sure. But I don’t like rice. I feel like a bad southerner for saying this, but I don’t really eat rice. I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? No thanks. Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? The Rose, Bow and Crown of Conquest, and Black Hellebore Honey. Stuffed things: yea or nay? They’ll just go to my clients (I work with children who have autism), but sure. mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? Yes! That's the kind of cooking I like! Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? I don’t really drink alcohol. Nothing against it and I’ll drink it in a social situation; it’s just not my thing. Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials? Making my own candles or lip balm. My sister does it, but I haven’t tried it yet. Or hammering/stamping leather and metals for jewelry. Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? I’m discovering that I’m super picky about teas, so I don’t think so.   Stuff From Retro Dry Goods? Nope. I feel like I should love it, but I can’t really find anything. Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? Nah. Plain Hershey’s or Hugs or nothing. What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style? I have a kitchen/dining room combo that has a bird motif in darkish colors. I have several peacocks and different types of framed feathers on my wall. Colors are that kind of dark chartreuse/spiced olive jcrew color and brown.   Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays! Tattooine by Jeremy Messerman A Day in the Life by the Beatles Better by Regina Spektor Aggie Fights from the Paranormal soundtrack Outsider by the Daylights Baba O’Reilly by the Who Unworthy by Ani Difranco The Awakening by Lucinda Williams Not a Robot by Andrew Bird Throne Room by John Williams   What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike? LIKE: waking up to –but not being woken up by—birds singing. Makes me feel like a friggin Disney princess. The smell of gas. My clients being super sweet. DISLIKE: shops that misspell things on purpose or add numbers where there should be letters (Krafty Korner, Rooms 2 Go, etc.) Ugh. Spell it right, people. Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? There's an herbal shop I really like here in NYC called Flower Power that has quite a wide selection. I’m not much of a cook, so nothing I can think of. If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments? No thanks.   Hey Witchee! I want to send you a delivery. It could be cupcakes from a local bakery, it could be a singing hugging bear-a-gram, it could be a bouquet of flowers. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive. a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* B..) Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries? c) If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously?   Special deliveries? Sure, as long as it comes in the mornings. I’m at my house most mornings. If it’s an afternoon delivery, it wouldn’t work so well—I work out of people’s houses, so I’m at a different place each day. Cupcakes and flowers and other fun things would be appreciated. No thanks to anything that requires me to be touched by a stranger in a costume or sung to, though.   What are some things you are OK with receiving gently used or homemade, and some things you absolutely do not want if they are gently used or homemade? I’m pretty good with anything that’s gently used (except cosmetics/bath stuff) or homemade.   And now a new question: I live near a Mast General Store (mastgeneralstore.com). It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you? Eh, I asked it and, since there’s only about 5 in the country, the odds of my witch living near one is slim, so I’m not going to answer this. If you want to know it, let me know!   Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? Not really, but I do turn my ipod to Halloween music and watch horror movies all night long on Halloween.   Ninjas or Pirates? Ninjas. But honestly I don’t absolutely love either.   I have an extra room spray and 2 extra bath oils (one Cephalopod, one Exhibit Hall Fatigue) from Dragon*Con - would anybody like a decant? Either sounds good.   Witchee, would you like it if I made you a "mix tape" of songs that I think you might like? And if so, would you prefer mp3 or CD format? Yes! I love mix CDs. I don’t have a preference.   I know it is totally the wrong season (for most of us), but do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you like to grow? I live in an apartment, so I don’t really have a space to garden. I kind of wish I did, but saving for the down payment on a house just isn’t working for me.   I'm about to be near a Lush store next week, is there anything you might like from there? Honestly, it’ll probably be quicker to list what I don’t want. I love everything from Lush. I particularly love their lip balms and Butterballs.   Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it? None that I can think of right now.   Movies that you love but forgot to put in your questionaire? None that I can think of right now.     Any favorite Bath & Body Works scents/products? I love their Marshmallow Fireside and Salted Caramel candles. I also like their Vanilla Sandalwood wallflowers. I also like their lip glosses.   Haus of Gloi is offering custom perfumes - would you like one? What would your ideal blend be? Sounds cool, but I have some sensitivities to perfumes, so I tend to just stick to BPAL—it’s the only company that I haven’t had some reaction to.
