winter bunny trails

November 4th Moxie Nouveau groupon? sure, i was contemplating that myself what's your favourite colour? greens, blues, earthtones, jeweltones Your favourite gemstone?topax/citrine. i like most any colored stones   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? foxes, wolves, big cats, frogs, dragons   And do you have any intense phobias? not coming to mind   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? i think i'm physically incapable of writing fiction. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks?i always need storage-y type stuff   November 2nd Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? not that i can think of...and i'm probably one of the only people who despises 'a christmas story' my favorite 'takes place at christmas' story is probably Love Actually, and there are a few movies I pull out at holiday time just on principle (i have an ancient nutcracker ballet taped on pbs for instance)   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Not averse to comics, but I don't collect anything in particular.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. I can't think of anything in particular   Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? no kids, kali loves stuffed toys but unless i tell her they're hers she leaves things alone   How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? I love honey, especially trying regional ones (i used to get tupelo honey somewhere, that was probably my favorite). Beeswax gets used occasionally for waxing book thread and other weird things like that.   Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? I am *completely ignorant* of Trader Joe's firsthand.   The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? I already ordered Yuletide Mariner soap since it's like my favorite ever of hers...I love Victorious Sun, Comfort and Joy sounds pretty, Snoggin' sounds kind of interesting...I'm also very interested in her new body creams.   If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? There was some stuff I was curious about, but my lovely witch gave me a bottle of the one i really wanted (la calavera)     Will you be away for any part of the round? negative   Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything?   If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? I prefer traditional, or pretty instrumental. I think I went a little overboard answering that in my swap survey...   Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I might like to try a little something--I've had faintly rose flavored stuff and liked it before.   Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?) I'm curious here...   i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). nothing that comes wtih a warning label--i love hot food, but not if the hot is all i can taste. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? anything that my fox thinks would fall in with my interests would be lovely.   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? not big on the whole salt/meat thing in chocolate, but other than that i'm pretty open. i like peanuts in chocolate more than peanut butter, though i like peanut butter well enough on its own.   as far as holiday candies...not even sure what would count for christmas candy...the white honey nougat stuff, clove candy canes. <ponder> most sweets i associate with the holidays are baked.   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? quite a bit, but i'm thinking i might try to make my own sweets in their image, as it were, since they're pretty spendy. most of the marshmallows and caramels sound lovely though.   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Interested, yes, will actually get, no. I windowshop, favorite lots of stuff, and move along. =)   October 30   Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? I do trees! Well, we'll see this year--I have a thing for live trees but they never actually make it to the yard. =( I will at least be decorating my poor beleagured norfolk pine. As for themes, it's a little bit of everything, but I tend to lean toward nature based stuff, plus all the friend and family ornaments I've started to accumulate. Would you like a special ornament? Sure!   Tim Tams. Yay or nay? No thank you. One of the specialty shops here in town actually carries the Aussie ones, so I can indulge as needed. =)   I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I am southern, I fear neither butter nor sugar, lol. Homemade stuff is wonderful, but if my fox is a non-kitchenista, this is also perfectly fine.   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? hypothetically yes, practically, not so much. I share a very well-populated kitchen.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? I am the bearer of winter lizardskin, therefore scrubs are joy and wonderment. Moister is better for me, probably sugar though I could use either, and as far as scents, I tend to use citruses, lavender, clove, bergamot, and cedarwood oils in stuff like my hair rinse, so things along those lines I know are good.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I like plain candles if I'm actually supposed to burn them, I won't melt the pretties. <sheepish> I like some lightly foodie scents (a nice light vanilla), not-too-sweet fruity scents, a true christmas tree scent...   Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores I do use soaps, but I tend to go fruity, spicy, or outdoorsy in my selections, rather than the pure foodie.   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I've never done sock dreams since I can't bear to spend that much on socks that I will probably wreck in a not-very-long time. I tend to be a barefooter, though in the winter my sub-zero feet are covered. I like soft slippers, smooshy socks etc., to protect me from my own feet. I do wear socks in my shoes in the winter, too, I just tend to get the cheapish dept store varieties that I don't feel guilty when they get holes in them.   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl I would, though for me a hooded cowl would be more practical. Any color that is not neon or pastel would be lovely.   talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Ground is more practical, though we do have a grinder. Leaded or unleaded are both fine--we drink caffeine early and decaf if we make a pot at night. Drip pot, though I do have a french press. Flavors are welcome, just not mint. (I have friends that love peppermint coffee at Christmas, I'm happy to have it once for the season. Much prefer spiced blends.) Oddly enough, though, this is a primarily tea household. Tea is always a winning thing, black, green, flavored black, herbal, chai (as long as it's not like ZOMGANISE flavored).   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Nothing in particular jumps out.   Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? Never tried anything of theirs. I can always use lotions in the winter, some of their non-baked-goods scents sounded nice...any of the citrus, tea, or things like black, black blood, the un-red   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I think I am quite possibly set for life on nail polish, though I am kind of curious about the crackle effect stuff.   If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Sentimental Initiation, The Butterfly, and an imp of Embalming Fluid     October 29th   So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? blackest black Almay mascara (it doesn't hurt my eyes, yay), haribo gold bears, a skor bar or a lindt white coconut, bobby pins, maybe a fancy hair thing   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it). I would walk in there and die. Seriously, holy crow. I am intrigued by the variety of cinnamons. As far as spices I think the list of no-likes would be more efficient: I don't cook with thyme, rosemary, fennel ever. Oh! If they have *ground* marjoram (quite literally powdered) that is one of the holy grails of cooking around here that is a beast to find.   Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)? No fiber sensitivities as long as it's soft. Nothing dryclean only please, but I have no problems handwashing and blocking something. Colors anything but pastels and neons--earth and jewel tones work best for me.   hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? I love mugs, especially big, handmade type ones. I posted a picture of my cherished clement clayworks tea mug in the thread.   Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? Nooshi rice cracker mix (it was like soy-sauce glazed, haven't found it in years), pretzels from these guys in pennsylvania http://www.uniquesplits.com/pretzels-splits.asp... I'm a food-and-drink lover, so I'd love to try any interesting regional things from my fox's area.

