Switch Witch Fall 2012 Q&A

Ok so, someone else's ketchup answer made me think I may have mis-interpreted a question on the questionnaire. For the record, regarding any and all handmade items other than food: big yes please from me.   My Hogwarts house is Gryffindor. Something I saw made me think I should mention that.   My wishlist/favorites links unbroken: BPAL is actually in my sig Amazon Main List: http://amzn.com/w/3F6MOWNIPRGHJ Amazon List of things I don't want my parents/in-laws to know are on my wishlist: http://amzn.com/w/3HMGE0ES2QA4Z Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/people/Mistresslaw/favorites?ref=si_fav   Haunt? I've never even heard of this company before now. However, since there was a tempting-looking link, I peeked. The following Lip Lusts look yummy:   Batty Cask Caramel Apple Pumpkin Cake Honey Bettie   Also, I have no idea what a skin glossing oil is. Sounds like some sort of moisturizer? I could certainly use a moisturizer. Golden Pumpkin, Cloak, and Summer's End sound good. These scents sound like they would also be good as a sugar scrub. (I assume the polish is a scrub.)   If you had a fairy for NYCC, what exclusive scent would you kill to own? Can't say there's anything there that looks like I'd injure over it.   Do any of Villainness' Soap Box exclusive scents interest you, especially any of the Smooches/Whippeds? Xia sounds quite interesting! I'd be more interested in a smooch than in the bar soap, but I'm sure either would be divine. Jack O. might be interesting, but I'd be worried about the "leaves" part of it. That sort of thing tends to turn me off if it's too strong.   Puddin' just put a shitton of old Lunacy shirts on the BPTP Etsy! Any ones interest you? Why yes, yes I am. I'm incredibly tempted by the Black Butterfly Moon tee, and I also like the Blue Moon tee. I'm super sad that the Dragon Moon tee isn't available in 2XL. Otherwise, I'd be all over that one. I actually posted that over in the BPTP forum before I saw this. Hehe.   General t-shirt size Mens Large for "regular" t-shirts. Babydolls depend a little on the style, but 2XL is typical. Some styles I can get away with smaller. My bust is a size 38DD, if that helps any. (And thank whatever deity is out there that they shrunk some when I stopped breast feeding. OMG. >.>)   I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. Would you be interested in trying something like Georgia Moonshine Jelly or TOE Jam (each letter stands for some kind of fruit, I don't remember which ones) or something similar? How about homemade jam in general? Homemade jam would be yummy. Moonshine jam, I will pass on.   Would you be interested in homemade herbal remedies and tinctures? No thank you.   Lip balm - tube or tin? either   Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes? Journal/sketchbook, not so much. I keep starting journals and then abandoning them. >.> Pretty post-its, notepads, stationary, etc. if all good though. I love me some notepads. ^^   Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? I've never had an audiobook. Not sure how I feel about it. At the moment, I don't think I have a particular time it would be good to listen to one.   Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no? Maybe? I've never used one. As mentioned in my questionnaire, I have sensitive skin, so I could see this going either way. Depends how abbrasive it is maybe?   Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like? No, not at the moment.   Would you like a pair of knitted socks? Sure!   Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related? Definitely. Dishtowels, potholders, and the like would be most welcome, especially if fandom/holiday related.   Do you subscribe to any sample boxes, and if so, which ones? Would you like to receive some samples? (perfume, eco/"green," skin care, hair, music downloads, cosmetics, soap...) I do not. I didn't know this was something you could do. I don't think it would really be up my alley though.   do you have a problem with nudes??? Well now, that all depends. In general, no, I have no problem with nudes in art (as long as it's not utterly pornographic). So, a print would be fine. As the cover to a notepad or something, or on a bookmark would also be fine. On a T-shirt, not so much, if you know what I mean.   My Little Pony... Cute or meh? I enjoy it.   My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?) I don't actually do secondhand clothing. It's one of the only things I don't do second-hand and I'm not even sure why. It's just a thing. I also don't do the whole designer purse thing. I have a basic black one for when I need to be formal and other than that I go with either my messenger bag or belt pouch.   