My extra SW2015 Q&A answers

OK, this is my first official Switch Witch, and I'm hella nervous.....but I keep telling myself, if I got thru the website and forum, made it thru all that nervousness, and here I am a year into the addiction, I can do this too, right!!!?? right!! SO, I will answer most or all of any Q&A stuff I see ertaining to SW2015 here!!!!   *****friend me on facebook, I'm a member of all the BPAL groups except GUSPers   Pumpkin? Well, I like the Starbucks PSL's, like fancier pumpkin chocolates, but am not ALL THE THINGS PUMPKIN!!! Pumpkin seeds, sure, but how about fleur d'sel chocolate covered caramels, or cut covered caramel apples!!!???? OH YES!! Now we're talkin!!   Booze? I do like a good drink every now and then, but don't drink often, too busy with kids. My hard drink preferences are margaritas, fruity stuff, cosmos, but I like wines, not too dry, sweeter side, and beers. I once lived over in Germany, so I dig dubbels, ales, IPA's, weisens, etc.   Decorating? If I can figure out how to get pics of my house on my new laptop and post them here I will!!! I married my husband for love and his IT Tech skills! I build a lot of the rooms around focal key pieces, which usually are art or knickknacks I've collected over the years.   Penny Dreadful? YES PLEASE!!!! I love this show.   Coffee and tea preferences? I love both, but can elucidate. I prefer cappuccino froth, but understand the need for latte's, I like hazelnut, white choc, tiramisu, crème brulee. As far as teas go, the blacker the better. I used to be a barista, co coffee and tea doesn't affect me much like others. Hot cocoa is no Bueno. Cider I prefer cold. Loose leaf teas are fine, I can grind beans, I like Harrogate, Adagio, Teavana, Tazo, pretty open...just no chai or overly fruity stuff please and thank you.   My sense of humor? Dirty-minded, sarcastic, dark. Gods I am so not up to date on comedians, but over the years I've like Robin Williams, Bobcat Goldthwaite, S'more, Chris Tucker, Judy Tenuta, Emo, Gallagher, MTV's The State, Kids in the Hall, Kristen Wiig, Rebel Wilson, Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black, John Stewart, George Carlin, to name a few. I like drag queens too!!! Reading is fundamental!!!   Board games? WE are firmly in a Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity, Uno, Life, Monopoly house, lol!!   Is there anything I DO NOT want? At this time, nope, can't think of anything   Socks? FUN FUN FUN!! I have a penchant for Nightmare Before Christmas, gothy, bats/skulls, or Halloween ones   Thing{s} I would like to learn more about? Canning. I know about dehydrating, but not canning. I would like to learn more about clay metal, metalworking, cabochoning, decoupaging, always willing to learn more about historical costume, tech terms, how to sew corsets maybe, or bustling. Oh yeah survival skills and camping techniques would be cool...I never was a Girl scout, too morbid. Ancient History and buffing up on Mythology.   What would I like to do more of? I have dedicated myself the last 10 years to raising kids. While I do not regret that, as a mom it means ignoring my own needs or wants. I used to do a shit ton of crafting, aspiring to open my own business. I actually vended goth clubs with things I made, as well as co-op'd art from other friends. I used to aspire to sew grand outfits. I have ignored that. It was my art, so I have ignored a part of myself. Both kids are now in school. The youngest in in K, the oldest in 4th. I have major back problems which limit my mobility, so I figure, if I have alone time, and usually have to sit, why not get back into doing what I love. I like taking nature, architectural and cemetery photography too!   What would I like to know more about? There are so many beautiful, fun, wondrous things on this planet, I cannot name just one or 2!! Arts!! just start there!! Arts!   -------------- Cookie butter? what is that? Sounds evil and tempting.   Are there any pieces of art that speak to me? I like to many different artists, mediums, and styles that it's hard to peg one, but I can tell you I have a lot of fairy art, including Kinyuko Y Craft, Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, spiritual art from Alex Gray and Susan Seddon-Boulet, I collect Frida Khalo things, art from artists who sold in the squares of New Orleans, a lot of cemetery photography, art of Celtic, Egyptian nature, and Day of the Dead. Kachina's speak to me, totems, I've always wanted a Ball joint doll, but couldn't afford one. I like weird, morbid, dark, quirky, ancient. I have always liked art thru history, and styles in fashion as well as furniture.   What things from the Lilith or BPTP update am I interested in? I still need to review the descriptions better, but I did see notes I like on a quick examination. I have not joined any decant circles for this round, but am a member of Deeks Decants   Knitted or crocheted items? SURE!! fingerless gloves, hipster beanies, super long scarves. I can dig up links soon   **I intend to blog about links on webpages I like, give ideas***   What things do I want to do? go back to New Orleans, take art jewelry classes. What things do I want to get? Fluevogs!!!!! because shoes! a new espresso machine, so I can save money!!! Decorative shelves to store fragile collectibles and herbs. ------------- Lush? oh hai, yeah!!!!! I like Olive Branch wash, face scrubs for sensitive skin, bath bombs. more Karma!   hand-made or store bought? Quality can be found, as well as personality, in hand made items. The dedication of the artist within the item. Store bought is ok, but I like personal touch when possible.   Spicy? OH HELL YES!!!! I have been known to put scorpion pepper salt on everything!!!! I can go to a 10, but my aging tummy prefers maybe an 8.

