SW Questions & Answers Valentine's Round

What is everyone's take on Valentine's Day? My family celebrated. Mom always got us chocolates or something little like that. She and Dad exchanged gifts (small ones) too. But in my own relationships I never really celebrated. That sounds weird right? I'll still call my family and wish them a Happy Valentines Day, but my husband and I will celebrate an anti-Valentines Day at the house and eat pizza and watch horror movies. I can't articulate it very well, but I think I have a hang up about forced holidays? I don't know. UGH, my brain's not working tonight.   Do you like traditional Valentine's Day colors (red, pink, white, more?) ? Hrmmm... I was about to say no, but I realize I wear alot of white, decorate a lot with dark red, and I actually secretly like pink. However, if that actually gets out it may ruin me.   A Favorite love poem? Can't say as I have one, but those quotes bonny came up with upthread were just stunning. I'll have to look that guy up.   What's everyone's favorite semi-obscure (or underappreciated!) animal? Capybara   What is your favorite sign that spring is coming? Spring flowers blooming!   Knit Things? Yes please!! I love all things knit and I tend to run cold so all manner of things knitted are awesome for me!!!   For those of you with pets, would you like pet things? Toys, treats, etc? We have 3 cats, they love those little plastic springs and knit toys with catnip. Unfortunately we can't give them much in the way of treats since they've all had trouble with crystals or other renal problems and we have to really be careful what we feed them!!   Favorite Love Story: Ooooh, this is a really good question. I like beads, and shiny things, and the overall celebratory vibe. I LOVE masks and masquerades!   Homemade Sewn Stuff? Any fabrics to avoid? As someone who is notoriously anti-craft, I am loving all things crafted - by other people who aren't me. So that's a yeah!!! As for fabrics, I'm pretty easy. I'm allergic to fabric softener though.   kitchen-related gadgetry? Hrrrm, sure. I'm pretty well set with peelers, and garlic presses and the like, but someone mentioned a little finger scrubber for veggies? That'd be cool!   Would you like new nail polish? Sure! I like fun colours, but no orange please. I'm also coveting some of the Trading Post polishes so you can get an idea of the colours I like there. And sparkly stuff. I love me some shiny sparkly things   Do you like incense and/or scented candles, and are you able to burn them in your home? If so, what kinds of scents do you like? I tend to scent my home with BPAL using imps and a lightbulb warmer. I have 3 cats so open flame and smoke is not a good idea!   Boxes? For Bpal (bottles and/or imps) or otherwise Yes please!! I definitely could always use more storage!   Would you use a natural sea sponge? Sure!   Bacon chocolate? I cannot imagine this would taste good. Although I love bacon and I love chocolate... so?   Coffee, hot chocolate, or tea? Coffee, tea and then hot chocolate, in order of preference. But I do love me some tea, so maybe coffee and tea are tied in my estimation.   Would you like some of my favorite recipes? Sure! I like cooking, it's just hard to decide what to make some days!   posters, pictures, art? YES! I love vintage pieces and old play posters especially.   Would you like soaps? Especially from Paintbox? And ESPECIALLY the Valentines Special Edition Soaps?? Yes please. Dark Heart looks especially awesome.   New question--I'm calling this "could never happen in a million years": Your Witch is perusing the wares at a local yard sale. S/he looks down and sees [insert impossibly rare item that you've always wanted but could never afford] with a $5-10 sticker on it. Sheepishly s/he takes it to the guy behind the folding table. "Do you know what this is?" s/he inquires. The gentleman states that it belonged to his mother/sister/grandmother/Great Aunt Beulah and he thinks it's for, like, hair or something. With a trembling hand, s/hes pays the man and heads home with the inconceivable riches. So, what is this unobtainable miracle your Witch found? This is an awesome question! I'm taking an aromatherapy course currently so I'd have to say, Arctander's Perfume and Flavor Materials of Natural Origin. I have been lusting after this for years.   What about UNTOUCHED make-up samples or any other type of girly-sample thing? I don't wear much makeup ever so not for me.   Salted caramels? No thanks!   Imagine that someone hands you their wallet and sends you into a really good bakery. They have everything, from breads to brownies, cookies to croissants, anything you could imagine, and you're allowed to pick out five things for yourself. What do you pick? Rosemary Garlic Bread Blueberry Scones Chocolate croissants Honestly, that's all I would need to be a happy camper.   