I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com. Terykai flavored Beef Jerky (any brand but Pemican) Halloween Stickers Pink CD (any of them. Prefer unedited where available/necessary) Richard Castle's Storm Season (This does not come out until mid-October) My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Celebration at Canterlot [DVD]   WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF!!! movies, comedians, black humor, your partner, a comic strip? what? Undercover Blues. Muerte gets me every time. My husband makes me a laugh a lot. It's one of the things I love about him, since I tend to be down on myself and he's always there to pick me up. Jeff Foxworthy is usually good for a laugh too. I was watching The American Bible Challenge out of curiosity a couple weeks ago and he managed to work in a redneck joke. Here they are being all serious about the charity they're playing for and all that and he says, "Hate to say it, but if your church is also a skating rink, yoooooou might be a redneck." I almost spewed my drink.   You are meeting up with someone on a casual lunch/early afternoon thing. This person is someone you want to impress/look good for (for whatever reason, not necessarily romantic, and not necessarily for business either). What would you look like, given the contents of your wardrobe/etc? Umm...I'd have to hope it was cold and see if I could dig up a sweater that still fits, or go shopping for something new. My wardrobe right now wouldn't impress anyone. Between being out of work for 4 years and still not losing the baby weight from the pregnancy last year I'm woefully short on "impressive" clothes that fit correctly.   You are to be let loose in a clothing store of your choice, to pick a full outfit, down to the shoes, the accessories, etc. and things would be altered to fit you if needed. What store would that be, and what would you look like? To be honest, I don't know. I don't really like 99% of what is sold in stores, which is part of why I like my t-shirts and jeans. Comfy and all. Most of today's "fashion" I feel makes me look stupid. If I could have any outfit that I want though, I'd be going with gauzy peasant-style shirts with flared sleeves. kind of like =tags&ga_search_query=flared+sleeve+blouse&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery"]this one, but looser, longer in the torso (closer to tunic length), and made out of a soft cotton-gauze. Also, some really nice, fitted leather pants, and black leather boots with a buckle on the side and about a 1.5 inch heel.   You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? (caveats: size doesn't matter, but they have to be tangible/buyable). Nightmare Moon and DJ Pon-3 from this set here. I will never buy that box because it is ridiculously expensive, but I really want those two ponies out of it. The third thing would be a new mouse for my computer because the one I have is glitchy and driving me bonkers at the moment.   What is your holy grail "I'd kill to just have one drop in an imp" bpal scent? At the moment, probably kitty because I'm searching for the perfect strawberry scent and everyone said that one was awesome, and I keep kicking myself for not getting some but I wasn't in a position to place a TP order when it was available. >.> I might turn out to hate it though. I've never sniffed it, so I don't know. >.>   Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting? I got ordered decants of all the BPAL ones I wanted. I'm anxiously awaiting the BPTP update though, so we'll see.   I live in Japan. Anything you would be interested in from there?   Final Fantasy keychains or cellphone charms maybe? (like a moogle, a tonberry, a chocobo, or something. Something with the logo.) I'm given to understand there are more options for such things in Japan than there are here in the US.   Do you do Goodreads or LibraryThing or a site like that? If so, can I see your to-read list, please? I don't. Sorry.   Zombies; Yay or Nay? Umm...they're ok in the spirit of Halloween, but I wouldn't want zombie plushies or anything. On cards or something though, totally fine.   If you have cats, do they like catnip toys? If you have doggies, would they like a super-reinforced canvas toy with a squeaker in it? No cats or dogs here   If you have kids, what are they into? My daughter's only 1.5. She's into playing with empty boxes and whatever she can make noise with. She does love My Little Pony though. She's even trying to say it already. Hehe.   How do you feel about wearable knitted lace? Shawls, wraps, and the like? I don't wear lace, shawls, or wraps.   Looking at the warehouse, I notice that our lovely Greenwoodtree is able to do chart readings and/or forecasts at a very reasonable rate. Is this something you would want? Probably not really.   CUSTOM-Made Pottery?? yea or nay? coffee mugs, rustic or more elegant? a set of bowls? soap dish? bird feeder? something alltogether different? and lastly, good colors for glazes...? Very cool. Mugs or bowls would be most useful. Coasters wouldn't go amiss either. Not sure if you can really make coasters that way, but thought I'd toss it out there.   I'm not sure what colors glazes can be, but I like richer colors over pastels. Deep greens, blues, reds, black.   Do you have a forum buddy? Someone who knows you and/or your tastes well enough to answer questions on your behalf? No, I don't think so   If you are on Livejournal, would you appreciate LJ stuff like paid time, custom userheads, stuff like that? If you are NOT on LJ but are on other sites that have similar paid-for services (Flickr, for example?) would you, and what are those sites/etc? I don't use anything like that that requires fees.   if you are into tarot, what is your favorite card? I like tarot as a concept, but have never gotten into reading it myself. I don't have a favorite card.   would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones? Gonna have to say no. I just don't think they'd get enough use.   Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above? Coffee: yes Tea: no Hot Chocolate: I don't like packets. I steam the milk and add cocoa myself. >.> Cider: I enjoy it, but have never made my own or anything.   Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above? Gum: is ok, but I only like minty ones that have really long-lasting flavor. Hard candy: Meh. Things like butterscotch candies you suck aren't really a big thing for me. Things like Runts or such, I think are ok, but they're more up Hubby's alley. Soft Candy: Not sure what you mean. Like caramel chews? They're alright. I like gummies and chocolate (of course).   Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.) I don't really do tea.   Do you lust after some new socks/tights? Socks yes, tights no. I hate tights. >.>   Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want? Yup! I play practically everything. I think I mentioned in my questionnaire that I do boardgaming and video games. I also play D&D when the opportunity arises. There's a couple games I want on my amazon wishlist. I've got the new pokemon game for gameboy on pre-order, but I'm not really lusting after anything else at the moment. I'm still debating if I want to upgrade to the 3DS or not.(I have the original Nintendo DS still, not even the lite). The price tag is high when the only game I'm interested in that actually has the 3D capabilities isn't even out yet and last I checked has no solid release date (Animal Crossing). It's such a cool machine though; plus, I checked out the 3DS XL at Target and I really like the larger screen. I keep talking myself out of it, but I'm thinking maybe for Christmas. Not sure how relevant that is, but figured I may as well toss out the whole though process.   For video games, I can currently play on Gameboy DS, Wii, PS2, and PC.   Would you be interested in BPTP CANDY? Depends on what it turns out to be, but possibly. Based on the hints Puddin' gave, black cherry sounds interesting. I do love me some cherry. Pumpkin might also be interesting.   Do you like coffee? If so, what kinds? Flavored, fancy, basic? Beans or ground? I do like coffee. French vanilla and mocha are my go-tos. The Pumpkin coffee that's at Dunkin' Donuts right now is totally fabulous. Despite my love of chocolate, I've never met a chocolate coffee that I enjoyed. There was a Christmas Spice one a few years ago that was really good. So, I guess yes to flavors then. >.>   I do ground coffee. I can't use K-Cups. I don't have the right machine for them. My machine has a re-usable filter, so no need for replacements though, which is nice.   Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place? I'm actually not a fan of Starbucks. I much prefer Dunkin' Donuts.     Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? They're ok, but I seem to recall them getting overwhelming after a while.   What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style? I have a small galley kitchen with mix-matched appliances and some sort of formica(or something) counter/backsplash that is a granite grey. All the cabinets are painted white. I actually really hate it, but in the world of apartment living there's not much I can do.   Witchee, what are your favorite quotes? To be honest, a lot of my favorite quotes make no sense what-so-ever when taken out of context. One or two of them contain colorful language as well, so I would avoid posting them so as not to upset anyone or break any rules. I do like:   To seize the dragon is to face life.   It is carved on one of my dragon statues and I really like it. I try to remind myself of it when debating if I should do something new and possibly scary.   Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays!   1. "You Can Still Be Free" - Savage Garden 2. "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?" - Mommy & Me CD 3. "Rings and Roses" - The Hunger 4. "Mambo No. 5" - Lou Bega 5. "Another Night" - Real McCoy 6. "Don't Lose Your Head" - INXS 7. "Full Forever" - Goo Goo Dolls 8. "Vacancy" - Harry Chapin 9. "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" - The Jackson 5 10. "Madame Guillotine" - Scarlet Pimpernel Soundtrack   What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike? I really like dark chocolate peanut M&Ms. They are crazy good. I really dislike the color pink.   Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? There's an herbal shop I really like here in NYC called Flower Power that has quite a wide selection. Not really, no.   If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments? I don't think so, thank you.   Hey Witchee! I want to send you a delivery. It could be cupcakes from a local bakery, it could be a singing hugging bear-a-gram, it could be a bouquet of flowers. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive. a: Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* I am (although I agree with others about saying not o hugs from strange people in fuzzy suits), but the callbox on my apartment doesn't connect to me because I don't have a local number, so I'm not sure how something like this would work. b: Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries? Yes. c: If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously? No, sorry. Since the only number I have right now is my cell number, I'm actually really careful about how I hand it out. I don't give it to most companies, so I wouldn't be ok with it being used for this sort of delivery.   What are some things you are OK with receiving gently used or homemade, and some things you absolutely do not want if they are gently used or homemade? I'm ok with most things gently used. The exceptions are clothes and make-up. Homemade, anything tangible is fine.   I live near a Mast General Store. It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you? Some of the mixes look interesting, but I'm not familiar with the store.   Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? Just dressing up for Halloween.   Ninjas or Pirates? Ninjas, totally.   I have an extra room spray and 2 extra bath oils (one Cephalopod, one Exhibit Hall Fatigue) from Dragon*Con - would anybody like a decant? No, thank you. None of them scream that they would be perfect for me, although the room spray sounds intriguing, but not enough to make me want it over someone else who it sounds perfect too. ^^   Witchee, would you like it if I made you a "mix tape" of songs that I think you might like? And if so, would you prefer mp3 or CD format? Certainly! CD would be best.   I know it is totally the wrong season (for most of us), but do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you like to grow? I do not. Hopefully someday I will have a yard and can grow some small things.   I'm about to be near a Lush store next week, is there anything you might like from there? Not familiar with Lush   Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it? The On The Rocks version of Bad Romance   Movies that you love but forgot to put in your questionaire? Undercover Blues   Name one movie you keep meaning to buy, but just never get around to getting? Legally Blond   Any favorite Bath & Body Works scents/products? I really like their hand sanitizers, the pocket sized ones.   Haus of Gloi is offering custom perfumes - would you like one? What would your ideal blend be? Never heard of them and have zero knowledge of blending scents like that. Looking at their custom build page, I don't know the difference between a base note and a top note, for instance, so I wouldn't know what to do with this.   Any Bath, Body or nutritional type items you would love to try from a Natural and Organic food store (similar to Whole Foods) that you don't buy because they are a bit too pricey? I don't think so.   Witchee, will you be gone from your normal mailing address at any point during the round? Nope   Are you a Disney fan or does even thinking about Disney make your head hurt? If you're into Disney, would you like something from the Happiest Place on Earth ? Big Disney fan here. Souveneirs are good. ^^   dear witchee, would you, could you use an electric candle warmer? i'm talking something like this. That looks very cool, but I don't think I have a safe place to put it.   I live near this very cool Retro store (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them? I don't really see anything, no.   mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? Sounds fine to me.   Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? No, thank you.   Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials? Several. I mentioned them in my questionnaire. I would certainly be interested in supplies and tutorials.   Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? No, Thank you.   Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue? I don't.   Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? Ash Evans is the only artist whose work I have hanging in my house. I like her seasonal cat paintings and I have a few of her dragons as well. I don't spend enough time oogling art to really have favories otherwise. I guess I could say Disney. I have a friend whose house is covered in Disney movie pictures, sketches, and stills and I'm always envious when I walk down her halls. Tangled, by the way, is my new favorite Disney movie of all time. 101 Dalmations is still a close second though.   If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images? I can't think of a specific image, but hard to go wrong with dragons for me, as long as they aren't in the process of eating someone in a really gorey way.   Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? nope   I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish? The only nail polish in the house right now is BPTP and Del Sol. I like the BPTP better. I'm open to new polishes, but I don't wear them all the time. I could really use a nice green or blue.   Stuffed things: yea or nay? Yea for me.   Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Not sure about the wild rice. I've never had it. I am open to new recipe ideas, but usually stick to things that are on the quicker side because it's hard to cook things that take a longer time with the little one under foot; so if it takes a long time to cook properly, it may not be for me right now. Maple Syrup, absolutely. No issues with potential spoilage there and I've never had homemade syrup.   