I liked Heroic Legend of Arislan, I've seen like the first few episodes of Martian Successor Nadeisico and I really wanted to actualy see what happened, lol. Also movies like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, etc. I generally prefer fantasy over sci-fi, though there are exceptions.   September 23rd   Is there anything you'd like from the Mütter Museum Store? never looked   I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? i have no knowledge of this place   what's your favorite kind of pizza?homemade with garlic, olive oil, cheese, fresh tomato, olives, maybe other veggies if i felt like it. for eating out pizza, a good handtossed crust, a tart, not overly herbed marinara, cheese, pepperoni, black olives.   who are your style/fashion icons? post pics if you want! that's pretty funny where i'm concerned   Are there any food items you're craving/aren't able to find around your area? milk and honees candy, a particular rice cracker mix, think it was called nooshi? had a lot of dark coated pieces in it, vienna fruit sticks.   September 22nd If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? i have nothing of this nature, but pockets on anything are generally win   Would you like a photo collage based around your interests/favorite colors/favorite themes? if it's something my witch likes to do, sure   If you're crafty, are you interested in spoonfeather? And if so, what things there delight your eyes? very cool but way too spendy to be bothered with   Colors! What are your favorite colors and what colors do you not like? Pictures and links, people! all shades of green with a preference toward darks, same with blues, i love earthtones, deep jewel tones. i love color. pastels are my nemesis.   What is your favorite word? pick one? pfft. my favorite swaer/substitute swear of late is 'monkeys!' no, i have no idea why What are the feelings on arm warmers? Color, style, texture, length?i tend to prefer the ones that go a few inches past my wrist. i usually wear long sleeves so i'd rather not fight with sleeves vs arm warmers, but my hands are always cold so i love fingerless glove type things Do you like tarts? tealights? jar candles? votives? vatives can be kind of messy, but anything else is fine   What's your favorite flavor? Sour, sweet, bitter, salty? bitter is not my favorite, but any of the rest are win   So, are there any online gaming witchees who covet purchasable in-game items or other gamer-y stuff? (yup, geek question) i love the pets in WoW, so i'd get a huge kick out of one of the purchasable pets (the only one i have is the moonkin hatchling)   Anyone doing anything cool for Mabon (or the start of fall, if you aren't pagan?I got a fresh bread ciabatta baked with hatch green chilies (a local harvest thing) for lunch, then sat outside with a pumpkin cider and my Kali in my garden, feeling blessed and peaceful.   What is your favorite coffee blend at Starbucks? If you don't have one, what is your favorite roast of coffee? i don't care for starbuck's coffee, i used to occasionally get espresso drinks but now i avoid milk mostly. years ago atlanta bread company had paul de lima's seattle roast coffee and that was heavenly, but honestly i'm content drinking yuban. <grin> after 30 years i guess you get used to the way something tastes.   September 21st Cthulhu: yay or nay? yay in an amused but mostly ignorant fashion   Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off?thinking on this   Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? And if you did (or plan to), you should share what you're gettingonly hypothetically.   Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! yes!   If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences?not scratchy, not pastel, other than that i would love any and all.   Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? i made a set for a halloween costume once, honestly wouldn't have much use for them...some kind of faerylike hairpiece or something i could rock though How do you feel about terrariums? love What's your favorite horror movie? i just don't do horror as a genre, so if i had to pick something considered a horror (ok, honestly, it's camp comedy at this point) something like the original gremlins or army of darkness   If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. I drink tea multiple times a day in cooler months, i could use a good natural face moisturizer because i go through that like crazy once the weather gets cold (we have like just-above-desert humidity here), i use chapstick all the freaking time (just no mint or petroleum types please)   Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? negative   I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? i'm a calligrapher, so i write down quotes all the time, i love this idea, and would love to get a witch's favorite creative or uplifting quote.   Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? i have a thing for antique office supplies--i have a purple remington of all things, i like oldfashioned or eccentric jewelry and such things.   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? I like a lot of the artwork, and i like the uniqueness of the storytelling format.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? ooo, decisions...actually that harvest peach sounds amazing... as far as custom, i've toyed with a Mojito-limeade x2, bluegrass, mint medley, maybe an earthy one with spice trade, redwoods, bonfire and either unearthed or incense, and then maybe a light citrus one like limeade, georgia peach, and a couple scoops of fresh squeezed citrus. (yes, i've played the smack forumalation game.   if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? In the thread I posted a nude angel by Jerry Uelsmann.   Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? i do the photography thing, so that's a little redundant, but anything else, hell yes. anything from soapmaking to yarn dyes, to basic spinning info to grown your own crystals kits.   What's 'your' song/your theme song? In the thread I went with Annie Lennox 'A thousand beautiful things' or AWOLNATION's 'jump on my shoulders'   What would be your superpower? I played a character once that was a projective empath, and I was somewhat envious of her.   Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? sure, i love the lab's babydoll t's, think the ones i have are xl's, the only bpal shirts i have are resurrection and carnaval diabolique   Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! I'm slightly sensitive to sulfur, so minimal amounts of things preserved thusly. no nut allergies, love dried fruit, fan of salty/sweet combo things   Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? i actually used to have a tattoo design i was fiddling with as a charm anklet. the things that ended up on it were pieces of nature and things that represented my family, loved ones, and things that were important to me.   September 20th Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. I actually got the basic 5 piece bamboo set of these and love them. I could use a kabuki or powder brush for applying powder foundation though, mine's about seen the end of days.   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? i do, and haven't played with legos in probably 20 years at least.   Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Sentimental Initiation, Embalming Fluid (it's what hooked me on bpal and I've never actually gotten a bottle), imps of Hollywood Babylon, Jack, Jersey Devil...and i think I just spent $49.50   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? character i love: first that comes to mind is Aerin from Robin McKinley's Hero and the Crown, which was my first fantasy book (it pretty much has no spine left at this point), character i both love and relate to: Hermione   A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? I plan things out in my head a lot first, and then usually what i end up with is not what i saw. my drawing style is very kind of loose and fluid, even my Illustrator projects tend to look more like charcoal than computer illustrations.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE?Hobbedy's Lantern sounds lovely, maybe Comfort me with apples, or Sleepy Hollow, but i've never tried their perfumes and have no idea if they'd behave or not.The soaps would probably be nice though. =) I'm actually tremendously tempted by Puppy Kisses that I saw on soapboxco's site. I had a sample of the huntress soap at one point, and that was really pretty. Sunflower's lament and vimpire's garden sound interesting too. Bah, these are not weenies, whatever. =)   So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I'd love to meet my witch, meeting somewhere would probably be better due to house disaster, crotchety dog, etc. As kaki mentioned, there are some awesome breweries here, plus coffeeshops and other fun stuff.   September 19th What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: lemme ponder this   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? this sounds really cool, and i'm not as concerned with what's in it as i am about getting it off my nails later. i love frost/glittery stuff, and basically anything but pink.   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I live in the land of no humidity, therefore I have at least 5 in rotation at once, so I always have one on me. Tubes are best, but I'll use anything. I'm not a big fan of mint since it sticks with you FOREVER, and I think I'd prefer to stay away from any of the weird savory flavors I've seen on websites (cheese pizza lipbalm? srsly?), but otherwise I'm pretty open. I think currently I have citrus, coconut, cherry vanilla, and cappucino lip balms in circulation.   September 18th Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I wear a lot of t-shirts, I would love a witch-designed shirt, and I do everything from plain t-shirts to barely appropriate commentary shirts and whatever interesting graphics. I think the only things I wouldn't care for on a shirt are political or christian themes, which i can't see being an issue in SW anyway. Oh, yeah, I tend to wear babydoll tees mostly, L or XL depending on the stretchiness of the fabric.   How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc.... *thumbs up*   Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin?I do love them. Some of my favorites they have up currently are 'dance the sacred path' 'she blessed the moon' 'wishes sprout in faery ground' 'she learned a shining language' 'i am a sea pilgrim'   If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. I love just getting random stuff from faraway places. I've been really fortunate to get bits of things from Europe and Australia in other swaps, and mimosa sent me a lovely assortment of things from the British Isles in the getaway swap. I can't think of anything specific, just love getting bits of the rest of the world since I don't get to travel much.     SOCK PREFERENCES?   Would you like/wear a pair of these? http://www.ravelry.c...rary/yoga-socks If so, what color? definitely, and anything not pastel. =)   Is there anyone here who likes toe socks? You know, those socks with a place for each toe?   September 17th   Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? Honestly? I would love to pick up a bit of bollywood. I'm totally hooked on the music and we've watched some clips with my belly dance troupe, and it's a hoot.   Does anyone like postcards? Is anyone willing to be a Nacho witch for postcards? Love to get, happy to send out.   Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? I just got to see a flamenco show last weekend, that's probably the extent of it though.   Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? yes! fave series were TNG and DS9, and I loved the newer 'classic' movie. Favorite characters...that's tough. Picard and Data(TNG), Garak (DS9), Scottie (both the original and Simon Pegg's version), Spock   Witchee, would you like a framed photograph and of what? Or a not-framed and I can frame it if you're worried about glass. =) I love photography, black and white holds a special place in my heart. I love nature stuff and macro work especially, but photos in general are win.     September 16th   Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? I love to cook, and although I can't think of anything specific, my witch's favorite recipes (if s/he cooks) would be brilliant.   New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? i'm in the 'like' crowd   How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) i love this idea   Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? I can cheerfully forget that episodes 1-3 exist, but I did like the originals, and I think my brother and I wore out the tape of the first Ewok movie. I like the Ewoks, darn it. And R2 =)   Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene)- I like jerky, and both styles. I'm just not a huge fan of the coated-in-pepper stuff.   Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. I am far from a prude, and I don't check email at school or work, so it's all good.   Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) Yea, though I have not watched nearly as much of it as I'd like.   I have a couple spare Doctor Who stickers. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? I never actually use stickers because I never know what to stick them on that I'll have for a long time that will stay nice. *sheepish*   Anyone love Buffy/Angel?Not me, thanks.   How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? I adore gummie candies of all kinds. Haribo gold bears are my standard WoW raiding snack of choice.   How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? I don't actually know what this is...I has no laptop, no iPod, no iPhone...I do have a slide-out-keyboard monstrosity of a phone, but since I'm constantly dropping it/dinging it up, anything pretty on it seems kind of pointless.   Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? I like dark, but not gorefest kind of stuff. Haunting.   Are your ears pierced, Witchee? Do you have any other piercings? Would you like to receive any items of jewelry for these piercings? My ears are pierced, 2 holes left, 1 right, just normal sized holes, no gauges. I wear studs or chained ear cuffs (pierced earring connected by a chain to an ear cuff, in some cases abounding with extra chains and sparklies) in the odd piercing, and generally fishhooks and dangly earrings in the other two. Big, attention grabbing earrings are also total win for dance costuming. I love sparkly chandelier type things.   How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? Like them, made them once which was a hilarious mess but they were quite tasty. Especially the vanilla-cardomom filling ones.   September 15th   interested in anything from Lush? I am a lush noob, I'll have to look and edit this.   Do you blog? Would you like a header for your blog, a layout, etc? I don't blog yet, and I'm in school for graphic design and web development so I think I'm ok on this one. =)   Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? Sure, or flag tag type page markers.   do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? would you want to get some from your witch / nacho witch? yup.   How would you feel about receiving a Groupon deal for something in your local area? If there is anything you WOULDN'T like, mention that also. I wouldn't know what goes on in Fort Collins that I'd do...restaurants and stuff maybe. (I mostly see groupons come in for the cleaners where I work, lol) Probably best to ask if you have something specific in mind.   do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? As my birthday is El Dia de los Muertos, it would be silly for me not to like sugar skulls. *grin* I'm not fanatical about collecting them, but I do like the theme.   Who here adores meringue? the crunchy type ones i like.   September 14th Oh! Random stuff:   Things like Cuervo's possibly including a book of her poetry would be loved, or anything my witch has done, whether a book, an art print, anything like that.   Also, finally an answer to the over/under $10 thing, and actually it works for either. Bindis! I've been belly dancing for 2 years and I do not have any such beasties.   Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? not even remotely. How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? could do! my favorites are irish whiskey and butterscotch schnapps (not together), but basically anything but tequila and plain vodka would be enjoyed.   What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) my views can be summed up as YESPLZ =)   Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? love it. i haven't tried all that many, but of what i have, black sesame is my favorite. and green tea icecream mochi, but i can't image those would apply to SW   Anything from the update ya'll are liking? BPTP UPDATE the atmo sprays sound interesting, the Samhain and Steuobsweise (howevertheheck it's spelled) both sound lovely, Fruitbat bath oil, Crypt King, and the bath brews crack me up--howlet's wing, eye of newt, lemurian seaweed, and tears all sound interesting--nothing i'll actually buy this time 'round, but i wouldn't mind getting to sniff a sample. =)   Does anyone like kimchi? the one time i had it, i did like it pretty well.   Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? neat idea, but given how wonky my skin is, probably not the best idea for me. if my witch were to put together something with samples of some of her favorite products, or if there's a natural stuff version of this somewhere, that would be a better option.   You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? about half the trading post weenies, the skellie t-shirt and probably the generic lunacy t, maybe the weenie t...Ugh massage oil, the RPG atmo sprays. From the Lab, backups of Aureus and The Butterfly, Prince Lir, the few weenies that sounded like they'd work, the rpg line (I have and love elf, ranger, half elf, and have imps of rogue, neutral, good, chaotic, lawful, so i'm dreadfully nosy about the rest), curious about avenger and harlequin from Grendel...probably half my wishlist just to try things.   Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? <3 her stuff. the moundshroud strikes my interest, and this incarnation of indian summer. in general i just love her stuff (i am hoping that Yuletide Mariner makes a reappearance this year)   Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes No sports, but I'm always interested in good dance videos. Find some neat tribal bellydance stuff somewhere on the interwebs? Pass it on, I will be ecstatic. =)   How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? I adore writing stuff-my only particular preference is for unlined or narrow-ruled paper.   Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? dismayed glee? i don't mind trailing glitter behind me. *grin*   Fabulous witches and witchees, perhaps you all could note of you've received MeiLin's goodies? Or if you want? I have a hardbound copy of Lovers and Beloveds and have read the short story. That, sadly, is all I have.   How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? I actually do love stuffed animals, and any animal would be cherished. i have everything from standard bears to a plush scorpion, so anything goes as long as it's soft and pet-able.   how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Like these that I did? i love the idea     September 13th   How would you feel about kitchen towels and other similar household objects, if they are pretty or a souvenir? i like the idea, but kitchen towels and suchlike wouldn't really see much use, we tend to use the plain beat-up-and-don't-feel-bad type of household stuff   How did you dress up for your last party or compulsory-formal-dress occasion? since this was last week, i actually have an answer! (grownup clothes! yay!) Knee-length cap sleeve black dress, closed-toed black shoes, a lovely handmade lace shawl from a good friend of mine, some pretty bits of jewelry.   Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) i love problemsolving, so yeah   Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? absolutely!       September 12th   Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? not a big ebook person since i don't have a reader and spend too much time in front of a computer as is. books (esp used books) are awesome though.   If you have kids, would you be interested in getting things for them? And if so, what are they interested and what sizes are the wearing now? no kiddos here   Would you be interested in a felted handbag? Do any of these styles appeal to you? http://tinyurl.com/3o2epzl (there's at least one guy-friendly style, too!) I'm not so much a handbag person. I occasionally carry a purse if I have to, but it's such a rare thing I can't say I need one. What I could use is a good-sized dance bag if anyone has such a thing or is a crafty sewing person with some scrap fabric around--I'm currently lugging my dance gear in a backpack that's crammed to the gills.   Are there are patterns, motifs, etc that you especially like? I've been really drawn to floral stuff lately, especially leaves, trees, vines, nothing particularly ornate. spirals and knotwork are also loves.     If you're a tea drinker, is there any specific tea you would like to receive, not just the kind/flavor but also the type/packing--i.e., tea bags, loose tea, compressed, etc? I use both loose and bagged (never had compressed). As far as flavor, I drink a bit of everything, probably lean toward good black tea more than anything, but i also drink green (and genmaicha!), and herbal teas.   September 11th   I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! For instance, I'm a little squicked by used clothing, but I don't mind any other used goods (i.e. books, glassware, games, DVDs, whatever.) bring it on! undergarmenty clothes and shoes would be the only things i'd steer away from.   Do you have an Etsy shop? Do you know of any Etsy shops that are Switch Witch friendly? i don't yet--it's on my to-do list. i think the only shops i know of are ones that have already been mentioned...stardust, joystreet, paintbox...   Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? I am mostly neutral on this I think. There are disney things I adore, and others that are just meh.   what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? those caramel apple pops that i think it was stellans who enabled us all with last year. i have a sweet tooth, so i will tend to graze whatever candy though.   Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. soap. largely because i'm sensitive to both sulfates and a lot of perfumy stuff,. i used to use the occasional shower gel (bamboo birch was the scent, think from giovanni?), most of my soap lately has been paintbox (i stay away from purely florals and foodies, but love everything else she makes), villainess (so far my favorites have been frostbite from last winter, byzantium, and maybe asphyxiate?), and chagrin valley (none of her stuff is that heavily scented, but i do adore the fragrance of the cafe moreno hair bar)   How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? not a huge fan of mint, otherwise i'm not picky =)   Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? i love beads, generally stone, glass, ceramic, interesting wood beads, etc. i'll find something to do with about anything.   Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! *flailing muppet arms* caramel is hands down my favorite sweet. i always look at places like fusionsweets and make hypothetical orders.     Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? bold colors, earthtones, greens, blues...basically just no pastels and i'm thrilled, fabric--anything that's soft and preferably machine or hand washable.   This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? yes!   And another question; anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek?     September 10th   What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? I don't think I'm particularly obsessed with anything. The closest I come is with books. I have every one of Nalini Singh's psy-changeling and guild hunter books to date, I'm bouncing up and down waiting for the next Olympians book from Rick Riordan...yeah, that's really about as far as my obsessing goes.   are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? they all actually sound gorgeous   If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? Kali has weird allergy issues (including poultry of all kinds) so treats are iffy, she does however adore stuffed toys to play with, and if they make noise she's even happier.   What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? *pondering*   Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? at the moment subject matter is eluding me, but probably no bigger than 16x20-ish.   If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? very fair with tawny undertone (yellow/gold rather than pink), hair is naturally brown/grey, henna'd dark auburn. because my skin's so wonky i stick to mineral makeup and suchlike. i'm still looking for the perfect moisturizer.   Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? I enjoy both, always open to trying different things.   Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) i have some stuff running around on my amazon wishlist (think it's under graphicsting at gmail), mp3 or cd is fine.   Are you going away for any part of this round? Not for more than a day trip.   Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? yep!   If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? sure! i love travel-y things   Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? I like walking and hiking, messing in my garden, charging around with a camera. My favorite exercise is dance, hands down.   Any witchee's with a ravelry account have any favourited patterns that cost money that would be a welcome gift? i have a few lace shawls that i would love to get eventually--the garden path shawl, gathering leaves, wings of the valkyrie, the midsummer's dream cami is on my to-do list too. or anything my witch thinks i would like to crochet, surprises are always fun!   Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? I am basically chained to my desk currently. I'd love a good book/page holder-upper if anyone knows of one. I love office supplies in general, but I like practical, or quirky or animal cute--I'm not very girly-cute oriented.   Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? The only ones I've really heard/seen are Phantom of the Opera, most of which I can still sing by heart, Les Mis, Rent (have soundtracks to all of the above). I can't say I'm really familiar with any newer theatre.     September 9th   Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? I do like to, just don't do it very often. I like earthy/spice/resin scents more than florals I think, though I'm open to trying stuff. Never had the incense, but I had a nag champa fragrance oil that I was fond of.   - Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? Not as rabid as some people, but I adore the books. House-wise I'm kind of straddling the line between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff   - If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Any online shop I frequent, something like Hobby Lobby or Michael's would be gleefully used.   Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? As a collection, I've always been a Greek mythology nerd. Past that I'd have to contemplate.   September 8th From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? Autumn Cider, Elegy, La Calavera, Mictecacihuatl, October, Samhain, Silver Apple, Golden Apple   Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? love it, my nails are usually painted, and i think i have almost every color of that Sinful Colors stuff that Walgreens carries, along with a few others (frosts>creams). I'm not sure what I'd be looking for, maybe a nice warm-ish earthtone.   Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? I have pages of notable quotes that i keep both just to read and to use for calligraphy pieces. i'd much rather get someone else's favorites to add to my collection. =) Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... This varies seasonally. My favorite candle scents tend to be foodie or fruit. Or the ones that smell like real christmas trees (yankee's mistletoe and woodwick's mistletoe magic I think it's called are a couple of great ones just for anyone's reference). jars and tarts are my favorite candle formats, and i do have a fondness for woodwicks because i love that crackling fire noise.   Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? BWAHAHAHAHAHA. erm, yes. and other than undergarments, anything would be welcome. as for colors, pastels bad, anything else wonderful. Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? Non-sweets works! I dunno about specifics...snack-type things that I can keep on my desk to munch while I'm working would be cool.   What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? I'll have to ponder this. Last spring prior to a state of broke, I picked up a bunch of bottle wishes. Yo, yarnies! Do you Ravelry? If so, who are you over thar? I'm firechild on rav. I suck at keeping up with my gallery, but I like to browse patterns and be nosy about what other people are making. Social Media? Facebook is about where I draw the line. I think all my details are turned private so your best bet to find me is the GUSP group.   Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? And if so, could you provide a link or a list? I have loads of stuff favorited on etsy if anyone wants a crafty reference, I have kind of an anemic and mostly music related wishlist on amazon.   Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? PC. Also, I have a Creative mp3 player. I have to use a Mac at school since that's what's in the graphics lab, and I tolerate it, but anywhere I have control of my computing schtuff, DO NOT WANT. I am the anti-mac, and I despise the iEverything nonsense. If other people want to go that route, fine, bless you, I'm not going to computer evangelize, I just want no part of it. What is your favorite animal? It varies pretty significantly. Foxes, hummingbirds, frogs, wolves, big cats, chipmunks...so maybe the answer is just yes. =P   What are you going to be for Halloween? Probably not a whole lot of anything. I think I work and have school that day, so I'll possibly just snag the more durable parts of my costuming and do something a bit gypsy/belly dancer.   If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) I'm in a flora mode currently. Plants, trees, flowers, etc. Any of these would make me a happy camper.   How do you feel about nick-knacks? Packrat, thy name is skye... What traditions (family, holiday, or otherwise) are important to you? A lot of my family's traditions belong to the christmas season. I have to have a living tree of some kind, and the food traditions are something I get really twitchy about. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are always fancy finger food stuff, and Christmas dinner is always standing rib roast with horseradish sauce and yorkshire pudding. I think part of that is because it was always tradition when I was growing up, but also because cooking those meals was what my Dad did, so I really feel like keeping that keeps him a part of things.   Other than that, my family's pretty tradition-light honestly. Hmm.   Do you like going to the movies? Don't go very often, but I do enjoy it as a treat out for special occasions or movies that really lend themselves to big screen viewing. Haven't been to the theater since June, actually. What are your favorite restaurants? I don't get to eat out much these days. My favorite place out here hands down is a place called Chili House, which is kind of pan-asian. We also have a good Mexican restaurant, and just discovered a wonderful little Mediterrean cafe last night. Yay for gyros and baklava! Do you play any video games? yup! I am a Wow geek. I've also been known to play other rpgs, I loved the old school final fantasy games (up through about 10, I think) and other console rpgs, things like Heroes3, Dragon Age (haven't finished it, don't have the second). I never did get to play The Longest Journey, hoepfully some day I get to do that. Oh, my mom and I also play old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo games like Tetris II and Bubble Bobble. Do you like any anime? honestly i haven't seen any in years. i adored record of lodoss war, which i guess would fall under that category, but i'm so far out of that loop. Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? newp.   how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? *wild cackle* bring it.   How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? LOVE recipes. No particular dietary restrictions, but I'd love to collect more vegetarian/vegan recipes.     Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? storage is always welcome. if I don't need it for smellies, I'm sur eI have something else that needs a home.   Muppets: yea or nay? yea. i watch the muppet version of bohemian rhapsody every time i need to laugh   Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? calvin and hobbes was always a favorite, i think i have most if not all of the compilation books   Favorite Mythological Creature?: judging by the number that inhabit my house, i'd have to say dragons. i have an odd fascination with winged things in general though--gargoyles, angels, my winged spirit wolf in my bedroom...   Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers:   Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now?? barrettes, flowers, hair ties are all complete win. i like the big embellishments since even if i can't use them on a daily basis, they're awesome for dance.

