Amazon wishlist link Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? I am not a huge fan. Marshmallows tend to make me feel ick after eating one or two. What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. Someone from the forums set me a bunch of imps off my wishlist during a transaction, as well as tea and candies! Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) Yes! I do all the cooking in my house, and love spices and herbs, as well as chopsticks (I only just discovered sushi...so much love!) and other useful items. Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? Not really. I'm a naked sleeper, and house lounging clothing tends to be an oversize t-shirt and boyshorts. What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white,dark, etc? Dark by preference, as well as milk. I like nuts, and spice, as well as nougats and such. I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I've never been in one, but I'm told they have great teas, coffees, candies,and spices! Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? I live in Tx, so it might not survive very long, as our mail room doesn't always have working AC, and we don't check the mail every day. I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! Stripey socks, a pair of LEI panties (probably a pair of the ones that look like tighty whiteys), some snacks/toys for Miss Maus (the kittybeast), and a bar of 'good' chocolate. (Lindt, probably their sea salt or chili bar) I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? Oh hell yes! I'm a Canuk myself, and badly miss Dare Scotch Mints!!!!!! Mackintosh's toffee. Maple Sugar candies. *sigh* what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? I heart TeeFury, and am a size (womens) XL there. Firefly, Sherlock, Doctor who, BattleStar Galactica, Calvin and Hobbes, Avengers (Thor, CApt. America, and Iron Man too), and Batman are all my fandoms. Do you have an eReader and if so which one? Nope. Marzipan? Not really a fan. Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? No, thanks. We live in an apartment with no washer, so things we have to wash frequently are a bad idea. Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? Yes and yes. My fiancee and I prefer sweeter infused vodkas, over, say, savory. If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? I honestly don't know a lot about Australian foods. All those sound good and I am open to surprises. If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? Arm warmers and fingerless gloves would probably get the most use! Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? My mate will be giving me sad eyes, so I will probably be sharing any things I can with him. Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Yes, but I will caution that shipping it can be a big pain. Use loads of bubble wrap and ziplock bags. Trust me. Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? Making jewelery and hair sticks seems to be the edges of my creative limits, so right now I'm not looking to learn any more crafty stuff. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive. a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* B..) For vintage candy, I prefer chocolate, toffee, or caramel based things, hard candies (especially christmas "satin mix" style!) and fruit chew type things. What store would that be, and what would you look like? hrm. I'm really not sure, to be honest. I rarely find clothes that will fit me, as I'm pretty racktastic. (36E) I rarely shop in just one store. You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? I don't really know any designers. *blush* I went from goth/punk to 'I'm trying to dress like an adult on a tight budget', so that is a world outside my own. I do know that I love the office goth look as well as steampunk, and love bags with lots of straps and buckles that are all industrial. Do you have pierced ears? Yes. 2g and 6g piercings in my lobes, an industrial, rook, and a cartilage piercing also. What are your daily websites/blog visits, or favorite YouTube videos? Tumblr is my crack. I also spend far too much time doing bloggy stuff. Youtube is a soul sucking pit of cute videos and amazing music, and I usually just go from one vid to the next as background noise while writing. My Little Pony... Cute or meh? I liked the original ones as a kid. Haven't got into the new series, though. Lip balm - tube or tin? Tubes are far simpler, and I am less likely to do something disastrous with them. I'm a paper hoarder, and am currently working on reducing my stash. Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? I've never listened to one? I adore books. Ahi tuna. (not helpful, but dear gods, I am having massive craving for it right now, and my town does not sell it anywhere!) Who here is going to be picking up JK Rowling's new book on Thursday? Not me. I've got a huge stack of books to get through before I buy more! What do you do to take care of yourself when you're having a rough day (sick, life not going your way, whatever)? Babydolls, XL I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. How about homemade jam in general? So, I am horribly weird and cant eat jam or jelly. Not because of an odd allergic reaction or anything, but because the texture squicks me right out. Fall Switch Witch 2013 Q&A