I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? Respectfully no, I think. I'm super picky about my tomato sauce.   How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box? Very cool idea.   Last year, my wonderful witch Alethia adopted a bat for me from batworld.org, a bat rescue and sanctuary. Bat's World Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name? I will have to look into the charity more before answering that question, but I will find some time to do that this week and then update in my blog. ^^   Marzipan? Don't think I've ever had it.   Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? No, thank you. I'd have no place to put them. My counter space is already overflowing. ><   Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? Also, does your state allow alcohol to be shipped through the mail (for example, PA doesn't). I don't drink enough alcohol to warrant having vodka in the house. Usually if I want something alcoholic, it's just while we're out to dinner.   If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? I'm sooooo down for international specialty items like that. Although, regarding TimTams, I've had some imitation ones made by Pepperidge Farms that I didn't like much; or rather, I didn't think they were anything special.   If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? I'm always down for fluffy lounging socks. Fingerless gloves would not go amiss either.   Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? I don't think my husband cares all that much, although I'm sure he'd be appreciative if something were included for him. My daughter is only 1.5, so I'm not sure she'd really feel "left out", but I know that she would think it was great to have a little something of her own come in the mail. She always loves it when I let her open the boxes and envelops.   Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? I love s'mores and s'mores-flavored things, although I haven't had real s'mores in a very long time.   What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. When I was super new to the forum Meaganola sent me a whole bunch of imps and partial imps of things to try/sniff. Some were GCs and some were LEs that she just thought I should get to know. I thought it was the most amazingly thoughtful thing.   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) Definitely down for cute, useful things in the kitchen. I like seasonal dish towels, for example. I've never tried to make a bento box; not even sure what would go into it. I do like to use chopsticks when I eat sushi and chinese food though, and my local delivery never includes them, so I've been thinking about getting myself a set.   Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? I like them for lounging around the house in, but not for sleeping in. Not sure what size I would be. Large probably, but I have some medium sweatpants that fit fine. I'm a size 14/16 pants.   What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? I like milk and dark chocolate, but not the super ultra dark chocolate (like 60-70% dark is too much for me). I'm not a fan of white chocolate, but my husband loves it. I'm fins with nuts, but fruit filled (other than orange) is my favorite. Totally open to trying new things like sea salt or chili or such in chocolate.   I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I don't really shop at those stores, so I'm not sure what they carry. I know what they are. I've been there. I just don't have a good enough handle on their unique products to say that I want something specific.   Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? Strange mailed food, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm trying to eat fewer cookies and things anyway and I'd never really considered mailing something else. Hmmm... I think I don't have a problem with it in the sense that it's not the fact it's strange that would bother me, but many things I would be concerned about them getting stale before I could finish eating them when you factor in shipping time.   I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! My little ponies, if they had any I didn't have. The new Rick Castle book.   What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? Italian, chinese, american; I enjoy Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, IHOP;   Do you have an eReader and if so which one? I have a Nook, as I mentioned in my questionnaire.   Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? No candles or open flames in my apartment. Too much fear of toddler interference.   I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? Not that I know of.   what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? My Little Pony, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Heralds of Valdemar, Final Fantasy, Pokemon As for if I'd want a shirt, it would honestly depend on the shirt. I can fairly safely say that even though I really enjoy MLP, I would not want an MLP shirt. The others, it would depend 100% on what it looked like.