SW summer 13

I know Canadian chips can be different than others, how does "dill pickle" or "ketchup" sound?   If you were getting a custom Haus of Gloi blend, what four notes would you choose? Summer notes listed here and you can click through to the whole list from there. http://www.hausofglo...er-single-notes   QUESTION! Do you like Kickstarter? Are there any projects up that you really like?   QUESTION! If you have an Etsy wishlist, what are your top 5 favorite things on there? The price is unimportant, not because I'm rich, but because I'd like some inspiration.   Festival this week -- includes an "encampment" and an art faire. any interest in trinkety things from the encampment or cards/prints from local artists   How do you feel about glitter? does loose glitter make your skin crawl or would you bathe in it?   Do you want/need/like/collect journals? If so, do you prefer lined or unlined?   Does the idea of wearing a plant as jewelery give you the warm fuzzies or the heebie jeebies?   Gourmet popcorn, yes/no? What do you like: glazed, savory, candied? Nuts or not? Any flavors you wouldn't like (like Bacon CHeeseburger, Pizza, Watermelon, Root Beer Float, Hot Chili Dark Chocolate)? Or if any of those sounded interesting, how weird is weird enough?   Question: I make my own hair gloss, would you like some detangling and very shiny hair gloss made by me? This is a 'cone rich blend, not the least bit natural.     Thursday June 27/13   I live near the Brown and Haley outlet - makers of Almond Roca and Mountain Bars - would you want anything from the outlet? For nut-haters, they have nutless Roca For the no-sugar folks they have sugar-free as well. No thanks.   I also have an Oberto jerky outlet local to me - any wants there? My beloved is a jerky fiend. I like it as well, but not nearly as much as he does.   How do you feel about home-canned goods? I'm ok with this! Pickles and preserves especially.   Do you like BPTP clothing? What size do you wear of: Yes, and babydoll: XL, or I can get away with L. I don't care for tissue t's, or really standard t's. yoga pants would be probably L or XL.   Also, what is your favorite lunacy (or non-lunacy) T-shirt that you don't already own? Or other clothes from BPTP? I'm not fond of the Demon of Vanity or funeral procession, or the cupcake designs, but any of the others would be cool. The skelly librarian (no longer avail per Puddin' when I did try to get it), and Lupercalia are probably my faves on the website currently. I already own the Carnaval Diabolique, Resurrection, and A Little Lunacy t's.   What else do you love from the Trading Post site, and need to have? Asterias bath oil sounded promising. I definitely would love a second bottle of Implacable Beautiful Tyrant gloss if it's still available.   Is there a particular movie genre that you like (Fantasy? Drama? Romantic Comedy? Musicals? TV-Series, etc), and what format would you prefer: DVD, Blu-Ray, or something in the cloud (like Amazon, iTunes, Flixster, etc)? DVD for sure on format. Fantasy and sci-fi tend to be my default genres. I like some musicals, and I would love to start accumulating more classic movies.   -Following up on the Adagio question from earlier, what are you top five wishes, for teas and blends? If anyone sees Zhena's Gypsy Tea Sense of Peace or can dupe it, that would top my wishlist (white tea with rose and mint ) I have a wishlist for adagio with some ideas on it. And my absolute favorite tea is Numi Organic Tea's Chinese Breakfast. Always happy to get that. Also, Bewley's tea, because sometimes I just want blacker-that-the-pit-of-doom strong tea.   -Do you have anything that you do ritually, every summer? garden, chase midsummer bonfires in WoW, watch the meteor shower in august.   -What are your top five wishes from ThinkGeek? mostly ladies' T's: photosynthesis, the van gogh or nyan tardis, stand back i'm going to try science, social interaction...so many fun shirts. You have to watch to the very end, too.   Also, this one. For different reasons. Stunt riding is kind of dear to my heart because my brother used ride when we were in high school, and I was a photographer, so I turned into a skatepark rat. (I never rode, tried rollerblading and broke my tailbone, so I stuck to taking pictures of it all and going to comps to watch the people that were actually good that this stuff)   Do you like audiobooks? If so, do you have/would you like to try Audible? (I'm an addict, myself.) I like audiobooks. I downloaded a freebie on audible once but haven't actually used it.   Chocolate: Love? Hate? Allergic? If love, what are your faves? Chocolate is a good thing. Dark chocolate and white chocolate are preferred. I'm good with added in stuff, think I would pass on the bacon chocolate and such though.     Wednesday June 26/13 Do you have any long trips coming up? If so, could you use things to occupy yourself? Going out of town for 3 days next weekend, but mostly I entertain myself with yarn, music, studying, and a book if I have one.   I'm going to Jungle Jim's next week (it's basically a massive international food gasm in Ohio, look it up); would anything interest you?Did you say food?? Spices, interesting candies (I have an unholy addiction to haribo fruit salad), European chocolate like Ritter, boiled mints and fruit candies (Fox's I think?), cooking stuff. Because I would love the hell out of some of them.   Name three things that you could use, but might not necessarily think to get for yourself?   Does anything from the TP Etsy update interest you? wishlisted   I just found out Oreo is launching ones with watermelon flavor in the USA only. Is it something you would enjoy? i'm just not seeing watermelon and chocolate. when they had the strawberry icecream flavor, that seemed interesting     If you don't consider yourself in a "fandom" (and I get that ... I don't really go overboard on my liking of any TV show/Movie/etc), are there any TV shows or Movies that you really like and/or watch regularly or any actors/actresses you wouldn't leave standing in the rain (unless you like looking at them sopping wet, in which case ... well, nevermind)? I'd actually love to get previous seasons of Warehouse 13 since I only just started watching in order this season. So, dear witchee, would you like some Tw*twaffle soap or scent or lotion? soap. I love the idea but it would probably be too strong for anything but soap.   Has anyone asked about tattoos? Do you love them? Hate them? Have any? Want any? Have, no. Want, yes. Just one though.     Tuesday June 25/13   What are the three BPALs you would most like to receive - one GC, one not-hard to find LE, and one HTF LE from your dreams? Is there anything from the Oddment Emporium you would like?   What is your favorite color? it varies. honestly, anything in blues, greens, earths, or jewel tones will be a winner. i like color.   What is your favorite season? probably autumn, but honestly i love things about all of them, I like the changes   If you could live anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would it be? Either Ireland or the Pacific northwest, on about 10-20 acres, in an off-the-grid earthship type house.     Monday June 24/13   Do you have any symbols or totems that are meaningful to you?   When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? Play really loud music and dance, sit in my garden with a cup of tea. I desperately want to say snuggle with my puppydog, but she passed in February and thinking about curling up around her right now just makes me ache.   Would you like if your witch sent a regional pop/soda? If so, what type (Root beer, creme soda, cola, citrus-flavored, chocolate-flavored, etc...)? I'm not sure about chocolate soda, but anything else sounds interesting...fruit, creamsoda, root beer, ginger...I don't drink much soda, but I enjoy the non-standard flavors the most.   Ninjas or Pirates? Werewolves or vampires? Zombie or Cthulhu? pfft. Honestly I don't have much preference. I don't care for the zombie craze though. Except for Shaun of the Dead. Love (and own) that movie. Cthulu is cool at least.   Do you want to receive one big package or a bunch of small ones? Digital stuff all at the end when the box should arrive or as we go? Entirely my witch's preference   Do you welcome knitted items? If so, what would you like most? (amigurumi, washcloth, socks, shawl, shawlette, scarf, wrist warmers, hat, etc.) Do you have any favorite fibers? How about any fiber allergies? Favorite color for knitted items? Bring it! I love other people's crafts. I don't actually own any knitted socks or slippers, or any critters, but I'd welcome whatever. Knitted wearables I'd prefer not pastels but otherwise anything goes. I keep being told I look good in blues and purples. No fiber allergies. I love soft, pettable things, my favorite thing of my own is a shawl made of baby alpaca, but I'm totally not a fiber snob, a nice soft acrylic yarn is as welcome as a fancy fiber yarn here.   Sunday June 23/13 Is there a Quote that resonates with you, or that you particularly like a lot. Would this be something you would like artwork made of for your walls or a shirt/bag/scarf? I could list tons. Two lately from AWOLNATION lyrics:   Dance, baby, dance like the world is ending. Never let your fear decide your fate. (this is particularly powerful for me)   Other quotes I love:   'Living is not enough...one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.' -Hans Christian Andersen   'the miracle is not to walk on the water or fly in the sky, but to walk on the earth.' -chinese proverb   'The universe starts out with a tap to the shoulder. If you ignore it, then it moves on to the boot to the head.' -Alesia   'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.' Oscar Wilde   'Anyway, if you stopped tellin' people it's all sorted out after they're dead, they might try sorting it all out while they're alive.' -Adam Young (Good Omens, Pratchett/Gaiman)   'if you can't be a good example, be a dire warning'   Also, STARBUCKS, Yay or Nay? Anything you particularly like? Not particularly? I used to get hazelnut hot chocolate or the caramel apple cider once in a while.   Is there someone on the forums (within SW or not) who knows you really well and might be able to help with stalking? arlith! also witchbaby43 and girasol know me passably well.   If you happen to find out who yours is, how much would it bother you? who my witch is? Wouldn't bother me at all. I've had witches that were sneaky to the end, ones that i've guessed, and ones that didn't even bother with secrecy, and they've all been lovely.   Do you use waxmelts or tarts? If so, which ones do you prefer? I'm fine with whatever, prefer fruits, pine, citrusy, or clean smells.   Do you enjoy drinking hot chocolate, and would you like stuff to make it with, or to add to it? sure. I do enjoy hot chocolate in the winter. Have you ever tried Spoonfudge? Would you enjoy it if your Witch would send you some? Which of the flavors would you like? never tried it, but as someone who will eat nutella out of the jar, i'd be down with trying some. flavor-wise, nothing with mint or peanut butter, otherwise i'm open to surprises.   What's your opinion on Moonalisa? Any favorites or products you'd like to try? I have no experience, therefore no opinion.   Are there any BPALs that you loved the idea of, the imagery - whether artwork or description - but which didn't work out for you? (I'm asking because if they did, you might mention them elsewhere, but if not, the imagery might be helpful)   Sorry I missed yesterday, here are the questions: Saturday June 22/13   Put your mp3 player/online music/itunes/etc on random and list the next 10 songs here:   what is your favourite object, that you own, ignoring sentimental reasons for attachment? So I guess something you find beautiful, or fun, or incredibly useful.   How big is too big...for something to hang on your walls? If I'm painting you a pretty picture, are there maximum dimensions that you have/prefer? I don't have a ton of wallspace, so probably nothing that would frame out to bigger than 16x20. And I have no problem finding frames, so unless you really want to frame something, please spare yourself the shipping hassle. Gift cards/vouchers - yay or nay? If you like them - which stores would you like one for?   Is there anything from Australia you would like? eg: snacks (yes, you can ask for Tim Tams!), books, magazines, memorabilia?   Do you have any problems with swearing or particularly off-color humor? Bring it on. As long as it's not racist or promoting violence, I'm good.   What style is your sense of humour? I love wordplay and clever humor, sarcasm, the dry British wit, good clean silliness. Some favorite comedians are Victor Borge, George Carlin, Bill Cosby, old skits like Abbot and Costello. Not a fan of stupid college humor like Road Trip, Eurotrip, all that nonsense.   Opinions on table top games, from cards and board games, to dice and rpgs. What do you like? What don't you like? Favorites? Any classics you like? Do you collect any? I love things like Boggle, Scattergories, Pictionary, jigsaw puzzles, Triominoes. I like thinking games, and cooperative type things. Stuff like monopoly I do not enjoy at all. I'm curious about cards against humanity. I used to watch DnD games, played a little bit of Vampire, but I don't actively game (sadly). Most of my rpg'ing is computer based.   What would you like from the most recent BPAL update? What are you planning on buying for yourself and what would you like to try?   Is there a literary character you identify with? Even if it's not spot-on, just someone you found yourself having that "I identify with this" feeling?   What are the three books you most want to read right now, and which you don't already have?   Would you like something from Empire Edibles? (http://www.etsy.com/...s?ref=top_trail)   Is there anything small you try to collect from everywhere you visit? Generally postcards, or a little piece of jewelry. Lots of photographs.   Witchee, I know that SW isn't about what you get... but could you name one thing you would be heartbroken not to get and one thing you would be a-ok if it didn't make it in your box? (i.e. do you REALLY want perfume oil of some sort, or would you be totally heartbroken if there was no Lush in your box, etc Something personal to my witch, whether a favorite something (book, music, etc.) or just a letter or something.   Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? As a rank amateur to all of the above, anything!   What fandoms do you belong to?   What cheers you up? critters, my garden, random hugs from my boyfriend   Who or where would you most want to haunt? Who would you least want to be haunted by?   What question do you hate to answer?   What is the best compliment you have/could receive?   Would you like anything from an European country? Any particular food or goodies, magazines, books, whatever would be available to your witch in his/her country.   Do you like bags? If so, what type (rucksack, clutch, shopping bag) colour and would you like/need a new one?   What's your favourite comfort food(snack or candy etc) and/or drink?   Would you be interested in someone writing out for you a favourite recipe, or finding or devising one which they think you'd like? If so, please provide your favourite ingredients, info on how you like to cook/store and use food, and any intolerances - unless all of these are in your questionnaire, or you don't like the idea. (I'm not saying I'd definitely do this, unless someone is keen, and it wouldn't be the only gift). I guess for other witches this might include something like a knitting pattern - not my thing but would you like that? Or indeed would you like a picture created for you (if so what kind) or a story written? (sorry if this feels a bit Spanish Inquisition!)   If you knew you were going to live comfortably for say 800 years, what profession, calling or project might you pursue with some of your extra years, which you imagine you may not do in the life that you have?   Is there any thing - an object, a donation on your behalf, some research done for you, whatever - that your witch could do about this that you would like? And if you can't think of a present, would you rather she/he (I!) didn't either and confined themselves to things you are already involved in?   What colors/style is your kitchen decor? And do you entertain in your home?   Are your ears pierced?   Do you like stuffies/stuffed animals/art doll type thingies? If so, any particular type you'd love to get?   Switch Witch is, of course, all about you.....but if your Witch was so inclined, are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!?     Thursday June 20/13   Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are   How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)?   If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average?   Haus of Gloi did a Reverie update! Do any of them interest you? (Or anything else up currently?)   Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure?   Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both?   Wednesday June 19/13   If you could have one rare bpal which one would you choose? Darkling Thrush sounded gorgeous but I was way too late to join the addiction to get to try that.   (Feel free not to answer, I know it's not a standard one!) Are you kinky? Not particularly? I had a boyfriend that was and there are some not-so-great memories there since I don't think he really went about it in a good way.   Do you enjoy scented candles? Certain sizes that you like? What kind of scents or brands? I do like scented candles, mostly citrus/fruit/herb/woods scents (not all in the same blend), some foodie scents are cool, too. I got some wax melts from Two Timing Tart in a recent swap that I really enjoy (Silk Sheets and Experiment #2). Most of my other candles have been Yankee, Woodwick, Colonial, stuff that I can find locally.   Thoughts about South Africa? Have you been here, would you like to go? Would you like to receive anything South African? Have not been, but I love seeing things from different places, even postcards and such are awesome. I have a little ceramic teabag holder from a dear former witch that I think is tremendously cool from there.   Do you like Sockdreams? If so, what styles would you prefer? (You can also link your wishlist.) I am kind of the anti-sock--they only get worn in winter when I have to. I do like fun quirky socks then though. Shorter ones though--anklets, boot socks, etc. I do not do knee or higher socks, and please, dear gods, no toe socks.   Do you need hair accessories? If so, what kind or color? kerchiefs are fun, hair clips are good, silk flower type things for dance costuming, fun barettes...I'm trying to grow my hair out but it's sadly not long enough for chopsticks or anything like that yet.   What is your favorite shade of blue? No pastel? Seriously, I love most shades, dark, saturated, jewel tones, slate or teal, whatever. I just don't really care for washed-out colors.   Do you have any kitchen gadgets (a SodaStream, a Kuerig/Tassimo) that you want mix things for? newp   If you were to start learning something new (intellectual or craft or hobby), what would it be? a new language, maybe learn how to knit productively, carpentry, welding, less-haphazard gardening...   What about candy? Do you have a sweet tooth? Yup. And what sweet tooth I don't have, the beloved makes up for.   Do you have an e-reader? What kind? Would you like to get ebooks? Negative. I have an e-reaer program on my computer, but I mostly do normal books.   If your witch is an extremely crafty sort, and she were to send all kinds of homemade foody goodies and handmade crafty stuff - what are items you would NOT LOVE to receive. Please dont hedge on this one...some of us are serious crafters and will be making most of what we send! If I think of anything on this one, I will get back to you. Practical items are better than a boatload of purely decorative, but otherwise I can't think of anything.   Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I love video games, mostly I play World of Warcraft or old Nintendo (orig and super) and PS/PS2 games. I used to love the Final Fantasy games, too, but I think I have all the ones I'd want to play. If anyone has a copy of Dragon Warrior 7 for the playstation though that they don't want, I would love that--I lost mine when I moved and never got to finish it. Sad Panda.   Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. )   Do you wear nailpolish? What colors do you tend to go for? What are your favorite brands? Are you open to trying indie brands? I do wear it, and have a ton of cheap stuff. I much prefer frosts/metallics to creme or matte polishes, glitters are sometimes things, not big on pinks, or yellows.   Name three BPAL scents you have tried, but are dying to get more of. Secret Lovers and Sleeping Husband comes to mind, otherwise have to think about that.     Do you still write real letters on nice stationary to people you like/love? I does!   Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? Would love to try her hot process soaps, and some of the other moisurizers (only tried slip so far), shaving soap, and scent balm; some favorite (the first 3)and wanted-to-try scents include Olive Tree, Sweet 100s, Yuletide Mariner (out of season obviously), Kid A, Halcyon, Bramble and Apple, Mandinka, The Englishman, The Natural, Go Green, The Crofter's Bar.   Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? Herbs, some strawberries, flowers, tomatoes, rosebushes, catnip. I have limited space but I do love my plants.   Do you like sample sized things? Think lipgloss, mascara, bodylotion, scrubs, mini candles, and so forth. Samples are good! Samples with info on where to get more are better.   Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? Their website is actually impossible to look at on my computer, so I can offer no opinions.   Do you use solid soaps at all? If so, what kind do or don't you like? Exclusively. I don't do bodywashes at all. I like Chagrin Valley a lot, and I'd be interested to try the soaps from Long Winter Farm and some of Paintbox's hot-process soaps. I like the glycerin ones ok but they can be more drying.   Have you ever tried Cocoa Pink? If you are curious about it, what looks interesting to you? scentwise, none of the foodie stuff, I have crap luck with sugar notes especially. The fruit scents (Asian Pear Sparkler, Blackberry Tea, Cool Citrus, Enchanted, Georgia Sunrise, Love Punch, Orient Garden, Tiger, Zest) tea scents (Green Tea Spritzer, Honeysuckle White Tea, Sakura Sweetheart Tea), and some miscellany like Sping Fever, Black. Also, eep, they have a Light Blue dupe. I am very curious about this.   Product-wise: scrubs, body butter, the greasy version of the body oil spray (hello colorado negative humidity) are the things that would be most useful.   Lush Don't think I've really tried anything, wouldn't be against it, but don't know much about their products either.   Shiro Cosmetics? Other eyeshadow pigment, indie makeups? I love Shiro's eyeshadow pigments, but I think I'm placing an order soon since I need something for dance makeup. I'm happy to play with any and all shadow pigments, my collection thus far is from The All Natural Face (the source of foundation, bronzer, and the like for my collection, also) and Shiro, though I have very little Shiro at this point.   Day 1   Doctor Who? I am a fan. Not a totally rabid one, but certainly a fan.   How much do you like lipbalm? Love it, usually have about 4 in rotation at a time. Flavors are nice, mostly citrus and fruit flavors, I'm not a big fan of mint favor in lip balm, since it takes forever to get rid of.   Do you like and wear lipgloss? Sometimes, what I'd love to find though is a good lip stain, since gloss tends to disappear so quickly.   For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? I had a sample of Possets Sex Juice that I loved, wouldn't mind snagging more or trying some of her others. I like some Villainess (I love the scent of the Byzantium Soap, and I think Asphyxiate I liked), think I had a sample of Arcana soap that I liked but I don't remember which, maybe The Huntress? In any case, I'm open to pretty much anything.   Your feelings on Adagio teas: Yes please. I'm heather longino over there, and putting together a wishlist/favorites.   What about coffee? I drink that, too. We drink plain in the mornings, but afternoon coffee gets a little more creative. I do have a grinder, also.   Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? I honestly have no idea how to answer this. Too many good answers.   If you were a Disney princess you would be? Some kind of combination of Belle's nerdery and Merida's outdoorsyness, I s'pose.   Seashell from Florida? sure!   Ok MY Question to y'all! What craft project do you currently have on your docket or that you want to start? And what craft goodies would be welcome? Interesting shellac-free writing inks for my dip pens (I have a gorgeous almost black green that I love to write with, I'll happily take most any crafting supplies, but I don't think there are any that I actively need right now.