More SW stuff I saw

Do I like craft kits? Yes, if more personal and mom n pop, rather than Michael's. Don't get me wrong....sometimes stores offer neat things, but I find more inspiration from other people, art and craft shows, one on one instruction, than vague paper instructions and cheap plastic construction, if that makes sense   DO I like to cook? All the time! I have to be careful of fat content, due to the oldest spawn's dietary restrictions (Pancreatitis), so I like to cook from scratch, fresh, local if possible, yummy. I run the gamut on cultural foods. I can cook a variety of ethnic foods, but somehow I always seem to feel like we repeat dishes weekly.. the kids are picky, the man is picky, about what they eat. I am picky about quality, am not fond of GMO's, pre-made boxed or frozen. I like a lot of gourmet foods. New recipes are always accepted gratefully!   Are there any GC scents I would like to own? OH most assuredly! I'm a year into this addiction, and own approx.. 65 bottles, many of which are LE's, and not so many GC's. I don't have a lot of money to divest into collecting, adulting ain't easy!! Name 3 BPAL scents I've tried and would like more of? Startled Toad, Padawan Killer Swarm, Al-Azif LE Paintbox Soapworks? Never had pleasure to try.   Do I mind early or late reveals in the swap? I have no preference.   What quirky genres, or items do I like? We're into faery festivals! I like Horror conventions, Ren fairs, steampunk, and death! lol....'Goth' was not a phase..it stuck.   Makeup? Sometimes, for special events, I so don't have time for morning beauty rituals, but every now and then I get lucky.... Easiest is a gift card to Sephora, if possible. I like eyeshadows in crazy darker or stunning colors, glitter is awesome! Kat Von D, Makeup Forever, Urban Decay, Benefit, Ben Nye, Nars, Aveda, MAC, I.D., I have been coveting a new eye shadow palette, and replacing my beloved Tony & Tina Cosmic Lights powders, my T & T black herbal eyeliner pencil with silver glitter and miss my Dior Plastic Shine black gloss. I'm a nail biter, but I can always pass nail polish on to my lovely girls!   Fashion? Being me, goth if we must label, people think I'm just into black. I used to train in corsets, still own some, but am having weight issues *hate my body* My back isn't very fashion friendly these days. I love Victorian clothing, vintage, velvets, brocades, hoops and bustles, long and flowy like Stevie Nicks. I like colors, just darker ones I'm going to start trying to up cycle clothes, I like that creativity. I am not opposed to dressing up. I own wings, dread falls, fangs, and would love head accessories, feathers, wings, anything beautiful and unique. I admire and follow a few designers too, but again, adulting stops me from spending. I did just get my first piece of Eileen Fischer. Her stuff for plus-sized women is exquisite!!! Wouldn't mind replacing and modifying band t's- my dad long ago gave away my Dead Can Dance, Thrill Kill Kult, Siouxsie, and Christian Death beloveds   * jewelry addition*, I have 4 holes per ear, and usually have my plugs in the lower, hoops to jingle and a stud in each top hole. *Adagio teas-tried Dorian blend once, there was something about it I didn't like. Don't know why   Not a video game person   I like to garden, but for now am currently limited to pots on 2 decks, and a small patch of flower bed. I'm not fond of annuals, more into perennials. I grow veg, herbs, and plants that are native and/or hard to find.   Gift card vouchers? FOR! I listed some in the questionnaire. ADD ON**- catalog called Country Door, I like their Halloween stuff, their gothic or antiqued wall mirrors, candle holders, and industrial storage items. I like IKEA too.   Have I seen anything lately that makes me say HOLY F*#K? Inside wall 'living gardens', The gorgeous new Fluevogs, Halloween décor from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma. I've been getting my eye caught looking at all the really beautiful adult coloring books in stores. I always see cute things when we go to festivals....and usually just let it go.   Name 5 small things I could use but never get myself? Decent make-up brushes, Tocca Cleopatra fume, Pandora silver crown ring, handheld fresh herb grinder for cooking, nightmare before xmas socks   Do I like stuff from farmers markets? Soaps, candles, spice blends, beeswax items