Switch Witch Spring 2011 Questions & Answers

Baked Goods? Yea Nay? I would prefer no baked goods right now since I'm trying to eat healthier and I'm terrible at avoiding eating things like that when they are right in front of me.   If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? I'm all for recipes (hand-written or books) with new and interesting recipes. I'm trying to bring down my cholesterol, so recipes to help with that would be particularly helpful. I'm also always on the lookout for good slow cooker recipes. My slow cooker is my friend, but I have so few good recipes for it.   If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) Luna Moth, Paper Kite (would have to be from forum), Kitty bath salt & perfume, Okiya goblin squirt   What level of nudity are you fine with on items? Depends on the type of item. It would be different for a mug (prefer none) than a painting. I'm generally ok with tasteful nudity.   I know the ?aire asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? Anything but clothing, as long as it's clean. I get lots of good knick knacks and corningware that way.   Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? Sure, I'm willing to try anything. I'm a fan of Original Camp Mix, and my hubby likes their Spud Fixin's as well.   Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? Nope. I'm not really a tea person in general. I just have a little peppermint or camamille when I'm not feeling well.   Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Anything chocolate; jelly beans, cheese crackers, salsa, dried fruit (particularly mangos), beef jerky (teryaki flavor is my favorite)   If someone were attending Disney on Ice (Toy Story 3) with a bunch of Girl Scouts, would you want a patch/souvenir? Sure. I still have my vests, sash, and patches from my girl scout days and I love Disney.   Would you rather have HUGE list of things your witchee wants to try or just a highlight list? Huge list for sure. My collection is on the small side, so the bigger the list, the bigger the chance I find something on it I already have to send. Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? No, thank you.   Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? Not particularly   e-goodies? I'm all for useful links, fun pictures, and other random e-communication that might brighten my day.   candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? I haven't got a burner for melts, but I'm going to stray away from open flames with the new little one about.   Get your music player, what are the first 13 songs on Random?   1. Out of My Head - Fastball 2. Carry On Dancing - Savage Garden 3. Comin' to the Rescue - O-Town (Pokemon 200 soundtrack) 4. Hold Her Down - Toad the Wet Sprocket 5. A Place in This World - Taylor Swift 6. Women and Men - They Might be Giants 7. Didn't I Get This Last Year? - Bob Rivers 8. Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning) - Vertical Horizon 9. A Cloak of Elvenkind - Marcy Playground 10. More Than Words Can Say - Alias 11. Wreck The Malls - Bob Rivers 12. Fattening Time - Bob Rivers 13. Highwire - Gin Blossoms   Apparently shuffle liked my Christmas spoofs this time around.   Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? I would like a better one if I could find one, yes. A treasure chest, actually.   Do you have any blogs you regularly read? Cake Wrecks, Epbot, and Parenting with Crappy Pictures And lastly... surprise! the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? I honestly have no idea. All the things I'd really like to do would be wasted on a 24-hour time slot. I mean, I'd like to say travel and see things, but doing it in 24 hours would sort of ruin it because I wouldn't have time to take it all in.   Favorite artists or specific paintings? Not really. Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? nay Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? maybe?   Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? Ninjas! They're sneaky like that. I'm not real into zombies, but I like ninjas and pirates. Ninja pirates have been a theme at past events.   amigurumi? They sound cute, but I'm not really a doll collector. Crocheted dolls might be cute for the little one? Chocolate with things in it? I like truffles and caramels and fruit in my chocolate. I'm ok with peanuts, almonds or hazelnuts in my chocolate, but not so much with other nuts. I'm willing to try other, more out there things, but have never had the opportunity. Since it's relevant here, I actually really like Rum Raisin Ritter Sport bars and I haven't had one in about 8 years. I just can't find them around here anymore. If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? Strawberry Moon V5   Favorite animal kitty cats,at least as far as real animals go. I like both wild and domestic cats.   DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? Both. I'm currently working on updating my collection onto blu-ray.   Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) Sure! Anklets and footies are my preference. Mid-calves are also ok. I've never had toe-socks, but I've always been curious about them.   Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? Don't care   Do you like pirate-related things? Not enough that I collect it or anything, but I do like them well enough.   How would you feel if your witchee revealed to you in person? I wouldn't mind, but I keep odd hours at the moment due to baby keeping odd hours, so I'd prefer an arranged meeting at a public locale to randomly appearing on my doorstep.   Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? I like all kinds of pillows. Something in fun colors would be grand.   purses? bags? What style/colors? No thank you. Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? Not really into scarves, except to keep my neck warm in winter. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? Depends on the time of year, but I typically like fruity. I tend to lean more towards piney in the winter because it makes me think of Christmas trees. I like the scent of lilacs too, but I don't believe I've ever found anything that really smelled like them in a room scent.   hair accessories? No thanks. My hair is very short and fine. Clips and things slide right out of it.   Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? I don't know any.   Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? I'm not familiar with this, but if you think I'd like it, I'm willing to try it. Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these I read manga. I'm currently looking for .hack//Cell vols. 1 & 2; .hack//link vol 1; Vampire Knight vols 8 and up; and Naruto vols 32 and up. For ideas of other things I enjoy, I've also got all of Tokyo Mew Mew and Fruits Basket. I also enjoy anime. Slayers is my favorite. I have quite a bit of anime on DVD, so if you'd like a complete list, please ask. As an idea of some things I like: Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Fate Stay Night, Ruroni Kenshin, .hack, etc. I'm making it my goal to have everything .hack. I'm pretty sure I'm up to date on the dvds, I know I have all the games, and I'm missing the manga listed above. I also have a Tshirt, a Haseo figurine, and a few pins that came with sign when I bought it. In addition to that, I'm a huge Star Wars and Star Trek nut. I wanted to be a jedi when I was younger (tbh, I still think it would be cool). I especially like the original Star Trek, but next generation is also cool. Spock is my favorite character. I also play D&D, as seen by my Amazon wishlist, I'm missing quite a few of the new books. I don't get to play as often as I'd like, but I do enjoy it when I do. I've tried other tabletop gaming, but haven't really enjoyed most of it. The only other tabletop RPGs I've ever enjoyed were the other Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf: the Apocalypse by White wolf. I don't like their new systems though. I used to LARP a d&d type system before I got pregnant, but since it involved beating each other with foam-covered pipes, I couldn't do it after that and now I can't leave her to go back. Hubby and I play a variety of miniature games as well, although largely I just like painting the models. I tire of the games themselves fairly quickly. I am happy to receive items related to any of my geekiness, except more dice. I have more dice than I know what to do with already. I buy a set to match the color scheme of each of my miniature gaming armies. My Tyranids actually have 4 sets, one for each color, since they are color coded by mutation type.   Nail polish? I use it on occasion. I could go for some nice blues and greens, especially deep ones. I hear the TP has some in the works, so I keep hoping to see them appear.   Do you like poetry? Yes   What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I like X-Men. I keep thinking I should try to get some sort of collection so I can read it from the beginning. I also like manga. See geek question for more details there. Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? Been wanting a garlic roaster forever. Also keep thinking about getting a rice cooker.   Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse? I like soft things, especially if it is to cuddle or to wear. Anything worn against the skin really has to be soft. Wool and anything lacy just feels scratchy and makes me itch, although I'm fine with wool as an outer garment, like a cloak.   Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? Upon further consideration, I'm mildly intrigued by LORD TEISHIN WITH A DEMON BEHIND A SCREEN. It didn't jump out at me at first, but the more I look at the notes, the more I think it might work. If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? Not so much into the babysitting or cleaning my house (I'm just too particular about things), but I wouldn't mind going out for coffee or lunch or something. I also would have no problem with a minion dropping off a package.   Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Not familiar with this.   What three things are you craving right now? beef jerky. >.>   What is a scent that you've been trying to find? I am on the hunt for the perfect strawberry scent. I had a Strawberry Shortcake shampoo as a kid that left my hair smelling of strawberries and I hope to find something that will evoke the same feeling. Something else that I keep thinking looks interesting when it shows up on eBay though is Enraged Groundhog Musk.   Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for? Not at this time.   Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...) Probably not just because I fear the espresso scent would be too overpowering. I've never actually even looked at the villainess site before, but smooch and/or smack sound promising for my skin. I'm not really clear on what the difference between them is. Smooch is maybe not a cleanser, but smack is? *feels stupid* Perhaps someone could explain, because it sounds very nice. If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? Berry patch x2, Vanilla Bean & Red Woods; or maybe Tropical Fruit x2, Coconut Milk & Honey Nut It looks like I could easily go nuts trying to design yummy combinations.   Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? I would say sure, but we're sort of getting out of the season where I would wear any of it. I could always go for a nice pair of lounging socks though. Favorite colors are dark green, dark blue, and black.