SW stuff

(ok, i have no idea how i started two blogs, and i can't figure out how to erase the other one, but that's not the point of this entry anyway)   SW questions (fall '10 round) (in progress) 9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? the one that immediately came to mind was mountain midwinter, bitterly cold ice and woodsmoke with the barest whisper of pine. i have so many enviromental/nostalgia smells though Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? don't think so   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? a dragonlet, or a frog, or a little wolf, or...any critter! Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? t-shirts are loved, as are mugs =) Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? again, clueless Venomous Villains? some of it's gorgeous, esp the maleficent eyeshadows, nothing i need though Last Unicorn? LOVE Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) baddie? probably have to go with Ursula there. Hero/heroine...can I say Lilo? Mulan or Kida for serious answer. Or Merlin from the Sword in the Stone   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? love stones, rocks, polished or rough, I don't know enough about the uses to say I'd need a particular one, but I'd enjoy learning about if my witch is well versed. What's your favorite Halloween Music? dark and/or orchestral rock (Apocalyptica, etc.), classical music of the same vein, and I do like the oldie spooky tunes, and the 80's stuff like 'dead man's party,' etc.   9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? i'm on deviantart but it's not really current. mostly poetry. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? no clue What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? in theory, used shoes would be great, but in practice, i have the devil's own time finding anything that fits. links to sites with cool not horrifically expensive boots would be awesome though. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? love that kind of thing but my artroom overfloweth Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? for other people yes, my own aesthetic is more bohemian tomboy. What song is on heavy rotation for you right now?Abney Park's Stigmata Martyr, Oni Wytar's Ensemble's Kyrie Eleison, Maduro's Shimmer Sustain album. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays?negative. If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? something nature (or maybe fantasy) styled, a little cabinet (like the few-inch-high type) or a box. Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? sure! If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW.new SWer, and the things that have meant the most to me are quirky things that have just shown the gifter really paid attention to who I am. (after we'd both read and loved Jitterbug Perfume, one of my dear friends sent me a beet for Valentine's day--that was probably my *most* memorable gift)   9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? anything savory, sure, bit leery of the sweet stuff Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? They have their uses in movies and jokes, but I don't collect them or anything. 9/20/10 Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles etc? bellydance music, or any danceable music, latin, whatever, always welcome! oddball things I collect?interesting rocks, feathers, natural miscellany girl scout cookies? i used to love the samoas, but homebaked still trumps all. apple butter? sure! # of bpal bottles um, counting the ones i'd like to rehome...looks like 26 or 27 9/19/10 For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I love solid bamboo hooks (only have a size M at the moment), I don't have any stitch markers, usually just use a piece of yarn looped through. I love yarnie supplies as much as art supplies, oh, yeah, other question... I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? LOVE. pens, sketchbooks, any arty/writy stuff 9/18/10 Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? again no clue, same for pretty much any other companies...if it sounds like something i'd like from my notes, I'd be happy to try, but I wouldn't know of anything specific.   X-rated/child-safe things: i don't think i would want a wang trophy mounted on my wall, but no kids, no easily offended anything here.   Web comics: girl genius, xkcd, looking for group, 8 bit theater i think it's called? the one with all the old final fantasy characters. i don't read anything regularly because i forget, but those are the ones i enjoy when i remember to look   Upcycled things: bring it!   Hair stuff: it's growning out! i like barettes and hair ornaments. I want to try making some of those silk flower bobby pins and such. i don't like anything attached to ponytail holders because i squash them, would rather have something to stick on after. I used to love hairsticks when I had hair, and I'm very curious about the hairscrew things. Headbands don't work so well, but I've been known to use a bandana. My hair's shoulder length, layered with bangs, and there's a lot of it, so it's pretty ornery. What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) Trees, elevations, water, that about sums it up. I'm fascinated by pictures of Ireland and Scotland, that's probably my dream vacation. I'd love to live along the northwest coast, I visited there once and loved it. The Olympic peninsula in Washington was amazingly beautiful. Then again, so is Maine. But the theme is still forests and water. How do people feel about edible arrangements? I love the concept of it, and we got a basket that my brother sent one time that was really good. I'm also a horrible sucker for things like the Harry and David mailorder catalogs, just to look through all this pretty stuff and food, lol.   Anyone need address/phone type books? I do, actually. Ideally one that would be forum-friendly--so I could do things like forum name, real name/addy, maybe a space for phone or website or something. I mistrust computer address books for some reason, maybe because I've had hard drives implode. I might end up doing something like a mini binder with looseleaf paper so I can add pages where I need them, always thought that was a great way to do address books.   Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I do like fantasy, including some modern/urban, and young adult fantasy, sparkly vampires aside, can rock. I'll also read the occasional screwball comedy type thing (Janet Evanovich, some of Katie MacAlistair's stuff), and if someone hands me something and says 'You *have* to read this...well, ok! =) Gifts related to reading that aren't books? That would be...? Hell, sure, why not. I'm probably driving my witch nuts being too open ended. Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? I do love soaps, most of what I've been getting for myself recently are from Chagrin Valley, which I adore, except that they have very little scent to them at all (favorites anyway are citrus woods green tea, the coffee shampoo bar, citrusy clean smelling things), I've gotten sample pieces in swaps from Haus of Gloi (aduwa and absinthe were both lovely, and everything listed on her website for scents sounds fabulous, as do her halloween scents..<sits on hands before placing an order>), Arcana, and probably one or two others, and that's always fun. From Paintbox I mostly get the sorbettos and the occasional slip (glycerin soap dries my skin out, oddly), and favorite scents so far have been Olive Tree, Gold Frank and Myrhh, Big in Japan (and if you mix the sorbetto with GFM you get what I call The Ghost of Empress Past which is fabulous ), Indian Summer and Gingermilk both sound lovely. Oh, and I keep playing around with ideas for a smack on Villainess and never order, lol. (a few of her scents sound really interesting too).   Generally for soaps my skin gets along with any of the smallish type places (i didn't think I could USE soap until I ended up on bpal and found all the discussions), nig manufactured stuff like store brands and bath and bodyworks break me out something fierce, i think it's their perfumes in the latter's case. plus i like wearing my bpals, so anything that smells that strong post bath isn't so great. a faint aura to layer with, great, but i want to use all my perfume   9/17/10 eyeballs and netherbits? eep. i think stylized things might be ok (i used to have a dragon claw holding a crystal ball), but no anatomy clutch purses or anything plskthxbai the thread discussion however was hilarious Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? Used is perfectly fine! I'm down with anything that works. As fas as things I haven't gotten around to, Fantasia on dvd (original and/or 2k) I love both and my <cringe> vhs tapes are coming to the end of days. Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? I am completely ignorant of possets. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) i used to collect my little ponies about 20 years ago, so that might be pretty funny, otherwise can't think of anything i'd really like. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses?can't say those appeal to me, i'll stick with real caramel apples. Anne Taintor, anyone?oooooh, that's who does that stuff! lol. i think it's hilarious, but honestly most of my notepads and such are the backs of no-longer-useful printed paper. 9/16/10 If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? I have and love all of the above Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? love shawls of all kinds How do you feel about recipes? love em! I have this huge book of stuff i need to write down permanently, i love collecting family and friends' recipes What kind of a cook/baker are you? Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I don't do prepackaged much, I love to cook. I enjoy baking and things that require precision, but I also adore making things up as I go. I'm a huge fan of improv pasta, homemade ravioli with my own fillings, etc. If it sounds like it'll go well, I'll try it and see what happens. If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? definitely! or something crocheted if it has a pattern, etc...love that kind of thing If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? i'll take either, i have no problem with baked goods or anything homemade How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients?also cool if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? yes.   seriously, i have a little bit of *everything* I'm not as fond of white tea as some others, but I still enjoy some (i think it was Numi that I got a white osmanthus sample from, and that was lovely), I adore black tea, flavored black, green, flavored green, i love genmaicha (my mom totally doesn't understand this), chai, tisanes...I think my only nono's are things like fennel and anise. Nothing should taste like licorice except licorice. 9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? little consumable things (stickers, etc) are fine, but i'm running out of space for just knicknack stuff (still have space for handmade and other interesting bits of course) Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? gonna ponder again Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? the only anime i can say i really loved is record of lodoss war Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? bring it! i love to be surprised, and if someone has a kind of idea of things i like and things i might, i'd be thrilled. besides, my wishlist concepts are sketchy at best. If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? absolutely! OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I am seriously the anti-sock, they're a necessity, not a squee factor, as such, boot socks tend to be useful. if i have to wear them, i like soft and warm and with a good amount of give around the calf--i have pretty large calves and get sockconstricted a lot. How do people feel about word magnets <whistles innocently> I have...4? 5? magnetic poetry kits...i think i'm stocked. (original, sequel, artist, garden, naughty, and spanish, if anyone was curious) ok, that's actually 6... If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? erm...i loved eowyn's wardrobe in lotr, though to pinpoint a specific piece? not so much. and i love dr. brennan's jewelry in bones, even though i could never pull something like her big necklaces off. How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. i love samples. i might find something i adore, if not, i can find a use for it. WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. directly from my fb...i'm a quotation fiend, anyway, i love profound things to scribe... 'Living is not enough...one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.' -Hans Christian Andersen   'the miracle is not to walk on the water or fly in the sky, but to walk on the earth.' -chinese proverb   'The universe starts out with a tap to the shoulder. If you ignore it, then it moves on to the boot to the head.' -Alesia ... 'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.' Oscar Wilde   'Anyway, if you stopped tellin' people it's all sorted out after they're dead, they might try sorting it all out while they're alive.' -Adam Young (Good Omens, Pratchett/Gaiman)   'if you can't be a good example, be a dire warning' NaNoWriMo? I am *epic fail* at fiction. I tried one year, no dice. What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) drawing a blank at the moment. I do really want to try November just on principle. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) hmm...chili con queso from El Cerro Grande, some really good buffalo wings, crab rangoon, my family's style fried chicken and fried okra, perfect fresh tomatoes, homemade ice cream or chocolate mayonnaise, microbrewed rootbeer and some really excellent tea for drinks (gluttonous answer, and now I'm hungry ) No spawnlings, so that question doesn't apply to me, and I answered a question about petspoiling already I think. =) Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that. I love information! I love jokes, particularly good webcomics of the day (like if xkcd or some other comic had something my witchee found particularly amusing/clever, funny youtube videos, great song youtube videos...mp3s are great, I'm not sure there's too much I'm looking for specifically, I love world music, especially right now anything arabic/bellydanceable, and I love classical/ethnic music with a techno'd beat behind it type stuff. One song I wasn't able to find on amazon was 'Moi et Toi' from...Justin Adams I think? If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I love shawls, probably why I keep making them. <grin> and I am one of the 'never have too many scarves' crowd, or any handmade thing. i just make sure i rotate through my hoard. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit?generally studio, though i do have a few live things i enjoy, as long as the sound quality is good and the voices still sound good unsynthed. definitely explicit over edited If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most?I adore animals in general, I have a dogbeast, I love birds of prey, large fuzzy predators (wolf, coyote, big cats, foxes...), frogs. Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? This is the kind of think I would answer with 'yes.' I love flowers and plants in general. sunflowers and zinnias are always part of my garden because they're happy flowers. i am a rescuer of abandoned poinsettias (i have...4? 5? now), and I have a soft spot for living christmas trees, though this is the absolute last year i try one--i always kill them, except for my norfolk pine. I had one of those till i moved west, it froze in the car. <pout> my mom felt so bad she bought me a little bitty 10-inch tall one here....he's approaching 3 feet now. i love my plants. Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? have to ponder this too Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, etc? If anyone has ever see the two-pronged pitchforky flexible plastic cooking forks, I might barely stop short of worshipping you. 9/13/10 Chocolate or other types of candy?yes! prefer dark chocolate most of the time, though white and milk have their uses. i *adore* caramel (especially salted caramel), fruit candies, butter rum lifesavers when i can find them...tell I have a sweet tooth? For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? yes. teabags are great for work and for lazy, I love making loose leaf tea though. I have one of the pinchy infuser balls. and actually i do have a teapot with a strainer basket. Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? I'm ok either way, though I will confess I was tickled pink to receive my first witch ecard. Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? I will soon? Do you like maple sugar candy? never tried but sounds interesting What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? Can't say I've tried it, but <cringe> I like other salty/sweet (things like white chocolate pretzels are amazing), but I'm not sure I can get on the chocolate/meat bandwagon. If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? I tend to be more gigandomug and teaball than actually tea in a teapot. Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? is salt a spice? hmm...i use absurd amounts of garlic but that's in the fridge...dill, cayenne, cloves/cinnamon? Microsoft or Apple? dude, i have no iTunes, iPod, iPhone...I think my distaste for Apple stems from college. F'ing mac lab... I would like to go Linux eventually, but right now, Windows ftw. Where was your last vacation? What did you like most?Last leaving-the-immediate-area vacation was last summer, the beloved and I attempted camping on the other side of the Rockies. We saw some amazing scenery and critters, and I really love the mountains. I also love Estes Park, at the base of my side of the Rockies. It's just a neat little (ok, kinda touristy but with some very nice stores, too) shopping district surrounded by a small town, with herds of elk in the safeway parking lot come rutting season. (we did see that one year) Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? yes to both! I love handwritten notes, I love sending them, and if I get another penpal or two out of this, even better. =) Do you hate any food things with a passion?? erm, let's see...i don't mind licorice itself in limited quantities, but i despise anise, fennel, caraway, etc., in anything except licorice. nothing that isn't a piece or licorice should be licorice flavored. end of story. also, i can't do raw onion. at all. though i really doubt that would factor into this swap. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I do much better with little links to specific things, like 'hey, go look at this cool article!' I can't even make it through 'This week in Ravelry' on a regular basis. So even a digital magazine would probably be wasted on me. :/ what interests you from the latest lab update? The Infernal Lover I'm debating ordering a bottle on blind faith, everything else I'm waiting for decants. How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? I have pens out the wazoo, including calligraphy supplies, I'm fascinated by them. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? handmade *always* trumps bought if it's something the person wants to make. Who is your favorite soap etailer? The only two I've really gotten to use so far are Chagrin Valley (soaps, dogsoaps, shampoo bars--I'm a total convert), and Paintbox Soapworks. I can't use her soaps really but I adore the sorbettos and her scents are lovely. Indian Summer sounds to die for. What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? my decoration sense is completely eclectic and I like vintage things (especially photos and paperwork, documents, etc.), so sure With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I have no preference whatsoever, I'm just thrilled to be witched. What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? At this point I wear almost all stuff from theallnaturalface.com. i have a weird pale tawny complexion so i can't do anything in pink tones (pink eyeshadow makes me look sick), anything pink based powder/blush-wise makes me look entirely pink. i used to be almost totally earthtoned, and those colors flatter me really well, but i've been having fun branching out into some wackier, bright colors when i get samples and that's been fun. so i'll try most anything. one thing i'd like to find is a lipstain that works. i've given up on lipstick since it's so dry out here and i don't leave the house without a lipbalm Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with ) I tend to have crushes on characters rather than actual famous people/actors and I don't do any kind of fan collecting. That being said, let's see how many I could throw in...Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds (I love social awkward, nerdy cute guys), David Tennant (adorable, and brilliant as The Doctor), erm...now I'm drawing a blank. Oh, Seeley Booth in Bones.   9/12/10 daemon, patronus, etc. My patronus would probably be something like an English sheepdog. <grin> On the daemon test I remember I got a mouse on the one that was on the official site a long time ago (his name was Albus, as I recall), took the one on okcupid and got the Independent Soul. Your daemon's form would represent your calm, introverted nature, your cool logic, and your impatience with crowds of people. He or she would probably whisper ironic comments in your ear, give logical advice and try to hide his or her soft side from everyone, even you.   Suggested forms: Peregrine Falcon, Snowy Owl, Snow Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Osprey. I'm a little surprised I didn't get Solitary Trickster.   Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to last.fm immediately and create an account! Download the scrobbler! Link us to your account! If you reject this assignment, maybe just tell us what your mp3 player says you listen to a lot? after work i'll do this Any countries you're interested in? the british isles (yeah, all of them), Northern Spain...I'm really interested about anywhere other than here, lol. I love mythology, culture, traditions, etc. Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Linen sprays would be bad since my Kalibeast would be inclined to lick my bed, but anything else, sure! If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? absolutely! Personality over perfection any day. Are you a foodie? not in the food snob sense, but I love to cook, eat, talk food, trade recipes... in the perfume sense generally not. foodie scents don't like me, and sugar does horrible things on my skin. Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Love playing, not so much of the watching. I love pickup games just for fun, I used to bowl competitively, I am a dancing fool. For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? Journals, Sketchbooks, etc.?I adore them. Everything from blank to decorative. Not so much cutesy or really girly, but I like designed stuff, especially kind of abstract floral or asian-inspired designs, or just something with a really interesting fabric or paper cover. (I make books, so I'm fascinated by them). My only real preference is if it's lined (I love unlined too), I prefer narrower lines. 9/11/10 Cake truffles? If YES! Cake/icing/chocolate type? I have no earthly idea what a cake truffle is, but it sounds interesting. are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? i don't travel, but i love sample size things to try, and i like little stuff in general for some reason Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay? Iffy. I like some things in that category, but it's more that vampires have to be involved rather than I go looking for those stories. I honestly have no interest in things like True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse, etc. If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? i have (ok, laugh) a super nintendo, and a ps2, the only game i would really love to get ahold of is legend of dragoon for the normal playstation since i had a copy, never got to finish it, and now i have...disc 3 out of the 4. I have a computer that's gaming-able, mostly I play WoW and the occasional other rpg type game. And I want to pick up another original NES console since mine blew up--my mom and I still play some of those old games. How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? love all of the above. I do a lot of my garden from seeds, especially flowers and herbs. How do you feel about marzipan? I am quite fond. My family used to make it (ah, German heritage food, and candies...). I'm weird though in that it's hard for me to eat all the pretty fruit and fancy shapes because they're too pretty to eat. If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? GeekGoth is the only thing coming to mind right now. Most of my favorites are GCs and/or I have a bottle already, so I guess I'm fortunate. Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? there was something mentioned in the easterbunny candy thread from holland i think i just remember someone broke the name down as 'stroop sold da cheeses' that was some kind of caramelly toffee type thing that i'd have loved to try. oh, and i have a fondness (thanking girasol for enablement) for cadbury crunchie bars. Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? I've really never gotten anything from the trading post. If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Sure! I crochet, so I love yarn and such, crochet hooks are lovely since I'm constantly misplacing mine (I was gifted a hook carved out of bamboo that I adore, but I can only find the fat wood handle with metal hook type here), I love decorative papers for cards, book arts, etc., art supplies of any kind are welcome, beads I love but I'm a novice beader so mostly they just sit around and look pretty. Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? My Wild Love-George Winston (arranged for piano from The Doors) Strathgarry-Simon Wynberg Nutcracker--one of the character dances The Ring Goes South-LOTR Soundtrack People are Strange-George Winston Caravanserai-Maduro (bear in mind this is a worksafe collection--mostly classical/ish, and some bellydance practice) Soundtracks you'd like? can't think of anything at the moment? If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? Right this instant? I'd love to see Gaelic Storm again. What a fun, heart-lightening show they put on.   9/10/10 Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples? sure! (caveat: nothing preserved with sulfur, i can get hives from that) If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivies/allergies to any materials? no sensitivities, I love soft things, I love darker/richer colors, but no particular preference, just not complete pastel (like a variegated purple with lights and darks would be lovely, a pure easter-egg-toned something wouldn't work so well. Gift Certificate: physical or email? either Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? yankee I love mistletoe (closest thing to a real christmas tree), and i tend to prefer fruit and some spice scents, and the occasional baked-goods scent, I do love Woodwick candles because I love the fireplace noise when they burn. =) would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? would love it. wolf, coyote, or bird most likely And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? awesome What places to do you visit that you'd like a gift card to? Starbucks, Target, Wal-Mart, B&N, a favorite restaurant or clothing shop? Cake or Frosting? depends on the type, I adore things like real buttercream and cream cheese type frostings, but I'm equally fond of cakes that stand alone.     9/9/10 What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? I do think the muppets are fun. If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? a sprite darter (a cute little multicolored dragonlet in WoW) or Eggbert (another WoW pet, a spaztastic little half hatched bird). Hey, if you watch them long enough, you get pretty fond. =P Comfort Rereads?: Hero and the Crown/The Blue Sword, Sunshine (all McKinley), The Chronicles of Prydain, the Harry Potter books, I might have to track down The Witch of Blackbird Pond again since I think lioness mentioned that, and I loved that book as a kid, haven't read it in years. Oh, and Terri Windling's The Wood Wife. Love that book. Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch? nope If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) Currently taking bellydance classes and debating going back to finish an associates degree, most of the 'trying to learn stuff' involves crafts and computer programs. I generally love learning about new things, especially languages.   9/8/10 Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? I tend to identify with lunar shapes (non-face-bearing), and tree/leaf type things. The one piece of jewelry I always wear is a silver pine needle casting. I love that something so unique and beautiful came from something natural, plus my beloved and I made it together, so it's become kind of a talisman of our relationship as well. I play with it a lot when I'm thinking. Do you need a box for your bpal bottles? Your imps? Your something else to put in a box stuff? i'm a fiend for storage items, and i currently have way more imps than impspace in my one box If you could be any person, being, or animal from Fantasy what or who would you be? a shapeshifter If you could go back to any point in time, where, when, why? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? i love the webcomic girl genius, and a couple other webcomics (xkcd, looking for group, etc.) i used to like stuff like sandman and i had a couple story arcs of other random comics (fathom and aria that I recall) at one point, but it's been a very long time since I read any, my favorite comicky thing of all time was the graphic novel The Dream Hunters. I lost my copy when I moved. Warm drinks? I drink gallons of spiced cider in the cool seasons, year-round I drink tea probably more than any other beverage, occasionally coffee, I used to love homemade hot chocolate but I can't really do milk anymore.   9/6/10 When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. Generally speaking anything qualifies as a snack food since left to my own devices I would graze throughout the day rather than actually eat meals.   Ebooks: don't have a reader   Nail Polish: my nails are usually painted in self-defense (in other words, paint or break), I use a wide variety of colors, usually at least 2 at a time, and as such, my favorite nailpolishes are just the Sinful Colors from walgreens as they're dirt cheap and they work well.   Soft/plushy things: I have been known to collect such critters.   What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? honestly? any i don't do. i have needles and several references to learn knitting, just haven't gotten to it yet, I'd love to learn how to spin eventually, or how to do more than just make basic bead earrings.   9/4/10 Are you into Austen's books? don't hurt me, but I think that falls into the 'hell no' category. SW spring '11 questions