alas, more SW2015 tidbits

What other companies have you tried, want to try, or test? I originally got some frimps from my Enabling bestie in 2008, sat on them, and found them in 2013. I had Anactoria and Antikythera Mech in BPAL, and got 1 Possets- Cir De Coeur (LOVED IT, it spilled tho ), 1 NA- QwbHwt, and a few Violette Market. They were all old. I own Kitchen and Manon by SS, and recently got my first imps of Arcana. I have been able to sniff more NA and an Orpheus. I am ignorant to other companies, but have some history with craftier/expensive smaller companies like Creed, Bond NYC, L'Artisan, etc.   Analog, digital, or both? the genres of music I love most are not ones you usually find in normal stores. There is 1 store in Philadelphia, 40 mins from me, that is a goth/industrial mecca, and it's prolly one of the last of it's kinds. Used to be called Digital Ferret, it's name has changed, but works with IsoTank, Metropolis, and other small labels. I wish I could afford to buy cd's like I used to, my aspirations leaned towards Dj'ing, so anymore, I use iTunes, and free radio programs, but I still love music. I consider myself behind the times on what's current. I used to hit concerts all the time, as well as clubs, but adulating and tight funds, or my effin bad back, get in the way. I will be hitting a few concerts, yay!!!! in the next month.   Do I have affinity for any specific animals? Bats, ravens, wolves, dragonflies, and foxes.   Kitchen needs or wants....let's put it this way. WE could always use gadgets, but make due with what we have. Seasonings wise, I've really been into flavored salts, oils and vinegars. I put that shit on everything! lol   ok...now I need to start looking at online shopping ideas I can give links or examples to for ideas for my witch

SW Ketchup

Computers, types, games, etc- I am so not tech-savvy. My man does it all for me. I don't game on PCs, just my phone (what's built-in, google free, or off Facebook).

Purses- I try not to have them when I can, wallets are easier and light, but bags are usually black, big enough to fit stuff, books, mabe kid toys, rather than smaller,

Dressing up for Halloween- Anymore I focus more on the kids and less on myself, but when I do, and it's on the fly, it's either a fairy or a Catrina (day of the dead). I'd always appreciate any items related to those themes. Ps in Nov we go to Faerie Con, where I let all my fairy-side fly!

Comics/graphic novels?- I haven't bought any in say, 8 yrs, but like Lenore, JTHM, Gloom Cookie, LKH Anita Blake comics
and have interest in the Walking Dead Stuff

What stores at the Mall do I beeline for? Aveda, Lush, L'Octaine, Kiehls, Nordstrom, Sephora, Target

last huzzah at the Ren Faire?- I love Ren fairs, and always see more stuff than I can afford!! A gorgeous chemise in black, or surcoat, wings, tribal stuff, statuary, blades, the list is endless.