1. Hey, Witchee, it's getting cold. Socks, scarves, hats or arm warmers? Socks- I have a Sock Dreams wishlist with many socks and arm warmer type things on it! Scarves- I can never have too many pashminas, and love interestingly patterned and non-chunky shawlettes. (examples of styles I find appealing here, here, and here. I'd prefer neutral colours, or greens and blues, as those are the colors of my Faire garb, and I'd be wearing these at both festivals I work, as well as during the winter!) Hats- No thanks. They're really hard to fit properly. Arm warmers- Yes, please! 2. Halloween Candy, Decorations, and Costume supplies - What kind are your idea of FUN and which ones would you thoroughly dislike? Halloween Candy - I'm kinda meh about a fair amount of it, to be honest. Candy corn and those wee sugar pumpkins make me ill after only a few, and most mini candy bars Decorations - I love trees and branches and things with oak leaves and acorns on them, yes plz. Costume Supplies - I prefer stuff that's going to be durable year after year. I usually don't dress up for Halloween, as I'm working Ren Faire at that time, so my costuming tends to be Rennie stuff. 3. WHAT traditions to you partake in for Halloween? Knowing what you do our how you decorate or how you celebrate? For Halloween, we don't do a whole lot. I put up a few small decorations, we carve pumpkins and roast seeds (though they don't last long. Texas heat is cruel to pumpkins and they melt quickly once carved). I do some rituals on Samhain, but nothing huge. 4. Are you a fan of anything that you would like a tshirt of? If so, what size would you wear? I love Studio Ghibli stuff...um...clever fandom shirts, especially Pacific Rim. Art nouveau, especially Mucha. I usually wear a women's XL, a men's L (I am racktastic). 5. Do you love, hate, or are indifferent to.....pumpkin flavored things? Fairly indifferent, though I am slightly addicted to a pumpkin spice cake thingy I've been making. (Pumpkin puree mixed with a box of spice cake mix. Add sugar, a bit of milk, mix, then bake. It's moist and delicious!) 6. Dear future Witchee, did you get anything from the Beaver Moon or Weenie updates that I need to know about, so I don't accidentally repeat anything? I bought nothing so far. I'll let you know if I cave and pick up anything though! 7. Name some DVDs you wouldn't mind receiving, or are they on an Amazon list? I havean amazon wishlistwith lots of DVDs. (things are roughly sorted into several lists, so look to the left of the screen for my other lists!) 8. Do you want anything from Starbucks or Teavana? Tea, tea makers, rock sugar, tea tins, coffee, via, via refreshers, mugs, tazo tea...? I have a source for Starbucks stuff, but hell yes to Teavana stuff! I'd love some tea, tins, and rock sugar. <3 9. Pinterest? Not really. I poke around on it sometimes, but that's about it. 10. Anything from LisaNut's store or something similar? Most of her items, while lovely, just aren't colour patterns I would wear, sorry. 11. Say your witch works at a used bookstore. what kinds of things might you like from there? cool old pulp fiction paperbacks? tarot cards? (we have those.) a dr who pen? Booooks! i would love love love books off my wishlist. Tarot cards I'm a bit picky about...I'm currently looking for a Radiant Rider Waite, the Morgan-Greer, the Wildwood, and the Gilded Tarot decks. 12. Gloomy Sunday, Hobgoblin, Tell the Bees, and Winchester all sound amazing! 13. I've got some canned goods put up -- mostly jams/jellies, some apple butter, some applesauce. Want some? If so, what kind(s)? Apple butter sounds tasty...my fella and I love it on fresh biscuits. 14. How feel you about lip balms, glosses, and lipsticks? Any particular favourite scents/flavours? Any favourite makers/sellers? I do not like lip gloss-way too goopy and sticky. I do like lip balm from time to time, and prefer stick type ones with a harder consistency, such as Burt's Bees. I am ok with mint and vanilla scents, but nothing too strong or perfume-y. I still have a weakness for Lip Smackers Dr. Pepper lipgloss, and adore the giant tubes of it! Lipsticks are awesome, though hard to pick out. I love pin up reds...right now MACs Russian Red is my holy grail, but I"m always looking for alternatives! 15. I love smoked spices that would go well in bbq rubs...um, apart from that I'm not sure! I have a lot of regular spices (oregano, thyme, rosemary, basil, and others in that vein), as well as a few more random ones like turmeric, curries, random mixes. I'm always willing to try something new, and I love interesting salts. 18. Are there any craft project/s you are working on now that you need supplies for? Or rather, is there a craft project you've been wanting to do but need stuff to start? I'd love some acrylic paints! Or canvasses! 19. What do you think of hair sticks? Would you like a set? To answer my own question, no. I make them, and have hair that is way too short for it to work! 20. Is there anything you'd really like to have/try from Trader Joe's, or any other popular-but-not-available-everywhere store? I've never had anything from Trader Joes, but it sounds utterly fabulous. It sounds like they have some utterly fabulous caramels among other things! 21. Would you rather have something fun or practical? Yes please! 22. Fall '14 Switch Witch! Answers and misc

Wishlists: Etsy Amazon Bodyartforms Sockdreams Answers! 1. I wonder what a potential witchee would think about being bombarded with PUMPKINS in various formats. Because my current obsession just may last long enough to be of use in spoiling.....but I know wouldn't be appreciated by everyone. Would you appreciate it?!? I really like pumpkin bread/cake/pie/cookies, but I'm not too fond of it in scents (foody smells in general don't do much for me). As for decor, I'm with eml298 and am good with them if they're more 'modern pumpkin' vs 'country pumpkin'. 2. I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). Partially? I'm really good with breads, etc. Canned goods, probably not, as my fella and I don't use hardly any pickled items, and he hates salsa. (I'm highly amused by this, as he's Hispanic) 3. Trading Post wants? I'd love to try some of the hair glosses! I'm most interested in Dorian, Amber and Patchouli, and Coconut, Vanilla Bean, and Tiare. (Decants would be perfect...I don't have a whole lot of hair!) Atmo sprays sound good too! And I'd love some stickers or a magnet! I'll tweak my wishlist and add them there. So.. what direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? On that list, I'm not a fan of Mary Kay and Scentsy. Also, Yankee Candle and I rarely get along. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? Do you prefer one or the other, both, or neither? Hot or iced? Whole bean, pre-ground, loose-leaf, tea bags, green, black, herbal, etc...? Do you have a coffee maker/bean grinder/tea-making accoutrements - what kind? Favorite places to buy coffee and tea - do you prefer Starbucks, Teavana, etailers, local roasteries, etc., and are there any you haven't tried yet but want to? Are you a purist or do you like flavors, and if so, what kinds? I love both coffee and tea, and will drink either of them hot or iced. I prefer my beans whole, and my tea loose leaf, but I'll drink bagged tea. I have all the tea/coffee making stuffs I need (tea strainer/steeper, pot, mugs) and a coffee pot and grinder. I have a few loose teas I'd love to try on my amazon wishlist. I love flavours, and really don't like Starbucks. They over roast their beans, and it makes me sad. Teavana is not my cuppa either. I'd rather go through smaller companies and get more tea with less fanfare, if that makes sense. I love Irish Breakfast teas, Earl Grey, Vanilla, Mint, Chai, and am open to trying fruity teas! 6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? Cooking and baking are definitely my thing. I'm mostly set on kitchen acessories, but I could use mixing bowls, silicone spatulas (that are a solid one piece...the two pieces tend to grow mold between the handle and blade), and muffin and mini muffin trays. 7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? I love artwork, drawings, paintings, homemade comics etc - it's all good. I love to write and I play around with sketching/painting. I'm not very good yet, but hey, it's a learning experience! 8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? I'm Canadian, so my country's quite young in comparison to many others out there, so I tend to love reading/discovering about ancient times. Really no personal preference to the country itself, but when you can enter the ruins of say a temple that was built thousands of years ago - that fascinates me. Ancient China or Egypt or Rome or whatever. 9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? Ooh. I'd love a realistic river otter piece or one of my wee kitty (aka The Littlest Hellbeast) 10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? Reading, writing, movies, traveling, eating out, good conversation with great friends, working Ren Faires, crafting, cooking, going to kink events. 11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? Sorta? I'm getting my fella into tabletop games like Settlers of Cattan, Munchkin, etc. I'd love more games in a similar style! There's a bunch on my Amazon list, and used is totally grand! 13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? I miss some types of Canadian candy (born Canadian, in the US now). Particularly scotch mints (bonus points if they are Dare mints, because they have the crunchy outer shell, a chewy layer, and then another crunchy layer.), and Smarties. Smarties in the US are these nasty powdery candy. Back home they're like M&Ms, only flatter, brighter colours, and a better grade of chocolate. I like gummy candies, especially Haribo, and have a fondness for the awesome funky KitKats they make in Japan. 14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? Man, I'm a big old geek. I love Totoro, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), the Avengers, Wolverine, and a fuckton of other comics. Other fandoms I forgot to mention on my ?aire are: Hannibal, Pirates of the Carribbean, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, ect. 15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. Tumblr is probably best for that. pixelatedtoys.tumblr.com (really not safe for work. I post porn, sex and kink positive stuff, as well as random kittens, otters, and social justice stuff.) Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? Sorta? My family used to do little treasure hunts all the time, so it would definitely be a nostalgic thing. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? I honestly don't have a preference. I have CDs for my car, and digital music on my laptop, so am good with either. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? Um...I need to do a honey jar spell on my bf's boss (She just fired his co-worker, and isn't being that great to him.) but this week has been super crazy. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? I.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… I can use all the good juju I can get! Especially some sort of money draw thing. 22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? Lavender scented things make me think of dead people (one too many bad EMS calls to a local retirement home), so I try to keep it out of my house. Apart from that, not really. 23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? N/a! 24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? YES PLZ! I love apples, both fake neon green apple flavour and the natural stuff. Scent wise, I prefer crisp apples over an 'apple pie' flavour, and would be willing to try an oil with apple as a flavour if it wasn't too overly sweet foody. 25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? Pure wool makes me itch and sometimes break out in hives. I love alpaca wool blends, though, and I'm sure any sort of mix will be ok. 26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? I like them, though my tree is hung with mini swords and throwing knives alongside the brightly coloured lights and balls. I love the mini weapons. I tend to stick with more Yule/pagan/nondenominational ornaments and decorations. Deer in particular are some of my favourites, and I like the recent trend towards peacock ornaments. 27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? I don't mind them...my current round of bandaids are Hello Kitty, as is my current mug, but I prefer Chococat! 28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? Pottery! There's two pottery studios in my town, and I really need to stop procrastinating and go sign up for some classes. 29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? I like some, yes! W. B. Yeats is one of my favourites, as is Thomas Kinsella (though I've had a hard time finding his work outside of his translation of The Tain), e. e. cummings. I mostly burn Incense from India brand, I especially love their ambers, sandalwoods, Clove, Golden Vanilla, and Exotic Spice. Am not really a foody scent sort of being, though, so no on the pumpkin spice. I sometimes also burn Super Hit/Nag Champa, so hippy type stuff is ok. Lemongrass EO sounds fantastic! 114.