If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? i would not be creeped out, and i think it would be great to actually meet a witch (mine or minion) though probably arranging to meet out for coffee or something would be the best bet since a) shared house space, b.)wonky dog, c)wonkier schedule.   Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? that would absolutely rock!!!     March 18   Do you like poetry? definitely.   What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? i do not do perfumy/floral. i like 'real' scents, fruit, citrus, realistic smelling baked goods/spices, evergreen in cooler months.   What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? i read the very first story arc of aria like a decade ago and loved that, don't even know how much more of it if any there was. i liked the sandman, especially the spinoff graphic novel 'the dream hunters.' i used to play in a dc universe forum based game...characters...i have a fondness for Jason Blood as my favorite character was created as his daughter, and i got to play him in a prequel game later (my Jason Blood was rather divergent, but hey.) um, other stuff...if you include online comics i like 8 bit theatre, looking for group, xkcd, girl genius (this is the only one i remember to keep up with). one of my exes (and still good friend) is really into comics and i caught his enjoyment even if i don't actively go out and look for them.   How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles? love. my nails are vitually always painted. usually in pretty wacky colors, and one is always different. i generally prefer frosts and sparkly stuff to cremes, and pastels really don't work with my skintone.   Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? i thought of something, but now i don't remember...oh! oven mitt! if anyone ever finds one that's flaxible fabric and looks more like a sock puppet than anything else, i would be freaking overjoyed. hah! i found a pattern, it's these things. so if i have a crafty witch, this would totally be treasure.   Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? i am a geek. i haven't read any comics in quite a while though, and i don't do much gaming anymore, sadly. i do love my computer and console rpgs though, and i'm a WoW player.   Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse? bag would need to be durable, other than that, i go by touch more than anything. i do love brocade patterns.   Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? um, yes, four of the new LEs sound interesting to try: LORD TEISHIN WITH A DEMON BEHIND A SCREEN, II NO HAYATA KILLS THE NUE AT THE IMPERIAL PALACE, MINAMOTO NO YORIMITSU CUTS AT THE EARTH SPIDER, ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE COURTESAN JIGOKUDAYU. i've had not-stellar luck with scents recently though.   March 17   Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? i would not have the first clue.   Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? like throw pillows? that would be cool. i like stuff that i can actually lean on, so as long as it's not a completely forbidding material, it's all good.   purses? bags? What style/colors? I don't do purses, I could however, use a fairly good-sized bag of some nature for a dance bag. i'm getting tired of stuffing my huge skirts into a backpack, it's like fabric origami.   Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? would love this! jewel tones, especially blues and greens if meant for hair. can add earths to the list for otherwise.   Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? any moisturizing stuff is always a good bet, or linen spray. as far as scents though most of theirs won't work for me since foodie/sweet=plastic on me. the ones that likely would work...any of the all naturals (the show must go on sounds really nice), most of the summer goddesses, earth child, woody woodstock, secret agent, any of the power players, ishtar. basically if it's not food, sugar, or florals it should be ok.     March 16   For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? i have realy pale gold-undertoned skin, so i do best in warm, ruddy colors. i wear lipbalm all the freaking time, generally plain just because i'm more worried about my lips not peeling. i do like tinted balms, shimmery stuff is win, i just need something that has a lot of moisture for our negative humidity, and not mint flavored. i don't know why so many companies thing tinted balm has to be mint. bleh.   Are there any fancy/gourmet/special herbs or spices that you'd love to receive? ie: good quality vanilla or other extracts, vanilla beans, saffron, lavender, etc. i'm always interested in trying new things and i love to cook and bake.   What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? strangely, i'm most drawn to predators. foxes, wolves, coyotes, big cats, falcons...and also small rodents and frogs, and plain little sparrows. yes, i'm weird, and i adore my critters.   If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? elf, half elf, or ranger for sheer nerdery's sake   DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? dvd   Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) i am the anti-sock.   Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? my dear witch, i am gleefully at your mercy on this one.   Do you like pirate-related things? i think i have to say yes here.   Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors??? i don't think i have any burning desires for bpal soaps. my soapy stuff tends to be villainess or our wonderful tartchef's paintbox. villainess favorites are embargo, byzantium, and i'm fascinated by the sol bacio exclusive at the soap box co. paintbox faves are gold, frank and myrrh, big in japan, walk in the woods, her yuletide mariner from this past winter...i'm interested to try the blackbird one. (i'm also a big fan of chargin valley for hair shampoo bars and non-scent-heavy soaps)   What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? i don't think i have a particular fixation on a period. i like impressionist stuff a lot, but i tend to go on a piece-by-piece basis. if you think i'd like it, go for it.   Would you like caffeinated lollipops?: http://www.lollyphil...cks-caffeinated neither caffeine nor sugar amps me up, so it would be wasted on me   Copied CD's or DVD's? sure. i have no blu-ray though, heads up.   March 15   Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? my dislikes are tequila, southern comfort, jaeger, and ouzo. mostly otherwise it's fair game. i don't drink much but it's usually something like irish whiskey straight or mixed with gingerale, or something goofy and sweet. occasionally hard cider or a good beer or mead. recommendations for brands of mead and cider welcome!   Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? yea!   Do you like amurigami dolls? yup, critters especially.   Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? i think i have to go with pirates on this one.   Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind? definitely. it's *almost* chopstick length again. i love barettes, big or small, small rubber bands for braids, big ornamental stuff. hairpieces for dancing are awesome--flowers, etc... i can't do headbands though, they always pinch/stab. i use a bandana/kerchief instead. I have brown/henna'd auburn hair, so most colors are ok. not a fan of most pastels though.   Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? earrings, 2 lobe left, 1 right. i usually wear dangles plus one stud (currently that's a silver rattlesnake), any metal, and long dangles are fine as long as not much more than 3 inches? i also *love* ear cuffs, both the cuff on its own and the cuffs chained to an earring. i only wear those on the left though.   Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) i'm not sure i'd be down with the bacon chocolate that everyone mentions, but other than that i'm game to try things.   March 14   surprise! the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? art stuff! play with yarn, scribe, take a walk with kali, dance, have a gardening spree.   Do you have any blogs you regularly read? negative, not enough time in the day.   Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? a good way to store imps? i kind of had an imp corral, but it is not working out so wonderfully.   Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers? i love to garden, and a little of everything, usually a few tomato plants, peppers, radishes, herbs, we have roses, i have a herd of poinsettias, and i do lots of flowers, zinnias, sunflowers, a few little annuals. i'm a totally chaotic gardener and i love it.   Social Networking sites: heather longino on fb, firechild on ravelry, skyelyric on etsy, if you count that as a social site   favourite artists or specific paintings? i like a whole lot of stuff. i'm a photography afficionado since i am a photographer, i like ansel adams, jerry uelsmann, imogen cunningham, i also have a thing for fantasy art, i have a couple prints from an artist named AB Word that I really love.   March 13 how about mix CDs? absolutely! any kinda music.   Hey, how do folks feel about little e-goodies, like links to stuff your witchee likes? sure, that would be fun   Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? a store near me carries the aussie ones, so i'm set on that score.   Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? I can't think of any at the moment.   candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? i have tarts like whoa, but candles are still nice. mostly lighter scents, fruit, spice, natural smelling outdoor type scents.   Get your music player, what are the first 13 songs on Random?   Astrological charts and interpretation/ reports? would be quite interesting   So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? i don't have a reader, but i can always get the computer software to read something.   March 11     Baked Goods? Yea Nay? everything in moderation, including moderation.   If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? i love to cook, especially interested these days in vegetarian type stuff. i'm mostly omnivorous, but prefer the non-meat categories most days, and i'm always looking for interesting things i can foist off on my family.   What would I order TODAY from.... BPAL/TP: Fenris Wolf, as my imp is nearly gone, or the cedar version of Fire of Love...or maybe a backup of The Butterfly. otherwise i was busy eyeballing villainess stuff at the soap box co. sol bacio and embargo things are taunting me   What level of nudity? no problems with any.   gently used items from a garage sale/thrift store? sure!   Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? i'm open to anything except not a fan of licorice-y spices (fennel, caraway, anise), and stuff like rosemary i love to smell but don't like to cook with. i think anything else is pretty much fair game   Do you like any particular kinds of green or black teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk?um, yes. i drink and enjoy all of the above, also flavored black tea and herbal teas. my favorites are probably black teas since i like strong tea.   Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) I do love gummies (mostly things like the haribo gold bears, gummi worms sour and otherwise, fruit slices), unsulfured dried fruit, sesame sticks, popcorn, a particular rice cracker mix i can't find anymore (think it was called nooshi? something like that), nuts, yogurt-covered stuff...yeah, i'm a grazer.