Subscription boxes?- NO, but I WISH! I'd go for makeup ones, or goth ones

Do I use tarts, incense, candles? TOTALLY all of the above. However, I have tons of incense, so pass. Candles are used more than tarts too. I like soy-based, and have a bit of a thing for pickiness here. Yankee are ok, Archipelago, Root, hand-made, Dark Candles, never had a BPTP one.

IKEA? Sure!

Office supplies? Not really a hound, by stationary that's quirky is always good for BPAL-related needs

Socks?- Over the knee that'd fit well on these plus-sized thighs, lol, I like em, dark, quirky, striped, gothy, antique and vintage.

What kind of candy do I like?- his is a hard one. When the kids go trick or treating, the candy lasts for months! and usually, goes in the trash. I search and sneak off only with Sweettarts, 100 grand, reece's pb cups, pixie stix. I don't really eat candy much. OOOh, unless you count the chocolate covered sea salt topped caramels from Williams Sonoma.

How do I feel about animal products? It's good to be ethically-sourced, from natural deaths, bones and specimens are great! I've always wanted bats and ravens, coyotes, wolves, butterflies.

Other companies I would like to have/try?- I fully don't expect they exist anymore, but NA's Qwb Hwt and Possets Cri De Coeur, or House of Orpheus. OH yeah, a soap called Sex God, not sure who by.

Restaurants for GC's?- CPK, Chipotle, Kenny's Pan Asian (local), PF Chang's, restaurant.com? meh, once someone gave us something like it and it caused trouble..but that was years ago, maybe things have improved!

Copper jewelry? Uuum, maybe if it looks antiqued?

How do I feel about toys? Um, inner child screams the Unicorn from Despicable Me!!! I like little craft made monsters, ravens, wolves, bats...I don't often collect them because the kids try to steal off with them (I once had a few Webkinz they ganked). I like scary little dolls and quirky stuff,

Eclipse? Yes, saw it, love la luna! There was this jewelry I saw recently that has a pic of the lunar phase on your birthdate that glows, which I thought was cool!! Would I like the BPAL, oh yeah!

How tall am I?- 5'5''

How do I feel about the elements?- there are 5 in my book, spirit being a huge deal. I have affinity for all of them, esp strong lightning storms!

Scarves, shawls, cowls, mittens, gloves, fingerless, etc? Scarves, big long ones, gloves, fingerless at least for phone use, never have had wristlets.

Paintbox? I have never looked at their stuff, but am open

Online classes? for jewelry making would be awesome. I like wireworking, found objects, metalworking, working with crystals,

bento? like the idea but not really practical for me. Besides, I like my sushi cooked, cause I'm like that.

knitted stuff for pets?- we have a 7mo-old Yorkie, she's approx. 5 lbs

marshmallows? pass please, unless ya wanna make me crispie treats!! woot

dabber or slatherer? both!

art that hangs or sits? either If framed, hang please.

Tea nitty gritty- black, not into green, or white, I wanna put hairs on my chest
loose is fine, I can steep, I'm a Teavana dork. Top 3- Irish breakfast, Assam, Earl Gray/Crème. Flavored not so much, no chai, like the orange from Tazo. Wouldn't mind trying Blackthorn Hoodoo Blends.

Think Geek? guilty of never having looked..sowwy

Duct tape crafts? Have never really gotten in to, but did like that Project Runway episode where they made prom dresses with Duct.

Flowers I like- freesia, iris, anemone, lavender, orchids, foxgloves and columbine

Halloween ornaments, or dead of the dead?- ALL OF IT. Our Yule tree has fairies, devils, day of the dead, NBC, and gargoyles.

hand-made books/journals? sounds pretty

book-related?- Lights for reading, yeah..I'm always the last one to bed. Night owl!!!!!