Sockdreams? Good GODS yes!   Do you like alcoholic beverages? If so, what is your preference (beer, wine, liquor...)? Not much into alcohol these days. Wines always but I don't think you could ship those across borders.   Steampunk? (Love, protection, money, etc.) Sure. My husband and I are trying to move to be closer to our families, but we need jobs before we can do so. Sure, that sounds awesome.   Since everyone is spending the same amount of money on this swap, would you be interested in seeing the cost breakdown of each item in your package? If my witch wants to share, sure, but I don't need to know.   Do you like guessing who your witch is, or would you prefer to know? Do you mind knowing? I don't mind knowing but I'd rather be surprised!   If it's going to be obvious who your witch is, would you rather she played the ninja and sent one big box at the end, or smaller packages along the way? Whatever's easiest for her. I doubt I would recognize an address, regardless if I've swapped with her before.   What color are your eyes? Hazel/greenish   If you had to choose a color for a nightie to sleep in what color would it be? Any colour.   Are you opposed to vegan baked goods? Or baked goods in general? I loved baked goods!   What's your favourite flower? Calla lily, lavender, roses, carnations, chrysanthemums.   For those that have dogs, if I were to knit them a sweater, what colour would you like it to be? I don't have a dog!   Lip balm: Yay or nay? If yay, what are your favorite kinds (brands, consistency, whatever)? YAY! I've recently become enamoured with it. I like balms and glosses. I'd love to try the Italian Sausage from Soapopotamus, or The Great Gustavo Lip Liniment from The Morbid The Merrier or the Redwood Lip Tint or Rhubarb Lip Tint from Flourish Bath & Body.   How do you feel about home-canned goods, like pickles, jelly, preserves, stuff like that. Um, pandas, bears, cats etc   Is there anything you've had to give up that you really miss or want back? Maybe something a witch could help out with? Not really. I tend to be quite a minimalist. I purge our house about twice a year really. I'm we're not using it in a 6 month period (or 1 year for seasonal things) then it's gone. We don't have a lot of storage in our house (we live in a century cottage with no closets) so everything is OUT. Which means that if it's not useful or productive in some way, it's really just taking up space.   If you were a student at Hogwarts, what house would you be in? Honestly, I'd have to cop to Slytherin. I get the job done.   I'm a space junky. Love anything galaxy, space, star, etc related. I'm even getting a milky way tattoo one day. I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies (ok, don't trout me witch, my husband mocks me enough as it is!), and my dad was a HUGE TNG fan so it was always on at our house, but I never got into it. No.   If you like tea, what are your favorite kinds? Fruity, sweet, chai, plain, black, green, red, white? I love all types of tea. I prefer loose for home and bagged for work. I like sweet, chai, black, green, white. I'm not so much into fruity tea but if it's mixed with black tea I'm game. My favourites currently are Pear Cream, Blueberry Rooibus Cream, and Vanilla Caramel.   What's your Patronus? Non-Potter fans, what's your Spirit Animal? Panther or lynx. Some kind of dangerous cat.   Do you have any personal heroes / heroines and why? Hrm... Susan B. SW Q&A: Hallowe'en Round 2010

10/9/10 I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both? Yes! A millionty times over!!   10/7/10 Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting? I think I have everything anyone could possibly want to know about me answered in this blog or on my questionnaire, really!   10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? I'm not one for magazines. I don't like the idea of paper.   would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? No thanks, Lush isn't really my bag.   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? I love market bags, and giant purses, but lately I've been hankering for a beaded clutch.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you?   Top Ten Notes: 1.) Musk (all kinds usually)/Patchouli (it's a tie) 2.) Vanilla 3.) Amber 4.) Tobacco 5.) Lilac 6.) Myrrh 7.) Lavender 8.) Woods 9.) Honey 10.) Booze I usually do well with "orientals" or "musks" or usually "woods" too. Sugar can be problematic, I tend to make it go to maple syrup or caramel. Rose I usually turn to cat pee/ammonia, and jasmine amps to high heaven on me.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general?