SW Fall 14 Q's

I wonder what a potential witchee would think about being bombarded with PUMPKINS in various formats. Because my current obsession just may last long enough to be of use in spoiling.....but I know wouldn't be appreciated by everyone. Would you appreciate it?!? The idea of this intrigues me. I actually love pumpkins and other winter squash in both decorative and culinary capacities. Colorful suashes are just so wonderuflly *fall.* Two of my sparse but awesome halloween decorations are grey pumpkins with a spider and a raven on them. Pumpkin scents are not as successful for me.   I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). Canned goods are awesome--pickled anything is wonderful, salsa of most spice levels, just easy on the cilantro (I'm one of those weird cilantro-tasters), baked goods are also welcome.   Trading Post wants? There's some stuff on my forum wishlist. Decant sizes are just fine since I don't use a lot of anything at a time, and stuff like bath oils I end up diluting anyway since the beloved has a super sensitive nose. I'm most curious righ tnow about the Embalming Fluid soap, Frenum bath oil, Nectar HG, Frankincense/clove, White Tea/sage HGs     4. What direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? And also feel free to list any retail brands you really don't like. Prefer to avoid any companies that engage in animal testing, other than that, I'm not too worried. I personally avoid places like walmart and hobby lobby, but if my witch needs to get stuff from either of those, I'm not going to flip out or anything.   5. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? I drink a lot of tea, black, green, herbal, oolong, whatever....I don't like rooibos, and I don't care for anything with licorice root (that weird sweet aftertaste), but otherwise I'm open to whatever. Bags or loose, I use both. I do drink coffee, but the morning pot is always Yuban. Occasionally we'll do something flavored or otherwise exotic for an afternoon indulgence, so if you have an awesome local roaster that does the little 1-pot sized samples, that would be welcome. =)   6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? I do cook! Not sure if there's anything I need accessory-wise though; kitchen's pretty well armed.   7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? I love other people's crafts! Whatever you enjoy doign would be loved. And I will use art supplies. I'd love to find some tree slices for woodburning with the bark still on. The ones I saw around here were absurdly pricey, so if my witch happens to have cheap access, that would be nifty.   8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? I honestly have no idea how to answer this. There are places I'd love to go and things I'd like to see, but nothing I feel particularly connected to.   9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? I lean more toward the fantasy and realistic art, but I don't know what I would commission.   10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? Crochet, gardening, photography, walking with boyfriend and dog, dance, World of Warcraft.   11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? No tabletop, sadly.   12. DVD movies or games that you wish would magically appear in your hands? Can they be used, through Amazon? There are a few on my wishlist. Record of Lodoss War (dvd), Dragon Warrior 7 (playstation), I wouldn't mind getting ahold of the original theatrical releases of the old Star Wars movies without all the new and improved crap. The Rankin Bass version of The Hobbit on dvd. Used is totally welcome! If it plays, I'm happy.   13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? I'm pretty open? Not too sure about weird chip flavors and probably not meat products.   14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? I have 3 different Minion mashup t-shirts, does that count as a fandom? There are a lot of things I like enough to have stuff for, but nothing I'm like rabid fangirl over. The things I do enjoy enough to have stuff are Dr. Who, Firefly, um...I dunno, I like computer geek references, though not many of them apply to me (in school as a network admin).   15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. Add away. I'm on FB under my real name, and on ravelry as firechild.   16. Anybody interested in something from RCCC, whether it's con-exclusive merch or from a particular exhibitor or artist? No clue on specifics, but con is generally cool. Small interesting art prints, a new button for the collection on my knapsack, fun t-shirt, whatever.   17. How important to you is regular contact / chatter with your witch? I like knowing I have a witch, but if s/he's not particularly chatty, that's fine. I like being chatty, but I also volunteer to be matched with ninja witches, because they're awesome, too.   18. Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? Yep.   19. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? Either is fine, I can rip/burn music as needed. =)   20. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? I am a slacker extraordinaire regarding housekeeping. I need to set myself up a schedule or something.   21. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? i.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… a coin I could keep in my wallet or something that I could attach to my keychain would be cool.   22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? I have soem superstitions, but nothing comes to mind that would be relevant to this.   23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? not applicable, but if my witch is vegan, I'm totally fine receiving veganized treats   24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? love apples, and I can drink myself sick on hot spiced cider in the fall. I just keep a pot on the stove with my spices and refill and reheat.   25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? Not that I know of. Rough/itchy stuff next to the skin is a bad idea, because I will scratch myself raw, but the fiber type isn't the culprit.   26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? Sure, I decorate for winter holidays.   27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? no interest, honestly   28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? Oh geez...Gaelic, aquaponics, papermaking....   29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? short answer, yes. I like Japanese poetic forms and nature imagery, Pablo Neruda, ee cummings. I'm not generally as fond of rhyming forms in poetry.   30. Would you enjoy receiving something related to a favorite Disney character? I wouldn't know what specifically, but I wouldn't be averse to it.   31. How do you feel about cute things as decorations or accessories? (Example: Would you enjoy this stationery - or do you prefer elegant/creepy/neutral stuff?) I like cute and quirky, to an extent--my probably with a lot of cutesy stationery is that it's so overloaded you really don't have room to write anything.   32. What is something you'd really like to recieve from your witch? Please be as specific as possible - no, "Oh whatever she thinks is fine!" Something handmade, a handwritten letter/note   33. Go to your music source of choice - on random or shuffle setting if possible - & share with us the 10 most recent songs/artists. (I did this in thread, but we'll see what i get a second time on the same playlist of 654 songs) 'Vishrama' Knossos 'My Nightmare's Dream' AWOLNATION 'I See You' G Tom Mac 'Chrysalis Coccoon Mix' Solace 'Final Fantasy Techno Rave Remix' 'Barrel of a Gun' Depeche Mode 'Earthbound Hotel Rhumba Remix' The Pancake Chef 'Love, Tears, Heartaches + Devotion' B-Tribe 'Soul Makossa' Afrika Bambaataa 'Ottoman Lobotomy' Kara Nomadica (which had a playback error, so bonus track:) 'Vermillion Part2' Slipknot     34. Tarot cards, rune stones and/or other divination tools yay or nay? If they came with instructions. I'm a newbie to that stuff.   35. Do you have a Celeb crush? or someone who you just can't get enough of....other than your SO. Negative. I occasionally crush on characters, but never celebs   36. Glitter? are you okay with it, or hate it like the plague? I'm fine with it.   37. If there was another time period other than now that described your style/aesthetics, what would it be? I'm too all over the place to give a good answer to this.   38. If you had to pick one or two quotes to live by, what would it be and why? Coming back to this.   39. Do you prefer physical books? CD books? eBooks? If eBooks do you have preferred format, kindle/nook/kobo/PDF/ePub/ect? eAudio? Prefer physical books. I start at a computer screen between 6 and 12 hours a day (yay work), so having non-electronic media to enjoy is a wonderful thing.   40. Smut! Yes or no? If yes, what kink, er, kind? It...depends. I don't mind the urban fantasy romance type stuff (my mom and I have all the Nalini Singh Guild Hunter and Changeling books between us, I have MeiLin's Lovers and Beloveds and greatly enjoyed that....I think it comes down to the criteria of plot and good writing.   41. Ebooks! Yes or no? Not my first choice, but I can read them that way.   42. If you were to get a custom bottle from House of Gloi made for you what notes would create your perfect blend? Patch, Amber, Chrysanthemum or maybe Beeswax, bergamot, blood orange (green tea?)   43. If your witch were to take a photograph (or paint or whatever) of something just for you, what would it be? Landscape? Flower? Critter? Something to illustrate a favorite quote? I love nature photography, especially macro work of plants. And small wildlife--songbirds, hummingbirds, insects...   44. What is your favorite Halloween animal or other symbol/decoration? moons, ravens, owls...I like the dark windy moonlit fall night imagery more that specifically Halloween, I think   45. Makeup, especially of the indie variety. Nail polish, nail wraps, eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss, etc. Y/N? Specific preferences (color, finish, product, brand, etc.)? I like eyeshadow pigments, preferably shimmer, and tawnier colors. Samples of pigments are awesome since I don't use a ton. I'd like to find a decent lip tint/stain...for lip colors, shades in the true-to-brownish red family are best, anything from pale to dark is fine--if it's too dramatic for daily use it becomes stage makeup. I really don't do much nail-wise anymore.   46. How do you feel about profanity and off-color humor? Totally fine, just no racist, gross-out, or deliberately humiliating type humor.   47. I make hairsticks...would you like/use them? hair's currently too short. I'm actually going to grow it out so I can use my hairsticks again.   48. Does anyone here LARP? If so, what kind of LARP? And what kind of character do you play? No larping   49. Would you completely freak out if I sent you a chocolate covered scorpion or some other food oddity? This includes things like 'bacon powder' from thinkgeek.com. Neither of those sound particularly appealing. I wouldn't freak out, but I don't think I could quite manage to eat a scorpion, no matter how many episodes of Bizarre Foods I've watched.   50. This has kind of been covered, but, are you ok with receiving canned jam (from a veteran jammer!) and if so, what flavors would you like and not like? I can't think of any fruits I dislike, so that's wide open.   51. Let's talk nail polish. What colors do you love? Hate? Which brands are you dying to try? Have you ever used indies? Do you like glitter? Any textures to avoid (glitter, sand, etc)? Definitely prefer shimmery things to mattes and cremes. Not a fan of glitter or anything else it would take a jackhammer to remove from my nails.   52. How do you feel about getting a special Halloween plushie? sure!   53. I'm in Japan, anything specific you might want from the land of the rising sun? a little piece of pottery, pretty stationery   54. Are there any GC scents that you know you love, but for whatever reason, keep putting off buying bottles of? Kali   55. I know not everyone likes Lush products, but if you do, which Lush items would you like to get from your Witch? no idea, I've had very little experience. I know there's like the little charity pots which I'd love except that chocolaet scent goes *awful* on my skin   56. Is there anywhere (in the US) that you are dying to get away to? Also when would you be able to get away. Would this even be something you were interested in? If so, go look at the Southwest sale for routes and dates and times. I would love to say yes, but I'm reasonably sure I will be doing no traveling for the forseeable future.   57. If you are ok with receiving t-shirts, what size are you, do you prefer tissue tees, normal crew tees, babydoll etc? Don't like tissue tees at all. Babydolls generally XL is good. Unisex, L or XL if it's something my boyfriend could also borrow.   58. THINKGEEK! Who loves it - do you have a wishlist on there?? What are some things you are jonesing for on there for under $20? I'll get back to this.   59. Zombies, yes or no? Newp. My boyfriend watches The Walking Dead when I'm otherwise occupied. Caveats: I own Shawn of the Dead and love it. I'm ok, with bad cheesy movies. 28 Days Later was good but I wouldn't want to see it many times.   60. Would you like arm warmers/fingerless gloves? If so, what length? just beyond the wrist, almost to the elbow, full sleeves? love them. a bit past the wrist is probably best. warning, I do have fairly large hands--men's medium is a good approximation.   61. Do you feel a particular affinity for a specific animal/s? As in animals I'm drawn to? Dogs, songbirds (especially of the finch/sparrow persuasion), hummingbirds.     62. Anyone have any Paintbox Soapworks loves? Bookkeeper's Butter is divine, but I'm set on that for now. I like the soaps and sorbettos a lot, just no soap with glitter on it since I end up scratching myself. Would like to try the scent balms or wax melts at some point. Small size slips would be good for my work/school bag. As far as scents go, The Bee's Lament sounds amazing, I'd also like to try Gooseberry Beach, Heima, Aquae Sulis, Kid A, The Crofter's Bar. Known loves are Blackbird, Pink Sand (summer LE), Sweet 100s, The Englishman, Halcyon.   63. How would you feel if your witch or a minion of your witch showed up in person at your house with goodies? Thrilled? Annoyed? Completely creeped out? No one lives near me so I can't see this being relevant. I'd love to meet more BPAListas, but you'd probably be better off calling me and meeting out in town.   64. Do you have a ravelry account? Tell me about your yarn obsessions. firechild is me. I'm trying to keep it current, but my projects are somewhat scattered. I crochet, I have painfully rudimentary knitting skills, and I have dreams of learning how to spin on a drop spindle or do small weaving with my oh-so-copious free time.   65. Sock Dreams, yay or nay? Never shopped there, but I'm learning to appreciate socks. Prefer boot or crew length, some ankle. No kneesocks, no toesocks. It would be kinda fun to have interesting socks this winter when I come in to work and take my snow boots off.   66. Knitted items like scarves, shawls, dishclothes....yay or nay? Favorite fibers? Favorite colors? Bring it! I am equal opportunity! Wearables, no preference as long as they're soft...acrylic, wool, other natural fibers, whatever you like working with.   67. Is your Amazon WL up-to-date? Mostly? I'll go check it. Also any books/cds/dvds/games on there are more than fine found used.   68. If you were to receive handmade caramels, would it matter if they were made with raw cream (unpasteurized)? Doesn't bother me. I love caramels, btw. I also make them.   69. Would you enjoy getting a sampling of quality incense taken from various sources? Are there types of incense you know you don't like? Would you want a burner for loose incense and a few charcoals to get you started with that, or would you rather stick to simpler types? I love incense, but the other residents of the house can't handle it, so I'm relegated to burning incense on the patio, which means it doesn't happen too often.   70. I know we already had a question about needed kitchen accessories, but what about spices? I'm up for that! I use a lot of things like dill, garlic in various forms (salt, granules, jarred), basil, sweet spices like cinnamon, ginger, cloves...I like spice blends as well. I'm not fond of cooking with thyme or rosemary, though I love the smells, anise, fennel, or caraway. If you happen to grow and dry your own herbs, or anything like chamomile or other tea components, I would welcome that kind of thing.   71. Would you like handmade stationary or cards? How about a quill pen? sure to any of the above!   72. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "gimme that ghost pepper!" and 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" Where is your heat tolerance? My eating-zone is probably up to about 7.5 I register the pepper at a moderate spice level, but certain foods I will suffer through just because I love the taste. Anything that's hot just for the sake of being hot is a pass.

It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom.   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example)   Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc?   I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places?   Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you?   I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible!   What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants?   I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here?   what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up?   Do you have an eReader and if so which one?   Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn?   Marzipan?   Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter?     Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka?   If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that?   If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)?   Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out?   Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice.   I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them?   Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name?   How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box?   Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern?   If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images?   Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs?   I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish?   Stuffed things: yea or nay?   New Question: mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you?   Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area?   Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials?   Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas?   Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue?     I live near this very cool Retro store (retrodrygoods.com) (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them?   Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses?   What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style?   Witchee, what are your favorite quotes?   Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays!   What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike?   Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? There's an herbal shop I really like here in NYC called Flower Power (flowerpower.net) that has quite a wide selection.   If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments?   Hey Witchee! I want to send you a delivery. It could be cupcakes from a local bakery, it could be a singing hugging bear-a-gram, it could be a bouquet of flowers. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive. a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* B..) Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries? c) If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously?   What are some things you are OK with receiving gently used or homemade, and some things you absolutely do not want if they are gently used or homemade?   And now a new question: I live near a Mast General Store (mastgeneralstore.com). It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you?   Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions?   Ninjas or Pirates?   I have an extra room spray and 2 extra bath oils (one Cephalopod, one Exhibit Hall Fatigue) from Dragon*Con - would anybody like a decant?   Witchee, would you like it if I made you a "mix tape" of songs that I think you might like? And if so, would you prefer mp3 or CD format?   I know it is totally the wrong season (for most of us), but do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you like to grow?   I'm about to be near a Lush store next week, is there anything you might like from there?   Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it?   Movies that you love but forgot to put in your questionaire?   Any favorite Bath & Body Works scents/products?   Haus of Gloi is offering custom perfumes - would you like one? What would your ideal blend be?   Any Bath, Body or nutritional type items you would love to try from a Natural and Organic food store (similar to Whole Foods) that you don't buy because they are a bit too pricey?   OK, so those of you who said you wouldn't mind receiving (sneakily packaged!) beer or wine: Tell me of your taste preferences. Dry/sweet? Red/white? Lager/ale/porter/stout? Fruit? Spice? Hops? Sour (brettanomyces, etc)?   Witchee, will you be gone from your normal mailing address at any point during the round?   Are you a Disney fan or does even thinking about Disney make your head hurt? If you're into Disney, would you like something from the Happiest Place on Earth ?   dear witchee, would you, could you use an electric candle warmer?   Do you lust after some new socks/tights?   are there any of MeiLin's books (e-book or print) you'd be interested in?   Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want?   Would you be interested in BPTP CANDY?   Do you like coffee? If so, what kinds? Flavored, fancy, basic? Beans or ground?   Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place?   CUSTOM-Made Pottery?? yea or nay? coffee mugs, rustic or more elegant? a set of bowls? soap dish? bird feeder? something alltogether different? and lastly, good colors for glazes...?   Do you have a forum buddy? Someone who knows you and/or your tastes well enough to answer questions on your behalf?   If you are on Livejournal, would you appreciate LJ stuff like paid time, custom userheads, stuff like that? If you are NOT on LJ but are on other sites that have similar paid-for services (Flickr, for example?) would you, and what are those sites/etc?   A question, witchees: if you are into tarot, what is your favorite card?   And another question: would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones?   Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above?   Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above?   Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.)   If you like tea, what kinds?   Do you do Goodreads or LibraryThing or a site like that? If so, can I see your to-read list, please?   Zombies; Yay or Nay?   If you have cats, do they like catnip toys? If you have doggies, would they like a super-reinforced canvas toy with a squeaker in it?   If you have kids, what are they into?   How do you feel about wearable knitted lace? Shawls, wraps, and the like?   Looking at the warehouse, I notice that our lovely Greenwoodtree is able to do chart readings and/or forecasts at a very reasonable rate. Is this something you would want?   I live in Japan. Anything you would be interested in from there?   Candy Corn: yes, no?   WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF!!! movies, comedians, black humor, your partner, a comic strip? what?   You are meeting up with someone on a casual lunch/early afternoon thing. This person is someone you want to impress/look good for (for whatever reason, not necessarily romantic, and not necessarily for business either). What would you look like, given the contents of your wardrobe/etc?   You are to be let loose in a clothing store of your choice, to pick a full outfit, down to the shoes, the accessories, etc. and things would be altered to fit you if needed. What store would that be, and what would you look like?   You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? (caveats: size doesn't matter, but they have to be tangible/buyable).   The end of this month I'm going to Scarefest, the big horror and paranormal con in Kentucky. (www.scarefest.com) If I were your witch, is there anything you would like from there (skull jewelry, art prints from an artist that catch your eye, etc), or anyone whose autograph or photo or such you would dig?   What is your holy grail "I'd kill to just have one drop in an imp" bpal scent?   Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting?   if you wear earrings, do you have pierced ears?   My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?)   I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com.   In the meantime, let me know what you like to do on the Internet to kill time. Flash games? What are your daily websites/blog visits, or favorite YouTube videos?   And what are your favourite characters from your fandoms?   My Little Pony... Cute or meh?   Lip balm - tube or tin?   Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes?   Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles?   Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no?   Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like?   Would you like a pair of knitted socks?   Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related?   Do you subscribe to any sample boxes, and if so, which ones? Would you like to receive some samples?   do you have a problem with nudes??? If not, do you prefer male or female?   Paintbox Soapworks: Interested in anything from her? are there any other e-tailers you're desperately wanting to try? if so, any specific items/scents/etc?   ThinkGeek: anything interesting to you on there?   What's one thing you want, right now, that you're having difficulty finding?     Who here is going to be picking up JK Rowling's new book on Thursday?   What do you do to take care of yourself when you're having a rough day (sick, life not going your way, whatever)?   favorite and least favorite baked goods?   what size T-Shirt do you wear (standard AND babydoll)?   I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. Would you be interested in trying something like Georgia Moonshine Jelly or TOE Jam (each letter stands for some kind of fruit, I don't remember which ones) or something similar? How about homemade jam in general?   Would you be interested in homemade herbal remedies and tinctures?   Owls?   Do any of Villainness' Soap Box exclusive scents interest you, especially any of the Smooches/Whippeds?   Puddin' just put a shitton of old Lunacy shirts on the BPTP Etsy! Any ones interest you?   Witchee, do you want anything from the Haunt update coming up on 10/3? I know it might be too early to say, but if you could look at the preview on the night of 10/2 and let me know if you want anything...   Gardening?   Do you use or would like to try loose eyeshadow pigments?   Is there anything you might want from the latest weenie update (Lab or TP)?   What's a new company to you that you most want to try a product from or what would be a new product to you that you most want to try (make-up, perfume, or bath/body)?   If you like necklaces, what are some symbols or images that you would love to have a necklace depict? (ex. spiders, skulls, hearts...?)   If you had a fairy for NYCC, what exclusive scent would you kill to own?   What do you think of Shiro Cosmetics Halloween Collection? SW '16 Q's

9/19
Do you decorate for Halloween all year? If not, what level of decor do you have for Halloween?
Hell no. I like the changing of the seasons and the different decorations that go with that, so my decorations rotate. Most of my decorating is more weather/season specific (but I do love christmas decorating), so at the beginning of November, the Weenie decorations go back away until next fall. =) I don't go all-out on Halloween decorating, it's more general fall and then some 'Ween decorations right around the holiday itself.

Indoor/outdoor Halloween decorations? What do you do, and what would you prefer to receive?
My outdoor stuff has to be a little bit restrained (townhouse), I put out a pumpkin and whatnot, but I can't go too nuts. I do a little indoor decorating, and I also decorate my cube at work, because hell, if I have to sit here 40 hours a week, it better have personality.
What's your preferred Halloween decor style: classic/traditional (skulls, pumpkins, bats), kitchsy/cute, retro, elegant/Victorian, horror/macabre?
I tend to go for mostly...nature themed? Bare branches, owls, moons, ravens, leaves, a little of the gothic/elegant thing, but a little more minimalist (like I have a couple of grey pumpkins with silhouettes on them, one a raven, one a spider). I don't really do kitsch (sp?) or horror

and finally,
What's your candy preference? fruit candies/gummies, caramel/toffee/honey candies, some chocolate (any shade of chocolate is fine, between the three of us we love it all), oh, and I do like licorice (sweet anyway, I was not a fan of salmiak when I tried it)

9/18/16

Fleece character hats? cute but not my thing, really...I tend to go more for knit hats and wacky colorful stuff. (and stuff that covers my poor ears) Some of my favorite hats with personality are a 'normal' knit hat with earflaps and little round ears on the top of the hat, a fleece hat with all sorts of multicolored strips of fleece tacked onto it to wave in the breeze, and a hat with fun fur in it that looks like I stuck my hand in a light socket.

Who here is a Raging All THINGS HARRY POTTER fan?
I’m not a raging collector of anything in particular, but I am quite fond of the HP world. (proud Hufflepuff fwiw)

Do you like things with Pumpkin (or Pumpkin Spice?)
I love pumpkin/squash food/baked goods, but I’m not overly fond of things that taste like pumpkin spice

9/17/16

Is there anything you would like to get from Japan?
pretty stationery, the weird red-bean-mochi hard candies? virtual touristy stuff like a pin or postcard

Would you object to re-using of clean mailing materials?
re-use away! I love recycling sound packing materials, and would be happy if my witch did the same.

9/16/16

Is there anything you'd particularly like to get from the UK?
touristy stuff, maybe a sweet? Oh, I love Fox's Glacier Mints and Fruits. World Market used to carry them here but haven't seen them in ages.

Socks/sockdreams/etc:
socks are good since winter is a thing here. crew or boot length would be most useful, and I do have large calves to contend with

Anyone a nail polish fan? What colors interest you?
I like it but I do have quite a bit. October from the Post is one I covet (it was on Etsy recently but I can’t justify the shipping for one nail polish). I definitely prefer shimmers and metallics, matte I’m on the fence about…don’t wear cremes or glitters (much as I love glitter, it’s so hard to get the polish off that I hate wearing it)

9/15/16

How do you feel about knitted stuff? love
Fancy? Plain? any, I wear it all

What types of things do you like to wear?
that's terribly open-ended...in terms of jewelry, clothes, accessories???

I'm into beer. How 'bout you? yup
Styles? not a huge fan of bitter stuff, most of what I drink tends to be belgian style ales and occasional weird stuff like prickly pear or grapefruit ales
And booze? I enjoy Irish whiskey and Scotch, and occasional liqueuers to mix into coffee or mixed drinks.

How do you feel about caramel? I love caramel. I make it also, but I wouldn’t say no to someone else’s. =)
Salt or no? either
With chocolate or without? without

Would you be interested in home made food items?
- garlic dill pickles
- blackberry jam
- dried honey crisp apples
- applesauce (with or without red hots)
- elderberry syrup (with honey and apple cider vinegar - great for immune boosting)
- honey from our bees
- rose petal liquor (made with our own rose petals and everclear but diluted down a bit so it doesn't knock you over)
- baked goods of your choice, what do you like or dislike?
I’d pass on applesauce since I do that myself, and probably minimal baked goods because of trying to minimize sugar, but anything else would be awesome.

Would you be interested in project bags/pouches? I love bags and pouches, so sure.

And to go along with the previous knitting question...
Are you allergic to any fiber or do you know what kind of yarn you prefer? (merino, merino cashmere, merino cashmere silk, 100% silk, 100% cashmere, merino nylon, BFL, BFL silk, etc. Or do you like acrylic?) No allergies, and my preference is just for soft things. Acrylic is totally fine, doesn’t need to be fancy. (If you’re foisting yarn off upon me, I work with everything from thread/laceweight to bulky, and everything from bamboo/silk and alpaca to acrylic.)

Would you want a quilted pot holder? Sure, I love handcrafted stuff.

Do you have any prefered flavour of shortbread? plain or citrus

9/14/16:

What are you interested in from the recent BPAL and BPTP updates? (Lilith, Lunacy, etc.) Think I have decants of everything I’m hoping to try…I think there was something in the first group of Weenies mentioned with leaves, leather and clove, and that sounds amazing.

Would you like hibiscus seeds? I will take any seeds. I love growing stuff.

Off-color needlepoint? sure…or snarky-but-work-appropriate

spring cleaning q's

Ladies and gents, if you're comfortable receiving clothing, what size(s)? Any particular types of clothing (skirts, oversized t-shirts for crafting, work clothing)? How do you feel about shoes that were bought, worn once, and never brought out of the closet again?   To answer the question myself, I'm perfectly happy with gently used clothing mostly I wear ladies' L/XL or something in the vicinity of a 14. Knee-length or longer skirts, dresses, business-casual tops, nerdy t-shirts. Shoes I'd be fine with in principle but my feet are impossible to fit. I'm also happy to take in hippie/bohemian/folkloric/why-the-heck-do-i-have-this type of stuff that I can disamantle and remake into tribal belly dance costume pieces.   vinyl toys: I'm not opposed if something fits into my interests, but not something I'd actively search out.   makeup: swatched/tested is fine. I wear mostly loose pigment shadows, warm browns, purples, tawny neutrals, and saturated colors are best, I don't really wear anything matte. Nailpolish I like, but I do have a ton. Not picky about brand, but I don't care for glitter polish because it's impossible to take off, and I'm generally not a pink person.   books i wouldn't care for: political intrigue, horror/gratuitous violence, sappy romance, and jane austen-esque books won't get much love around here   crafts: cotton remnants that could be used for quilting, decorative trims or bits of funky fabric for costumes, wood blanks for woodburning...I'm an avid crocheter, but I really should not say send yarn, I need to evict some.   kitchen stuff: I had a flat-edged bamboo spatula that was my most-used cooking utensil until it broke, haven't been able to find a replacement. Otherwise I think I'm mostly set.   hair and other accessories: I have something approaching neck-length hair that I'm trying to grow out, so bobby pins, barettes, and headscarves are welcome. I can't wear headbands at all, don't have the right head shape. Other accessories like handwarmers, shawls, scarves, especially handmade stuff--if you knit/crochet and want to make something out of your stash to send, I'm all for it.   Kids Stuff I do not haz small humans   International/regional stuff: Absolutely. I would extend this to even virtual tourist kind of things--items with a place emblazoned on them, tourist brochures, whatever.   handbags: I almost never carry a purse, so handbags as a category are not that useful, but I do use tote bags and backpacks for things   video game type stuff: computer, original nintendo, super nintendo, playstation, PS2. mostly I play rpg type games and puzzle types of games. If you get me and this question becomes relevant, I can cobble together a wishlist of games I missed.   Perfumes other that BPAL: I don't object to other perfume companies, but I wouldn't be able to name names of things I'd want--if it fits with my note preferences (or at least lack of death notes), I'm all for trying it.   Pets: 1 bullyhound mix who loves toys and treats, One psychotic macaw. Strangely, the macaw adores corks, like out of wine bottles, to demolish, so if you have a bunch of those laying around...   Bath Stuff nothing with sulfates, but otherwise sure! scrubs, bath oils, bath soaks....I like to pretend I fit in my tub once in a while.   Yarn sure...I have a ton, but I'm trying to destash, so we can play revolving yarn door here. Not picky about fiber or weight, I can use anything   CDs/DVDs sure! prefer no horror as far as movies go, and I don't listen to much jazz, rap, or country, but I'll give anything a listen once. =)   If you are interested in receiving homemade baked goods: Anything is fair game, I think. The beloved has a great fondness for chewy cookies.   If you are interested in receiving clothing, would you like any belts, sweatpants, or slippers? And do you have color/style preferences? Belts, sure. Probably something around ladies' XL in size, or those woven types where you can make a belt hole anywhere. I do prefer plainer styles, or at least not a huge buckle, sweatpants and slippers I'm proabbly set, but if you have a pair of L/XL cotton/knit pj bottoms to offload, I could use those.   If you are interested in receiving books, would you like to receive ebooks? I think my hand-me-down tablet can work as an ereader, so sure. Any format is fine.   do you have any use for a potpourri container, a bright purple reusable water bottle, or a Massage Envy gift card? Probably not any of the above   Hey, how do people feel about stripes? Say, black and white stripes? stripes are cool   collections: interesting rocks (darn geology class), shells, shark teeth, that kind of thing, pottery, damaged Windstone Editions figurines (I restore them), garden seeds, jewelry in particular inexpensive hippie/bohemian/etc. kind of stuff, dangly earrings, necklace/collars, bracelets, stuff that I can wear for dance.

my sw 2012 questions and answers

Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? not particularly. marshmallows around here either get roasted and eaten just like that, or made into rice crispy treats, or occasionally ambrosia salad.   What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. I have forumites who are pen pals or just friends who have sent things just because. Two of the most memorable are a knit-a-wombat kit (this is why I will learn to knit), and a pair of beautiful earrings that showed up as a congratulations gift because I'd been squeeing about how many gigs my troupe's gotten this fall. Even though I do that kind of thing for people too, I'm consistently blown away by the kindness and generosity of people.   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) I'll edit this later. Spices are generally welcome, I love to cook. (just not a big fan of things with fennel or anise in them--I only like licorice in licorice) As far as gadgets, I have to think about this. I could always use another tea ball. (I have one, but I have a teapot upstairs and down and carry it back and forth. )   Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? I love t-shirt fabric-type pj bottoms (size L) I have a pair of happybunny ones that are on their last legs.   What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? prefer dark and white to milk, generally speaking, though I'll eat most chocolate. <grin> I do like nuts in chocolate, fruit, etc., just not really big on salted chocolate (caramels, yes, chocolate, not so much), and I have ZERO desire to try bacon chocolate.   I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? If any place has ground/powdered marjoram, that would be a lovely thing. Interesting spices, snack-type foods, teas are always welcome. (we have a whole foods here, but not the others)   Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? bring it! as long as it's not likely to be a science experiment if the post office delays it, it's all good. (recipes are wonderful too)   I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! purple or blue magnetic nailpolish, a bag of gold bears, if they had a garden center, i'd probably blow the rest on plant stuff, if not some nice soft yarn i don't remotely need (or <very sheepishly> if they had one of those panini sticker album books for Brave i'd probably do that--i got a packet of stickers in the dollar store swap and i'm fighting the compulsion to find a book and fill it up)   What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? I like a little of everything, various Asian cuisines, Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Greek, some Italian, and of course US southern. Favorite restaurants around here are Chili House (which is a local pan-Asian kind of place), a good local pizza place, the pho place...as far as chains, my favorites around here are Five Guys and Garbanzo.   I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? can't think of anything specific, but i'm always curious about local things.   what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? i don't know that i follow anything enough to really be considered a fandom. i love star trek (classic, TNG, DS9), lord of the rings, world of warcraft, calvin and hobbes   Do you have an eReader and if so which one? negative   Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? i do but i'm pretty well stocked right now, i like fruit and spice and christmas tree scents about the best.   Marzipan? i like it, don't necessarily need it sent since i'm attempting to make my own this year (we used to make it when i was a kid, who knows how it'll work now, of course)   Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? i absolutely love the idea, i'm just not sure i'd have anywhere to put them currently   Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? i do drink, vodka's not my favorite form of liquor, but if it were flavor infused i'd be cool with that (infused whiskey would also be win) If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? i am intrigued by the idea of aussie spices. i am fortunate enough to have a specialty store in my town which periodically carries tim tams, so no shipping is necessary =)   If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? I would adore any of the above. I've never made/received socks or slippers, so that would be a novelty. I do love fingerless gloves/armwarmers in the winter. Heck, I love all of the above, honestly--I have to rotate scarves so i can wear all the awesome ones i have.   Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? I don't think anyone around would feel left out.     Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. I love food/cooking stuff, so that would be awesome.   I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? homemade food goodies are always welcome Would you be interested in having a bat adopted in your name? bat, other critter, clump of trees, etc., it's all good, i like the idea of helping causes.   How would you feel about a taste of (insert witch location here) box? I love that idea, I did the travel swap last year and absolutely loved that.   Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? hold that thought   If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images? and that one Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? Nanshe, and I keep thinking I should order a backup bottle of Aglaea before it would get discontinued. Neither is a priority since I have a couple imps of one, and a partial bottle of the other.   I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish? I have no concept of indie polishes. My (pretty ridiculous) collection consists mostly of the Sinful Colors polishes at Walgreens. I have probably most of the non-creme ones. I prefer metallic and frosty polishes over cremes or anything that's so much glitter it's impossible to get off. I do admit I'm intrigued by the metallic stuff. Stuffed things: yea or nay? <3   New Question: mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? love it   Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? or tea, or other non-alcoholic stuff. i'm pretty equal opportunity   Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials? I want to play with ALL THE THINGS. Seriously. If it's crafty and I can play with it, I want to try. I'd really love to learn to spin at some point (drop spindle) since I do so much yarn stuff. Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? I drink a lot of tea, so I'd love that.   Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue? I'm firechild on Rav, think most of the stuff in my queue is free patterns, though.     I live near this very cool Retro store (retrodrygoods.com) (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them? some of the retro candies are love. things like clove gum, licorice allsorts, the honees drops (specifically the milk and honees--i used to *love* those things when I was a kid) I don't do much in the way of retro decor or anything.   Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? my pumpkin spice tends to stay in the form of bread and pie.   What does your kitchen look like? Colors/style? earthtones, stone-look tile, wood floors, wood cabinets, the added-in decor is pretty much whatever we felt like, nothing particularly matches, our dishes and utensils are the same ones that have been around since i was young, etc.   Witchee, what are your favorite quotes?   Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays! What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike? random things? hmm. a random dislike is embarrassment. I absolutely hate being embarrassed/humiliated, and I hate seeing it done to others. (for me, strangely, this includes things like having the wait staff sing happy birthday, etc. i honestly want to crawl under the table. a random thing i love? the smell of really freaking cold nights, all ice and woodsmoke.   Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? There's an herbal shop I really like here in NYC called Flower Power (flowerpower.net) that has quite a wide selection. I can't think of anything that I would need.   If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments? I'm pretty clueless regarding most of that stuff still. Things that show up at the house are fine, my home address is in my q'aire, if you need my phone number, sure, just ask. I would however, be distinctly *not okay* with singing messages, strip-o-grams, anything that puts me at the center of attention/makes a spectacle.   What are some things you are OK with receiving gently used or homemade, and some things you absolutely do not want if they are gently used or homemade? no used undergarments or socks, please, otherwise i think it's all fine. as far as homemade, if it won't turn into a science experiment in the mail, it's fine.   And now a new question: I live near a Mast General Store (mastgeneralstore.com). It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you? I love jams, preserves, honey, local specialties, pickled veggies. culinary things are always welcome.   Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? harvesting my herbs and setting my garden to rights for the winter, i don't have any halloween traditions of my own as of yet, though i do make a point to set aside time on the day of the dead to meditate and honor my loved ones who have passed   Ninjas or Pirates? dragons =P

13days fall 16

Anything here: http://paintboxsoapworks.com/ look like something you'd like to try (assuming that you're not already ordering it)?
I love Paintbox in general…I did get several samples of Weenies so I can report back what is amazing to me.

Do you like stuff related to Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)?
I do. My heritage is not Mexican, so I don’t want to do anything appropriative, but I’ve read a fair amount on the traditions, and I’ve always celebrated my family who have passed on, I still talk to them on a daily basis, etc., and I do set up a little altar for them for Dia de los Muertos.

Knitted Items?
sure! I love it all.

Fandom/Specific Items?
I don’t really fangirl over things, but my entertainment loves are Dr. Who, Inspector Morse and spinoffs, Welcome to Night Vale, World of Warcraft, old RPGs…specific items I magpie over are interesting rocks, pottery, pins for my knapsack. I also have a thing for Minions and various mashup shirts (I have Minion Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Firefly shirts, and I will someday get the Seagulls have the phone box shirt).

Fall/Halloween Icons?
ravens, owls, falling leaves, bare branches/trees, clouds over the moon, pumpkins, gourds (all those lovely atmospheric cliches, right? )

First, talk to me about soaps- do you like them, and what kinds of scents/lather/varieties do you like?
I love soap: hot process, cold process, glycerin, hair shampoo bars…Scents pretty much follow my general scent likes—I lean kind of unisex/masculine in soap: green, herbal, woods, leather, some citrus and fruity things. I’m not a huge fan of scrubby soaps with bits of things that don’t dissolve or things like glitter in soap because they’re just scratchy to me. I’m a big fan of sugar scrubs for that particular need.

Second, tell me about teas! Favorites? Anything you'd like to try?
Favorite teas are generally black (flavored or plain) and herbal. I like green and white, also. I’m up for anything that isn’t rooibos or includes licorice root (the sweet aftertaste weirds me out). Some of my favorites are a rose mint white tea, Russian caravan, chai, and the cheapie herbal teas like Celestial Seasonings mandarin orange spice, lemon zinger, etc. I’m not a tea snob by any means. =)

Lastly, I go to Renn Faire- is there anything from there you might like?
no idea, I’m sure I’d love something, never been to a renn faire

What Weenie of year's past are you seeking from the lab?
I usually strike out on most Weenies because foodies don’t work on me, and I have a sensitivity to cinnamon. There are a few in my w/l from past Weenies that I never got to try…I wouldn’t mind tracking down a partial of 2012’s Autumn Coolness, or if that one ever comes back, the newer one…my favorite Weenie hands down is La Calavera Catrina.

Are you a shawl wearer- and if you don't wear one now, would you?
yes! love shawls, shawlettes, whatever.

Tell me about LUSH- do you like them? If so, what are some of your favorite things from there? Particularly fond scents or products? Stuff you can't stand?
I’m pretty much a Lush newbie…I know I had a little mini pot of lotion that I wasn’t super enthused with, it was cocoa butter I think and I didn’t like my hands smelling like tootsie rolls. I have a bath bomb from them that I haven’t had a chance to use yet.

Japanese goodies?
sure! stationery bits, treats…I like things like pocky because they’re not super sweet, gummy candies, and some lovely person once sent me a candy that was like a red bean mochi in candy form, and that was kind of awesome. I’d be interested in savory snacks, too.

So, in this swap, you open a goodie every day. I have seen this gift direction done several different ways, but I am interested in which you are most keen to do. Would you rather:
I’m happy with whatever…it’s kind of fun to have a specific goodie to open on special days (ex: getting a pair of halloween socks or something on the 30th to wear for Halloween), but however my scarecrow wants to organize is cool.

The Witch is In/Out sign?
I have that for my cube at work.

Pumpkin Spice or No Pumpkin Spice?
not so much with the pumpkin spice…I LOVE pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread…I don’t really want to be inundated with it in other things. Spice things that are not necessarily pumpkin are welcome, cinnamon tea, stuff like that. I’m not much on foodie scents though.

Milk, white, and/or Dark Chocolate?
white and dark are my preferences, but the beloved is a milk chocolate person, so anything is fair game, I’m happy to share treats

Do you like Yankee Candle? Anything you want from there?
honestly we don’t use a lot from them. mistletoe votives or tarts, or something more outdoorsy/clean

Anything you have your eye on at BPTP?
claw polishes like Le Lethe, Oneiroi, Temple of Dreams, Unseelie….if they come out with a Weenie polish in a shimmer or pearl warm brown, I would be all over that…I think there was one last year and I didn’t snag it

Bath and Body Works - yay or nay?
sadly, *hell* no. I don’t know what’s in their stuff, but it breaks me out terribly.

Sock Dreams?
I own precisely one thing from Sock Dreams: a pair of armsocks that I got in the spring cleaning swap and they’re awesome, I love them. I’m down for fun socks from there or otherwise with the caveat that I have big calves, so knee socks are maybe not a great plan.

13 Days 2014 questions

Fandoms: Harry Potter, Dr. Who, Rick Riordan's Olympus books (not quite as much with the Egyptian ones), Firefly, to an extent World of Warcraft. Oh, and I adore Minions and Minion Mashups (I have a Firefly, a Star Wars, and The Minions have the Tardis on t-shirts already) , old school Final Fantasy stuff (like pre FFX) Fandoms in which I have *no* interest: MLP, Supernatural, Walking Dead, True Blood, Frozen Wax/oil burner — I have…3 wax warmers? So stuff for them would be welcome…more on the clean/woodsy/citrusy spectrums of things, please. I live with very picky noses. Loose fancy tea: Always. I love most tea, flavored or otherwise; black teas are favorites, oolong, green, white, and herbals are also loved. I'm not a fan of rooibos, and I don't care for anise/licorice flavors in tea. I'm also totally happy with tea bags since they're really handy for work. Incense: Sadly no, the sensitive noses again. I have to sit outside and burn incense on the back patio if I want to use it, so needless to say, I don't do this often. Autumn activities: Garden harvesting and cleanup, spending early mornings outside with a hot drink and a shawl, going to hike up in the park when the elk come down and the leaves start turning, drinking an ungodly amount of fresh cider, carving a pumpkin. New Question! I'm in Japan, anything specifically Japanese-y you want? I love pretty stationery. I tend to lean toward minimalist and elegant when it comes to designs, but something small and cute would be awesome, too.   New Question: Please briefly describe (color, style, preferred type of beads) or provide a picture of (if it is suitable), the type of necklace (if any) you would be interested in getting. If you do not like necklaces, what kinds of jewelry (if any) would you want to wear? I am open to most anything, just no superlong stuff. I think a 24" chain is as long as I would want, otherwise I get hung up on stuff. I mostly wear silver tones, but I also like copper, occasionally some brass or mixed metals. I wear earrings, bracelets, and anklets as well. Oh, I could actually use a cool lanyard since I have an ID badge around my neck for work and right now it's on a boring old company lanyard. New question: What about hot chocolate/malted drinks like ovaltine? Never actually had Ovaltine, but I like chocolate malts and malt balls, so I imagine I'd enjoy it. I do like hot chocolate.   If you said that you are interested in books (or DVDs or any relatively big standalone sort of item), would you be okay with having multiples of such items spread over a couple of days, or would you prefer 13 distinct themish packages? Whatever works best for my swapper!   How into the day themeing mentioned in the first post are you? All themed? A few maybe if they are fun? Not at all? Entirely up to my dear swapper. If you think something sounds fun to do, go for it, I'm sure I'll get a kick out of it, too.   Speaking of DVDs - are you interested in receiving movies and if so, what sort? Sure, but I'd have no idea what. I will say I don't like horror at all. I don't mind suspense, or classically bad cheese like Army of Darkness, but normal horror ends up either boring or sickening in my experience.   Back to the books - if you said you would like books, would you prefer I send you, say, my favorite Halloween anthology or something else spooky/scary, or something off your wishlist/want-to-read on goodreads? As with movies, nothing too horrific. I can handle a little dark and creepy…for example a couple vampire books I love: Let the Right One In and Robin McKinley's Sunshine. Process question: Do you want to know who is sending to you right away, or would you prefer to be surprised on the last day, to the extent possible? Likewise, do you have a preference for specifically numbered packages or for reach in and grab according to your fancy? I'm fine with whatever on both counts, reveal when you'd like, be ninja, make me guess, whatever. =) And packages, again, whatever. All numbered, some numbered, some free day, all free day, whatever you'd like to do. Would you be interested in solid perfume? What about lip balm? Solid perfume sounds fun in theory—I wanted to buy one of the Pink Sand scent balms from Paintbox this summer, but I was too slow. I like the idea of lightly scented balms I can use on my nails/cuticles because everything cracks in the cooler weather. Lip balms are awesome and always welcome. I have no fewer than 3 in rotation at a time. There was a lot of mention of not wearing costumes/not being allowed to at workplaces. Would you be interested in goth style or Halloween-themed(pumpkins, ghosts, etc.) normal clothes to wear instead, and what would be suitable? I don't know about specifically halloween themed since that limits wearability (I do have a nifty t-shirt I was given last year decorated with a skull entirely made of sewing notions—safety pins and thread bobbins, and that's kind of awesome). In general I would prefer something that could be worn all season, fall-themed, or I dunno, something with a raven on it, stuff like that. I'm a college student and my job is super casual, so as long as there's no profanity on anything, it's all good.   I'm going to Rose City Comic Con during the shopping window. Any exhibitors/vendors/comics/etc. you're particularly interested in? No flipping clue, but it sounds awesome. I like small bits of things a lot—postcard sized prints, buttons I can stick on my backpack, stuff like that. Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos stuff: Love it. Does anything from this shop catch your eye (https://www.etsy.com/shop/DebaucherousBathBody)? body/perfume scents: Spider Silk!, Big Bad Wolf, Debaucheorus Amber, Hedonistic, Mr. Hyde, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, The Queen Bee, Moonshine, Black Honey, Prince Charming, Buttermilk Nectar lip balm: sweet nectar, blossom, gyokuro imperial, lucinda, cherry limeade, orxata, opuntia, yasmin   Do you have aversions to any animals or insects? Not a huge fan of centipede-y type stuff, but I like most other insects, bees, wasps, and moths are probably my favorite creepy crawlies. I would appreciate not getting anything rattlesnakee-ish, since we deal with enough live ones out here, but I don't have a phobia or anything. How do you feel about canned foods like jams and things along those lines? sure! jams, jellies, pickled veggies, fruit butters, any of the above would be welcome Do you have a favourite colour scheme? I do a lot with browns and blues together, and I like neutral color schemes with jewel tones as accents, stuff like that? I just generally love rich, deep colors. How do you feel about stickers (and stationery in general)? Stickers are great in theory but I forget to use them. I love stationery, plain pretty paper or something with a simple design on it   How do we feel about fibercrafting (knit, crochet, etc.)? wearables? crafted critters? If you would like a scarf or something similar, would you like it to be themed, like fall colors, or have a skull or other halloweenie motif/border? I'd be happy with anything along those lines. More subtle on a halloween theme so I could wear it more than a couple days a year though would be better.   What makes you feel pampered? I don't do pampered very well. I like savoring occasional indulgent things (I can make a really good chocolate bar last for a week, and I'm known to eat desserts in mousebites). I love making a cup of really nice loose leaf tea on a chilly day and taking it outside in the garden while wearing my baby alpaca lace shawl, that to me is totally self-pampering: nice soft fuzzy stuff, delicious tea... We've covered what critters you don't like, but what about the critters that you DO like? What are your favorite animals/creatures, real or imagined? dragonflies, moths, bees, dogs, foxes, coyotes, birds, bobcats, wolves....hell, I love most critters, but there are a few specifics I'm totally fine with Halloweenie critters like bats and spiders and cats as well. =)   Is there anything specifically Canadian you'd like? Maple things, chocolate bars, or any of our creepy chip flavours? I like maple candy, no idea about weird chip flavors, honestly. I'm always curious about area-specific stuff.     Does anything from Paintbox Soapworks catch your eye? love her stuff. Bookkeepers butter is the best nail/knuckle/cuticle stuff ever, but it also lasts forever so I don't need anymore right now. =) Scents: Blackbird, The Englishman, Bees Lament sounds incredible, Gooseberry Beach, Aquae Sulis, High in the 70s Stuff: Soaps ( just nothing with glitter on it), Sorbetto, scent balm, wax melts in Gooseberry or Aqua   Is there is any TAZO tea you have a hankering for? Zen, Awake, Passion, China Green Tips, Vanilla Roibois, Calm, Refresh? (tea bags in a tin) Passion is an old favorite, the apricot vanilla white sounds kind of interesting, too How about any Teavana tea? (loose leaf) Yunnan Golden Pu-Erh, maybe the Earl Grey Creme, a plain Oolong, sangria punch black, Fig Rose, Dragonfruit Devotion, I'm kind of curious about the Tomato Lime Cocktail. How about Starbucks coffee beans? If so, ground (and for what kind of filter) or whole bean? no thank you. How about Starbucks coffee via (italian, columbia, anniversary, vanilla latte?) or Iced coffee via (caramel or regular?) Fruit flavored via (berry hisbiscus, cool lime, strawberry lemonade?) Pumpkin Spice Latte via? no thanks Starbucks K-cups or Verismo pods? nowhere to use them Coffee/tea travel mugs or ceramic home mugs? I love mugs. Probably ok on travel mugs (I have a coffee tumbler and a tea/water tumbler, because coffee flavors everything), but I could use a ceramic mug for work. I realized I'd like to make chai and bring it with me, but my travel mugs are not microwave safe. Coffee maker (french press) or tea steeper? I could use a spare tea steeper that would hold enough tea for a 16 oz mug, so I don't have to bring my tea ball from home for work. Anything else from Starbucks/Teavana? Syrups, honey, whatever? I honestly wouldn't know what. I like honey in my tea/coffee occasionally, or a little flavoring in my coffee, I don't know if they make tiny bottles of syrups, but I occasionally like vanilla, hazelnut, or whatever the cinnamon dolce stuff is.   How would you feel about a gently-used card game? For example, something I may have purchased several years ago and maybe played with my daughter *twice* before she became a moody teenager, and too cool for card and/or board games? sure! i can wrangle someone into playing with me.     Alcoholic beverages in your goodies-- yay or nay-- if yay, what kind? don't do anything that you're worried will get you in trouble. hard liquor-wise I tend to stay on the whiskey and scotch side of things.   CANDY CORN--- YAY OR NAY? yay. not sure about all the wild flavors coming out, pumpkin spice I would probably pass on, but i think I saw a caramel apple one that I'd try? I do actually like normal candy corn, I just have to figure out how to humidify it out here in the high plains.     Name at least one thing that you really wouldn't like to receive in your package. anything particularly gory.     I have eyeshadow pigments which have been decanted from--as in the powder tapped out into another container, never used directly. (I don't use very much makeup, though I love it, so I keep shadow pigments clean so I can safely share.) Would a jar of pigment handled thus bother you or are you ok with cosmetic-type stuff that has not been directly touched? Totally cool with that.   For those with fiber allergies, is it ok if you get, say, an ornament/amigur-whatsit yarn thing that has wool in the blend, as long as it's not something to be worn? Also, because I don't know, do people with wool allergies generally also have sensitivity to other fibers like alpaca? I have no allergies, but scratchy stuff near the skin is not my best plan, I will scratch the hell out of myself if even a clothing tag makes me itch.

12 days swap 2017

Are you coveting anything currently available from Haus of Gloi?
Scrubs are always useful, and Snow Wolf, His Sweater, and Rosy Cheeked all sound nice, scent-wise

Are you coveting anything from the Paintbox Soapworks update that just happened?
Yuletide Mariner is one of my favorite scents from Paintbox

Are you coveting anything from Cocoa Pink?
never used anything from them

How do you feel about pomanders?
sure!

How do you feel about savor soaps?
scrubs or moisturizers in the non-foody range, like pipe smoke or the balsam and cedar, or something citrusy sounds good.

Or Perfectly Posh?
never heard of them, so no idea

Favorite animals?
all of them! dogs, foxes, dragons, frogs, little songbirds, hummingbirds, even the fuzzy wee beastie that ate all of my pea seedlings last spring (my neighbor has rabbits...like, ALL of them it seems).

Weird question, but it's on my mind: Do you have a strong preference for consumables (soaps, candles, food, etc.) over other stuff?
not a strong preference, but I like things I can use or things that have a purpose, and probably not a huge amount of soap-type stuff because I can only use so much.

Would you be interested in one of the Colorpop pallets? Anything else from Colourpop?
I have so. many. eyeshadows. probably set on the makeup front, though they look fun.

Would you like any holiday music? if so, do you prefer a CD or MP3?
either format is fine, and sure...holiday, non-holiday, quirky stuff you listen to because you hate holiday music, it's all good.

Do you like toffee or fudge?
love both

Do you have feelings about fruitcake? We're talking whiskey soaked homemade fruitcake, not a brick in a festive tin.

I've never had actual fruitcake, so I'd be down to try this. I am familiar with the old Claxton fruitbrick, and we make stollen every year and lebkuchen, which are sweet bread/cookie things with candied fruit (and I love both), but I've never actually had real fruitcake.

Any strong nail polish and/or makeup preferences?
I think I'm basically set on makeup, though I'm still hunting for a nice brick/tawny red family lip stain.

Nail polish I don't wear often, but I love shimmery/metallic/etc., and kind of intrigued by mattes, but not a fan or cremes or anything with a lot of glitter. If I have to fight to get it off later, I won't generally wear it.

Are you interested in anything from my etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com...winklentwilight(bags, stuffies, hats, fingerless mitts, lefse cozies...)
I love the knot bag style and that fox fabric is adorable.

How do you feel about amigurumi (little crochet stuffies...animals, characters, ornaments, etc.)?
love them, ornaments or stand-alone little things.

If I were to crochet you something wearable, do you have any preferences? Do you like hats, scarves, gloves, other? And would you prefer something fun and whimsical (e.g. fox face hat or owl mittens), something delicate and pretty (e.g. lacy wraps or scalloped boot cuffs), or just something like a basic, no frills beanie or cowl? Do you have a Ravelry account and a list of favorite patterns?

whimsical, pretty, basic, I love it all. Cowls, hoods, hats, handwarmers (just the tube with a thumbhole kind rather than the short finger version, I like my fingers free), or mittens, decorative scarf/shawlette type stuff that I can wear indoors as an accent rather than hidden under a heavy coat ...I'm not too picky and I LOVE wearing handmade things.

on ravelry I'm firechild, I have favorites and a ginormous queue, some for me, some for other people/projects

What kind of hot drinks do you like, and if tea or coffee or cocoa or cider or alcohol, give specifics?
love any tea except rooibos, or anything with licorice root
coffee, generally medium roast, no flavor or lightly flavored (though I can always mix in some plain)
I like hot cocoa, generally not flavored though, just plain chocolate version.

What kind of candles do you like, scent, etc?
pine/christmas tree scents (like Yankee mistetoe for reference), clean or citrusy scents mostly, votive, tealight, little jars, wax melts, any are usable around here.

Mixes or seasonings for the kitchen?
I love to cook, so sure. About the only herbs I don't cook with much are rosemary, thyme, and tarragon, but anything not heavy on any of those is great.

What is something new in your life that you wish you had more "things" for?
other than knowledge/brainspace I wouldn't know how to answer this...patterns on ravelry?

What are your top places to get a gift card from? amazon, joann fabrics are probably my most-used shops, penzey's spices   Which holiday symbols/themes do you like the best (or least)? Such as Santas, snowflakes, reindeer, etc.
My favorite winter visual themes are snow/ice, winter landscapes, winter plants (holly, spruce trees, etc.), animals   Do you like puzzles? yes, both jigsaw type puzzles and brain teasers, especially word games.
